Ridiculous customer service when called was told glass did not come in to mobile service location. Had a rock hit my windshield and where else to go other than Safelite. Made an appointment online on Wednesday 1/1/25 - New Year's Day for Friday to replace my windshield at my home location from 8:30 - 12:00. Promptly at 8:15 AM Friday the tech called me and ask if he could pick my car and work on it at the shop because it was too cold to work outside. So, I told him I world bring it to his location in Westbury. Arrived after 9:00 AM, they took my car immediately. About 2 hours later all was finished, new windshield, all stickers replaced, and my E-Z Pass and all was recalibrated with safety features and camera. The tech explained what was done and no car wash, rotating tires or mechanical repairs for 3 days. They had all my insurances information which I submitted when I made the appointment. Luckily, I have full glass coverage. I was very impressed that they had my windshield which was shipped overnight since New Year's Day when I made the appointment was a holiday. They made the entire process as easy as possible even contacting my insurance company and processing the claim. Safelite is the way to go for glass repair, they are best at it. The staff were very polite, efficient and professional. They are Great!!! read more

I had a small knot filled today by Safelite. The video on their website shows how the process fills the hole, stops cracks and makes it invisible....it doesn't. It was a waste of $171 dollars, it looked like they did nothing at all, I didn't see them use a pressure tool, I could have bought the repair system off amazon and did a better job. My 2025 car sustained a cracked windshield from loose sediment on a highway. My insurance covers the glass replacement but little did I know that the default is "after market" glass. New cars which require calibration after installation and rely on various safety features do not always function well with after market glass. These guys saw that and pushed my insurance to approve the OEM car manufacturer glass replacement. It was no cost to me and the end result was a new windshield without any car glitches afterward. I also want to mention the lengths that these wonderful people went to make sure my job was completed when I needed it and the professionalism and expertise which they showed at every step. Wendy is fantastic and arranged for me to come in before the shop opened so that I would be able to get to my job on time. The technician, Wilson, is nothing short of a gentleman and professional and made certain that the job was done right and that I understood every aspect of the aftercare. ( this told to me by Tom manager in Farmingdale that now is the new location. ) As it was I called the (800) , got AL ( no live reps) directed me to Web site. 22 minutes on site having to "Chat" with rep to go through prompts Note: check for Promo coupons) I got an apt at Westbury. Heading West on Old County road ( pass Bcu) it's on your left. Wendy is so nice and helpful, she gets an extra star from me. ( keep her) Yes I got the talk , about how a fix from a rock on a windshield window could crack and might not be cosmetically perfect. Hassad , a sweet young man did the repair in a timely manner. While glad I did something to fix it, it is not a clean job with resin smeared on the outside. Fortunately it is not in driving eyes view. ( I was told that it's not the mechanic but that's how the machine they use works. So, I guess it will have to do. Also noted was that if I ever have a further window problem the cost of this job ( I feel very reasonably priced tx) would go to future repair. NOTE I can not update this review as it is too soon. This is the worst safelite ever don't go. Manger and staff are horrible rude and preferred to argue . Install glass that was too small and has a clear edge original black to hide frame and windshield bonding material, damage paint on the frame of windshield. Came up with excuse instead of solutions. Told me to accept because it will be like this on every after market windshield. Plus no mention I was not getting OEM, insurance was expecting OEM Safelite pocketing money most likely. They need to find a new glass vendor. Refused to give me the quality control manger name and information. Save yourself from headache and find another glass fitter. Below is picture of before and after, look at the gap on new glass and compare to original and paint damage from the removal process. I responded great, car in in driveway and wife is home with the key. He read msg at 6:25. He never came to door to ring bell. Wife saw van and walked out the house only to see him driveway. I dropped off my suv to fix a crack in my windshield at the appointment time which was given to me. After a few hours we received emails, text messages and 2 calls saying the car is ready. Drove 20 minutiae back to saflife with my wife and 3 young kids to pick up her vehicle. Upon checkout, the receptionist noticed something was off and spoke to a technician and came back and said the windshield wasn't recalibrated correctly and it would be another 1 hour! I asked to speak to the manager or supervisor. Someone came out with a lame excuse and no apologies and said the job wasn't complete. With no choice I had to have them complete the one job I left the car there for. Terrible service. My windshield broke in an accident, and I had safelite come to repair. I paid the money out of pocket, which is fine. But then, this new glass that was now in my windshield broke within 38 days exactly. Are you serious? they are not replacing your windshield with quality glass because that's ridiculous. The crack continued to spread rapidly. I called to make the appointment, the technician came and both times he came, (same guy from the initial replacement) he was incredibly rude. How could you possibly show up to replace my windshield for a second time, and then upon arrival tell me I need to make another appointment? If you have a new car, your car probably has glass coverage. For my Flintstones Jeep? I have the basic of basic insurance, so glass coverage is coming out of my pocket. I own a 2019 Camry. I had an appointment on 7/23/22 at the Westbury location. Front windshield replacement. At 11am I brought in the car they asked m if I was going to wait for it. I said yes. 5 pm came and the car was not done. They said they could not finish the job due to not being able to calibrate the sensor for the drive assist safety sensor. So i was asked to take the car like that and bring it on Monday since they do not open on Sundays. So instead i left the car and had someone pick me up. On Monday i get no call about the car so at around 1pm i swing by the shop. I see my car in the lot I asked if it was done. They said not yet. It needed to be clean. So i come back 2hours later get the car. The car was not vacuum and it had a bunch of glue stains. Even worse the sensor for the drive assist was not working and it was mounted crooked. I tried calling the shop. They did not pick up the phone so i call the 1800 customer service and explained the issues they told me they can do nothing because the shop has not close out the work order or ticket. So on Tuesday i go by the shop again explained them the issues and they tell me that the reason for the sensor not working is because it was not an oem or Original windshield glass. And that for me to leave the car so they can replace the windshield again. So I did. 10 days later the car. Was finished. Everything now was fine. But the biggest disappointment was. My wife sometimes drives my car. And I keep $100 bill on the accessories drawer of the car for any small emergencies (flat tire or a jumpstart etc. so when i when to look for the cash it was gone. That is so sad. You can trust people anymore. I did not notify customer service and or management at the location because I don't want to cause any ones job or problems but thats just sad. read more

I made an online appt for home visit glass replacement scheduled for two days later between 8:30am and 1:30pm. I gave my number to be called. On the scheduled day I left the car at home and walked two miles to work. Weather was overcast but dry. At 1:20pm, I get a call from the store rep saying they have an opening and I cd bring my car in now. When I told him the scheduled service was at my house, he claimed that someone had called me telling me that bc it was raining, no one cd come to my house. I told him that no one contacted me and it only started raining at 12:30pm, which meant that he had four hours to do the job that morning. This review is long overdue, my windshield had a crack and my husband attempted to fix it by buying those windshield repair kit, but unfortunately unable to, could be because it was winter time and on one of the step we have to leave the car under the sun for few minutes. Anyways, last minute my husband called Safelite and scheduling was easy, they gave us an option of coming into our house or bringing the car to the office/ store... we brought it in, the waiting was not that bad, there were 4 other customers in the waiting area and we thought we'll be there at least an hour or so, 20-30 minutes and we were called that our car is ready, the waiting area has a television and coffee machine, so the wait is bearable. Summery: installed wrong windsheild, damaged my car, left incomplete job, put my safety at risk, refused to take responsibility Got my windshield on my 2019 Rav4 replaced at the Westbury location in May 2022 and noticed the automatic rain sensor wasn't working a few days after leaving the lot. I informed the manager, Chris, and he ordered the part free of charge. Fast forward to late June 2022 when I went to the shop to get the rain sensor "replaced". I sat there for 2 hours, constantly being told "we do not know what is going on, we have to recalibrate the car," "the recalibration isn't working, we have to contact the dealer," "all the lights on your dashboard are lit up and you have to go to the dealer." Chris, the manager, assured me that he will cover the expenses at the dealer. Before I drove off the lot I asked, is the car safe to drive and are the safety features working? I was told "yes." That was a LIE - safety features were not working. The car also didnt feel right while driving. All the lights on my dashboard were on. I went to my Toyota dealer where I was told the fuse is blown and they will have to take apart my car to assess the issue, and possibly replace the harness. Big deal, big money. Chris then refused to take responsibility and says the problem was a pre-existing issue. So why not inform me of the issues before doing work on the car? They had multiple opportunities to tell me before they made the issue worse. Gina (another manager) even called me rude over e-mail...I never even spoke to her. I had to get my insurance company involved and Toyota figured out the issue. So it turns out that the windshield that Westbury Safelite put on my car was not the correct windsheid for the car model and was installed INCORRECTLY. When Safelite installed the windsheild the technician MOVED my car's fuse box to make the windsheild fit (causing those "pre-existing issues"). The windsheild that Safelite installed was NOT even compatible with a rain sensor - so why did they have me wait hours to "get it fixed?" I guess that's a mystery that will never be solved. But what was solved (not by safelite) was how UNSAFE this situation was and how the management at Westbury Safelite failed to take responsibility or apologize for their NEGLIGENCE for putting my safety at risk read more

After few days of the windshield replacement, all my cars sensor lights, including air bag, blind spot, brake, tire, etc went blinking like a Christmas light! I took the car to the Lexus dealer ship. The car stated there for 2 days and now finally they found out the issue! the issue is because the safelite windshield replacement. they did a poor job to replace the windshield and all the water went into the vehicle, the water damaged the electric sensors. the service department from the lexus dealer told me this was not a ordinary problem they always see. it will costs thousands to fix!!!! now i m dealing with the safelite to claim the replacement warranty and they will send a tech to the lexus dealer ship to take a look at the car! this is the biggest mistake that i used safelite to replace the windshield.... now im facing a big problem and hassle to deal with the car dealer, geico insurance and safelite claim!!! Absolutely awful location. Unfortunately because of the kind of windshield I have I had to bring my car into the Westbury location, instead of having the repair done offsite. I brought my car in for the first time for a crack in the corner of my windshield by my inspection sticker. I was told when I dropped off early morning that I would receive texts when my car was ready but to ignore them until I receive a call when my car was ready, the call never came, I started calling at 4 PM because the location closes at 5 PM, I had to call multiple numbers including customer service to get someone on the phone to be told my car was finished hours prior. I left and didn't notice the sound of wind coming through my windshield until I got onto a highway the next day and hit a higher speed than I drive on a local road. I had to call to make another appointment. Calling to make this appointment was a nightmare because the automated system doesn't connect you to a human for problems with service already performed and every single prompt hung up on me. It took me over an hour to finally get through to someone who could help. Show up for my second appointment for them to tell me that the glass was done incorrectly and that a piece was broken on the seal around the windshield and that a new part/windshield would have to be ordered to correct the problem. Came in for a THIRD scheduled appointment and before I left the mechanic informed me that the WRONG windshield was ordered and I'd have to come back for a 4th visit. 4 days of work missed to fix a simple crack which is literally the only service Safelite performs- it's mind blowing! My windshield requires recalibration and the windshield ordered was one that didn't need recalibration. How that could be screwed up when it was just supposed to be a reorder from my first visit- makes absolutely no sense. Not only was the wrong windshield ordered but apparently the original work was done very messy and some sort of glue was covering one of my safety sensors. I didn't know why my front collision assistance kept turning off when I was driving until after this visit. Show up for my FOURTH appointment and before I left I asked that a mechanic please check that the correct parts were ordered before I leave to avoid getting a call after I leave to tell me that another mistake was made. A mechanic obliges and goes to check the parts ordered only to tell me that the right parts were ordered but were delivered to HAUPPAUGE and that someone would have to go and pick up so it would be several hours until work starts on my car. At 4:15 PM I still hadn't received an update, I call and I'm told that the mechanic was having trouble recalibrating and that it would be about an hour before my car is done. I made sure that someone would be there after closing so I could pick up, was assured it wouldn't be a problem. I finally get a call at 4:55 PM that my car is ready. I picked up, so far no issues with my windshield but I'm waiting for it to just go flying off when I hit a highway at this point because why not? Charlene at the front desk is lovely and was the most helpful person. the mechanic on my 3rd visit who checked the parts that were ordered before I left was also great/knowledgeable but I didn't get his name. The manager Chris (?) after my first visit could care less that I didn't get a call all day after I told him I was told to wait for one and show up minutes before closing because someone dropped the ball. He had the audacity to ask for a positive review for the original mechanic who made the errors in the first place. I know from overhearing after my 3rd visit that the first mechanic is a mess and often makes mistakes that others have to correct. A manager never reached out after 4 appointments for 1 windshield, NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS LOCATION AND RECOMMENDING EVERYONE TO GO ELSEWHERE. read more

My daughters cars windshield had a huge crack in it. I called our insurance company who gave Safelite's Phone # and said that they were there working partners. I called Safelite and they gave me an appointment to come to our house which was super convenient. I got a window of between 8am and noon. Safelite gave updates via text message which was also great. I knew when tech was going to be at my house and a picture of the tech that was coming. The tech spent about 60-90 minutes doing the windshield and it was like new again. I should say that the tech really went all out considering it was the next day after the big snow storm and parking and getting an easy spot to work was extremely tough. The tech was very good and could not say enough nice things about him and safelite. I highly recommend Safelite Autoglass for all your auto car glass repairs and replaces. read more

This was my 3rd visit to our local Safelite location, this time for a hairline crack in the top of the windshield that was expanding. As with my last 2 experiences, the staff couldn't be more helpful and the work was completed in a timely manner and to my satisfaction. I can't even begin to imagine who there could be described as rude. While they can also come out to your office or home, I like having the work done at the shop. There is a huge waiting area with a big screen TV on the wall and assorted coffee and tea. read more

This place is the worst! Go to another location. It took them 6 visits to properly replace the windshield on my Lexus. Each time they told me my intermittent windshield wipers were working properly. Finally, they realized their windshield was too thin; so they had to install a Lexus windshield. The last Safelite installer had a belt buckle or a key chain on, which scratched the paint on both sides of my car. It cost me $2,000. to fix the damage! read more

The guys at Safelite AutoGlass in Westbury were awesome! I managed to bust a huge whole in my back windshield on a rainy Friday morning. I was worried about the interior of car because it was supposed to rain for the next few days. I called Safelite. They told me I could stop by at any time and they'd wrap my back windshield for me for no additional charge. When I arrived, they took in me in right away vacuumed the broken glass out of my trunk and wrapped it for me within 15 minutes. My car stayed dry all weekend and by Monday morning my glass was changed (and upgraded) - all for a reasonable price. Also, while I waited for my glass to be changed, I had to make a bunch of calls for work. Luckily no one else was in there so I had my computer out and was on the phone. So this review isn't for the technicians or for the lovely lady that was actually nice- Charline. I will try to summarize this as best as I can. I initially went to Freeport to fix glass. After arriving home, my son realizes the glass is chipped. I called Freeport & they asked I take it back for them to look at it . They tell me to make another appointment to replace . No apologies for the inconvenience but ok. So I decide to make an appointment closer to my job so it'll be easier to drop off & pick up. I get a call from Gina the assistant manager - who clearly needs another profession - tells me that there is no way the glass was initially installed that way - (so I'm a liar) & that I must do another claim . Didn't let me speak - telling me then take it back to Freeport . Then she decides to call Freeport to confirm they were going to change under the warranty - she should have done in the first place . I never get a call back from her stating she confirmed & will be worked on. I'm notified by email. Hours go by & I don't hear anything so I call right before lunch & I asked Gina is my car ready she say yes . When I get there it isn't ready & Gina said she assumed it was because it was there a long time . I had taken an Uber during lunch & wait almost another hour. I was late getting back to work . Hideous service! I was left waiting for two hours and when I was told my car was done I walked out to find that the windshield had not been repaired. Apparently, no one from the shop informed the front desk that a part needed to be ordered from the dealer and I was left to sit. What's more, after I left, I saw that the technician did much MORE damage to my windshield. I have attached a photo to show the over six inch crack Safelite put on my windshield while I wait for the part to come in. They have a lot of good will to make up for this mess. Update: after my windshield was repaired, I started hearing air entering the cabin when driving. This morning (4 months after I got Safelite "service"), the panel on the driver's side of the windshield fell off. It turns out that this panel was broken during service and reattached without replacement or repair. Safelite - the repair that keeps on taking! To clarify, this review is for this particular branch of Safelite. When contacted, Safelite customer service sent a mobile technician, Carl, to fix the issue while I was at work. The recent snowstorm Jonas made a good deal of damage on our new Rav 4 windshield. Upon calling our car insurance, i was told that glass replacement was covered by our policy (thank God!) and suggested to me this company. Co-workers have recommended same company as well so I agreed right away for an appointment to be scheduled. (Credit goes by the way by to Geico) Safelite is a nationwide auto glass repair company. One of the service I love about the company, is that there is no need to go to their facility as they could come to you and do the service where your car is located. They could perform the repair service while you are at work. A day prior to the appointment, I received an e-mail from the performing mobile technician about the details of the service. Part of the e-mail is the assurance of the company that they are sending a technician that could be trusted. They are doing background checks, driving record check and drug screening prior employing an associate. It is a relief knowing who to expect has been identified. True to his word, the mobile technician call before coming and expressed his expected arrival time. I was reluctant in the beginning to leave my car keys with him but he asked "if I am comfortable with it" that makes it a little comforting. The associate Stephen looks harmless, very polite and oh well, i have identified him fully with all his company and my insurance company e-mail as my supporting system. I made sure that I have a good view of his location to keep me at peace. The windshield glass has been replaced in about one hour and half work at my company's parking lot while I was working. Total service all in all - 2 hrs. That was the best and most efficient service i ever received. I received after few minutes thru e-mail my pre-authorized receipt of the service. Upon confirmation of the work done, he has given me chance to do a spot check , then a final receipt was sent to me. Job well done with very convenient service. By the way, it was the Westbury office technician who performed the task for today. Kudos to the team , salute to the technician Stephen. It is a recommendable company. There are few things more annoying that having a rock crack your windshield on the highway (cue the recent direct TV commercial - sitting in gum, getting rammed by a shopping cart, having a kid kick your airplane seat.. you get it). Safelite made the whole thing super easy! I've used this location twice- both times I booked online, they had next day openings, they took care of all my insurance info- and all I had to do was show up! The staff is so friendly and helpful, they even finished my windshield before the expected time frame (both times). I would definitely recommend this location! (Hopefully I don't need anymore windshield help-- but if i do, i will be back). read more

Very unprofessional and rude including the manager. Fist they never show up on the day at my home to replace it windshield. Then next day I called in to bring the car in. I wish if I have used the Range Rover Dealer. My truck has missing parts in it which covers the engine bonuts and windshield. I wish if they fixed the car at my home so at least I will watch them and make sure to put things properly back on. read more

This is the third time I am dealing with them for a broken windshield. Every single time they bring the wrong windshield the first two times now I'm waiting for the fourth time for them to come in. They don't even show up or call me yesterday then some guy calls me today off as if he's eating a sandwich while he's talking to me sounding like he's half underwater like he could care less about anything especially me or his job trying to reschedule the appointment and I told him sorry I'm going somewhere else. This place is terrible. Absolutely terrible. They have no clue what they're doing. Windshield replacement was completed same day. Total time was only 3 plus hours for removal, installation and calibration of the camera defensive driving system. The car was in same condition as I left it to them. They removed and reattached the inspection and registration stickers with no mess. The counter woman person I forgot her name. Sorry! was friendly and knowledgeable. The glass technician William did a fantastic job. Glass looks as it did when I picked it from dealer 2 years ago. Tech came to my location and offered to do the repair, but said the work would not be warrantied by Safelite. This basically came down to me being charged for the service, the mobile free, the disposal fee with no guarantees on the quality of the work. Not very ethical behavior if you ask me. Of course I refused this service. I do not recommend this behavior on Safelite's behalf. They did not call ahead to let me know they were coming, and showed up near the end of the window, so be ready to have your time wasted if you adjust your work schedule for the repair. read more
