A few weeks ago I went to fill a prescription. I had a few other things to purchase, and tried to do this at the pharmacy, as I used to be able to do. I was refused, not because I had any booze or produce that needed weighing. No, apparently the union has made this impossible now because they don't want non union people checking out your groceries. So then I had to stand in a line (for the self-check becasue it was the shortest) that was ten people long! Left my few items and walked out. Always too long of a line. Always too many vendors or workers blocking the aisle. No cheaper than Lunardis for groceries, really. Skip it. read more

Tried to use the buy and go for first time. Arrived at the curb and called the number. Was told that they do not take online order for seafood. My order was placed 3 days ago. And they cancelled my order without any email or text. Tried my luck and walked into the store, and manager said sorry you order was cancelled. No reason given, and seafood still shown in the display and in stock. Worst experience ever. read more

This place is doing away with the gas discounts since the other gas stations are complaining, but it was good while it lasted! Some of the people manning the lines have pretty low IQ's and don't know when to tell the cars to move up to a spot, but most are okay. read more

Since this is the closest gas station to my family's house that often has better gas prices and deals with the club card, I tend to stop and fill up here frequently. Previously, they used to have a deal that would allow one to save 3 cents per gallon but that was discontinued sometime in 2012. However, if you're a club member and are looking to earn fuel rewards, there are some effective ways to do it: - If you shop at or dine at places like Target, Sweet Tomatoes, and many other fine retailers and restaurants, you might consider purchasing gift cards, as those will earn you double points towards 100 points per 10 cent fuel reward. For instance, if you purchase a $25 gift card (excluding Safeway store gift cards, and Visa or Mastercard third-party gift cards), then you will earn 50 points. Sometimes Safeway will run special promotions where gift cards earn 4 times the number of points (in that case, a $25 gift card would instantly earn you a fuel reward while a $50 gift card would instantly earn you 2 fuel rewards). - You can redeem up to a $1.00 in fuel rewards (which equals 10 rewards or 1,000 points altogether). If you aren't looking to use your rewards immediately or want to save them for later, then you should probably start earning them at the start of the month, as they will be good until the end of the following month; therefore giving you at least 1-1/2 months to use them. Also, the fuel hoses are long so you can park your vehicle on either side and still be able to reach the other side of the vehicle. Lines can get really long at times so it helps to exercise some patience. The start of the line is at the parking lot in front of the Home Consignment Center (when it gets really crowded) and feel free to honk your horn at someone just coming in and trying to cut the line! There are employees who help guide the drivers to the next available line but they may not catch everything. As of May 10th, just noticed a sign indicating cash prices versus credit/debit prices. Hmm, wonder if that means Safeway is going to start charging fees for using your credit card just like other stations such as Arco..... read more

It's like a costco gas station. There's a person to help you if you're having problems with the machine and to guide people to an open spot to fill up. It's a real cheap place to get gas if you're a loyal safeway customer. read more

I don't like this Safeway at all. Even though it is new but the employees are very rude. They laugh behind the customers or right next to them. They don't do a good job either, store looks dirty sometimes. Even on self-register, the cashier purposely denied some of my items and pretended its a technical issue and very rude way checked out my items. I even told her you can count them if you want. They have been doing this for a while, until I decided to not go there anymore. It's funny how they get rid of customers easily instead of making them to come back. I feel sorry for the company. read more

They had Safeway brand Peppermint ice cream at a great price ( 2.50 a tub ) and it was easy checking out using the self-checkout. The other Safeway in Campbell was out of it and they lack SOOO many things this Safeway has in abundance, like their awesome bakery, deli, produce section and rows and rows chock-full of food. My favorite Safeway in Campbell ( why shop anywhere else when I get everything I want here close to where I live )? read more

I'm a little bummed that I lost the three cents discount for being a Safeway Club Card member and that they now charge ten cents more per gallon for credit card transactions. Although, unlike Arco, Safeway doesn't charge a fee for using debit cards. Also, the process of using your Club Card gas rewards is more inconvenient than ever. First, it's holding down the Yes button on starting, then entering the phone number. Then waiting for it to process and after maybe three minutes, you are ready to fill up gas. My most recent experience was a strange one. I attempted to fill up my tank to full but it stopped maybe a gallon short? I have no way to explain it as the pump was securely in the locked position. Also during my drive on that tank of gas, I was losing a bit of mileage per gallon too. That usually only happens when I fill up at cheaper gas stations like Arco or Rotten Robbie. Just a FYI to anyone who does fill up here. It's not worth the wait if Safeway is using low quality gas so make sure that your mileage does not vary. read more

Saturday, May 11, two single line.... only one cashier open and one line for self check in.... manager is out of store. Employees could not find the manager and one of them did not know who is manager! Other employers did not care about big line! Manager's name was Sam. Never go to this branch!45 min staying in line for one item!!!! read more

This is probably the nicer Safeway's around. Everyone is always friendly here and they usually always have things in stock. They also have their gas station here, which is pretty convenient. The cash price is obviously a lot cheaper than using card. Sometimes the Shell across the street is cheaper! So i recommend double checking the prices if you're paying card. I also use the Safeway app for additional savings. I did notice that this particular Safeway will have items on sale (2 for $6) and at other ones it's usually 2 for $5, I think you're paying more for location. Even though it's $1 more, I still prefer coming here than the Safeway on Winchester! TIPS: Download the Safeway App for the "Just for U" coupons, it'll show you coupons for things you've already purchased! I used to pay $3.99 for my grapes, but with the app it's $1.99 lb! better than spending $8 on my crunchy grapes. CASH price for gas is cheaper- New hours open till 10pm for the station. They have Starbucks :) read more

Very clean. Lots of parking. Quick customer service. Lots of selections. Many self-check out stations so it saves quite a bit of time. And they also have Safeway gas available, which is great! read more

THE PHARMACY IS AMAZING!!! The pharmacists really actually care about you. My order was taking a long time to process, and as a courtesy the pharmacist helped people behind me with quick questions. I loved that. The Pharmacist did everything she could to get my meds ASAP. I mean like next day. I had a rare dose of a rare brand, and she made sure I got it. They called me a couple of times throughout the week to let me know everything was ready for pickup. GREAT customer service. Extremely impressed, I won't go anywhere else! read more

Who doesn't like a brand spanking new Safeway? Especially one that is fully stocked, has constant deals, and for the most part -friendly staff. What they lost me on was the mystery, funky, Chinese food they were serving at the deli counter. Just wasn't cutting it for my taste. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing to see all the food they can cook up for your on the go meals- but somewhere between that time... someone messed up. Maybe a "taste before you serve" order needs to be in place?.. read more

This is a relatively new Safeway and for what it is, it's great. It's large, clean, has a great selection of items and logistically, because it's so big, you're not as crammed together as some of the other locations. It also has plentiful parking, which is great, if you come during high traffic times. The staff as also quite helpful and accomodating, which is always a plus. Perhaps one of the greatest features of this Safeway is its gas station. Since it opened, it's been one of the cheapest in the area. read more

This Safeway is just conveniently located around the corner from my work, & use of space is better than when it used to be closer off Hamilton & Campbell. Very clean inside & all the food is always do nicely stocked! The best part of it all is that is there is a gas station located on the premises! Cheap gas & when you use your club card you get an additional 3¢ off! Can't beat that, especially when gas prices are so unpredictable! The only downfall is that you have to wait in line like Costco & it can get a bit crowded, but again I'm not complaining because there are ppl who direct traffic for those idiots who try to cut in line. read more

I was on a time crunch and was looking for a very specific (and apparently rare) bottle of Zinfandel for a customer of mine. This was the second Safeway I'd stopped at and I still couldn't find it on the shelves. In desperation, I went to the customer service section. Lo and behold, an angel in the form of a human, cloaked in a majestic Safeway apron, stood before me. She was surging with energy, sprang across the store, and zipped back to me, with the desired wine in hand. Five stars for amazing customer service (though I'd like to see a wine associate more readily available)! read more

I love this Safeway, primarily for their gas station, but the grocery store is just as good. They have a decent organic section now, and they have some pretty good cuts in the meat department. I can usually find some good cheeses too, and they stock my favorite Brie and Asiago's. The staff is friendly and the store is always very clean. The gas rewards are what really drags me in, though. Even though there are long lines and the attendents aren't the brightest individuals, the gas is cheap and the pumps never give me any issues. I totally understand the lines. Who wouldn't wait a few minutes in a line to get gas at $3.00 per gallon?!?! (Depending on how many rewards points you have) read more

This gas station can be a zoo, especially in the afternoons. But they seem to do a good job by having an employee directing traffic and keeping things organized. The gas is pretty cheap, and even more so when you use your Safeway Card discount. read more

Update: If you like your steaks humongus; this is your store. They always have these huge 3 inch thick Rib Eye and huge New York steaks; the meat cutter calls them Flintstone Steaks. Love this Safeway. Been here once and loved it from the moment I walked in. This store is very big and spacious. Kept clean too! Tons of variety compared to majority of other Safeway stores (or at least compared to Milpitas & SJ). They have a lot of selection in the bakery and deli/hot deli departments. There are plenty of checkout stands available including self-checkout. Two Redbox machines can be found in front of the store over by the self-checkout. Stop by their gas station for cheap gas too! (Never even know Safeway had gas stations...whoa) Safeway has gas rewards for just shopping there..100 points = 1 gas reward which = 10 cents off/per gallon. And I believe is $1 spent = 1 point. Wow! I love Safeway's Just for U savings program. I highly recommend signing up. read more

This is my favorite Safeway - it is very clean and spacious and always kept tidy. Everything is easy to find and they always has a good selection of produce, deli selections and items form the bakery. This is a Campbell store so you do not need to bring your own bags (but should anyway). This location also has a gad station so it is super convent to use your rewards points for gas. The manager has always been to nice to us (they had some issues with their personalized deals when they first opened) and very accommodating. If they run out of something they offer a rain check or something similar for the same price (not many locations will do that). Great prices if you get their reward card and use the mobile app. read more

The customer service and employees here are pretty nice. Always asking if I need help, and of course when I need it I can't find a person lol, but that happens everywhere. But the people are pretty helpful and friendly. My issues are the products in the store.... As big as the store is, I expect more on the shelves. I constantly go to buy their brand of K-cups and the one flavor I like is always gone. The shelf only holds like 4 boxes. This really needs to be fixed. It is the one flavor that is always gone out of them all. The Safeway take home pizzas are great, but 80% of the time I don't get a cardboard support for the pizza. How do I stick a large pizza in the oven without it tearing or losing it's toppings because there is no cardboard?? The BBQ Chicken Pizza NEVER has BBQ sauce on it, always red sauce. That is not the description! I have brought the problem to the customer service counter and the deli, still nothing has been done. I have brought home a lot of ice cream items like drumsticks to find that they are freezer burned. This makes the cone chewy. My fudgecicles have had freezer burn on them as well. I am really not going to go out of my way to take these items back to the store. It is a waste of my time and gas money. I just won't buy them from the store anymore. I will go to Walmart or Nob Hill. Meat from the meat departments window MUST be used by that night or it starts to go bad REAL fast. It doesn't seem as fresh as the packaged items. I don't buy avocados from Safeway anymore because I am tired of getting them rotten on the inside. I have bought them both ripe and unripe and still rotten at least 75% of the time. This is too expensive to gamble on, I get mine from Nob Hill. I shop there often for most of my food, but they Do NOT get all of my groceries from there. If they stepped it up I would. There are NEVER any black carts available. The tan shopping carts have a drink hold far away from you AND gets in the way of putting groceries in and out of your cart. POOR design on the tan carts. Love the gas there, even when the line is so long and it goes all the way back to the Home Consignment Center it really only takes about 5 minutes to reach a pump. read more

Gas & groceries... Safeway gas stations are great. Using your safeway card to get $0.03 off a gallon is always a saver. I Love Safeway, I love the Gas discount i get when i spend money, we do spend alot there. Only thing i dislike about Safeway is their inability to put new customers Card Applications through. i have to make sure i have the card all the time because my phone number is not in the system. ive had the card for 6+ months. Guess i have to take the time and do their job for them to follow up my information. This safeway is Clean and the staff is willing to help, just have to find them! read more

Best Safeway I've ever been. It's very organized and clean. It has a good selection of Organic products. Much more choices on meat and fish compared to other Safeways. The stuff is kind and helpful. There's lot of parking space and they prepare trays of delicious sushi on site. read more

The reason I HATE safeway is due to their constant scanning errors. I purchased a pack of fish which had the 'card' price of $4.50. I get home and notice they charged the regular 'non card' price of $8, and had to go back for a refund. The postive side of this...is the customer service people are very nice and hand over the money ASAP. However, you really need to SCAN YOUR RECIEPT to see if the prices are correct...and they usually are not. We normally have 1 item that is off per transaction. This store happens to be very large, clean and well lit. THE GAS STATION HAS THE CHEAPEST PRICES around. But the lines are long on weekends and people often cut in and around to get gas faster and the attendant is on a break or lunch. read more

I haven't been to this Safeway in almost a year. Not happy I came back. Apparently this store doesn't believe in scheduling register workers for the amount of customer traffic they get. 1 cashier and 10 people in line? No one to help bag items so it's slow as molasses. Then they open up another line but close it off after five people in line?? Meanwhile cashier molasses is still working on the same customer... read more

Long Lines constantly. Not sure why, don't really care, just needs to be fixed. This store has changed since first opened. I used to come in, know the checkers, say hi, bring in cookies, etc... for them. Now don't know anyone, it seems the new checkers come and go (Revolving door) . If I go in after 8 PM there is line of 9 + plus people , 1 check stand with checker open, and an even larger line for self check out, they opened another checkstand only to close the other one to give break. No Carts outside to grab when coming in. Everyone in line is complaining.....the energy shopping here is so negative.....the customers are mad, the checkers are getting it from customers for the lines......what happened????? I used to love coming here. Did management change ? I bought some shrimp recently and it was in the fridge one day and smelled rancid along with my whole fridge. When you start buying bad food = Bad Business. I will not buy fish or meat here anymore. Honestly , this Safeway is close to home and Post Office, but going to check out other markets close by, the time to go out of way = the long lines. I have enough negative energy on the road commuting to work.... This happened June 23, 2016 and I heard a gal who was clearing out registers say, they left and were supposed to come back at 8:30 PM, so they obviously had someone not come back....WHY are they not coming back??? . read more

Safeway - Long Lines!!!! - Grocery Near Me - Campbell, California

This review is based on a 5AM visit FYI... So I only come here because if I really need to buy something before a day at work, yes I can go to the 24 Hour Walmart that is near by since this is more on the way I go here if need be.. The parking is very quick and easy as its hardly filled up at that time. When you walk inside it seems to be empty but all the employees and vendors are just doing their job just looking like they are busy and have lots of work to do. If you need help, just be prepared to walk around the store trying to find an employee that is willing to help you! Usually you have the tendency not to bug them because it will just ruin what they are doing... Upon checking out just know there is no dedicated cashier, because its 5AM they think no one is going to be around, but there are those one off situations that there is someone that needs to buy groceries at that time! Just remember to make another round in the store to find someone that will be able to help you! There was even one time I called their store phone to try to alert them, of course there is no one to pickup their phone so they don't care at all! Of course when you check out you will get some type of attitude from the cashier, just be sure to try complain to their website but I doubt someone will contact you about your experience here since they probably have the same issue as the people that come in early to shop! read more

I simply do not know why I keep coming here other than the fact that it's just a very convenient location for me. But I have consistently got rude behavior from employees several times now several times now several different employees. So today I am calling out the Asian guy who works at the Chinese food section. It's typically always the same guy he is middle aged and he has got to be one of the rudest people I have ever encountered.. Got mad at me because he wouldn't listen when I said 3 items not 2 items and he had to actually open the package and put an extra item in there. Yes I know life is so so tough when you actually have to do your job. In addition does the fact that he has absolutely 0 social skills or manners and probably only has that job because hes the only one that would do it. I cannot wait to move out of this area because there hardly is any place that has good customer service anymore. read more

I like that we have a nice Safeway on this side of town, prior to this if we wanted to go to a Safeway it was the one by Valley Fair - don't like that one. The issue I have with this one is I have purchased items that were expired, lesson learned - I now check the dates. The milk section is messed up, all the milk is on one rack (mixed with lactose free) and often there is limited or no stock. Often times on weekends, it is slim pickins on good produce. I shop on weekends like most people who work Monday - Friday. My biggest pet peeve is a checker opening a new line and not taking someone who is already standing in another line. This happened today at ~2:30pm, I was fuming. This is so annoying, the person behind me went to that line and was checked and out of the store before me. I was looking for a manager but did not see one. read more

uuugh... I didn't even want to give them ONE star. I went in to get a couple things and when I was ready to pay went to find an open check stand. I didn't expect all of them to be open being that it was 11pm but I thought at least ONE check stand would have a welcoming smiling person eager to help let me pay for my items. but the only check stand open was self check out. I'm sorry but I want to go in and give my money in exchange for some items. I don't want to have to do their work especially after a long day. I mean really? do I even get a paycheck from SAFEWAY for doing what has always been their job??? and if so, wtf are my benefits and 401k? (anyway forgot to say that I'm fluent in English and sarcasm especially when I'm annoyed.) so the woman standing at the self check out overseeing everyone doing her job says a regular checker will be off break in 5 min. well I coulda waited but nah, just wanted to pay n go. the woman said she could check me out bc I had alcohol but only the alcohol. now I'm supposed to do TWO transactions?? wtf?? not happening. I'll just go to my SAFEWAY that I never have a problem at. apparently she missed customer service/public relations training day too. how hard would it have been to just ring up the other 5 items or so? #incompetence #laziness #poorcustomerrapport #actuallynorapport FYI, just lost a customer. read more
