He was very pleasant to deal with and he told me to talk to Jamie about transferring my insurance claim to Amity. She could not have been nicer and took care of everything. Irresponsible. My 77 yr mom called insurance for a cracked passenger window. They gave her Amity glass to do the replacement. Two installers came to the house. They installed the WRONG glass. They didn't even try to operate it before leaving. Mom realized it the next day when she used the car. It made loud noise like it was going to break. She called. They had her bring it to their shop in Amityville. They confirmed the wrong glass was installed. And not to use the window. They gave her an appointment. Tuesday after Memorial Day. 9am. When she got there. They did NOT have the glass. They did NOT call her and let her know. When she arrived for her appointment their excuse was... "we forgot Monday was a holiday." (I'm sure they didn't forget they had an extra day off) Now she has to go back again. How frustrating! read more

I called on Tuesday about getting a windshield replaced and they said no problem . told me to drop the Suburban off 1st thing Wednesday morning and i did . they called me at 10:00am and said the truck was done. i went to pick-up the truck and they did a Great Job. the truck was spotless - the workmanship of there shop is great and clean . when you call the office they treat you like family . My car window was shattered by the landscaping company. The company chose this business to make the repairs. After the VIN number was given it took 2 days to get the window needed. The guys need a garage or covering to repair the window due to possible showers in the weather forecast. I have never heard of a reputable glass company that didn't have a pop up tent for repairs. Since I don't have a garage the car was than scheduled to have the window fixed 1st thing in the morning the next day; come lunch time(12:15pm) I called to inquire and told the guys were on there way to make the repair but stopping for lunch first. The technician arrived at 3:10pm The job was completed at 4:40pm. While the window itself was replaced I am still finding glass pieces weeks later- the clean up was done poorly. read more

This is not going to be good. Matter of fact...it can't get any worse. I was given Amity's name by my insurance co. While visiting Long Island my windshield was hit by a rock and cracked. I called Amity and explained the situation and was told they could replace the windshield and for me to come in. I was very clear in explaining that I had a Subaru with and Eyesight system built into the windshield and asked if they could handle the re-calibration etc. I was assured by who I believe to be the owner's wife, that it would not be a problem. She said and I quote, " We do this all day long". Brought the car in, waited and the windshield was installed. Trying to cut a long story short, they installed an incorrect after market windshield which did not support the Eyesight system. It also did not allow for the proper re-mounting of the rear view mirror which was no longer able to be moved or adjusted AT ALL ! They simply jammed it up into the camera on the wrong shoe. (I had to drive back to South Carolina without a rear view mirror !! ) When I realized what happened I called Tom the owner and spoke with him. He was apologetic but that didn't make it better. I asked how his tech could let someone walk out of the shop knowing full well he slammed the project together incorrectly. Well, unfortunately it got worse. I had to leave Long Island to return home and upon arrival went to my Subaru dealer. His glass people ordered the correct windshield, took the old one out and discovered the mess within. Headers were damaged, clips broken off and to top it off the windshield was incorrectly installed !!! They of course had to re-calibrate everything. The windshield is now properly installed, programs up and running and I can drive safely with an adjustable rear view mirror. Amity should be ashamed. If you never check your techs work and don't offer current training this is what you end up with. Sadly, all you had to do was be truthful and tell me you were sorry but this was a job for a Subaru dealer and that you didn't have the equipment or trained personal to handle it. You could have lived without the money...ya think???? read more
