I have been shopping at this location for over 30 years and have never encountered such rude behavior by a cashier. Pam that claimed to be the manager was very rude,combative ,argumentative and challenging.She invited me to call corporate and file a complaint as she did not care about treating customers properly. She has control and anger issues ...needs anger management . I did not go to lucky's to look for an argument but was unlucky to meet Pam. She won the argument and failed to do her job. read more

It's a shame that you don't value or show interest organizing your store to have a better presentation with all the products since your prices have gone up! Open boxes with drinks? Wanted to buy the tri-tip on sale. The butcher was courteous and professional. At the checkout, I gave my phone number for the digital coupon. The cashier, Wallaa, said that I need to clip the coupon. Well, it was clipped. I went to customer service and talked to the manager, Robin, who kept telling me to clip the coupon and should learn how to do it. I kept telling her that the coupon is clipped. She got aggressive and started yelling. I decided to return the meat and get the refund. Kelly, the cashier, was also disrespectful. I don't normally buy from this store. I usually shop at Walmart , Safeway , and Lucky's occasionally. today I needed to deposit some money and they have a BOA at the end of the register, I thought why not before I get my kids out of school. I came in , one of the associates seemed like they were arguing with a customer. " he/she said I don't honor the sales ." Something of that sort of with a bad attitude even after that person left . First off, , I get customer service can be demanding but really ? You decide to just give a bad attitude while other shoppers around . OK... Whatever , so anyways while I was standing there waiting for the machine because an elder women was getting her transaction ( seemed a while ) , I stood far away as to give her space . They finally whispered and I one of them by the register, says does she need help (me) while whispering something else and looking at me up & down ). So they look at me and I said , yes the machine . This is my neighborhood grocery store.. so even if it were awful I'd probably still go. Fortunately for me, I really enjoy this store. Shout out to Justin in the meat department (I only overheard his name after he helped me one time...white dude/tattoos) every time I'm there he is super helpful. Today he actually left the butcher counter to find capers for me. I had a really bad day and sometimes it takes a small gesture to snap out of it. I've gone a few times kinda later at night thinking I'd make it before closing. I show up at 10:15 or 10:20 and they're closed even though the hours say till 11. So maybe they just need to get their hours updated. I would give one star. But I usually have no problems here. Lucky on on Camden Avenue is always out of specials minutes after the store opens on the day they advertise it. This appears to be almost a bait and switch. It's not even a switch because they don't give you an option for an alternate and they don't even want to give you a rain check. Customer service was disappointingly unhelpful. At 37 weeks pregnant, I forgot my WIC card pin three times (pregnancy brain) and was locked out. After paying with my own card over the phone, I called WIC to reset my pin and went back inside, hoping to redo the payment with WIC. The cashier said he couldn't assist with the return and directed me to the 15-items-or-less lane, but the associate there insisted that only a regular register could process it and said she couldn't help me until that 15 or less line was free. Many stores and businesses have policies or guidelines encouraging staff to prioritize assistance for pregnant individuals, especially in situations that may cause undue stress or physical strain. This location has been my go-to location for a long time due to the good customer service and some Friday specials. Most recently got some corns to eat for the summer. Unfortunately, they went bad within a day of purchase from the store and I had to throw them away. It has never happened to me before and made me question about the quality and the freshness of the corns when they were placed on the shelves. read more

Bought a dozen oyster in a sealed bag and when I got home I found thar at least 3 of them were dead. It's illegal to sell dead oysters. Also, the crab I bought was filled with at least half pound of water inside the shell. What a rip off! To top it off, when I was at self checkout a few shrimps fell out of the broken package. While the clerk was cleaning it up the she was clearly grumpy and yelled "I m supposed to be on a break and now I am cleaning up your mess!" I found that very rude. Well, it,'s your broken package, your store, your mess, and therefore your job to clean it up. I'm a Safeway guy. I came here though as i was going to the liquor store next door (See my upcoming review for San Thomas Liquor). I think i may be coming to this Lucky's more though. It looks like they have renovated the space to make it a bit more modern. I was pleasantly surprised. I came in to get some ingredients to make pot roast. They have everything i needed. First stop was the produce section. Very well kept, nice and organized, presentation looked photo ready. Next i went to check for some other things i had on the grocery list. I needed AP Flour, and they had a multitude of variety. I'll be coming here for some Semolina flour to hand make pasta soon enough. Next on the list was some soda. I'm a diet pepsi guy personally, but they have all the usual suspects- Coke, et al. Shelves appear to be fully stocked, and there were several workers restocking. The staff is friendly, parking friendlier. I always see the ads that come in via mail, and they have some great deals too. The thing i like about this Lucky is the convenience of parking, and it wasn't crazy here. The Safeway i usually goto has a bunch of stuff missing and parking is a pain. read more

Gone way downhill. When they have sales in the meat dept they have the actual product 30% of the time even on the first sale date. The old man in the deli is the rudest loudest employee there. I was at the counter, he had his back to me, "Hello?"..no answer...."Hello?"...no answer.....after the third time he says loudly "I'm busy! I'll be with you in a minute!"...thats him in a nutshell. I walked away and wont go there while hes working. Some of the cashiers should work elsewhere cause they are pretty rude as well. Freebie Friday items are never on stock, even on fridays. Far too many times I've gone there for sale items only to leave with half out of stock. Losts of items are either not priced or mismarked and you have to argue with cashier to fix their mistake. I drove all the way over to the store to buy their sale salmon fillets at 5.99/lb. It is a weekend only special. When I got there I was told they were completely out and that they had only received five 20 pound boxes for the whole weekend I then called another Luckys store and they received the same amount of salmon and were completely out as well. I was told by that store that many of the other stores in the area sold out right away as well. I'm not happy with Lucky for advertising a weekend special just to get us into the store only to find out that they really never intended to sell me any salmon because they only delivered five 10 pound boxes of salmon to the store for sale. read more

I was looking for the bone in rib-eye steaks on sale for $6.99Lb I saw the boneless Ribeye Steaks but none of the one featured on your Ad. As I approached the meat manager to ask him where they were he was avoiding eye contact as he walked away I did ask him politely where they were located? He abruptly said the Company did not send him any and if wanted further information to talk to the store manager! He further stated I'm repeating this for the hundredth time. I informed him this was only the first time I had asked and it was only 9:30 in the AM. After checking out my groceries I did ask to speak to the Store Manager and waited for him to come after a few minutes they called for him again. After a few moments we left without seeing him. If you look at the pictures below you will see, I showed how I wanted to have a three tiered cake be turned into a half sheet with the same design. I had add a couple props to the cake that went with my Daughters L.O.L. Surprise birthday theme but the rest was all Andrew. The coloring came out perfect. The drop effect in the sides were amazing. The picture shaped into an oval with the framed piping AMAZING! & that sprinkle rim around the bottom I loved it! Details for inside the cake: white cake w/fresh cut strawberries & custard. I generally like this Lucky's. Good prices, a little cramped. But today I walk in and I hear yelling. I am wondering what's going on. It seems a loud mouth employee in the deli section is complaining about Democrats. The employees look like they are keeping away from him. Kinda inappropriate. Then he says "f**cling democrats", blah blah blah. Its loud. It sounds like a 1 person argument. People notice, employees look like they dont know what to do. I still can hear him in frozen section. I mention to the person handling self check out if this is normal. He says that guy? Yeah! He kinda shrugged it off. I usually go to this Albertsons...... er, I mean Lucky, because it's on the way home. Also, Safeway doesn't carry Alhambra water and they do. Yes, I know it's expensive to buy those 2 1/2 gallon dispensers. But really, do you feel safe drinking tap water (even though it's filtered) from Silicon Valley? You're talking about the land of electronics where lead is abundant and probably not disposed of properly. Just my ASSUMPTION. Anyway.......... I like this Albertsons, dang it..... I think the only thing I don't like about this location is that those voter registration type of people seem to always be there when I go there. I try to trick them sometimes by saying I'm not a voter, then all of a sudden they want me to register! Then, I come a different time and I say I'm already registered, all of a sudden they want me to vote for proposition 2.38 or something! Argh! And don't even get me started on the girl scouts! The store is nice, although the blonde manager is not. It was 9:55pm and before I walk in, she is standing at the door and tells me the store is closing in less than a minute. I asked her what time they closed and she said 10:00pm. I then asked why the store a was closing at 9:55pm and she said they "use their own clock" and her employees will all be gone. I've worked retail and have never heard that before. All I had to get was milk, so I go into the store to get it. When I'm checking out at the front, the cashier laughed and told me he didn't know why the manger was being stuck up since he was still going to be working after the store closed. His shift wasn't over until 10:30pm. The manger just didn't want us to shop, she would have rather kicked everyone out so she can go home and lay on her couch. Came to Luckys for the first time today for groceries now that I've relocated. Had never even heard of this place before, but it seemed big and there was parking by the entrance so in I went. Immediately picked up an ad, and found several great deals: well priced produce, and lots of BOGO deals for featured butcher meats. I love a good deal, and I was hooked. Produce was plentiful, fresh, and well priced, and selection of BOGO ,eats was good, too- just over six bucks for several pounds with of thick cut pork chop rib eyes? Yes please. Store itself was clean and well organized, and employees were attentive and asked if we needed help throughout our visit. Our cashier kind of gave some attitude when we asked about the charge added to the price of our case of bottled water- being unfamiliar with Cali recycling taxes/policies, I had no idea why the price was significantly different on later than posted on the shelf. I didn't need the dismissive and condescending explanation that "we've been doing it for years". For the unbeatable deals though, I'll be back.
