RATING: 3.5 First off, this store is always one of the cleanest stores around. The produce looks fresh all the time and ready to go. The fish market today didn't look very well. There were some fish that you could tell where not very good. Looked old and like it had been sitting out. Get rid of that!! I wanted to buy some sole for a new recipe however after seeing the bad two pcs on top I was not about to have him dig for the ones under. NO WAY Since the remodel the store seems very cluttered and small. It's hard to get carts down the isle and they have displays everywhere. Not a very good set up. I will say the employees are very nice and helpful. Not like most stores! They really do need to work on having more checkers, especially during peak hours. Once the lines get backed up by 2 people you are blocking the main isle and can't get by. So it really becomes a problem when they are 5-6-7 deep and you don't know where the line ends! read more

I ordered a sandwich from the Safeway deli today and was treated very rudely. Paul was helping me and never once smiled, never once asked what or if I wanted to add anything to my sandwich and proceeded to converse with his coworkers about being in a union and not caring if anything ran out throughout. They were snarky and rude to all of the customers in line. When he tried to wrap up my sandwich, I stopped him and politely asked for additions to my sandwich. He gave me a rude look and only then placed the requested condiments on my sandwich. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

I find reviewing this Safeway very odd! I've checked-in and even written a review of this store but it has evaporated like California rain! In short this is a straight-forward grocery store. They have been sold and I await the next shoe to drop, telling us that the name has been changed or that they are closing (Doubtful on the last part). The produce here falls short of good with only one or two varietals of apples, and specialized ways of sorting things to underscore how little they have in variety. The prices are higher than they should be. However, it is the people who work here that I enjoy the most and keep me coming back. read more

Just went to the deli, first I asked if they made half sandwiches....this confused the worker. She wasn't sure what I meant by half of a sandwich. I went to the other side (salads), the worker was helping someone so I waited...meanwhile about 4-5 other workers weren't helping anyone....didn't offer to help me. When she was done helping, it was obvious at this point that I was waiting to be helped went into the back and completely ignored me. Wtf? I'll never go back to this Safeway ever. Not sure if you're terrible at hiring good people, or very good at hiring bad people because it seems you prefer bad employees as they are the ones populating your stores. This guy who was at self-check-out between 2pm & 3pm on 7/14/21 has been nasty to customers in the past. What I observed today, well, he out-did himself. It's not only that he's a poor employee, he may not be mentally stable. Not saying that's the case but really, think about having him evaluated. I've been shopping at this Safeway for at least 5+ years and have been my top favorite Safeway to shop in. Pros: - friendly customer service - clean store - organized aisles - stocked items - Love their Deli dept + produce dept - Awesome Sushi selection - great lightening throughout the store - great location - I have ran into two of my neighbors here several times Cons: - I was charged for 21 yellow bell peppers today for $42.00, when I only bought 2 for $4.00. I drove back to get my $38.00 refund. (Always check your receipts!!) - Doesn't sell Alafalfa sprouts and/or other sprouts commonly used in sandwiches I bought a lot of groceries today and I declined the bagger (with SF Giants gloves) when asked if I needed help to my car. Even when I declined, the person was persistent in wanting to help me take my groceries out to my car so I let the bagger help me since I was also carrying my infant. The bagger is a regular. Before the girl left with the shopping cart I said, .. Me: "It's not much, but I want you to have this ($5.00 tip!!) Girl: (She took it as a surprise and hesitated) Me: "You're allowed to accept tips from customers, right??" Girl: "I'm not suppose to, but she said that if I didn't want my change that she happily will accept the $5.00 tip." Me: "I basically tipped her as I would at a car wash." Plus, it was like 104-106 F - Yikes!!! But, when I asked another Safeway employer later this afternoon when I went back, I was told that baggers aren't suppose to accept tips because the company they work for is Union related? I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I did however declined twice for the help out to my vehicle too to avoid these kind of awkward situation and unsure to tip the baggers or not. I was there to pick up money from western union. I waited for 10 minutes, which is unusually long. Then Travis came only to tell me that i have to wait for 35 more minutes because the girl who knows western union is on break. That is a very unacceptable reason, and travis said there is nothing they can do and the only thing i can do is wait. Well, i can negatively yelp them. Arrogance and incompetence to the maximum is what i just experienced. I wish there's zero stars. read more

This review is for the bakery. I got a last minute cake for a family party, and several people asked me what bakery I got it from. They were all surprised when I told them Safeway. Guests really enjoyed it. It was a white cake with buttercream filling, frosted white with chocolate poured over the top, dripping down. Really pretty. Since then, I've bought two birthday cakes (chocolate with chocolate filling and white with fresh strawberries and whip filling). Kids and adults loved them. Guests once again asked about the bakery. I used to pay $$$$ for speciality bakery cakes and cupcakes but since I always get so many compliments, I'll keep going to Safeway for now. Reasonably priced, pretty cakes, tasty, and the best gauge of all: guests love them. 4/5 stars because the bakery closes at 7pm so it's not always convenient after work. read more

I think trashy is the word I should use to describe the behavior of this Safeway employee whom I encountered today. I needed to send money via WU. It was around 6:00pm Friday 8/9/19. As soon as I got there I noticed this employee whose name I believe is Cynthia a girl with heavy built and tattoos was talking to a couple customers. As I waited I realized they were not customers but her friends or relatives and she was just chit chatting with them. After a few minutes she called me and I told her I needed to send money. While she was helping me, she asked other customers behind me if they needed help and she answered their questions and she mentioned that she is the hiring manager there. I don't know how it was relevant for her to ask me where was I born? I was never asked that question at any Safeway or any other western union locations when I sent money. At the time it didn't occurred to me as something important so I just answered. Once the transaction was completed, I do expect a smile if not a thank you, but she just handed me the traction number without looking at the acknowledging my presence. I took the receipt and said thank you to her and she still didn't look at me nor she replied anything. Now I am not the reason your life is messed up and your poor, you had better opportunities and resources to make something out yourself to become someone but you failed. So don't blame me or people like me for your failures and don't give a reputable good company a bad image by your classless and rude behavior. Be a good manager and treat your customers with respect so they come on here and write you five stars review praising what a good manager and a good human being you're which will than earn you fame, money and RESPECT! read more

Too bad the service is so bad because it is a nice grocery store. After standing in line for 10 minutes and it did not move for a 6 pack of beer, we went to the self checkout lane because. We needed approval for the alcohol and the employee rudely said we do not take alcohol here. This is my main home store. I love the store the butcher area is fabulous and helpful. The bathrooms for the customers there have been horrible for the past I don't 4 yrs and I've complained about the bathrooms and they've never fixed them. Instead of fixing like a broken seat cover dispenser or soap dispenser they just put the new one up on the wall along with the broken one.The smell is always horrible they need to rinse out their drain or something it just needs to be gutted and redone. The grout in there is stained black and it just seemed to pick up all of the paper and gunk on the ground I don't think they clean it read more

I live locally, and my business reqauires me to work either extended hours, or shop late at night. I spend a lot of my money, or did, at this particular store. Every time I shop at this Safeway, late at night, I have been disrespected by the staff there, especially the individuals who are restocking the store. They purposely block the isles with stock to deter you from entering the isle. They act like you are bothering them if you have a question, a lot of them, females included, often refuse to even talk to you.. Tonight was it for me. A good number of the staff at this location are speaking Spanish, and are very unfriendly, cocky, arrogant and do their best to make one feel as if we were trespassing. I can see workplace politics at play, and get that these people feel customer service is beneath them. I'll try the Crow Canyon Safeway. Then I'm done. read more

Growing up I've had my partake with jobs, I have years of experience in customer service, and from what I remember usually the manger sets the example on how everyone should conduct themselves, well I'm here to say that Beverley (Deli Manager) in Dublin you conducted yourself very Unprofessional, No greeting, you couldn't even fake it a little it was clear you didn't want to be where you was, you had snobby remarks when I wanted to add things to my sandwich something as simple as mayo should never be a problem especially if I'm telling you while your making my sandwich, it doesn't matter if that's not what usually comes with a sandwich if I'm telling you it's what I want , regardless of cost then put every thing I ask for on my sandwich, i waited at least 15 minutes just to get a sandwich so after patiently waiting I don't expect to approach anyone with a piss poor attitude making my sandwich sloppy and careless, I expected someone to greet me or thank me for patiently waiting, so thank you Beverly I will not be returning, I wrote this review in hopes that your attitude will change for the next customer, I'm consistently in Safeway and I've never Experience this type of behavior and as a elder you should be ashamed of yourself, set a better example for our youth. read more

This store supposedly carries a variety of special diet foods, specialty milks and yogurts, but any time I stop by (weekend afternoons, that is, forget weekends!) they are always out of stock on 75% of the stuff on my list. The standard response is that we only get deliveries certain days of the week and run out of them pretty quickly. Would you like a rain check? (Are you kidding me???) Even after making multiple trips a week, I'm unable to stock up on my groceries. Shouldn't the store manager be ordering more quantities and stocking up if there are always frustrated customers returning home empty handed? Food for thought. read more

Initially, I wondered why such a lovely location would have such a bad rating. I called to ask a simple product question. First & foremost, the wrong # is listed on Yelp LOL It goes straight 2 the automated pharmacy & they have no clue how 2 transfer the call or how 2 even work their own phone system. Then the pharmacy staff told me 2 call back because they have no idea how 2 transfer LOL What a joke! I called back & asked 2 speak 2 a manager, speaking initially to TRAVIS. I was left on hold 4 ten minutes & ultimately, hung up on before I got 2 speak with a manager. I'm a big Yelper & I just wanted 2 not only ask my simple product question, but also I wanted 2 suggest they change their phone # on Yelp. It may help their low star rating. I called back AGAIN. Surprise! I was left on hold again. I then spoke 2 JESSICA, told her my complaints, etc. only 2 find out they DO NOT carry said product. Don't call. Parking is always such a nightmare!! There are too many "compact car" parking spots. People park in the spots regardless of car segment thus causing spots to go unused. Not efficient! Review is for Beverly and her team at this location. Horrible service and regard for the customer. Yes I came in today 5 min before the allotted time (6am) for sandwiches. But I said nothing. Stood there and waited. The manager looked at me a few times while saying nothing. I waited to get my breakfast burrito when they actually would take my order. Another employee at the store asked me if I have been helped. I said, no. I also said loudly, but of course they don't have a sign that says their hours! Beverly stared with a angered look. At 6am exactly, she came over starting to uncover the condiments and prepping for her job. At 6:05am, she said "what do you want?". I asked for my breakfast burrito. I have gotten this burrito numerous times. This was the quickest and most horrendous display of customer service I have seen in awhile. Thrown together as quick as possible, not done like it aha been before. As if they cared about what they were doing. She had attitude the whole time like I was asking her to do something she wasn't being paid to do. This issue has been going on now for a few years m. I will actually drive further away in order to avoid coming to this Safeway. I completely understand the low ratings for this Safeway. I'm sure those who gave a great ratings were probably not here late at night. There were at least 10 employees there but only one lane open and the line for that was all the way towards the back of the store yet no one bothered to open another lane even though the customers in the long line were in the way of the other employees stocking. I guess they don't hire people with common sense because when I finally got to the cash register, I wasn't offered to buy a bag even though I obviously needed one. I had to stop the cashiers conversation with another employee ( who wasn't doing anything, he could have opened up another lane) to ask for one. The very least they could have done was open the self checkout stations since ringing up customers isn't their thing. read more

I am fed up with the workers here. Extremely disrespectful to the youth. Today (12/9 at 3:50 pm) I walked into Safeway to buy a gift card for my teacher. The worker (didn't catch her name) was white with dirty blonde hair. She was EXTREMELY disrespectful towards my sister and I and yelled at us for THEIR card machine not working. She said the youth was dumb and didn't know how to do simple actions like this. Apparently I have yet to learn my lesson, another poor experience with the staff. My wife and I were at the checkout stand this afternoon and were treated poorly by the woman at the stand, her name was Maniya. While unloading my groceries I noticed that the bagger was using paper bags, I looked up and said "I have my own bags but thank you." Her response was "You want to give them to us or what?" Moments after she spoke to my wife while paying for our groceries with anger and attitude. She never asked if we found what we needed, she never offered assistance to our vehicle either. I like jelly in my jelly donut. I was hoping that because they pumped the filling from the top, that I would have jelly in every bite. I was disappointed to find about a teaspoon (if that) of jelly in the center. This store needs help. Ordered groceries online the night before, October 14, 2019. Selected 8am pickup. Was at the store at 8am, called the number on the sign, it rang and rang and rang. Voicemail was not an option. Called again, a person working in Starbucks answered, she did her best to help. Went inside store, only 1 checker and 1 person in customer service. Customer service person said the person who handles online orders was not there. Also, the computers were down, and they could not pull up the order. It was a global issue. Good answer, NOT. I just went to this Safeway to return some candles and since I didn't have my receipt the girl asked if a Safeway gift card would be ok, I said sure, I spend so much there it wouldn't really make a difference. BUT as she was ringing them up the store mgr MICHAEL VASQUEZ was waiting behind her and suddenly asked, does she have a receipt?!? The clerk answered no and I explained that I had the receipt but had returned a plant the day before and their clerk forgot to Give it back!!! Anyway who cares?!???? I spend so much money at Safeway that he shouldn't of said a word but then he stopped the whole transaction and said we are going to have to look that up so get her phone number blah blah blah and I was so shocked he did that and in such an abrupt rude way I just grabbed my items and left. There's so much to complain about with safeway. Unfortunately it's the closest grocery store to me and it's not worth driving to the a different store just to avoid safeway. It seems that employees are impossible to find here. It doesn't matter if I need help at the customer service desk, at the self checkout line, or at the bakery, there's never an employee to be found. Last time I went to the customer service desk, there were 3 of us waiting for an employee and no employee was around. The cashiers kept ignoring us like we were invisible, and finally after about 15 minutes someone showed up to help. Then I went to use the self checkout, and the system required an employee to enter a pin. Of course there was no employee anywhere. It wouldn't even let me cancel the transaction to start over on my own. So I packed all my items back in the cart, got back in line, checked out at a different register, and as I was walking out an employee finally showed up to fix the first register.
