The entrance to this bar takes you through an escalator with hypnotizing lights and then greeted enthusiastically by a group of girls. The dance floor space is a little tight and can get crowded later in the night. The aerial shows and hula hoop dancing girls in the gallery area add a great vibe to the nightclub.

Night out with Crazy Stunts! First off, i'm surprised Rose Room has such low reviews- I have been here twice and thought this place was so iconic! -The escalator up to the main floor felt like you are transcending to another dimension. -Getting a section is great and the bottle girls were super nice and kept the energy up! -The crazy stunts are jaw dropping! they had a guy doing crazy air aerobic stuff, and another girl dancing and people with panda masks. it was insane The confetti shooting out was also super fun! They have the coolest lights and smoke features too! Overall- this spot is super fun and a night out at the Rose Room would be perfect for a bachelorette party, or girls night out!

Riding up the escalator was the most fun part of my experience at Rose Room. I heard from my college friends that this is a fun club, but I mostly saw an older demographic when I went on a Friday night. The music was louder than any club I have been to, which my friends and I were concerned about as we are young with a lot of hearing to do in the future. The music consisted of weird remixes that weren't that good, and there overall wasn't that great of a dance vibe. There was an aerial silks performance, which was pretty cool. The other "performers" were lame, and I believe anyone could do what they did. One girl spun around a hula hoop, and another girl wearing a light-up cape just waved her cape around like a butterfly. We remarked how the bottle service girls' outfits just plainly looked bad. They had a weird black and pink layering of undergarments going on.

As close to Studio 54 as I have seen in a long while. Dancing girls with glow lights, tightrope walkers, aerial acrobats, and thumping music. Bottle services complete with blasting sparklers walked out by sexy wait staff to a private roped off area with seats right on the dance floor. This is the only dance venue where I haven't over heated while shaking my groove thing... the air is pumping and thumping... add in the ice cloud blasts of forced air and your temp is always cool while the surroundings are hot! A huge bar area, a second level with special seating, and tons of people watching abound. It was a blast of hotness where everything was kept cool!

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday. I was very happy there wasn't a cover to get in, however the place smelled! So bad!. It smelled like sweaty Bo men. A lot of interesting people here to say the least. They need to change up their music, but otherwise we had a fun time. Don't know if it's worth buying a table here.

The music was on point for the audience and everyone from the staff to the guests were warm and welcoming. Being from the west coast you can definitely notice a difference in friendliness. The layout is really fun, with the club being front and center on the first floor and the play rooms up above in an atrium style. There are two stages, one for dancing and another with a pole. The area is huge, with plenty of tables and space to mingle. If I could give more than 5 stars I would because of what happened afterward. I forgot a very sentimental purse there. I called as soon as we got home and the manager, Vannessa, stayed in touch with me over text, coordinating with the staff and cleaning crew to track it down. Weeks went by and just this morning I got a text that she had found it. It's in the mail on the way home. I'm so touched by this gesture and will be sure to visit again when we are back in Austin.

The staff were very friendly, all dressed very professionally in black, greeted us with a smile and were very welcoming. They handed us off to Lee who gave us a tour and he was outstanding, great personality, very funny, and easy to talk to. We are in our 50s, have never been to any club, at all, ever, so we were not really sure what to expect. We went in with a very open mind and had a great time. There was every age range from 21 to 80, every socioeconomic status, and every body shape and size. We did not feel intimidated or unwelcome at any time. It was 80/90s night, we expected to be overdressed when in fact no one dressed in theme. There were women in lingerie or dresses (fancy and plain) men were in everything from sports coats to tshirts (which surprised me based on the posted dress code). Lots of seating, high and low tables as well as lots of sofas. Up in the 6 playrooms there were towels, condoms, and lockers available for use. The beds are divided by a shear curtain, and the front of the beds each have a shear and black curtain depending upon how you'd like to play: alone, ppl watching, or ppl joining in. The "theatre" room was a bit disappointing it felt like there should be a larger screen or maybe different seating. I'm not sure but it felt a bit off to me. Either way not a deal breaker. (Just my opinion). It is BYOB and the bar offers set ups and wine glasses and bottled water for purchases. We brought a backpack cooler but... there were some very dedicated people who arrived with a yeti on wheels they were not playing around. All this to say bringing a bottle or a huge cooler don't be shy! I should mention the parking. The club is in an industrial area, which for privacy we appreciated. About the only people you will see there are those going to the club, it did not appear there were other open businesses around. There is parking on site for $20 (valet or park yourself) and lots of street parking. Be prepared to walk if you're not early and do not want to pay, the side streets fill up fast. IMO, it is well worth the $20, and the men working valet were very friendly as well. Just prior to leaving the manager stopped by to see how things were going and he was extremely kind, very chatty and thanked us for coming. We are looking forward to returning!

I came during SXSW, when clubs usually book bands that are different from what they usually book. So my Japanese showcase would not reflect what you would usually hear at Elysium. But the performance space is attractive. The club is divided into two rooms with just a divider and no wall between the rooms. So you can hear the music from anywhere. If you want to be right next to the speakers at the edge of the stage, you have to be in the main room - not the room with the bar. As I get older, I sit down more. But for most of my life, I was a stage-edge-next-to-the-speaker kind of guy. Only the only thing that would remove me from my favorite place was mosh pit action (Or a sucky band). As I get older, I also look for some kind of wall support to brace myself with one hand while I dance with the rest of me. The Mohawk is ideal for wall support upfront dancing. The Elysium not so much because one wall is mirrored. But you can get in position to do some major dancing. When I was there last, I did just that. * * * Seating options are superb. Both in the stage room and the bar room there are comfy leather sofas that hold three people and a number of other soft seating locations. Unlike many other Austin clubs, it is easy to find a space to sit down and still get the music full blast. At the Mohawk, in contrast, for an indoor concert, if you go to sit down you leave the room with the music, and you only get vague overtones coming through the wall. * * * The bar is pretty good. Their options are limited but their options are well chosen. I was introduced to a George Dickel rye by the bartender that was absolutely first rate. George Dickel is definitely going into my home collection. Outstanding beverages and fine seating allow you to have a fine time at the Elysium Even on a night when the bands are terrible. * * * Your fine time changes if you have to go to the bathroom. * * * If you are a guy, peeing is merely tacky. You go into a semi-gross room where there is a multi-user tank. All the guys pee into the tank. * * * Pooping is another story. The club does not want shenanigans going on in any of the toilet stalls. So they remove the door to the toilet stall. The men's room toilet is fully visible from the front door to the men's room. You are literally pooping in front of the entire world. This is barely one step up from India. In India, many people poop in the streets. Here, you are essentially pooping in the streets Except when you are done you can flush the bad stuff away. I personally am very shy . I definitely do not want to do my business in public. * * * There are people in Austin who love to sh** in public. Put four of them together and you have a band. Bands like that perform all over town, Including at the Elysium.
