SECOND EDIT: Just found that the yogurt we bought from here expired February 4. YOGURT! This isn't a stale box of crackers, its a dairy product that will make someone sick. Thank god we knew to double check now after the wellness drink before she tasted whatever rotten yogurt tastes like. Does this place even have a management? I'm amazed this store is in business because its just a sick operation running here EDIT: one star now because this morning I realized last night I drank a wellness drink that expired MARCH 21. I bought it yesterday, 4/29. No wonder I felt bad last night. Should not have to inspect every item to make sure it's not expired - especially by over a month. King soopers only from now on Original review: It's a pretty weird place. I just moved to town, so my partner and I did our first grocery run in town at the King Soopers after reading the reviews about Safeway. But then we decided we better give Safeway a shot because people are usually harsh towards Safeways. I don't know, it's like a time warp in there. I've been to a lot of Safeways around the country and they're usually in better shape. This one is just in disarray. I included two photos which feature some areas in need of attention. Lots of things were stocked in a way that was like someone rummaged through everything and didn't reset it. I know I know what a privilege to expect a neat shelf right? So three stars because I didn't feel unsafe just suspicious. Also the cashier had an impressive amount of aggression scanning our food (though verbally very friendly) which was interesting. I don't think I'll be back but best of luck Safeway

SAFEWAY Golden Location, 1701 Jackson St, recent visit March 27th 2012

Safeway GOLDEN I like, but its more for Hubs liking. When we came to this SAFEWAY, Golden location, the first words that came out from Hubs mouth were, Man, they indeed bring up their game aka, the store was indeed kept clean. I guess the last time we ever came to any SAFEWAY store was like way back in 2005. That was many moons/years ago. Since I am unfamiliar with this SAFEWAY, this was what I could recall. On the very RIGHT wing of this store, is where you can find the BREADs, DONUTS department. There is also a STARBUCKS inside this Safeway. On the LEFT Wing of this store, is where you can find the FRUITS and COLD stuffs, like SEAFOOD, MEATS what nots. The rest I cant really recall coz we were in a hurry to get back home. The layout of this SAFEWAY, is slightly "confusing" to me but oh well. Boy indeed we are glad, to be in this SAFEWAY in case we need stuffs normally grocery items or snacks that we cant get @ King Soopers etc etc. We managed to get what we need for the following morning we need for work etc etc. Our latest venture to this SAFEWAY Golden, was on a Tuesday Evening of March 27th 2012. Time was about 21:05hrs ish. Yes they do have good deals on certain items provided you are a CLUB MEMBER. From our last visit to this SAFEWAY, the Store Manager is Sue Alton. The cashier who handle transaction that evening is Linda. All in all a good experience shopping here. Many more visits to this SAFEWAY, Golden if needed. This is a low rotation customer store. Avoid getting their produce, it might have been expired.

The pharmacy here and the pharmacists that work there made my night so much better. Right before I…read morehad gone to Walgreens pharmacy to troubleshoot with a prescription that I really needed filled but haven't been able to with my work schedule. The pharmacist that helped me at Walgreens was not very kind to me and I started to tear up to which they said "I know this can be "frustrating" but no" like I was being difficult(?????). I had a good cry in the car and went in to try the King Soopers pharmacy and the gentleman that helped me was SO HELPFUL (I didn't catch his name but he was middle aged and had black hair). He called the pharmacy that was connected to the bottle I showed him, and when he found out they were closed for the night he took down all mine and their information so he is able to call them and me back when he figures it out. I am so thankful to know how kind and friendly the pharmacy staff is here and I will be making it my primary pharmacy. Thank you guys!!

I don't know why every time I come to your store I have experiences. From the people shopping talking to themselves in a zombie like fashion to your employees having some type of grudge match against shoppers and tortilla chip boxes where they refuse to get out of the way so I too could buy a couple bags of tortilla chips. 2:35pm time frame, your Hispanic employee (female) was dripping with hatred. I almost stopped and asked her if she was OK but my husband wouldn't let me. He too feels like your staff is unhinged and HATES shopping your store. King Sooper please get your act together.

Great group spot with something for everyone…read more Golden Mill is an awesome location if you're with a group with varying tastes or appetites. Everyone can be on their own tab and choose from a variety of food spots, and you can self-serve beer on tap, pre-mixed cocktails on tap, or soda from the fountain. Happy hour prices are great if you stop by at the right time (I believe it's mid-afternoon on weekdays). A pint of Coors was around $2.80, and all the food spots have discounted happy hour items too. We took advantage and ordered the Hurricane chicken wings from Republik of Chicken, which were tasty in an Asian-inspired sauce and great to share for the table. On a previous visit I had the Hurricane spicy chicken sandwich (from the same food stall) which I didn't find spicy, but it was overall quite yummy. This time I ordered a tuna poke bowl from Sushi Sora upstairs, a classic build-your-own poke bowl setup. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bowl and the tuna, especially since we're in Colorado. It paired quite well with the wings we ordered for the table. Others I've been with have ordered from the BBQ place and the taco place, and had ice cream, and everyone has loved their orders. Overall, great spot with a great vibe. It's a great place to bring visitors or to stop by if you're in the area and want to enjoy some good weather, with plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor.

I had a great experience at The Golden Mill and I like this food hall concept. It is a drink, eat,…read moreand socialize atmosphere spread across multiple floors. The spectacle here is a rotating showcase of beer, wine, and cocktails on a self-pour tap wall. As you can see from the photos, you identify the drink you want and pour it yourself. How it works: you obtain a swipe card from the register. Like a bar, they open a tab for you after confirming your identity (ID check) and storing your credit card information. You are then issued a Golden Mill charge card that you will swipe at the wall to pour your drinks. Pours are charged by the ounce. The cocktails are reasonably priced, however, unless you're an expert draft pourer you can rack up quite the bill trying to pour draft beer with minimal head. A worker helped me to pour my draft using his own card after my failed attempt. Workers are posted near the wall and maintain a close eye to assist customers which I believe is great customer service to mitigate user errors simply from a Murphy's Law perspective. Like many other food halls I've experienced, this one also has a good selection of food vendors ranging from BBQ, sushi, tacos, ice cream, and chicken. High tables, lounge tables, and standing areas are ample here. The scene is also a good venue for hosting small events. When I visited there was a live band performing downstairs. The customer service was very friendly. Parking nearby was not ideal and there is strict parking enforcement at the lot adjacent to the facility. Overall, a great experience and I will visit again when in the area.

I enjoy shopping for groceries and life's sustenances at a locally owned store more than anything…read more When I was driving on 38th westbound to get somewhere this AM, this store didn't escape my notice (the exterior decals on the glass window was so visible as I drove past by it.) Since I wasn't in a hurry, I made a quick turn to a side street to park my car and went to investigate. And I LOVED it. This store is in operation since 1984. People who live in this neighborhood must love it; lucky them! I have to admit though; certain things are bit pricey but what's great about this place is the fact that they do generous sales on items throughout the store. For instance, a jar of Dalmatia Quince Spread (pear flavor) was originally $6 with some change but it was on sale at the price of $3.99! I had recently run out of a fig spread so I immediately grabbed this one. There is a cafe where they can make craft coffee beverages. Not only that, there is a pizzeria, sushi section, soap/beauty section, vitamins, alcohol section etc. Although the store is not massive, it's a good size where they pretty much carry most of the daily needs (although I'm not sure about toilet paper/paper towels and stuff like that; I didn't need any of those so I simply didn't look for it.) I saw some people sitting in the cafe studying with their books and computers. There were also families with small children eating their late morning meals. It's simply a great place for any occasion was the observation I gathered. My cashier (Sean) was very pleasant to me. I forgot to bring my reusable grocery bag so he asked me if I needed a bag to which I said yes. He didn't charge me for the bag when I looked around the receipt. Thank you! I hope I'll have reasons or business up in the neighborhood soon so I can make a stop again.
