So this place has very long lines almost every Saturday around midnight until they close around 3:30am. If your here on a holiday or event weekend like Labor Day or pride or Halloween it could take an hour and a half. The line is fun but yeah it seems like forever to get in. I normally seem to get inside here after 2am so I can't really speak much for the drink prices but I think they are on par with most of the gay bars in the 4th street area. The crowd especially the main dance floor tends to be a mixed crowd after hours with more top 40 dance music and the lower level the basement tends to play more I dunno I call it circuit music or after 2am music but I guess you could say it's deep house. The basement is like you'd expect hot and steamy with lots of shirtless guys and dark areas to the back and side with seating. The main floor is sizable with a stage that if go early enough there are drag shows and all kinds of contests. There's a mezzanine above that looks down into the dance floor. There's also an outdoor patio area that is is multi level as well that plays different music. Like any place where there are allot of people in close proximity be aware of your surroundings and watch your drinks and pockets. Also there's a cover too that is a little more than Rain or OCH but you are paying to enter one if the larger gay venues in Austin. One more thing alcohol sales stop at 2am but if your from the western US this is pretty standard except in Nevada.

Sign after paying for cover - A bar area with multiple liquor bottles displayed on illuminated shelves, casting purple and pink hues. A chalkboard menu lists drink prices and specials, including non-alcoholic options and tips for tipping. The setting appears to be a nightclub or bar, with a focus on the bar counter and drink offerings.

Beyond disgusted and shock, the bartender stating no alcohol past 2am. Got here at 2:30am expecting to buy alcohol until 5am only to be told no alcohol after 2am despite closing at 5am. Here sober, paying $21.99 for cover. There should have illustrated sign before paying or stated hold before paying cover.

A nightclub with a dark interior illuminated by colorful lights, featuring a large screen showing a football game. The space has multiple levels, with people dancing and socializing. The environment includes a stage area, bars, and a dance floor, typical of an Austin nightlife venue.

I enjoyed the time I had here. I came on a friday night and a few of us were visiting from California. It was one of the few places that had business and people around town. We visited two other places and couldn't stay longer than 30 minutes but this was definitely a heart part of town. If I was in town and had no plans friday night, I'd come here again.

a man in an orange outfit on stage - The image shows a performer dressed in an orange outfit walking on stage in a nightclub setting. The venue has multiple levels with people visible on the upper balcony and the main floor. Colorful lighting, including purple and pink hues, illuminates the space, and fog or smoke effects are present. The scene includes a crowd of patrons, some watching the performance, and DJ or sound equipment is visible. The overall atmosphere suggests an entertainment event or drag show.

This has been my all time favorite club for years. I've been coming here for a long time and I still have yet to get tired of this place. The music, scenery, and the drag queens.... ESPECIALLY the drag queens, it's perfect to a T. Its so big and spacious so there room for everyone! Also everyone is so friendly here I always walk out here with a new friend. When you do come don't forget to say hi to Nick Rober!

Me the turtle neck - Three men are standing close together, smiling at the camera, in front of a dark brick wall with a painted cross design. The setting appears to be a nightclub or bar, with dim lighting and a casual atmosphere. The men are dressed in casual clothing, with one wearing a sweater, another in a vest and cap, and the third in a turtleneck sweater.

We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. Interestingly, their little social experiment seemed to have a positive effect, where we ended up talking to strangers and vice versa. The Powder Room may be making America social again.

An elegant and elevated high-end speakeasy that transports you to what life in speakeasy settings must have felt like in the days of olde. Who doesn't love being greeted by a tasteful, giant, fake bear with welcome cocktails? The low-lit space brings a feeling of warmth, secrecy, romance, and mystery. You absolutely get the feeling you're in a special and secret hideaway space. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than average but you're paying for art, atmosphere, and experience that is beyond wonderful.

Whether you were there to focus on the installation or just take it in casually, the environment supported both. The line was somewhat long to get into the event as it was at capacity and could only allow more people as people were leaving the event. My husband asked our server what the prepaid experience included and was told it came with "2 pairings," so we reasonably assumed that meant two drinks each. At the end of the night, we were presented with an additional $80 bill. When we questioned this, the manager explained that the prepaid "pairings" were actually just small pieces of truffle chocolate meant to accompany drinks, and that the prepaid price was for the chocolate and "access" to the Valentine's Day menu -- not the drinks themselves. None of this was clearly explained upfront, and the wording of "2 pairings" is misleading. Had we understood that the $60 per person covered only chocolate and menu access, we would have made a different decision. What was meant to be a special Valentine's surprise ended up feeling confusing and disappointing due to poor communication. Clearer explanations and transparency would go a long way.

Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it.
