Visited today with my wife, who specifically loves tiger butter, and we mentioned this while speaking with the older gentleman behind the counter. Unfortunately, he didn't seem very interested in helping or ensuring we received what we asked for. We purchased three pieces of chocolate for $23, which already felt expensive, and when we returned to our hotel we realized they had given us the wrong chocolates--no tiger butter at all. We tried calling the shop to address the mistake, but it went straight to voicemail. Between the lack of customer service, the error with our order, and the high price point, the experience was very disappointing. For the cost, the quality did not meet expectations. Sadly, this place feels past its prime, and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I love the nostalgic, retro vibe of this place. And I really appreciate the fact that they offer anything sugar-free, as several places in Estes Park do not. That being said, the elderly gentleman who took our order wasn't nearly as sweet as the product he was selling. In fact, he seemed put out to see a patron enter into his establishment at all. Regardless of the stale service received, this is a unique spot for families, with plenty of space for kids to run around, amidst a fun colorfully lit backdrop that gives off an arcade feel from an era gone by. The framed canine on the wall, much beloved by its owner, is a cute touch too. The sweet snacks once sampled back in the car weren't terribly fresh, but we plan to visit again and try more items on the expansive menu. read more

After hiking Gem Lake, we went into town and found one of the few free parking spots (just as they were pulling out) on a busy Saturday. Stopped by here, since it was a warm summer day and we just finished a 4+ mile hike. The owners were such nice people and we noticed some of the fudge and they gave us some samples to try (I got the funky looking watermelon that was a new twist that was good). If you need sugar this place has it in any form you'd like. We chose to have ice cream. The prices seem a bit high for the amount you get but the cookies and cream was tasty. We came in here 'just to look around' and ended up with so much candy. First off, their pistachio fudge is ridiculously delicious... I don't really like fudge all that much but we ended up doing whatever the deal was (buy 2 get 1 free?) just because I didn't want to end up short on my share lol. We had single scoop ice cream sundae and a double scoop sundae and it was all so very delicious. We even picked up some Buddy Nuts, not that we needed more candy, but because the proceeds go to help Buddy's House, which is a place where senior dogs are taken care of. This place is really nice. Josh and Chris were very nice. They talked about the city and my wife and I had a nice conversation with them. Bought some kettle corn one night and it was delicious. The kettle corn was a nice balance of sweet and salty. Came back a second day and bought some ice cream and gelato. Wife bought the blood orange gelato and I got a scoop of Rocky Road. The blood orange gelato was refreshing and had a nice citrus flavor with a nice touch of bitterness. The rocky road was chocolatey and had whole mini marshmallows. This is a really cute candy shop in Estes with all sorts of confectionary goods. We decided to get a snack and bought ice cream (really cool that you're able to sample ice cream flavors). My boyfriend got a scoop of coffee that had dark chocolate in it along with a scoop of Bourbon Apple Pie (really spot on with flavor). Meanwhile I tried out their fudge and it was delicious!! It was chocolatey with swirls of peanut butter, ugh to die for. What made this experience even better was running into Buddy. We love how he's immortalized everywhere in the shop. I came to this place to check out the ice cream. There wasn't too many selections for ice cream. They do have a bunch of different truffle flavors and candies. I decided to get a strawberry lime-aid which should be $4.50. The girl range up $7.50 and I said whoa why does it cost so much. She said they have high taxes. I said, "$3 in taxes seem a little extreme". She said well you have a water also, I held it up and said, "I don't think you sell Costco Water". So she gave me the $3 back. The drink itself tasted watered down and needed sugar, but I didn't bother going back to get sugar put in it. So when looking at the receipt she charged me $1 extra and tax also. read more

This place has everything you could want for the sugar high you know you crave. Fudge, ice cream, chocolates, candies, you name it, they probably have it. We stopped here to get something sweet for the little one and settled on dip dots which are tiny balls of frozen ice cream. She liked it, a totally new experience. Of course, we could not resist and bought a couple of chocolates as well for us. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the person who served us dropped the chocolates on the counter and quickly put them in the plastic bag as if nothing happened. I said I don't want chocolates that touched the counter because I don't know what else has been there or happened on it and she said "are you serious?" as if it was the most unreasonable request ever made. Omg! Fudge to die for (and I don't even care for fudge!) The employees here are so nice! We stood at the gelato counter and got three or four taste of everything! The brand is Dolce Villa the gentleman told us shipped from outside; it's outstanding. They even have one made out of red wine. Quite unusual for sure. There are samples of popcorn: caramel, bacon and more... And samples of fudge and the counter is loaded with different flavors including peach mango! No worries if you can't choose, they'll give you a sample of several. I actually bought two truffles that were outstanding. I had a dark chocolate orange that was very tangy & good. Then there's the typical fair of bowl candies were you self-serve yourself. And the homemade caramel apples and even cotton candy served in little Tupperware container so you can take it home with you without getting all sticky. But probably the best part of the whole adventure was just the kindness of the employees. Patience galore and samples to boot. read more

This place is literally the best. They have a shop dog and his name is Buddy and is adorable. Buddy is the shops mascot. They have the most epic shirts with Buddy on them there. I can't even describe them you have to see for yourself. My sister in law got a Buddy's nuts shirt and I regret not getting one too. They also got fudge, and some other delicious sweet treats. This place has fudge ice cream and flavored nut varieties. The staff is super friendly, especially Buddy haha. They also have a huge portrait painting of Buddy that is adorable in there. What an experience, highly recommended. Can't wait to go back and get a Buddy's nuts shirt. read more

I have had much better fudge and chocolates for the price. My cookie dough fudge had a soap flavor, not sure what that was about. The chocolate truffles are .81 cents each, which is expensive for the taste and size. The rest of the fudge we bought wasn't too bad, just pricey. read more

I must admit the handsome dog out front enticed me to visit this magical place. We locked eyes and I knew I had to give some belly rubs. Walked in and met Ed the owner and got the grand tour and the history of this place. It was an old movie theatre and has so much character. Ed still has a lot of the original stuff that was in the theatre. He also still plays movies in the store and you can even snack on flavored popcorn while you're watching the film. This place has it all! We sampled several gelatos. My favorite was the red wine style flavor. My husband loved the lemon one best but they were all tasty! We also got a couple freshly brewed coffees. They were one of the best coffees we had while visiting Estes Park and I got to admit we are coffee snobs. We got 6 pieces of fudge to take back to the Lone Star State with us. We tasted them all before we even got out of the city! The blueberry cheesecake and dark chocolate were my husband's favorites and I liked the salted caramel and toffee flavors! They were all sooo good. The young lady that makes the fudge is super talented and very nice. This place is super clean! From the floors to the kitchen... they have every sort of candy you can think of. I spotted some old school lemon heads and red hot fireballs.. We got a couple hats to take back to Texas with us! Hubby got the camouflage Sugar Shack and I left with the blue one. Ed is a super nice guy and took his time with us and we truly enjoyed our visit. If you're in the area this place is a MUST to stop in. 40 flavors of fudge and I'm pretty sure he's the only one in town to make fudge. He also is the only one in town with gelato! He also has a bunch of flavors of ice creams as well! Oh and cotton candy and so so much more!!! Buddy the sweet friendly dog may want a belly rub or a pet. He's a good boy. We will definitely be back to visit Ed & Buddy in the very near future. If you're walking the Main Street it's just a little turn off next to the Beef jerkey shop. From the reviews, the sign, description, etc you'd think this was pure sugar overload. But I found they have some really decent dark chocolate and gelato that was just right - not too sweet. The chocolates are probably the best in town and closest to the chocolatiers in Belgium. They also have an excellent selection of unusual and even gluten free items. I wish I could give this place more stars! First off, there's a sweet, friendly dog that sits outside. My kids saw him and a mural with him on it on the side of the place and thought it was so cool! They let you sample before buying and everyone in there is extremely friendly and in good moods! It's exactly the type of atmosphere to help brighten your day and enhance your vacation. I had the apple bourbon ice cream, my husband had the chocolate covered bacon, and my daughter ordered the Oreo ice cream. Their pumpkin fudge is also excellent! So happy to have gone here. Prices are really good, even for Estes Park and they seem to not be the exact same as all the places on main street. They were kind about letting us sample everything.
