I come here mainly in the mornings before work if I need to since it's pretty close by. Price wise I think is about the same compared to other Safeway locations I've been to. Parking is in a covered lot next to the store which is easy to get to. This Safeway is quite amazing. All the luxuries and amazing things about Whole Foods but at a Safeway price! There's even a Starbucks inside! They have a decent selection, although I have to admit sometimes I'm frustrated when I can't find something (how can a place so big not have something??). Their sandwich bar is quite good, although their Chinese food and sushi are disgusting. Its a big store and they have a good amount of selection, they have bulk items and homemade nut butters. The minus two stars is primarily for their deli. I really enjoy their hot mac and cheese but I was not impressed with the General Tsaos chicken or chicken strips. The General Tsaos Chicken had this odd texture like it wasn't fresh and it was too chewy and hard to swallow. The chicken strip had no flavor at all, Red Robins chicken strips are a thousand times better and worth the 10 dollars. The General Tsaos chicken was 6 dollars for a small container, way overpriced and I wasn't feeling too good later that night because of it. It was definitely not fresh. read more

yes, this safeway is very snazzy and glowing and fresh and new, which is because it's in the middle of downtown bellevue, so it gets zero points for being that. however, i'm giving it four stars because i like how it will have a special 5-dollar deli deal every friday where some weird thing is 5 dollars. last week, it was one of those giant two-foot submarine sandwiches. (the sign said, "feeds two to three people!" heee haw, what.) this week, it's like two pounds of turkey or something, which is weird but not as funny. once it was a bunch of very specific chinese food that i guess no one wanted. anyway, i have a rule with my boyfriend--whatever is five dollars on friday, we have to have it for dinner. this safeway is part of my relationship now. also they have a machine that will make peanut butter for you on the spot while you watch. you can put almonds or cashews in there too. also there's a broad selection of "honest tea." that stuff is good. read more

Overpriced items, ridiculous volume buying policies to get lower prices, horrible customer service, store that was rearranged and now everything is messed up. Just a bad place to shop. The best Safeway I've been to yet. Underground/easy to get to parking, you also have street level parking... both are easily accessible, big spots, and rarely too packed. I take my lunch breaks at this Safeway a lot. They've got a Starbucks inside and plenty of seating. I'll get something to eat and read my book. There's even a flat screen inside that's usually on ESPN... I have yet to try it but this Safeway has a Gelato counter. What Safeway has Gelato?! The only issue I have with this Safeway is that during my lunch break, this place is like a high school cafeteria with these kids running around everywhere, course, this is only from 12 - 1230pm M-F, so if you time your lunch hour, you could miss them and sit in peace. read more

I came into this Safeway to get a bite from the deli. Got their sushi, not terrible, but not the best thing in the world. I looked around for the areas to sit and eat. There were quite a few homeless or shady looking people sitting in the seating area by the Starbucks. The tables were all in desperate need of being wiped down. You could tell out of the maybe 7 people sitting in this area, only 3 of us were actually eating. The rest of the people were just loitering. I felt kinda uncomfortable so I started to scarf down my sushis while my mom was shopping. Not long after I'm eating this manager looking employee came around and kicked the homeless looking people out. One guy had bought Starbucks but fell asleep. The employee started to bang on the table to wake the dude up! "Sir this is no place for sleeping!!" He went and yelled at all the people who were obviously loitering to get out. I was relieved after this, but was still bothered by how dirty the tables were. Not only that, but the chairs and tables were all moved around in places they didn't belong , and nobody was going out to make sure the area was tidy. read more

Unfortunately, I had another frustrating shopping experience at the downtown Bellevue Safeway. Went in for Chicken thighs for a barbie and they didn't have any in the store. Really! Gave up on the meat department and went over to buy the Pecans I normally purchase and they have gone up from 10.99 to 14.99 per lb. in just the last few days. Congratulations Safeway. You now have the highest priced Pecans on The Eastside. On my way out I stopped by Starbucks to use one of my free drinks on my Gold Card and they don't accept the free drink coupons. We have been loyal shoppers at this location for over 5 years, this last year downtown Bellevue has seen a boom in housing and will continue for at least a couple more years based on the apartments being built. The problem is Safeway does not staff the check out counters based on peak customer traffic, time and time again I wait in long lines. I have brought this up to management but nothing has changed, I guess they want me to shop at QFC, just up the road. I can't be the only one frustrated with this issue, so finally I will go public since speaking to them internally has not helped. HIRE some extra checkers from 5-7pm!! If you don't others will find better options. read more

TO THE LADIES BEWARE OF PERVERTED WORKERS: I've been coming to this Safeway mainly for lunch since it opened. I've been hit on multiple times by degenerate Safeway workers. Just because I respond to their friendly greeting, doesn't mean I want to hook with them. One chubby guy who stock shelves kept following me around the store with his cart then he stopped after I kept ignoring him & kept glaring at him to make sure he got a clue to leave me the *uck alone...& he did!! But I sometimes see him creeping around corners of some of the aisles. One other self-checkout cashier, an older guy, was also aggressively, lustfully staring at me in a creepy manner up until I did the same thing & he also got the clue to back off!!! Oh, also beware of those creepy older men (customers) too who come out from the corner of an aisle when you least expected. Ladies, if you know what a true gentleman is then you would know what I'm talking about here. On the other hand, if you don't know what high-quality-made sandwiches are, then you would definitly buy the ones here at their deli. I don't particularly like the store brand bread that they use off the shelves (.99 cents for a loaf), cut it in half & charge $3.99+ for it!! Stupid! Their sub sandwiches: the ones cut in half & the large ones are really not that appealing to eat. I think they save them in the refrigerator & restock all their already-made sandwiches, hence, their weekend "Tasting Event" --for sandwiches & soups where you get free soda & chips if you buy their sandwiches. Well, you might as well head over next door to Subway & get a $5 Footlong...at least their breads taste better, fresh out of the oven. read more

I decided to order my wedding cake from Safeway and I was blown away. I had tried other cake places and though they were good the pricing was way too high. The cake I received was AMAZING! Not only was it inexpensive but it was so delicious. Everyone attacked the cake table to get another slice. On multiple occasions people asked me where I had gotten it from and were surprised to hear it was from here. I plan on getting another one for my moms birthday! read more

When people say this Safeway is the safest, i have to laugh at that because there has been so much crime going on in broad daylight infront of the store by the garage entrance in 2014. It really isn't as safe as people say it is. None the less, the store is indeed gorgeous! The inside is huge and the selection is wonderful. Even better than the Safeway on bell red road. The lines for checkout are indeed long but that doesn't bother me because Safeway has great deals. Better than leading competitors like QFC. I rather go to Safeway more than anywhere else. I shop often in Bellevue and this Safeway is great. The deli like many Safeway stores could use some work but overall i enjoy my visit. But the safety is an issue at this store and not to mention how many accidents i've seen from people pulling out of the garage area. Me almost being one of those victims. Its a decent store that deserves a decent score. read more

This safeway is top of line. I like their stock of merchandise better than at other locations. I think I even saw a guy delievering bag of onions to restaurant next to it. That's good service. Prices does change on sales, but if got here right, I get great prices. Checkers seem more normal and energetic here which makes mood better. read more

So this looks like a decent Safeway. There's underground parking, the store is large, everything looks clean, and Safeway carries everything you'd expect it to carry. Come on, it's a Safeway. But I don't really like the customer service. I've gone here three times in the morning on weekdays when the customer load has been pretty light. There's no real excuse for bad service at these times unless someone's not at work yet. The first time the check out guys (both cashiers, actually) packed things like 10 year olds. Multiple plastic bags to hold light loads and mixing things together like 1 frozen food into a bag full of dry boxes (makes them soggy) and some vegetables in with the cans (smashed lettuce), etc. It took TWO of them to do this. Wow. Okay, I can live with this, it happens at other stores too. So the second time the cashier tried to NOT give me all my bags. He insisted the first two bags belonged to the guy in front of me and he was going to hold them for him. I had to argue with him until he finally looked at my receipt and saw that he had indeed charged me for these items. No apologies, just gave me the bags. Now it's getting stupid. The third time I went here the pharmacist refused to sell me the behind the counter drugs. You know, the sudafed type stuff that you have to sign for and show them your id. I buy these regularly, and have done so since they made Allegra-D nonprescription. (Yes, my doctor knows about it and is fine with it.) There was one box left of 30 tablets and the pharmacist insisted that it was too high a concentration/amount and she could not sell it to me. I asked her if the legal amount to sell had changed recently. She said no. I told her I bought that exact same amount all the time in California and Washington at Target. She said they must have ordered it by mistake. I asked her why there was only one box then, and what did they do with the other ones? Sold them? She refused to answer and would not look at me. I can only assume I looked like a a drug dealer at that point and pitied my two kids for being seen with me. I bought the exact same box at a Target a week later, and have found Bartell Drugs and RiteAid have no problem selling this product in this size. So, why should I patronize a store that goes out of its way to make you feel like you're stealing or that you're making meth with your allergy medication? read more

When I first moved to Bellevue three years ago, I was uber excited about this Safeway. It was neat, clean & the employees were really nice. I frequent this store several times a week whether for the quick run in or the big grocery shopping trips. I'm there ALL THE TIME. I recently discovered their sandwich deli. They make some yummy sandwiches. The free sandwich deal is pretty awesome too. But anyways, I get a sandwich several times a week and I am getting increasingly turned off by the service I recieve from the employees at the deli counter. First, they all don't make the same sandwich the same way. Some make it better than others. Can we get everyone on the same page so somedays I don't have a soggy mess of a sandwich? Also, Yue (I think thats their name) is very rude. Usually I end up standing there for a couple minutes while she has her head down working on a platter of some sort before she will even acknowledge that someone is standing there. After the lack of acknowledgement she makes it seem like I am interrupting her day by asking her for a sandwich. I wish there was better customer service at the deli counter. read more

The starbucks in safeway is the worst one which I ever went.I bought a tea from seattle.When I went back to bellevue,I found they give me the wrong one.They gave me a unsweet tea.I went to starbucks in safeway about 6pm on Monday 5/12 ,I asked to add some syrups,However,there is a tall white and stupid guy said,you needed to pay 0.55 to add syrups.He said I need to pay for it,It is just 0.55 dollars.I feel so bad about it.I paid for 5 dollars to get a tea.Why I need to pay again?His service is so bad.I will never go to this store again. read more

This is my normal grocery store and it's a lot like most Safeways, although it's a bit on the larger size and has a very nice butcher/fish section as well as a great liquor section. (With free wine tastings on Fridays!) My only real complaint is that I feel like it takes *forever* to get anything at the little counter in front where people buy lotto tickets/get change/rent DVDs. But other than that, clean, big, and quite nice! read more

one of my buddy's where walking to get a cart near the door with one of the plates of sushi you get at the store and one of the employes accused him of stealing it because he was walking towards the door to get the cart but just keep in mind he hasn't left the store he then talked to the guy and told him he hasn't left the store so that isn't stealing then the employe said if I ever see you here again I'm calling the cops. I am just visiting Bellevue. It was too dark after i finishined shopping that I didnt want to walk back to my place. i had asked cashier Yasmaine to help me get a taxi. She did not only give me the number but she also assisted me to call. To top it off, she asked her colleague to make sure I get a taxi as she was going on break. Slow service, unresponsive employees, and never enough people around to help customers. They should probably hire twice as many people. Always long lines and hardly any checkers, and the ones that are there are sloowwww. i would have rated this store at least a 4 a few years back when I first started shopping here. Rewinding back to that time, I use to love to shop here, store is very close to me which is convenient since I don't own a car, the store is very clean, fresh nut bar and bulk products offered and for the most part most of the employees were friendly. Today, I cannot stand to set foot in the store unless I absolutely have to. I have chosen to venture further out and to pay more for my groceries at other stores like Whole Foods and QFC because Safeway is just not up to standards any longer. Let's start with what they offer, im a vegetarian who continually tries to eat clean, Safeway use to provide me with all the goods I needed, until the bulk section and nut bar where removed. Really?!! That's when I had to start looking at other stores for my nuts, beans, raw almond butter, and steel cut oats. Next, fruits and veggies use to be up to standards. Now it's not uncommon to find fruits and veggies with mold growing on them, yuck! So without these things, it's pointless for me to shop there. Third, a couple of the cashiers are just down right nasty, and get on the defensive when you ask them for help. I'm not sure what there names are, but if I MUST go into the stores, anytime I see any of these two employees, I just want to run out of the store. You will find these them working at the self checkout, they both wear glasses, I'm sure you know who they are. So if you don't mind ok produce, unfriendly cashiers and less fresh products this is the place for you. If not, your better off going to qfc in Bellevue or Whole Foods. read more
