Love the Caramel Crisp! It's a family favorite every time we come through Estes. The handmade pralines are the best in the U.S., their fudge is fresh and delicious, and the family that owns/runs it is always friendly. The Caramel Crisp is named after the delicious caramel popcorn they have been making there from scratch for over 40 years. It's made daily right there in the shop and my ultimate favorite is the Cashew Caramel Crisp. They have all nut varieties though, and fresh kettle corn and cinnamon corn.. :) Love love love The Caramel Crisp! They also have a candy bin with just green jolly ranchers!! read more

A whole menu of sundaes, ice cream, hot dogs, pretzels, and a entire selection of candy. One of the shop workers was commenting that they are known for their hot cider at $3.00 a piece as well as their jumbo Caramel Crisp popcorn. Some wacky and unique flavors include cheese corn, and peanut corn. It looks like they have about 10 different and unique flavors. Aside from their Caramel Crisp, they have delightful Caramel dipped Apples that are covered in different colored sprinkles and peanuts or simply plain. I think it's also helpful to say that they offer sugar free option candy and salt water taffy. Their bulk candy is weighed and sold between $2.00 and $5.00 depending on the weight. Overall, a really cool candy shop. read more

The peaches and cream ice cream was stellar! Very decadent wonderful, we also got the soft serve cone which was pretty darn good. The lady helping us had an awesome personality! Would definitely recommend over there neighbor to the left. read more

After reading all of the reviews we had to stop in and check out the Caramel Crisp Shop. The shop itself is cozy so be nice to your fellow patrons! I loved the displays and variety they had in the store. We decided savory would be better to satisfy our hunger pains and went across the street to the jerky shop, but the offerings they had in the store looked amazing and the staff was very friendly. read more

Don't let the unassuming exterior sway you. The fudge here is to die for! Salted nut roll is my favorite, but the intensely sweet maple walnut was pretty incredible, as well. Friendly service. I enjoy spending money here, leave with a smile. read more

We popped in this little shop for ice cream. The little lady working has owned it for 43 years. She was very sweet and friendly and told me all about her shop. It's the cutest place and the most affordable for ice cream in the area. There is no space for seating but it is good for grabbing a treat and continuing on your way. read more

Caramel Crisp Shop - Exterior - Candy Stores Near Me - Estes Park, Colorado

A less than stellar review. Was excited to get a tin of popcorn to last through the rest of our vacation. Entered with a mask as the sign required. No one working was wearing a mask. Paid for a 2 gallon tin. Waited and watched as they prepared the tin, not wearing gloves or a mask as they ran their hands around the tin and again in a plastic bag to fluff it up to act as a liner. At this point I indicated I had changed my mind. They asked if they could offer me something else. I said no, they asked what the problem was and I explained it would have been nice if they had on masks, and gloves were needed when handling the tin and the plastic liner that would be holding the popcorn. I left without the product and without requesting a refund. Not pleasant, a lack of basic sanitary practices particularly during this Covid season. read more

I never knew that The Caramel Crisp was such a staple in Estes but I am so glad I visited it this last trip. Joyce is such a sweetheart! She told us she makes all the chocolate goodies by hand and maaaaan, I believe her. Everything looked so good! She may be 86, but she's on top of her game--we got milk chocolate peanut clusters and cookie dough ice cream. Such happy campers! Definitely will be my go-to for goodies while in Estes from now on. read more

When visited in 2017 the proprietor said the shop was 77 years old. It's stayed in the family and they maintain a commitment to quality product. They use a unique dry heat popcorn popper from the industrial age that has been in the store since it started. The carmel crisp popcorn is fantastic and so are their chocolates. There are plenty of candy stores in Estes Park but this one should not be missed. read more
