AMAZING caramel corn (best I've had in years) and they've got all sorts of other great flavors. The owners were super friendly!

She gave us samples and they were so good, we bought about 10 bags. I'm even mailing gift baskets to friends/family back home. They're going to LOVE IT! I'm looking forward to hearing the praise once everyone receives their Christmas gifts and I plan on this turning into a yearly tradition. Great for birthday gifts to give throughout the year as well. I'm excited to have found this small business and look forward to supporting it.

1-Star Review for Colorado Kernels Listen, the popcorn at…read moreColorado Kernels is straight-up amazing. Buttery, crunchy, perfectly seasoned magic that makes you want to buy the entire store and bathe in it. We dropped a solid $160 like responsible adults who definitely don't need more snacks, and honestly, that part was worth every penny. Too bad the experience came with a side of unhinged customer service from the white crazy lady with pockmarks all over her face. We had a few simple questions (you know, normal stuff like "what's in this flavor" and "is this gluten-free") and she looked at us like we'd just asked her to donate a kidney. Zero help. Maximum attitude. She was so rude to my sweet mother (my wife, mind you) that I genuinely thought we'd accidentally wandered into a popcorn-based hostage situation. Every sentence out of her mouth had the warmth and charm of a raccoon that just got woken up from a nap in a dumpster. Popcorn: 10/10, would marry. That particular employee: negative 47/10, would not trust her with my kettle corn let alone basic human decency. If you go, just pray you get literally anyone else working the counter. Bring your own popcorn questions... and maybe some emotional support snacks in case she decides to verbally assault you over a $160 bag of deliciousness. Never again unless they put that lady in the walk-in freezer where she belongs.

Unfortunately, he didn't seem very interested in helping or ensuring we received what we asked for. We purchased three pieces of chocolate for $23, which already felt expensive, and when we returned to our hotel we realized they had given us the wrong chocolates--no tiger butter at all. We tried calling the shop to address the mistake, but it went straight to voicemail. Between the lack of customer service, the error with our order, and the high price point, the experience was very disappointing. For the cost, the quality did not meet expectations. Sadly, this place feels past its prime, and I wouldn't recommend it.

That being said, the elderly gentleman who took our order wasn't nearly as sweet as the product he was selling. In fact, he seemed put out to see a patron enter into his establishment at all. Regardless of the stale service received, this is a unique spot for families, with plenty of space for kids to run around, amidst a fun colorfully lit backdrop that gives off an arcade feel from an era gone by. The framed canine on the wall, much beloved by its owner, is a cute touch too. The sweet snacks once sampled back in the car weren't terribly fresh, but we plan to visit again and try more items on the expansive menu.

This is when you…read morefind yourself at least mildly intoxicated, starving and roaming the streets hoping to bump into excitement. There is virtually nowhere to eat late night in Aspen, and regardless of the time of day, there are even fewer places to grab a quick, affordable meal that has a bit of character. Popcorn Wagon meets all of these requirements, and it is open late (I think until 2am!). Yes, it is a wagon, like Aspen's original food truck, but it is always in the same place. I always order the gyro. It is made to order, served hot and piled high with onions on a pillowy pita. In short: delicious. It is cash only, and you will either have to sit next to the fire pit outside or seek interior refuge elsewhere. However, for late night grub this is my first (albeit somewhat only) choice. I admit. Perhaps I go without food so I will have an excuse to dive into a late night gyro here.

Popcorn wagon seems to reinvent itself (perhaps under new owners) every few years. Currently, the popcorn wagon is across the street from the Wheeler Opera House and next to Pacifica. When you're sick of paying 9 gagillion dollars for a meal, and just want some chow for cheap and fast, this is the place! They only have a few offerings-- popcorn (of course, 2 bux for a good-sized bag), gyros (AWESOME, 8.75), the gregorian (i think thats what it was called...Turkey or Roast beef on warm pita with gyro fixins), a loaded hotdog (about 5 bux), cheese steaks (10.75) and a smore crepe. They have seating outside around the cart, and a fire pit to warm up the chilly Aspen nights! One tip: the wagon is cash only. come prepared! the cooks are always friendly and aim to please. give the popcorn wagon a try, it will hit the spot!
