Blast from the past meets love of candy! I can't say how much I enjoyed being in this nostalgic candy store that was established in 1958! It was like walking thru time back to my kiddo days and beyond. I absolutely loved browsing this quaint little shop crammed with sweets from the past to present! They had some gag gift candy like elk and moose "poop." There was a dedicated section of Pez candy with beloved characters such as Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, & Harry Potter. They also had many chocolate bars with unique flavors, such as Pigs N' Taters (milk chocolate with bacon flavored bits and potato chips)! I saw some Harry Potter themed candy that I was so tempted to buy, but might not have the guts to open. Think perishable collector's items that I should eat :p And how can I not mention about the taffy? Chicken and waffle flavored taffy? Check! (You know I had to buy some of that lol) And if you're like me and can't just decide on a few pieces, you have the option to pick from an entire row of select loose candies to purchase by weight. The lady running the store let me view the original cash register that is still being used till this day! This candy store was nothing but pure joy and fun for me. Brought back childhood memories to come across candy and sweets that were only around in the 90's. We found nostalgic items that made us think back to the time where life was so much more simple. I LOVE freeze dried candy They had so many more selections of freeze dried candy that I have seen in other places or online. I got the freeze fried coke bottle candies ($9.98), freeze dried crunchy buttons, which is spree candy($9.98) and gummy mac n cheese ($9.20). We haven't tried the gummy mac n cheese, but I gobbled up the coke bottles and we snack on the spree candies. Definitely would recommend checking this place out. read more

A very cute designed candy store. They have a lot of old fashioned nostalgia candies being sold here. A few local creative candies as well. The prices are reasonable. You have to spend more than $10 to use your credit card . I saw many candy stores in Estes Park but this one stood out amongst the rest. It's was a fun little shop. read more

This place is so cool! I'm always on the lookout for old-fashioned candy shops and have really only stumbled on 3 or 4 worth any merit. So many options here!!! I had a really hard time choosing; I wish I could have taken a little bit of everything :( but alas I was limited to three scoops: one scoop of orange slices, one scoop of some awesome 90s Lego candies, and 50/50 scoop split of (milk) chocolate pretzel balls and dark chocolate covered raisins. The retro Lego candies were surprisingly pretty good (they're not too sweet and different colors are different flavors). I really liked the pretzel balls but they'd be perfect if it was dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. And dark chocolate raisins are just always great. Needless to say, if I lived in the area I'd frequent this place quite often. :D read more

If you like licorice they have the real stuff here, probably in a half dozen varieties, all smelling seductively of natural anise flavoring. This is the best'est candy store ever. They have candy here from when my mom was a kid (you know when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Seriously, I found candy here that my mom enjoyed 50 years ago. This is a cute little old-timey candy shop. Candy is arranged in barrels and bins and containers in a very aesthetically pleasing way. I'm not a fan of hard candies, but my husband is, so he grabbed a bucket and grabbed a few pieces here and there. They have all sorts from sours to mints to sugar free varieties. In the back of the shop, there's an old printing press used to make funny headlines on fake newspapers. They'll print whatever you want as long as the text fits, and even mail it for a small fee. It's a fun little memento and would make great inexpensive gifts. We had a nice chat with the owner while he arranged the tiles for the printing press. It was neat to watch and would be a great learning opportunity to teach kids how print materials used to be made! read more

My wife is a candy fiend, so this place was right up her alley. As in, I tried to get her not to go in, but that wasn't happening! Here's the problem - what she loves about candy stores is getting a huge variety, just a few pieces of each. And here, they only allow you to mix and match with maybe 30% of their candy. For all the more exciting candies, there's a 1/4 lb minimum. We were prepared to spend probably $10 on random candy; instead, we let our boys each choose one piece from the mix-and-match barrels just so they wouldn't leave empty-handed. I was so excited to find this place--I love candy stores where you can just choose whatever you want and shove it in a bag. However, when I got to the counter I was told the workers have to scoop the candy in the bags for you AND the smallest portion you can get of one kind of candy is 1/2 of a huge scoop. My husband is an intense lover of old fashioned lemon drops, so when we stopped at this store in Estes Park and they were offering them, I purchased a half pound to take home to him. So much fun! I love seeing all of the nostalgic candies and it's even more fun to mix and match in my own basket. My twin 4 year old boys were in candy heaven! They each grabbed a little wooden bucket and went to town choosing a few pieces of their favorite candies and trying a few new ones too.
