Saumil is the best hookah maker I've had in ATX in a while. Zola is lucky to have him. Ambiance is fine. Service is good. Thanks.

After browsing nearby bars, we saw that W XYX was within walking distance so we decided to give it a try. W XYZ is in the lobby of the Aloft Hotel. The hotel has a contemporary modern feel which is also reflected in the bar. When we first arrived, it wasn't too busy, but it picked up as the night went on. Chris was behind the bar that evening. He provided some good recommendations on cocktails. I was surprised to see the number of cocktails on the menu. I decided to go with the Freshen Up while my friend went with the Thin Mint Cookie. My drink had cucumber syrup in it. I'm a sucker for cucumber so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't care for this drink. It was so mint forward from the creme de mint that it over powered the drink. I felt like I was drinking mouthwash. My friend enjoyed her drink and said it tasted like a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie in a glass. Though I didn't care for my cocktail, it wouldn't stop me from returning to try a different drink. I'll be sure to avoid any cocktails with creme de mint in the future.

While most…read morevisitors gravitate toward the energy of Rock Rose Avenue, this hidden gem sits just one street over, inside the lobby of the Aloft Hotel. If you don't know it's there, it's easy to miss. Stepping inside feels like walking into a stylish, oversized living room. A sleek bar lines one side of the space, while comfortable modern living room furniture occupies the center of the room. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between chic sophistication and laid-back fun, with clean architectural lines, modern décor, and dim lighting that creates an inviting ambiance. During our visit, we learned that the longtime bartender had recently moved on and been replaced by Sydney, who was absolutely delightful. When she discovered we were celebrating my friend's birthday, she rallied everyone at the bar and throughout the lounge area to sing "Happy Birthday." The gesture was unexpected, heartfelt, and instantly made the evening feel special. As fate would have it, another guest was celebrating a birthday as well, so the entire group enthusiastically sang for her too. The bar clearly has a loyal following, as several regulars were gathered throughout the evening...a testament to the welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Syndey crafted custom cocktails for both my friend and me, working with only two instructions: tequila for her and vodka for me. The results were refreshing, creative, and expertly crafted. What could have been just another night out became a memorable birthday celebration thanks to the warmth, hospitality, and personal touches at W XYZ Bar. For that, I'm truly grateful.

We sat on high bar stools and overlooked the celebration directly in front of the Live band stage. We avoided crowd crushing, liquid spills on your clothing and the screaming that was taking place below. The great news was it was 77 Degrees rooftop was completely free. Amazing to hear the music from below in an open air environment In addition, the 77 degrees DJ was spinning pop, hip hop and other dance music. While the area is relatively small, they had roped off VIP sections with bottle service. We did not have any food as at this juncture we were not hungry. Because 77 Degrees has an open air setting, it was pleasant to sit and watch the band.

You get a really nice view on the top level (you can ascend the three levels by the stairs or an elevator) and there are a lot of colored lights everywhere to set the mood. It's a fantastic place to celebrate a birthday and that's what I went for; my friend had so much fun on her birthday. They have these crazy illuminated signs that the staff bring by your table. There is bottle and table service, tapas....and hookahs too. The crowd is festive and trendy, but relaxed. It can get chilly at night in winter months, and the outdoor heaters are good but I would still make sure to bring a sweater or a jacket. And even then you might have to snuggle with your friends to keep warm. Or start dancing to the music.

I arrived earlier in the day and was skeptical about getting my room since check in is usually around 3pm but to my surprise I was able to get an early check in. The room itself was pretty standard. It did come with some complimentary sweets, water, slippers and robe. Another interesting benefit - they have a shuttle service for 3 mile radius around the hotel. The benefits don't end here. They also have a $25 credit if you eat/drink at their bar/restaurant. Isn't that cool? They have a pretty cool swimming pool too. I was happy to find sunscreen available at the pool! I used my hotel credit to get an avocado toast and it was wonderful! Overall, I had a great stay and I would highly recommend staying at the Archer! You won't regret it!

The rooms are always spotless, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful touches that make a difference, like plush robes, slippers, complimentary caramels, Fuji water, etc. This visit, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, and the spacious room with a huge terrace made the stay even more special. I almost always order room service, and it's consistently fresh and delicious. This time I had the wedge salad with shrimp and glasses of wine, and everything was perfect. The following evening, a coworker and I enjoyed drinks and shared a slice of cheesecake at the bar downstairs, and it was another great experience. The biggest reason I keep coming back, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. They consistently go above and beyond to make every stay comfortable. I highly recommend Archer Hotel to anyone staying in the Domain area, whether for business or leisure.

Next stop The Rose Room...I have never been to this club because it has unusual hours....Friday & Saturday: 10 PM - 2 AM. This is the TAO (Las Vegas, NV) equivalent for Austin, TX. We began with a dramatic escalator entrance. When you get off the escalator and go left (only possible direction), you see a sea of sardine-packed people dancing like it is there last night of earth. There is a small section of the club with stadium-like seating and a standing area. The music was blasting so loud your body was literally vibrating. A huge LED lit wall showing different designs was the focal point. A DJ was spinning some high energy songs. It was on and popping. We stayed at The Rose Room for a very short while in fear that our ear drums would explode. In my 20s I used go out a lot with friends...surprised I have any hearing today. The key is when music is that loud, you don't linger. This is a drinks only club with a bar inside the club.
