Placed an online order. And no mention of them being closed for 3 weeks. When they finally answered me they acted like it was my fault.

The Owner and his family made us feel welcomed and appreciated, we truly had a wonderful time talking with everyone in there! The perfect place to stop and enjoy your evening! Put the cherry on top of our trip! Be sure to decorate yourself a dollar while there and stick it somewhere! Cool vibe inside!

The owner Phillip was drinking a Guinness at the bar when we arrived with his back to the door. No welcome. Just told us to sit anywhere. Turns out the whole family works there. Met the daughter Grace while perusing the menu. Not a lot of options but we tried the chicken wings with pints of Outlaw lager beer. Both were fairly tasty. Looking around at the tiny place made me think of a cozy little British pub. The tunes playing in the background were pleasant. The owner told us his story about buying the business and how his family worked there. Saturday afternoon had only three family members as the wife was out. As sweet as his daughter was, she was far too talkative to patrons and fairly ignored the two groups of people who came inside and sat down. Her dad was in the back washing dishes and we still waited 10 minutes to order our main dish. The other patrons even got up to look in back to see if anyone was working there because they were ignored. About ten minutes later the owner came around the corner but Daughter was still gossiping outside. He scurried around. We split the fish and chips between the two of us as well as the salad. I was not impressed with the food. The small pieces of battered fish were decent but the overcooked fries and the salad were NOT good. I was bummed. It's like they realize the fish portions are small and they overcompensate with too many fries. I really wanted to like the place. The salad dressing came in store bought packets. Bottom line; only come for the beer and you will be happy.

My three friends and I drove all the way from Chicago just to come to this market because we heard…read morethey had one the best jerky selections in the continental united states. We weren't disappointed. When we arrived we found the jerky selection promptly and each bought a few bags and also some meat sticks. The jerky was extremely moist, more-so than more jerky's that I have tried. We turned around and drove back to Chicago right after as we had to get back for work on Monday. Would do it again in a heartbeat, thanks for everything Mountain Food Market.

It's always been a convenient stop in town, and lately the produce has been especially nice and fresh. I do wish they had a butcher on site with fresh cut meat available, and I'd also love to see them bring back the little scan keychain fobs or some kind of locals discount program. It can feel a little awkward having to say you're a local at the register, and it would be much easier if customers could just use a phone number lookup instead. I'm also not sure why the locals perk would be limited to only Mondays. Something available throughout the week would make more sense for people who live here. Prices are definitely on the high side, which is understandable in a small mountain town, but a small loyalty perk for locals would go a long way. During the summer I was also told they could make sandwiches during the day but couldn't slice deli meat, which seemed a bit odd and a little confusing as a customer.

Next door to them is a fun little snack shop called Miyauchi's Snack Bar. This walk-up food stand was exactly what I was in the mood for. I wanted something affordable, quick and delicious. They had a line forming when I arrived because it was lunch time. Miyauchi's Snack Bar is mostly known for their homemade ice cream. But they also serve burgers, sandwiches and sides. I haven't had a patty melt in years and ordered one with onion rings. Most of the employees here are young folks and they were really nice. For seating, Miyauchi's has outdoor picnic tables that are available on a first-come first-served basis. I got lucky and was able to grab a table as someone was leaving. It was a warm day, so I had to get ice cream after finishing my meal. Miyauchi's Snack Bar has a variety of flavors to choose from. Being the coffee fanatic that I am, I ordered a cup of Kahlua-N-Cream. This place was great and capped off my fun-filled day at Grand Lake.
