Couches, fireplace, and free wifi.
Dalilah M.

I think for the convenience factor it works. It has enough of a selection that you'll find what you need. Yes, prices are high but at least they have free wifi and a couch to sit on while you rest and get your barings. They also have those O2 canisters if you feel you need one to acclimate to the elevation. Also, buy and wear sunscreen. And wear sunglasses. The sun is strong out here.

Great prices on our first visit to this upscale grocery in Winter Park, CO! And did you notice I said "grocery store in Winter Park", hurray! There is a food court and coffee bar with dining seating and comfy leather couches next to a cozy fireplace! Comfy leather couches with 3 TV's!! I forgot to ask if they wake us if we fall asleep there after skiing---they are open until 9 pm. They have a souvenir section as well as a seasonal section (right now they have Winter items like sleds, shovels, etc.) Their meats are great quality, even had a whole beef tenderloin in the case today, some great seafood choices as well! My favorite is the salad bar where we can make a big salad without having to buy individual ingredients during our weekends up here!! They also had three ready made soups today with room for 5 total. Check it out! And check out my pictures! Fancy, Winter Park!!

Great new store for those of us loving to visit Winter Park!!!! It's very beautiful inside and on the outside (see attached photos during its construction this fall). Its high end architecture with huge sunlit windows, tall ceilings and remarkable lounge & dining area make it more than just a food store, but a place to enjoy and relax. Fresh Cranberry Walnut Bread in the bakery, versatile selection of healthy food products in all departments priced quite reasonably. Food Court has tasty Turkey/Potato/Veggies soup I never had in any other store. Fish of excellent quality. Very glad they don't carry alcohol (there's plenty of it elsewhere in town). Personnel is genuinely friendly, music and TVs aren't distracting and loud. Easy convenient plaza parking, plus underground parking well needed on heavy snow days!

I have never seen so much sauce in my life, it was inedible. The stir fry must be taken off the menu. This meal was $25 down the drain.

Nice store with descent offerings but very high prices. Even for a mountain grocery store.

I shop here all the time. Now that we are in busy Holiday season the store is packed and the…read moreshelves are getting pretty bare. They brought in checkers from Denver stores and while this store is packed full of people shopping the lines are short and fast. I had to write another review because in December I was shopping for a party. I was in line had everything I needed. Then realized I forgot ice. The clerk let me stay in line and purchase the ice without re-waiting. Robbie the checker went and got another cart for me and put all 4 bags of ice in another cart and helped me out to my car since I had two carts. He loaded all the groceries in my car for me. I offered a tip to him and he would not take it. Yes it's a busy store, the shelves sometimes get empty due to the influx of people. Every time I come to Safeway I am greeting by friendly employees. Even the pharmacy staff rocks. They always get what I need in. Once I complained about the price of the prescription and they told me what to say to get the Doctor to re-write it for brand only. Instead of $60 per month I only pay $32. I love our local Safeway and it's the employees that deserve 5 stars! I would love a Safeway gas station in the area. I also like the Just for U App that saves me money on all the items I buy regularly.

Try to always bring everything you need prior to coming up because Safeway is very limited. There…read moreare farm few things that I can find for my son that meet his dietary restrictions. The General Store, once the backbone and livelihood for western towns, might be ignored in today's modern society- especially if it is nestled within a small mountain town. ...and all too often, the costs of running such a small store appear in the pricing to customers. It wouldn't be unexpected, would it? Not so, the Colorado Country General Store! Their prices on food are shockingly inexpensive! Bread, Milk, Eggs... depending on where you are from these are at the prices or below what you are used to paying! True also for the surprisingly complete shelves of groceries. At first glance it didn't look like much, but we were surprised to find everything on our list! This store has more than groceries and household items - like the true general stores you will find various sundry items from batteries to decor pillows to snow sleds - all at reasonable or surprisingly inexpensive prices! Need a helmet for skiing or snowboarding? I was wishing I hadn't bought my helmet (which I purchased on sale) before arriving in Colorado - here at the Colorado Country General Store, a K2 brand helmet was normally priced at $20 LESS than the sale price I paid!! Other ski and boarding gear is also available at great prices. No mountain store would be complete without Colorado souvenirs, and yes you will find these here as well. Friendly proprietors and an awesome store - you wouldn't be wrong if you stopped here in Empire instead of Idaho Springs or Georgetown!

The hospitality they showed me was unbelievable. They helped me find the local 4x4 rescue, and were generally great people. Not to mention, the taffy was pretty good as well :) So, all in all, highly recommend this place. The owners are great people, and the food is amazing here as well.

Solid service but the place is just a little small and I can see how they get overwhelmed with customers at times. It will depend on the day but make sure to make reservations because yes, the food is that good you might be waiting. Five star food all day long the best food in Winter Park.

Look, let's be honest. There are some nice places in Grand County to grab a bite to eat. But really…read morefine dining? Not so much. The folks at the Wild Horse Inn used to run Solstice as a kinda pop-up restaurant in Fraser next to the Safeway in the winter when they weren't catering weddings and events during the summers. But then the Fanches who own Devil's Thumb bought the Inn owners out for over $3 mill a while back when they were on their way to buying up the whole county. So what happened to Solstice? Well, for a fraction of that price some sweet hard-workin' folks bought the Wild Horse catering business and . . . wait for it . . . yes . . . Solstice. Now (sweet) Sue and her partner have just started running Solstice as a full-time restaurant and boy does it rock. The place only seats around 25 people, but it'll be worth the wait (once everyone comes to understand that the place is now regularly open all the time this place is going to be jammed!). This new policy just started a couple/three weeks ago so when we came in last night the room was lightly used and we had a chance to visit with Sue, who's about one of the kindest best bartenders/servers/owners ever. We decided to make dinner out of five of their tapas offerings, starting with a super fresh and delicious salad, and followed by their smoked salmon crostini, dates with (spicy!) capicola skewers, ridiculously delicious scallops, and a really savory "burnt ends" dish of pork belly bites and crispy(!) mini-ravioli. Can't believe we had room for dessert, but the flourless chocolate tart with homemade whipped cream and raspberry preserve sauce was something we couldn't resist. (Next time I'm coming for you Mr. Key Lime pie:). All in all, a truly fine dining experience at a reasonable price point. So the bottom line is that this is great news for Grand County: the addition of a wonderful new restaurant serving really excellent food right in the heart of Fraser! 2
