GIANT SCOOPS OF ICE CREAM Need I say more? The scoops are softball sized, which is no exaggeration. I shared a two scoop cone and it felt like we were eating a pint of ice cream. So on value alone they get a win in my book. Shoutout to the employees doing the Lord's work with their scoops. Flavors are hit or miss so I recommend sampling a few. We liked the strawberry guava sorbet and the Danish swirl. A few of the other flavors we tried were a bit more bland. The flavored cone is a cool idea and it does taste different but tbh it doesn't add a whole new dimension. But colored cones are cool. For a tourist town this is a pretty decent value. Not the best ice cream I've had but solid for a walk around town while you shop. read more

My daughter and I got some ice cream here early, last month. My daughter and I went here because the day before, they were handing out some 10% off coups in front of their store so I figure we'd pay them a visit. The employees were nice and attentive. They had a nice selection of ice cream and their prices are pretty much the same as everyone else on the strip. I got a Peanut Butter Chocolate malt and my daughter got a couple scoops of ice cream. My malt tasted okay but was super thin and runny. I expected a bit more out of a $9 malt. They were giving away one sample of the taffy so of course my daughter and I snagged a sample each. It was good. The same as all of the other taffy around. All in all, it was just an okay experience. Not sure if I would go back considering there are so many ice cream options on the main drag. read more

The ice cream and waffle cone were delicious, the three stars are because the store is filthy and the service wasn't pleasant at all when every other spot we stopped at in Estes Park was extremely pleasant and made sure to know they were glad to have our business. Honestly, I could overlook the blah service if it weren't didn't look so dirty and uncared for. read more

Service was good as staff was friendly, but the ice cream was sub par. I got a single scoop of cookie dough and was rather underwhelmed..$6 later. The cookie dough itself seemed to lack flavor and was a bit dry. However, my sister got the vanilla mall and was raving about it. It was big enough to share, so she split with my aunt who also loved it. Long story short - the malt seems to be the better route to go!! read more

There are so many ice cream places to choose in Estes Park. Of course, I used Yelp to narrow it down - as always, it didn't disappoint. The Danish Cone Factory has so many homemade cones to choose from! I sampled a few flavors, all were delicious. I went with wedding cake ice cream in a funfetti looking cone. It was is amazing! Super creamy and flavorful. The cone was perfect. I was just visiting the area, but I wish there was a Danish Cone Factory local to me. read more

Fantastic ice cream shop in Estes Park! Walking by and caught a whiff of the incredible smell coming from inside of their cones. It's a small shop, but has plenty of room to walk around. The taffy side is fantastic; you can get a free sample. They have different size bags and all of the prices per pound listed so there's no confusion. The taffy itself has fantastic flavor and is the perfect texture - soft and chewy. They have a great variety of flavors so you really can't go wrong. On the ice cream side, they also have a great variety of flavors of ice cream as well as different flavored waffle cones! We opted for a cup with one scoop this time, but I will certainly be back to try one of the waffle cones. For ice cream flavor, we chose black raspberry and it was fabulous! Creamy and delicious. I didn't even plan on getting any taffy but there is something in the air once you walk in so it's impossible to walk away empty handed. So many different flavors and you can pick and choose anything you like. I do think it's a bit expensive for a small box of taffy but it's expected for a touristy trap. Personally I do think that there are better taffy places up there. The ice cream is, well, ice cream! Nothing special but hits the spot after a long day of hiking! read more

This is the best waffle cone I've ever had! They offer a variety of homemade waffle cones, so I definitely had to try a regular one (I'm a simple eater). I liked that Danish Cone wasn't stingy with the samples. Unfortunately I just wasn't in love with any I tried. They were all too sweet. And there were no unusual flavors. Small batch hipster creamery this was not. We ended up sharing a waffle sundae with butter pecan and vanilla ice creams with hot fudge and our choice of toppings. We got oreo crumbles and m & m's. This place has some creative waffle cones! I've seen plenty of chocolate dipped cones, but here I saw baked-in varieties like: raspberry, mint chocolate, and caramel. We went for a toffee (baked in) cone with the house special "Dutch mix." Great flaky cone and creamy ice cream, cherry on top was the shape of the cone was wider than most styles, it allowed the ice cream to sink further down into the bottom. read more

Estes Park definitely does not have a shortage of ice cream shops! We were craving a cool treat and drove passed The Danish Cone Factory. With the windows rolled down, we could smell the waffle cones from the street! The smell was very enticing. Upon entering the store, we were happy to see there were many flavored waffle cone choices as well as a variety of homemade ice cream flavors. The staff gave us samples to try to make sure we were happy with what we would ultimately order. We ordered the marshmallow waffle cone with Dulce de Leche ice cream, the white choc Oreo waffle cone with Mexican chocolate ice cream and an original waffle cone with chocolate chip cookie dough. I also sampled the huckleberry ice cream which was fun and had a nice sweet/slightly sour taste. The Mexican Chocolate was really good. I enjoyed the taste of cinnamon and nutmeg and the hot chili taste at the end of the bite was nice. The other ice creams were good and what would be expected from ice cream. The original waffle cone was my favorite of the cones. We ate our ice cream at the Tregent Park which is a 1-minute walk West of the ice cream shop. read more

This place was delicious. I felt like a cartoon character walking into the place, the scene where you're flying to the pie in the window, but into an ice cream shop. I ordered the marshmallow waffle cone with 2 scoops; Chocolate Peanut Butter and Danish Cone. These scoops were quite large in size. The mix of my flavors were a good combination of sweet and savory with a creamy texture. My fiance ordered 2 scoops of Chocolate Peanut Butter and love every bite of it where he even snacked on some of mine since the portions were good sizes. Cost us about $15 for both which isn't horrible. You pay for what you get. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Estes Park and in need of something sweet. read more

Wow! So many taffy flavors to choose from and the ice cream is amazing. They have a lot of different waffle cone options and unique ice cream flavors. I got the coconut almond fudge, and I think it was the best ice cream flavor I've ever tried. After checking out my ice cream scoop fell off of the cone onto the floor and they were so nice and gave me a brand new one for free. Great customer service! read more

Best Danish pastry I have ever had. So many wonderful things to choose from, all made from scratch. The custard danish and strawberry danish were to die for! The bear claws and jelly donut did not disappoint. I loved that things were not sickening sweet but were light and flaky. It's good I don't have this in my town or I would be there everyday! I came here for the dulce de leche. When I asked for a sample, the guy warned me it wasn't flavorful Bc there was no caramel. What?? So I got the salted caramel and Oreo. They were ok. Salted caramel slightly better than Oreo. My friends vanilla shake was plain and tasted like milk. read more

Go ahead and go overboard because this ice cream cone is worth it. I recommend one if the dipped waffle cones, they make the waffle cone right there in a cool old fashioned waffle cone press. The chocolate is coated thick on the cone and it is crazy. They have all your favorite flavors of ice cream also so go ahead and get crazy! read more

It was decent, but not great - I felt I could've received similar soft serve from a fast food restaurant. Overall, a confusing visit. Not sure I would visit again, for ice cream anyways.

We were greeted by a really nice blonde girl that showed us our seats. She was down to earth and was just beaming with great vibes. Then we got Matt. For entrees, we selected carnivore and sweet potato gnocchi. One major thing I liked about their dishes is the variety of vegetables within the soup and entrees. Carnivore had freshly sautéed broccoli, and Gnocchi had zucchini, onions, and cauliflowers. It makes the whole meal feel more healthy and balanced. We finished our meal with lady bird bread pudding. Overall the service was great and welcoming. Highly recommend! PS. They also offer to send out a postcard for you. I enjoyed writing the postcard in the restaurant!

Aside from their Caramel Crisp, they have delightful Caramel dipped Apples that are covered in different colored sprinkles and peanuts or simply plain. I think it's also helpful to say that they offer sugar free option candy and salt water taffy. Their bulk candy is weighed and sold between $2.00 and $5.00 depending on the weight. Overall, a really cool candy shop.

All symptoms point to food poisoning. We will not be back. This was our first visit to You Need Pie. What we liked: Our waiter was really hospitable, friendly, and did his best to provide service in a timely way despite being the only server available for all the customers. The coffee was decent, though in a small mug, and so was the hot chocolate we orders for the kids (which came with whipped cream, much to their delight!). The decor on the walls felt kind of scanty but what is there was cute. There is a pretty wide pie selection. Food serving sizes were okay. The single person bathroom was clean. What we didn't like: *The $2 veg add-ins of onion and jalapeños to the $12 omelette were raw. *The corned beef hash was extremely basic and barely seasoned, the potatoes were well cooked but bland and pale. It was edible but not worth $15. *Our party ordered a $9 bread bowl soup and waffle fries as well; it was eaten but the cheese ingredient was really overpowering in flavor - the small size was a good thing, in this case, because otherwise it couldn't have been finished. *The batter on the chicken tenders in the kid's meal were almost burnt on the edges, but still pale everywhere else. Something off with the oil temperature I guess. They didn't get eaten. *The color of everything was pretty much all beige and served on white plates, which impacted the impression of the meal - zero visual appeal. One of my favorite parts of eating at mom-and-pop diners is the way the meals feel homey, warming you from the inside out. This did not create that kind of impression. Lastly, the pie (which was the main draw for us and why we picked this dining option). We ordered one slice of rhubarb at $6.25. The pie was very disappointing - something in it was either stale or had gone bad. It tasted really unpleasant and we ended up throwing it away. Our total for everything was about $80 with tip and it was sadly not money well spent. We love stand alone dining options but probably will not be returning.

As the name sounds it's all about cherries!…read more We got a gift package who our friend treated us to and we got to try out the cherry juice. It was Black Bing cherry juice which she may have thought of when I had a gout attack with her years ago. It's hard to say for sure but it was a good experience. I didn't want the juice to be too sweet and sugary but it wasn't and it had a good tartness to it. I don't know how long this place has been around but I don't remember coming across it during my adventures to Estes Park. I could have missed it... that is certainly possible as there is a lot to take in foe the tourists in this town. *Update* This shop is at the Stanley Hotel which explains why I haven't seen it...I have only been to that hotel once! Even then I don't remember it.
