We've been coming to Grand Lake area for many years for camping trips and Air B&B stays and inevitably forget something or need something for dinner. The prices are relatively affordable so we don't need to drive to City Market in Granby and the people are always kind and helpful and welcoming upon entering the store. I love the flowers and picnic tables out front making it a happy experience. The interior is spacious but jam packed with good products and decent selection of foods and grocery stuff. They even have a little deli inside!! Their produce was in great condition and I bought a gorgeous bunch of fresh cilantro, a healthy chunk of fresh ginger and a lovely garlic bulb for my stir fry dinner for a couple bucks. Then I forgot rice and went back and got jasmine rice and ingredients for chocolate chip cookies!! LOL! This is an awesome market!!

It's always been a convenient stop in town, and lately the produce has been especially nice and fresh. I do wish they had a butcher on site with fresh cut meat available, and I'd also love to see them bring back the little scan keychain fobs or some kind of locals discount program. It can feel a little awkward having to say you're a local at the register, and it would be much easier if customers could just use a phone number lookup instead. I'm also not sure why the locals perk would be limited to only Mondays. Something available throughout the week would make more sense for people who live here. Prices are definitely on the high side, which is understandable in a small mountain town, but a small loyalty perk for locals would go a long way. During the summer I was also told they could make sandwiches during the day but couldn't slice deli meat, which seemed a bit odd and a little confusing as a customer.

Park on the street or over by the Teller House and walk on over. Often there will be music playing outside the shop, so listen for it. Have a cappuccino and pick up some incredible olive oil or cheese for your next meal. Prices are a little higher than you might find at larger shops, however this is a tiny independent place in a very small town, so I think this is both understandable and expected. I'm thrilled to have such an incredible option in our area. As noted, parking is just what you can find in the area, but this is a walkable little town so you are going to want to do just that. It is a hilly town so bring your walking shoes!

When we asked if we could have iced coffee, the presumed owner responded, "No. You don't want hot?" as if iced coffee was a bizarre request. The gelato was in a Mexican paleta freezer case in prepackaged individual servings one step more elegant than a 7-11 freezer. It was tasty, despite some freezer burn. We asked about a bag of Italian cookies and the owner said she'd never had them and we should "read the ingredients" which were in Italian. In every other place we visited in Central City the people were marvelously friendly. Not here. A group walked in after us and asked about coffee tastings and she said, "you can't. He's not here" as if their advertised special was an inconvenience. There was no receptacle outside for trash except for a bag tied closed on the step. When I stepped back inside to ask for a trash can, I was met with a rude response once again. I should've left it on their bench out front. Such an incredible disappointment of an experience in an otherwise delightful town full of history and charm.
