I shop here all the time. Now that we are in busy Holiday season the store is packed and the shelves are getting pretty bare. They brought in checkers from Denver stores and while this store is packed full of people shopping the lines are short and fast. I had to write another review because in December I was shopping for a party. I was in line had everything I needed. Then realized I forgot ice. The clerk let me stay in line and purchase the ice without re-waiting. Robbie the checker went and got another cart for me and put all 4 bags of ice in another cart and helped me out to my car since I had two carts. He loaded all the groceries in my car for me. I offered a tip to him and he would not take it. Yes it's a busy store, the shelves sometimes get empty due to the influx of people. Every time I come to Safeway I am greeting by friendly employees. Even the pharmacy staff rocks. They always get what I need in. Once I complained about the price of the prescription and they told me what to say to get the Doctor to re-write it for brand only. Instead of $60 per month I only pay $32. I love our local Safeway and it's the employees that deserve 5 stars! I would love a Safeway gas station in the area. I also like the Just for U App that saves me money on all the items I buy regularly. read more

Try to always bring everything you need prior to coming up because Safeway is very limited. There are farm few things that I can find for my son that meet his dietary restrictions. In addition, everything is combined and all the aisles. Sometimes when you go to places, they put all the health conscious foods together in a section here everything is blended together and you're on the hunt looking for what you would typically buy locally at home. read more

The woman in the self-service area had a snarly attitude and was very rude to us. We asked her about the price that was shown vs what rang up. It was hard to understand her because of her accent. She was angry w us because we didn't understand that we had to have a digital coupon from their app. "Download the app, she said angrily. She took the 2 items from us and didn't even ask if we wanted them at full price, walking away in a huff. I couldn't find the manager, but I told a man who asked nicely if he could help me. read more

This is one of the only grocery stores in the area, and it was conveniently located from where I was staying. It's a 10 minute or less drive down the hill in a shopping center with other good places. There's a decent amount of parking, they have self checkout, as well as fully staffed. Staff was nice to help us find what we were looking for. Some things were a bit hard to find and some things were pricey, but other than that it's good grocery store. For it to have been snow, the floors were kept dry and clean. read more

THE ONLY SHOW IN TOWN Preface I shop at a Safeway in Denver that is less than 1/2 mile from my house in Denver, why this is relevant is they have the same issues as Frasier Bring your smart phone 1 You MUST change stores in your phone to get digital coupons 2 Use your camera take pictures (pain in the a$$) of every deal. 93% of the time (yes I have tracked it over 3 years) the cheat their customers with incorrect prices. It's never huge, in fact small enough most people won't catch it. A couple of dollars per trip times 100 trips a year times thousands of customers equals instant inflated profit. A caution to Kroeger (KR) who is trying to acquire Safeway, their top line sales are probably exaggerated by millions of dollars. And oh be prepared to be treated like you are the one who made a mistake...eye rolls, exasperation, "well that sign was a mistake and should have been taken down". AND NEVER AN APPOLIGY! Stopped in this grocery store because our hotel was across the street. Our cashier was extremely rude upon check out. We had to bag our own groceries and he wasn't even busy. It was basically like he expected us to put all our groceries in bags without even trying to assist and as we were he walked away. The store was a bit dirty and could use a good cleaning. I love Safeway! I especially appreciate their freshly baked single bagels and breads that very few, if any, other grocery stores have. I got two jalapeno cheese breads and a cheese bread, and my friend and I also grabbed some tomato paste, grapes, bell peppers, and some other ingredients for dinner. I love their fresh produce and selections, and I like that basically every Safeway is the same so I know what to expect! read more

If you're gonna be spending your weekend skiing on the winter slopes, I recommend stopping by this Safeway at least once or twice to stock up on all of your necessities. The fruits and vegetable sections are well kept and fresh. The prices are very reasonable and the selection is quite expansive. There are also multiple liquor shops nearby in case you don't find what you need at this location. read more

Yesterday me and my friend came here to grab some groceries and rent a carpet cleaner for her family. It was absolutely packed so no one was behind the customer service desk, which was understandable. I asked the lovely gentleman at the floral department if anyone could come help us out and he said he would page someone right over. When the blonde female cashier with glasses who was in the nearest checkout lane to the desk saw us waiting there for someone, she screamed at us that we would have to wait a long time and not to expect help any time soon. I figured she was just stressed out, but she then proceeded to scream at a little old lady checking out in her lane then THREW the receipt at her face:( The gentleman in the black Ariat jacket that ended up helping us rent the carpet cleaner was very friendly and nice and apologized for the wait. He let us know that we had to empty the tanks before returning to get our $15 deposit back. This was also clearly stated in the paperwork we signed. We came back today to return the carpet cleaner and no one was at the desk again, so I asked the nice florist to call someone over again. We had to wait a long time again despite the store being much less crowded than the previous day. A line formed behind us while we waited. A brunette woman with short hair and an accent finally showed up to help us and immediately shamed us for there being a small amount of dog fur on the brush attachment. She said that we returned the cleaner in "horrible" condition despite having thoroughly cleaned out and emptied both tanks. We were not aware we had to remove the hair from the brush part, as no one had told us to do so, and it was not explicitly stated on the paperwork we had signed. Despite this, we offered to take the machine back and pull out the tuft of hair really quick , but the woman refused to let us do so. She said "would you want to rent a machine in this condition?" And we responded that it was already pretty dusty and somewhat grimy when we had initially rented it, and that it wasn't a huge deal. She said that we were lying and just wanted to keep our money. This is just about the single most atrocious interaction I've had with someone who apparently works in customer service. Having worked in customer service for years, I am utterly shocked. My friend who rented the machine never got her deposit back and we left the store very upset by the verbal berating we received. read more

This Safeway is one of the last large grocery stores along the route before reaching the Rocky Mountain National Park. We stopped here to get some provisions before heading into the park. I found the store to be very clean, well stocked and customer service was very friendly. Definitely a good place to stock up. There is also a Starbucks co-located in the store. read more

Purchased pork chops on 11/21. Took home froze took out to cook on 11/24 only to realize they are bad. Took back to the store they would not return or take back be cause the tag shows expired on 11/22. Manager refused to exchange. We went to purchase more only to find other expiring in 1 day. Anti-Hunter. The women in the deli area was criticizing me last night for being a hunter. I did not come to that store to spend money so that I could be criticized and hear her opinion's about hunting. Hunters bring in money for the local economy but more importantly fund the Department of wildlife for all wildlife conservation and management in Colorado. Regardless of an employees personal opinion, they should not be criticizing their customers. I encourage all hunters to shop at different stores. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I know sometimes you can't help it but literally it will be a terrible experience. The two lines that they have open are miles long. The set up of the store is confusing- lunch meat on one side - cheese on another, good luck finding... well, anything. The shelves are not stocked. Seems like the only gig in town so they don't have to care I guess. As far as a grocery story goes it's what you expect. It's smaller than your city Safeway, but enough variety. What bothered me was the lack of customer service. The lines were long and every cashier seemed to go slow. There is no such thing as "three is a crowd" that I'm used to at my Safeway at home (more than 3 people in line and more cashiers appear). Also bring your own bags and be prepared to bag your own stuff. My cashier shoved everything to the end of the belt, never started bagging so I took it upon myself to do it. Rather unfriendly. Didn't think I'd write a review for a grocery chain but considering it's THE only grocery store in the area....seems a little important to get things right. I ordered a birthday cake and what a disaster! First off, it was quite gross but none of us could get past the decorations on the cake! I looked like a big pile of poop on the top and none of us could figure out what it actually was supposed to be. This cake appeared as if it was rolled in glue and then ran thru a cake decoration flea market! Jesus! I paid around $32 for a sheet cake that went directly in the trash...literally! Another day I stopped in and was checking out and the cashier was complaining the ENTIRE time to the (local) about all the visitors...um, lady...it's a holiday weekend in the summer and pretty sure your ENTIRE town depends on tourists! Be happy you have a town with ONE grocery store that has employed you and stop complaining about people who are the reason you get paid! The next cashier that took over for her while I waited for her to stop complaining never even acknowledged me and literally thru the couple of items I purchased to the back of the conveyer belt and went on the ring up the customer behind me. We are from Kansas vacationing at Grand Lake. Instead of eating out, we opted to purchase food and cook. We just spent $340.00 and had the worst service ever! We had a full cart but there were no check out lines available except self check out. Because we had so many items, it appeared to be an inconvenience to assist by opening a lane. When taking the cart back, the cart gal seemed extremely irritated that I didn't put our cart in the correct place. Very rude customer service and not friendly when asking where things are. This grocery store is always packed. Parking lot is usually full, checkout is also a nightmare. But, it's the only big store in the area - kudos to locals and guests for going there as opposed to a restaurant. It has the standard Safeway layout, convenient self-checkout. A small Starbucks located at the entrance - no wifi though, so drinking and working at the same time doesn't really work out. read more

Had a great shopping experience today. I noticed the store was well staffed and I and others moved in and out quickly. The foods I needed were on sale, in stock and merchandised well. I even got socks for my bike ride. Oh, and the Starbucks is tip top also. read more

I just had what could quite possibly be the oldest, hardest boneless wings, Known To Man! You'd think, at 6pm, as busy as they are, they would be replacing the pre-cooked convenience food in the Deli, regularly. NOT!!! I thought I broke a tooth for a minute. I've had some pretty terrible food in my travels but this may just be the worst wings, boneless or traditional, that I've had anywhere. I definitely will not make that mistake again! Then, for the 2nd time, my credit card gets declined, due to previous fraud occurances on multiple occasions. That sucks that its the only Grocery Store in Fraser. This is the only local market in Winter Park/Fraser so it is pretty busy all the time. It was much larger than I expected- full deli, bakery, pharmacy, and meat departments. But the deli closes quite early. The fresh food was good but I had issues with the frozen and canned food. 3 different frozen items tasted freezer burned, and canned veggies tasted off. Nothing was expired so not sure what happened. Other than that, it is right on two shuttle routes so it was easy to get to without a car. Very clean, very friendly employees. read more

First and foremost, the direction on the map are wrong. this location is right off the Main Street, which threw us off. We stopped by to pick up some picnic items in our way to RoMo national park. The store seems a little smaller than others but it's clean and nicely laid out. The deli had meats already sliced, which I love (bc it saves time)/hate (bc I don't know how fresh they are). Parking was good & pretty open, so I'm not sure what people are referring to about it being full. we stopped by on a Saturday around 12 and found a spot quick & were not in line too long. read more

Please just go out of business already so City Market can take your spot! Safeway brand stuff is terrible as compared to Kroger brand which is often the same or better quality than the brand names. Also the lunch meat from the deli was kinda slimey, not terrible but still. Lastly several of my items didn't come out as the sale price marked on the shelf. Maybe they were placed in the wrong spot and it's my fault but my grocery bill last time was outrageous for not that much stuff. I think I'm just gonna suck it up and try to make my trips to Granby count with a visit to the good grocery store. Looking for Chineese food in the Winter Park / Frasier, CO area and discovered no such restaurants open after 5pm on a weekday. Really? Undeterred by our craving of deep-fried psudo Asian cuisine we stopped by the local Safewway deli counter and selected a feast of General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, fried rice, and chow mein noodles. This was a mistake as the food was terrible. Fried rice wasn't fried and extremely bland (think plain rice + mixed frozen vegetables). General Chicken was sweeter than a dessert and had no redeming flavor other than spicy. Noodles tasted like they were burned. We couldn't even choke down half of our meal. More effort was spent on how this "food" looks in the deli case than how it tastes. $30 wasted. Not sure I would even give this to my dog. We also found the corner of a clear plastic bag in the food. Two of us also felt sick the morning after eating what little we did. STAY AWAY!
