The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars was due to the wait time for the first available appointment. The TV commercials make it seem like you can get same day service, but you'll be lucky if you can get an appointment in a week. They crew came on time, communicated well, and did quick quality work. Thanks to the close relationship with my insurance, windshield replacement was no cost to me. read more

I brought my Tesla in to have the windshield replaced after noticing a long crack, about 16 inches in length. I went through my insurance for the replacement, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. Communication was excellent from booking the appointment, to dropping off my car, to receiving updates when the repair began and when it was completed. Everything was handled promptly and professionally via text, which made the experience very convenient. The repair took about five hours, and they did a great job. I have no complaints at all. I would definitely use their services again and highly recommend them to others. The customer service was great!! read more

Stopped in after I discovered a leak *somewhere* in my car that was causing water to come in and pool in the back seat. After a lot of diagnostics, a buddy of mine who used to work in auto repair mentioned I should get the windshield checked. I called and was able to bring my car in that day and they were able to test the windshield seal and determined there was no leaks. Very professional, as they did not need to extend any courtesy to me. Will be having my business moving forward should I need anything read more

A rock hit my windshield while driving on the Southern State Parkway and the crack ran down the glass. GEICO sent me to Safe in Freeport. I received service far above my expectations. The technicians were extremely accommodating. I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment and they explained to me what needed to be done. They have a comfortable waiting area with WiFi. I listened to SiriusXM on my phone played games, and watched a movie all on my iPad. I even got some crocheting done. After about 3 hours, my car was done. I highly recommend this location! Thanks guys! read more

Safelite - Nice new clean glass - Auto Glass Services Near Me - Freeport, New York

I can't speak for all Safelite locations, but I can give my opinion on the Safelite located at 210 W Sunrise Hwy in Freeport, NY. On November 14th, a Safelite technician came to my house to replace my windshield and in doing so, he damaged my car (removed paint from one side of the frame around the windshield). I immediately called my insurance company to report the damage, who in turn connected me with Safelite customer service. First, I was told that someone would come to take pictures of the damage, then I was told that I needed to bring the car in so the manager could assess the damage. Due to a family emergency and the fact that I work in the city, I wasn't able to get to Safelite in Freeport until Friday, November 21st. The manager looked at the missing paint area and assessed that the damage was done prior to the replacement. He then preceded to show me pictures supposedly taken prior to making the replacement. Needless to say, I know that there was no paint missing from my car prior to the technician replacing the windshield. Safelite's adamant deniability is appalling. I will never use their service again and will never recommend them to anyone. I will also be posting my complaint to every social outlet available. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday early afternoon to inquire about replacing the windshield on my 4Runner. Came in because the website clearly states "rest easy while we verify your coverage and file your claim." Was told by the young man that they don't deal with insurance and that it would cost $1000 out of pocket. What gives. read more

Perfectly done. Reasonable time. No leaks and most importantly, the inspection & registration stickers were replaced without any damage.

Unfortunately beware.. High priced, unreliable even after confirming appointment, was canceled on the day of. Ruining my plans and offering to fix my glass on my car 4 days later; The excuse was noone was available. Sad, you want to support local businesses and this is what you get. Note to owner: Hire reliable people so that you don't loose business, prices are high and im so happy i did not pay before getting the work done(which is an option) Definitely don't do it. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

BEWARE...they use after market windshields which many lease companies do not accept. If picked up you will be responsible for the cost of an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) windshield. read more

The crew at Safelite was prompt, kind, professional-and best of all, efficient! They estimated that my wait time would be 1- 1.5 hours, which seemed reasonable. Well, 40 minutes later, they came back in the waiting room to tell me that it was done. Their workmanship and professional are top notch. I could not have asked for a better, more stress-free experience. I highly recommend Safelite of Freeport. read more

I recently went there to have my car done. The language and tone I heard throughout the process of waiting for my car was absurd. I can't believe this type of unprofessional behavior is allowed in such a big company. I had a glass change and it was covered by insurance. read more

Another amazing job by Safelite of Freeport! Mark the master technician took care of my classic Mustang as if it were his own! Jerry the manager superseded everything and is a pleasure to deal with, he took care all the insurance information/payment seamlessly & even gave me a ride home when I dropped it off, it's as if the windshield was never broken! They even took my inspection and registration stickers and put on the new one! I can see clearly now! Thank you once again safelite!! Today is 8/10/18 freaking pebble totally cracked my windshield on my brand new 2018 Mazda 6, had the guys here to do it at my house, and less than 30 minutes I'm good to go with an expert installation! I could not be happier with Safelite of Freeport! Jerry the manager runs a tight ship and has fantastic employees working for him. read more

Derrick was very punctual & completed his task efficiently. Great service & I was very happy with the job that was completed.

OMG. #1, too many commercials on TV for safelite and all the supposedly good work they are known for. 100% NOT true. I know nothing about glass repair, car glass installation or recalibrating the necessary software for a modern car, but evidently neither does Safelite of Freeport. Our car had a unrepairable crack in the front windshield. Upon dropping off the car, everything seemed OK, but once picking up the car, it was evident, they did NOT properly calibrate the necessary software for the vehicle nor properly reinstalled the rain sensor. We brought the vehicle back and they "supposedly" recalibrated it but it still did not work. We had no choice but go to the vehicle manufacturer and they recalibrated the software, but the rain sensor only worked for a short while. The REAL problem was the improper installation by Safelite of the adhesive/rubberized material to hold the rain sensor onto the glass. The ONLY way this was finally properly fixed, my son, who formerly worked for this cars manufacturer, reinstalled, this time properly, the adhesive material for the sensor and now, it works perfectly. As for Safelite? I would NEVER recommend such bad workmanship. read more

Great service and staff - I had my windshield replaced here recently, and was very pleased with the outcome. After the work was complete, the associate who did the work explained what to do and what to expect afterwards. Recommended. read more

I had Jake come to my house and he was very professional and did clean work. My windshield was replaced and I was back on the road. In addition Jerry was my contact throughout the process and returned all of my messages in a professional and timely manner! read more

I originally had the glass replaced by a mobile tech. After the install there was wind/water leakage and the rain sensor was installed incorrectly. I brought it to the Freeport shop for repair. The replacement glass was not delivered to the store but the tech already removed the incorrectly installed windshield and dropped it. Without any windshield I was forced to wait at the facility while they drove to get another windshield. What was promised to be a 1.5 hour install has become a 5+ hour repair. The only response from customer care is that they are sorry but the repair would be completed in one day. Because of the delay I had to take off more time from work and pay someone to take a cab and pickup my daughter from daycare. I will never use safelite again based in the customer care response. I understand that mistakes happen but after 4+ mistakes I expect more. read more

I set my appointment up online the day before. I dropped my car off and was called back to pick it up in approximately an hour. I had a parking sticker and inspection sticker that were both neatly transferred to the new windshield. No complaints here. read more

I Recently went there for a rock chip on my windshield. Pedro the technician said he would fill the chip mark and he recommended that I don't change the windshield. Bottom line, very professional and very honest. The shop and reception area was immaculate. They will have my business in the future. I would highly recommend Safelite Auto Glass read more

excellent service . Derrick came At the designated time , explained everything and completed the work fast and clean. Highly recommend

I would give less than 1 star if it were possible. Their commercials are so full of easy promises that make it seem like using their business will see your broken fixed promptly , even on the same day. First I had to wait 3 days and when they came they brought the wrong glass and piece I required was in New Jersey and I wouldn't be able to come back until the following week. When they came around again supposedly with the correct glass as ordered by the first unsuccessful installer it was still unbelievably wrong and they fed me the same line that the correct piece of glass was again in a New Jersey warehouse. They told me me it was going to yet another few days. This time I said no, forget it . This had gone along too long and I was going to use Star glass repair on Meechum ave. Star happened to be excellent. They ordered the glass and it was in the next day. It took about 30 minutes and it was done while I waited. Don't fall for Safelite's promises of efficiency. They didn't even care about stringing you along and making promises they can't deliver on. read more

I needed my windshield changed, and was able to schedule service through my insurance company. I received an appointment the same week I called. Initially I was discouraged because I received a 5 hour time frame, but the day of, I received a call from my technician giving me a 15 minute window so we didn't have to sit around and wait all day. We received both e-mail and text confirmations with the technicians picture. I watched with my daughters while he replaced the windshield and our tech was happy to answer all the questions myself and my 3 year old could think of. We are very satisfied with our service. We also have a lifetime warranty on our new windshield, which is fantastic! read more
