This is a safe gas station and I come here all the time but tonight when I went, pump 1 was broken. There is no sign indicating pump 1 doesn't really work. Be aware. You can redeem your rewards at this pump with no problems. I added my rewards and the only way to get my gas was to keep holding the handle. We needed to pick up a few things. The parking lot wasn't too crowded; there were shopping carts in the cart corral, and the store was reasonably stocked, clean and organized. The best part was that for a change, my receipt properly reflected the prices that I expected to pay. This is almost unheard of no matter which Safeway I go to. So many times, I've been told that I failed to properly scan a coupon, chose the wrong items, or selected the wrong quantity. I won't digress. They generally charge somewhere from $2/5 per box. Today, when nice guy asks how much they are charging he's told they don't sell them anymore. I placed an online pickup order and arrived to find all of the designated pickup parking spots full. The app provided an option to park elsewhere and notify the store, which I did. I parked on the side of the store (not in a red zone), noted it in the app, and waited for 10 minutes. After that time, an employee came out and told me I couldn't park there and that I could get ticketed. I explained the situation, and she responded, "Well that's too bad, it's probably because we're understaffed and busy." I continued waiting, saw a pickup spot open up, and moved there. I called the number on the sign twice to let them know I had moved, but no one answered. After waiting another 10 minutes, I finally went inside since I also needed to return a product I had purchased the week before that was six months expired. Inside, I spoke with customer service. The representative, Ginger, was not friendly and told me that since I didn't have my receipt, she could only return the item to a gift card even though I used my phone number at checkout. She then called someone from the pickup area, and I had to wait for my order to be packed again because it had already been put back. I waited an additional 10-15 minutes for this. The employee who helped me, Hector, was very kind and apologized for the inconvenience. I truly appreciate his kindness and understanding. When I finally got home and checked my groceries, I discovered that the avocados in my order were moldy and had to be refunded as well. Altogether, what should have been a quick 10-minute trip turned into an almost 45 minute trip, plus additional issues with expired and spoiled products. I wanted a Batman-themed cake, and although they informed me that the toys were not available, I gave them free rein to be creative. They did not disappoint! If there was an option for -10 stars I sure would love to rate this store and this particular employee. Service has always been subpar, but today i experienced racism from their employee. I went in to get a sandwich from their deli. Stood there for 5-10 min, everyone else seemed to be very busy at other departments and NOBODY was at the deli. An elder man with a limp begrudgingly came over, and asked me "what bread do you want" I said everything bread. And large please. He proceeded to find some bread from God knows where and examined it? Asked me what I wanted on it and I told him nicely. Didn't asked if I wanted it toasted. Why wouldn't I? It's been sitting there so why would you not ask? He begrudgingly slabbed stuff on it. Takes his sweet time half assed wrapped it and slammed it on the table. But before that he mumbled racist remarks to me and my son being that we were Asian. I had to ask him are you talking about me? We had just come from an event, where I had my notebook/planner and I did not want to leave it in the car, so I brought it in with me. This morning I did not see the notebook in my bag and did not look in the car that I rode in last night, so I went to Safeway looking to see if someone turned in the notebook - it was 6:45 am - store was open, but I guess customer service is not open. However, there was someone in the back room. I stood there for awhile waiting for the cashier to finish with customers to ask her if she could get me help. Btw, there was only one cash register opened and a lot of customers. Before I could ask for help, she told me they were not opened. I told her I lost something and wanted to know if it was turned in. She told me to wait and she paged customer service. I saw the call come into customer service and hear it over the loud speakers twice. All the while the women in the back area just ignored the call. Then another employee came by and said I don't think anyone is there and I told her I see someone in the back area. She told me to knock or they will just ignore you. So I knocked and the woman finally came out - partially - and I told her I lost a purple notebook. She gruffly said I don't have a purple notebook and proceeded to go back into her office. She did not offer to take my name or number down in case they found it or anything. I proceed to go to the bathroom, where I last remembered I had it and it was not there. When I walked back out to leave, I had to walk by customer service and she was out of the office and looked at me like I disrupted her day by asking for my lost item. Thank you Jesse - the pharmacist, very kind and helpful. She even came out to help me find antihistamine. I was FREAKING OUT after camping I had bug bites. After 5-6 days the bites did not go away. In fact, they go worse. They looked very bad. large swollen red bumps all over my legs. Jesse explained what was most likely going on. I was on the verge of a trip to the Emergency Room. She told me she also had bug bites one time in Asia. Made me feel better. I bought the Zyrtec I think. And after 24 hours everything started going back to normal. After 48 hours the swelling and itchiness went away. I cant thank Jesse enough. I haven't had any medical issues in recent years. This freaked me out. Turns out it was little chiggers - not mosquitos. And my scratching them made it worse. read more

I know why I don't often shop here, because this store is lacking services and some non sense people working there. Store is always clean and it stops there. I went in with my daughter and encouraged her use the self check out. System stuck and needed assistance. We stood there for 5 minutes. The guy purposes to be watching the entire self check station; he spent his full attention helping a lady the whole time then disappeared. I then grabbed everything and went to a different check out with normal register. I realized a staff from Starbucks coffee taking photo or video of me and my daughter, then I pointed at her from a distance to notify her that I am aware. I should've escalated it but I didn't want to scare my child. Moreover, the digital couple app didn't automatically take all the coupons I clipped. The whole experience just unpleasant. It's okay, it's alright. It's alright, it's okay. Entrance to parking lot, not so good. Generally, I like Safeway markets. My "go to" locations are in San Ramon, 2 o them. But I always seem to be nearby to this Dublin Ave location. I needed a handful of things, so I hopped in one day recently. Decent layout, clean, good inventory in both stock and sku's. Meat dept is small, both at the butcher area and refrigerated section. All the other areas checked the box. I still prefer the San Ramon locations, but this will do in a pinch while nearby at 99 Ranch, my barbershop, or dropping off some donations at Savers. read more

So I been coming to this safeway for years. And I have encountered many many good workers who have great customer service good communication who's smiling and able to help you at all times but nothing has been like dealing with Roberta. She's always smiling very respectful never judgmental. She's probably having bad days, and you could never tell it because her customer service stays the same it never changes always joyful and respectful people like this make me wanna keep coming back to the store. Now, as far as the aisle, I wish they would quit changing the aisles of the products it's kind of confusing when you come in to the store, but the store is always clean bathroom always clean. There might be crackhead as they come in and out at 9:30 to try to steal other than that it's a great Safeway to shop at. How have I never written a review for freaking Safeway??? And it's my local Safeway too that I frequent multiple times a week especially $5 Friday... ayyyyy. Lol So what makes this Safeway different then most? It's the staff that works there. Sharky, the meat guy and there's another guy (I'm so sorry I forgot his name) but we always take a minute to catch up with each other. Anytime I need help with anything I can always find assistance. I also find that this location runs out of things less and I always find what I need. A plus that Safeway gas is also available and who doesn't like a good Panda fix right next door. Although, this location can use a remodel like the Tassajara one I still like going here. Ohhhh! And most importantly cell service stays intact whereas Tassajara Safeway it doesn't and I have first responder service, we get service everywhere. I would not recommend the Safeway to anyone the staff was terrible when I walked into the facility to buy a few items. I was racially profiled by one of the workers In the sushi department who proceeded to follow me through the store after picking up one of there sushi bowls which I placed it into my cart. I felt like I was being watched the whole time I was in the store. Every time I turned around, the same sushi department staff member was right behind me. This location has a pretty low rating, but I had no issues when I came here yesterday. It's a typical Safeway. Large enough and had everything we were looking for. It's the Monday before Thanksgiving and if your gonna get a turkey you'll need to get it today to properly defrost it by Thursday. Covid 19 has changed all of our lives this year and our normal festive gatherings of friends and family has been dampened and whittled down to four. So, I went to my normal Safeway nearest to my home but found hoards of people picking over the freezer for their thanksgiving turkey. With just a smaller gathering a small Butterball turkey was on my list. No more Butterballs in San Ramon Safeway. Plan B. Pleasanton being the Corporate Headquarters of Safeway we have a couple of flagship stores just down the street in Dublin. I thought since the Dublin store was bigger, nicer and better stocked they would have what I was looking for. Yahtzee ! Found my Butterball turkey and all of the other items I was looking for including Diet Dr. Pepper. Safeway dominates the grocery chains in the Tri-Valley but not all the stores are the same. The West Dublin store on Dublin Blvd. is the Safeway prototype and has a gas station. The ingress and exit to the smaller parking lot is a little tricky. read more

PSA for all Covid-19 shoppers in the Tri-valley: Came here on a Monday a little after noon and it was well-stocked. No, I did not check the toilet paper aisle or the cleaning supplies or hand sanitizer. But there were plenty of fresh meat and produce, dairy products, eggs, and most of the frozen food section was still standing (a little thin in the frozen potato section, but I still managed to get the last package of what I wanted, which was tater tots). I was able to get everything that I wanted. The store did not seem understaffed either, but then again there were maybe 10 shoppers in the store besides me. Usually this place is hit and miss, but after my in-laws were not able to get everything they needed at their local Safeway, it was nice to come here and see it well stocked. I noticed plastic watermelon floaties, rows of candy, and even mosquito products prominently placed in the middle of the store - all sure signs that summer is in full force. The checkout lines def were long and busy - so we didn't end up buying anything - but if you need some takeaway items for the road (fresh fruit etc) - or some basics - and don't mind a lil bit of a wait - this Safeway will work. I went in there today and there were two people ahead of me my checkout person was "Self" What a great job "Self" did asking "Self" how are you? Did you find everything okay today? Because I'm sure it's really convenient that self asked you when you're at the checkstand. Such discipline and not even being upset that "Self" was in a line that potentially could have been three's a crowd. Self did such a good job putting in self's club card number, actually who is Self kidding it's Self's mother's number Self never had thought of getting Self it's own card. Self bit self's tongue and didn't call the woman ahead a dumbass that had to get assistance from the manager, maybe she doesn't realize that we kind of work here and it's our job to do self checkout. If i could gove zero stars, I would. If you're going to the deli and see Beverly, you better just walk away. Their Deli Manager, Beverly, has zero customer service. We wanted to order 2 breakfast burritos. Upon starting to make the burritos, she only sliced the sausage patties in half, laid the slices of cheese on top, and started putting whole JoJo potato wedges in. When we asked her if she would please chop up the ingredients, she responded with a HUGE attitude. "Why?" "I've been making these burritos for over 20 years - a burrito is a burrito. It all gets wrapped up." EXCUSE ME. The customer asked you to, POLITELY - is it that much of a request? The rest of their deli staff chop up all the ingredients. They also put the sauce on the tortilla first. Honestly, it's all for the cohesiveness of the bite, so you're not just eating a huge mouthful of potato and then the next a mouthful of egg. I was home for Thanksgiving weekend and I stopped here on the way home coming from the airport. I'm from San Ramon originally and the Safeway I used to frequent when I still lived up in Norcal was the one in Windemere. I've only been to this location a couple of times in the past. They have a gas station here at this store. I came here to buy ingredients to make biscuits and gravy for brunch the next morning and also stuff to make crab cream cheese wontons. Maybe it's because it was the night before Thanksgiving but the prices seemed a bit higher than normal. The staff was helpful, the night stockers offered to help me look for wonton wrappers and I was able to buy some. Not sure if it's their only kind but I was only able to find vegan wonton wrappers here haha I wish they just had the normal Asian kind but oh well. It still worked! read more
