I needed to get it replaced so she could return to college the next day. Got their name on a list of preferred Auto Glass shops from my Insurance Co. and was lucky enough to try their number first. I was treated promptly and respectfully from the receptionist to the owner. They told me to come in the next morning and asked if I was going to wait or drop off the car and pick it up later on that day. Since I work in Brooklyn and live in Valley Stream, making it back by closing time was going to be a miracle in itself. They told me not to worry and that they would store the car in their secured lot overnight and I could pick it up when they opened the next morning. Since this was going to be covered by the glass coverage on our policy, I was prepared to do the insurance co. shuffle in order to have it paid without having to go into my pocket since this is what I was told when I added that option to my auto policy. I took the car in the next morning and sure enough, after I provided the claim # and fax # for my insurance company they took care of everything. They completed the work on time and held the car for me overnight (no additional charge) as they said they would. My car was waiting for me the next morning and the job was perfect. They even reapplied my EZ-Pass (in the same location I had it on the original windshield) in addition to the registration and inspection stickers. The new windshield was spotless - no finger prints or smudges inside or outside, no adhesive residue. A beautiful job indeed. I highly recommend this shop to all in need of auto glass work. I had one tiny chip in my windshield, and somehow Safelite turned that into nearly two weeks of cancellations, misinformation, and complete internal chaos. I was repeatedly told--incorrectly--that GEICO reported 6-7 chips, and my appointments were cancelled multiple times despite being marked "NOT to be cancelled." Every representative gave me different (and contradictory) information. I received email confirmations for wrong dates, wrong locations, and at one point an appointment scheduled for January 2026. When I spoke to the manager, she claimed she had "no record" of the updates I'd already confirmed with her staff. To top it off, the technician tried to cancel the day of my appointment because of "rain in the forecast," even though my appointment was in the afternoon and I clearly told them I have an enclosed, well-lit garage. He ended up arriving almost an hour late anyway. It is obvious Safelite has serious issues with communication, scheduling, and basic professionalism. I spent more time fixing their mistakes than they spent fixing my windshield. What should have been the simplest service turned into a completely avoidable, frustrating mess. I will not be using Safelite again and would not recommend them to anyone.
