A few weeks ago, my car windshield became cracked while driving on the road via a small rock. Unfortunately, it caused a streak which meant everything had to be replaced. So I decided to get it done quickly instead of wait until it was time for my State inspection in July. Let's see how everything went. I've dealt with Safelife for years and their service has always been great. What's even better is I can use my auto insurance to help cover repairs. With mine, it's just a $0 deductible. And they work with the insurance company as well. So using them was a no brainer. For this appointment, I dropped off my car at the Hampton location for the windshield replacement while I traveled to Virginia Beach. Almost 2 hours later, my car was ready for pickup with no problems. Without insurance, I was looking at spending nearly $800. Thank God mine covered everything with no money spent. Here's the facts: I've had 3 windshields replaced here all had to be done on site because of the technology cars have these days with the sensors and cameras installed behind the rear view mirror, a recalibration is necessary. That task cannot be done in your driveway. In any case, each time the receptionist was friendly and had all of my paperwork ready to go. If you decide to wait for your car, be prepared that the waiting room isn't very large. There's a Gender Neutral restroom available and some complimentary coffee. Each time it took about 1 1/2 - 2 hours for the job to be completed. The technicians have been extra professional and ready and willing to answer any questions about the repair/replacement and/or about the warranty. Safelite does great work. Recommended. read more

Sometimes it's a good experience but this time with this Company it wasn't. When you schedule a mobile or at home window replacement, what does that mean? It means you don't have time to go into the local location. (Time is money.) But I'm here getting another window installed. New window cracked the night after the installation. Had an appointment at 1pm for a warranty repair from an installation the previous week, 2 days later the windshield had a stress crack that started at the edge a waited over an hour before they even looked at the vehicle only to tell me that warranty was void because of a chip no anywhere near the stress crack, there was no manager available and the girl at the front I believe her name was miste was so rude and unhelpful then they told me to go to the Williamsburg location because they spoke to the manager and that she was there and might be able to help me since they installed it so I drove the 40 minutes there and the manager wasn't even there. Nowhere in the warranty does it say that a chip will voice the warranty. read more

Bad customer service! Had an appointment window today 8am - 1pm (that's 5 hours) and the technician never showed! I called in at 1:15 to try and find out what happened only to be told my technician had an emergency. So, I guess NO ONE could be bothered to contact me to let me know??? Instead I sit around for FIVE HOURS for nothing and then I have to track you down. Then I'm told I would have to reschedule. I can tell you this... the rescheduled appointment better not have a 5 hour window. This is ridiculous!!! read more

Took two months to get my glass put in. Multiple cancellations due to different issues. Don't try to call you can't get ahold of anyone. Worst experience I e had and they think a free pair of wipers is worth all the time I waisted dealing with them. If it wasn't for my insurance asking me to use them I would have moved on to another company. If you have time to waist and don't need to call for any reason this place is for you. Also the closing time are day to day. One day they tell me they are open till 8 the next they are rushing me to come get my truck because they are closing at 5. Would give zero stars read more

Scheduled appt for windshield replacement. Showed up to appt early and waited an hour after appt time before my car was touched. Then tech gets me to check out the replacement windshield. He pointed out an obvious scratch in the new windshield. I did not want to pay for damaged goods, so I asked them to order another one. The 2nd one was delivered the morning of my 2nd appt. It was damaged as well. The tech said it happens often. Them receiving damaged windshields. It would appear that there is no, or very little quality control measures in Safelite's process. I spoke with other customers only to find out that they were having the same problems. The time I spent dealing with this issue will never be returned to me. Went here after my car failed inspection due to a crack along the drivers side and the technician that fixed my window was able to do so in about 30 minutes. I loved the quick service. I also liked the scheduling online aspect! Would recommend and mention if I knew any one with a crack! It was a tad bit pricey, especially when the crack was caused by those trucks on the road but it was cheaper than my dealership and with the quick and friendly service, the price was worth it! read more

Got zero help since March 4th called customer service who claimed they reached over to district never helped. They seem to ghost you. This has been documented flooded since then and nobody seems to help. Now im getting kick back for invoices. I had the company do line by line to show related damages. My car is now smelly and starting to get moldy. And still has water. I filed my claim through USAA and this has been a horrible experience. I'm never moving forward everyone simply passing the buck to pay for my vehicle detail. Other than that George was a very nice technician fat fixed the faulty install. If I could give the company no stars I would. They were suppose to come to my house but they give you a window of 8am - 6pm which is absolutely crazy! I called and they said they would arrive between 3-330 at 430 no one showed up and when I called back they couldn't reach the technician. I had to cancel my appointment and reschedule the next day to go to the shop where I had to stay for almost 2 hours. I have wasted an entire day plus 2 hours another day to get my windshield fix. First let me start off saying that the young ladies working the counter were very nice and professional upon walking in but when it comes to a business and appointments what is the point of having appointments if you don't follow them or use them to get your customers in and out as scheduled. I took my car in for a simple recalibration since they couldn't get it calibrated the first time when I got my new windshield. I ended up sitting there for 1.5 hours after my scheduled appointment time before being seen. I definitely don't recommend going into the shop in but definitely recommend safelights repairs, warranty setup, and having the technician come to you that way it's quick, no hassle, and you and your car are the focus. My wife had to have windshield glass teplased due to rock from vehicle cracking it. Could not be done mobile due to safelite stating camera has to be adjusted in there shop. When repaired had to wait. Because i cant drive two cars at once lol. 3 house later it was compleat. I did not notice but wife did that new glass had waves on passenger side of new windshield. Scheduled windshield repair for 3/4/23. Wasted my entire day and stayed home from work. Received multiple confirmations from Safelite via email and text that my appt was anywhere from 12-6pm. Multiple. I finally called at 5pm and I just got robotic response that my appt was 12-6pm. No one ever showed. It's 4 days later and and I still haven't heard a peep from Safelite. I've had a claim open for over a month and I've been unable to get my windshield replaced. Three times already they have called me 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment to tell me that they don't have my windshield, they don't know when they will, and they'll contact me when they do.... But they never contact me. They knew they didn't have the part the day before, and the morning of yet they wait until I'm already in my car on the way. It's been a complete waste of time trying to go through SafeLite. Now I'm coming up on a due inspection sticker knowing my car won't pass because I need my windshield replaced. After multiple modes on contact (email, text message and phone call) to confirm my first appointment when I showed up I was told that a part didn't come in so my appointment was rescheduled for today. Again I received multiple modes on contact to confirm my appointment, the call center lady who called my yesterday to confirm my appointment even called the location to confirm the part had arrived. So this morning I received yet another call just to find out that my appointment is cancelled because they have not received the windshield. So I explained that the lady who called me yesterday called the location to confirm that all parts were received, only to be told that the call center lady is a LIAR and she never called the location! It all makes sense because when you walk in to the building it's a plexiglass between you and the employees with a small opening that you have to bend down to talk through! They did not do all that was required to finish the job. Arrived within the time frame. Installed the windshield quickly. Did not clean up the job site. There is glass all over the inside of the engine compartment. I got several cuts to my arms do my fluid checks. The windshield washers worked well and now the left side doesn't work and the right side just drips. They were asked to reinstall some weather stripping that was on the trim below the windshield and they stated that was not part of the job. I guess when you think you have a monopoly on the glass business you don't worry about the details. We were also not told about a glass disposal fee and a 49.95 road service fee. They also sent me a coupon for a 20.00 off if I make an appointment for service, after I had already booked the appointment and paid for the job in advance. read more

Literally the worst service ever. They called last week to tell me they didn't have the glass in stock and rescheduled my appointment a week out. I don't understand why they didn't have it in when I made my appointment in advance. Then they rescheduled to the week later. They never called me and never came. I had to call them to ask when they were coming. Who picks up the phone and says just hello? It's so weird. They said they couldn't contact them and shortly assured me they would call me. My car was not ready for almost 3 hours and nobody came out to let me know the status of my car or to apologize about the extended wait. Problem being, me and my SO were in the vehicle, facing the driveway. Got a c shaped crack from an 18 wheeler while on the interstate. Had an appointment the next day through usaa. Patch job wasn't properly done. Still had gaps in the crack.
