Someone in Indiana recommended to stop here. Man, was it worth it! The cinnamon rolls were delicious, shop was cute and employees were as sweet as could be! read more

This little of out the way place was worth the drive. There are apparently just a few place that make MONSTER sized cinnamon rolls and this was one of them. I think theirs is the best. I got my roll and coffee and sat at a picnic table enjoying both. There was constant traffic so I guess I wasn't the only one who 'found' this place. They were closing for the season the coming weekend so I will have to wait till next year to get my fix. Oh, and they had other food and snacks as well. Also some locally made souvenirs but my goal was the roll. read more

We loved the cinnamon rolls, but they also had great service and other sandwich's, snacks, and several gifts and souvenirs. Worth the trip to enjoy a snack or meal at the picnic tables and enjoy the mountain views. read more

The other Yelpers were correct...this place makes some excellent cinnamon rolls. Why I Liked Them? - They were huge. Plenty of food. - They were delicious. Soft and cinnamony where they were supposed to be. Crispy on some of the edges. The icing was tasty. - The staff was friendly and the ordering process was easy. - They were just as good re-heated in the oven the next day. - They looked amazing visually. read more

The cinnamon rolls were alright but very pricey. It takes forever to get any food item anyway, everything there was way to expensive. The sandwiches are overhyped and very dry. Wouldn't really recommend but it is nice because it's the only shop in the area. read more

I've been coming to this gem for 20 years since my younger days of working at the local camp- the universe somehow knew to save this place from the flood from just knowing the magic of their homemade cinnamon rolls- everything else is top notch too! read more

Very cute shop with well stocked food in an incredible location, leave the zoo of Estes!

We stop here every time we visit the area. The sandwiches (with homemade bread) are amazing and the cinnamon rolls are outstanding! Don't forgot to grab some cherry cobbler ala mode while you are there. You won't be disappointed. The location is so beautiful and the breathtaking views on the drive in to Glen Haven always make us smile. read more

I was making a trip to Estes Park and a friend of mine who vacations there often suggested taking a little detour to Glen Haven General Store for a cinnamon roll. It was out of the way and for a roll, my husband was NOT pleased but we did it anyway. He said to get there early, which we did, but the store didn't end up opening until I think 9 a.m. We waited for half an hour or so. There were hummingbirds outside and pretty scenery. We hadn't made it too far into the mountains so we were itching to get back on the road and then...it opened! A line had started to form as opening got closer and we filed in as soon as the doors unlocked. I got a roll and a $.25 cup of coffee and headed out. I got myself situated in the car to enjoy the treat. It looked good but I was still not convinced it was the most amazing thing ever. And then I tasted it. Mmm. You know how the inside of a cinnamon roll is the best part? Well, the WHOLE roll is that way and it was quite delicious. And yes, it was worth the detour and the wait. I saw people carrying boxes of them out and my friend also told me when they are gone for the day, they are gone. Definitely a little gem in Estes Park. GO THERE! Oh yes, I see in other reviews about the owner being kind of rude. Uh, yeah, he is. Kind of like the I didn't want to get out of bed today kind of people. But I just stayed positive and it went smoothly. read more

The customer service was AWFUL! I expected a long line, but to my surprise there were just two women in front of me. They talked to the 17 year old worker while my husband and I waited patiently. They talked a good five minutes, then finally ordered and left. While I had been waiting behind the women, a family with around five came in. Apparently me waiting behind the women at the counter the entire time was the wrong line (there was nobody in the store the first five minutes!). When I approached the counter, I was asked if I was cutting and given an eye roll by the 17 year old when I said I had been waiting for a while. The other family said I was there first, at which point I regrettably purchased a cinnamon roll. The rude customer service experience ruined it for me. I won't recommend. read more

Still the same amazing cinnamon rolls. This time we also got fudge. Wowza is this stuff amazing! The snickers and jelly donut were two flavors that hit the mark perfectly. Steve and his bakers are amazing at what they do. read more

My friend took me here on the way to her parents cabin; we stopped for sandwiches and cinammon rolls. I was forewarned that Steve, the owner, can be a little snarky. I was advised not to ask for free water or to use the bathroom - apparently a lot of bicyclists stop by for both - probably before tackling the switchbacks just up the road. I was a little nervous that I may start off on the wrong foot with Steve since I wasn't ordering off the menu - it's not a vegetarian friendly sandwich menu. I wasn't sure which would annoy Steve less an order for (a) Roast Beef & Cheddar, hold the Roast Beef or (b) a cheese sandwich. Afraid of being labeled a smartass I opted for B, which was cool with Steve. We also took a few of the awesome cinnamon rolls to go, they're huge and homemade and under $3. The sandwich was nothing to write home about, but bonus points for the homemade bread it was made on (mmm, mmm good). The cinnamon rolls were to die for, if I had known I would've skipped the sandwich and gone straight for the rolls. TIP: Don't ask for free water or to use the bathroom and make sure you tell Steve what you DON'T want on your sandwich if you want to stay on his good side. read more

Delicious cinnamon rolls. Call ahead if you want more than 6. They also have a few flavors of ice cream and some deli sandwiches. Sandwiches are pretty good but on the smaller side. read more

We call the owner the Cinnamon Nazi. One time his sign said if want more than six you have to order ahead. I asked for six and he told me I was supposed to call in. Yesterday his sign said six or more you have to order ahead, so my friend asked for 5. He told her she needed to order ahead and would only give four. read more

I really enjoyed the Glen Haven area. It's a small village with the general store, a blacksmith where they make hooks for you (they just ask for a small donation) and a boat museum and a really nice beach. The general store has a lot of things they sell related to the area but also other things like checkers, candy and similar things. They also have a small museum in the general store of D.H. Day which had the biggest influence of the development of the village. read more

Simply the best people and food. They have been through floods and COVID and come right through all of it. Love them. Love their place. Love the food. Folks come from all over the world for the Cinnamon Buns. I love the sandwiches. All baked goods and fudge made in store! Please come see. Never disappoints. Been coming here all of my life. Current owners have been here at least 30 yrs. Best! read more

After reading reviews about Glen Haven General Store's cinnamon rolls and getting a recommendation from our Airbnb, we decided to head out. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm, 2 hours before the scheduled closing according to every source I could find only to find the store closed. There was no sign explaining why or when they would be open. We tried again the next day during normal business hours and again it was closed. I understand that small businesses sometimes need to close for personal reasons but to not have any sign saying when they would be open is poor customer service. read more

Glen Haven General Store - cinnamon roll - Grocery Near Me - Glen Haven, Colorado

An absolute area classic - my family has eaten these cinnamon rolls since first finding the general store in the early 90s. It's a great on the way up from Denver and an especially awesome pit stop if you're riding the highway 34 canyon on a road bike up from Loveland. We get 4-6 cinnamon rolls and freeze them to last a few weeks. Call ahead the previous day if you want more than 2 and most importantly remember this is a family owned business in a small town so don't leave a bad review if you get there and the shop is closed when google maps says it should be open! read more

Make no mistake, their Cinnamon rolls are the best. Very good!! But it doesn't make up for how rude and cold the service was. If you can stomach good treats with a heaping side of disdain, go for it. The roll will reward you! If you prefer to not feel like you are some kind of burden for *gasp* shopping at this store, then i would advise driving into town and trying some other great place like Nice Coffee or Coffee on the Rocks. read more

I love this place! We came here multiple times every summer on our family vacation. My mom used to buy us kids some cinnamon rolls to split and it was one of my favorite memories from summer. They were HUGE and so delicious. I haven't been back in a while and they are always closed for the season when my husband and I take our anniversary trip every year to Estes Park in October. I'm hoping one year we can come down when they are open so he can experience the General Store and the cinnamon rolls for himself. read more

After a whole day hiking around Rocky Mountain National Park, we headed to Glen Haven General Store for a their famous cinnamon rolls. This is a cute mom and pop shop. The owners make their own baked goods. We ordered their cinnamon rolls to cap off our mountain hiking, water fall, elk seeking filled day. The cinnamon roll was delicious. Cream frosting on top, soft and mushy with fresh baked taste. It would have been better fresh and hot out of the oven but still was still delicious. I had ordered a large coffee for the drive home and was a bit disappointed with it. It was drinkable, but not good quality. Overall it hit the spot and provided enough sugar/caffeine buzz for the ride back to the city. read more

Glen Haven General Store - Grocery Near Me - Glen Haven, Colorado

We stumbled upon the Glen Haven General Store by accident. We had been staying in Estes Park and went for a drive. There was still a lot of road construction going on from the flood a few years back and then all of a sudden there was this quaint little store off the side of the river so we just had to stop. I was really impressed by the freshly made breads and cinnamon rolls. I ordered a cinnamon roll and a loaf of banana bread and debated about getting a sandwich but ultimately decided I didn't want to spoil my appetite too much for dinner. We hopped back in the car and got back on the road and I started eating the cinnamon roll. Oh. My. Goodness. One of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had! I killed the cinnamon roll and then started on the banana bread and was very impressed. It was very spongy and light with good banana flavor. Lots of banana breads are dense but not this one. We actually ended up turning around to go back so I could buy another cinnamon roll and another loaf of banana bread! The man working the counter wasn't unfriendly, just a little short. We joked in the car that maybe he just didn't have much to say living in such a small town! But his wife, the baker, was sweet and chatted a bit with me since I was asking questions and raving about her baking since I also try to make cinnamon rolls and banana bread. They did have a sign that said to call ahead if you were bringing a big party so they could properly prepare enough cinnamon rolls to sell, which surprised me but I guess I understand that since you can't just whip up a batch, they take hours to proof. Very cute little store with hand quilted quilts and cute cookbooks and other stuff to look at. But definitely get a cinnamon roll. read more

Cutest store ever and the staff was so sincere and sweet. The whole town is full of happiness and i couldn't have enjoyed myself more. If you haven't had the Belly Buster sandwich i would highly recommend it. Glen Haven has to be by far the most underrated area and best kept secret. I am so happy i was brought there today. read more

The cinnamon rolls were ok, but Cinnamon's in Estes Park hands down the winner.about 15 minutes out of Estes Park.

If you're in the area, this is a must. Homemade cinnamon rolls and 25 cent coffee. The cinnamon rolls are huge! They tasted very good and were made fresh. The black coffee here is the best coffee j have had since entering the Rocky Mountains. Very unexpected. And did I say it was 25 cents? Just a quarter! Scenic and twisty roads on the way make it a fun drive. The only downside is you can only eat outside. BUT the cinnamon rolls and roast far make up for it. read more

Cute store. Sandwiches are good; made with a sweeter homemade bun which is the big selling point. Well known for their cinnamon rolls which are also good. What could improve is the grumpy guy at the checkout. The whole time I was eating my sandwich I kept thinking back about him and how miserable / gruff he seemed /was - it was hard to really enjoy the sandwich. About the only unfriendly person I've met in Colorado. Give this guy something to do that doesn't interact with customers, put a somewhat congenial person behind the counter and they'd get one more star immediately. I'll go back but won't be rushing back anytime soon. read more

Well known for their cinnamon roll and cobbler, but both tasted average. The man staffing the counter was not very welcoming or friendly. There was also a sign hanging by the cash register that said "Unattended children will be sold as slaves", which I hope is just a joke, but a distasteful joke if so. read more

Awesome cinnamon rolls. Highly recommend this place. Make sure you call a day in advance if you want 6 or more. They require this and don't deviate from it. read more

BOMB Cinnamon rolls, and coffee starts at $0.25! That's right! and 50 cents for a 16 oz. this place is for real. My friends went to get us cinnamon rolls and coffee before we went on our backpacking trip, and half the town was waiting in line. 4 people. They open at 9am, so you can sleep in late and still get some cinnamon that beats the frosting off the mass marketed competition. read more

Stumbled upon this wonderful little establishment while exploring Devil's Gulch Road (this review is already off to a good start, isn't it?). Entered and was greeted by the enticing aroma of home made cinnamon rolls. The difference between this aroma and that of the mass produced, mall variety was immediately obvious. What wasn't so obvious was that what at first appeared to be a huge stack of white doorstops was in fact the cinnamon rolls! Those puppies are HUGE! A lot of quaint stuff in the dry goods section (low on kitsch) including several good cookbooks. We got two sandwiches and they were excellent. Good quality ingredients inserted into a fantastic homemade bun. Cannot recommend more highly! read more

While there's not much here, if you're in Glen Haven you should make a quick stop at the General Store if you want to pick up some souvenirs or get advice about the area. It's worth ten minutes of your time to stop in. read more

I love the adorable tiny town of Glen Haven. The General Store is cute, not great. Kitschy stuff, ok sandwich, good ice cream and I'll let you know about the famous cinnamon roll when we have it for breakfast tomorrow. I think the ladies that work there need a day off. They were a little short on patience with the tourist customers. All in all, cute place to stop for a drink and walk around town. read more

A little off the beaten path on Dry Gulch Road but it is so worth tbe drive. Their cinnamon rolls and 25 cent coffee are a hit!

Great cinnamon rolls, great location, horrible owner. 5 stars for the food and store, 1 star for the service, so I averaged it out to 3 stars. The guy that works the counter and owns the place is so rude, he's lucky that this store is in such a nice location, if he were anywhere else, he'd be out of business by now. read more

Great stop! Great cinnamon rolls! We go out of our way to stop here when in the Estes Park area because the cinnamon rolls and cobblers are soooo good. Worth the drive and out of the flood of people in Estes. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is I payed for our items with a $50 bill. The place was busy and I was told to step aside when I got my change so I just stuck the change in my pocket. Later when going through the change I found I was shorted by $20.00. My mistake that time. I won't be pushed aside and in such a hurry not to count my change next time! read more

The Glen Haven General Store is very inviting with a big front porch, picnic bench and flowers. Inside, was even more inviting. The smell of cinnamon rolls in the oven was wonderful! When we asked the store owner about the smell, he said his wife makes the best cinnamon rolls in the area-even better than Vern's! So, we had to have one. And, he was right, they were definitely delicious. I don't know if they tasted any better than Vern's, because when two things are that good, it's hard to compare. But, the beauty and "vacationy" feel of the area, makes Glen Haven a great treat and destination spot. read more
