We love coming to Safari for relaxing nights with good drinks and cigars! There's always a game on for the guys, and for the ladies, there are a wide range of cigars for different tastes and yummy drinks. I prefer shorter cigars with flavor and they usually have a good variety of them available. The drinks are top notch, the bartenders make them superbly, and they have an excellent espresso martini! The service is always quick and helpful, the noise level isn't too loud, quiet enough to have a regular conversation without having to yell. As with any cigar bar, you'll have to wash up when you get home and never wear anything you can't wash right away, but it's a good time so who cares?! read more

I love a good cigar bar, and this place has all the trappings of a good one. Comfy leather chairs, dim lighting but not too dim, nice side tables with lamps, a large beautiful humidor with a great selection and an awesome wait staff. But, for it's size, it's way bigger than Jakes in Benson and Havana garage downtown, but the SMOKE! It was awful. Jakes is 1/4 the size of this place and I've never been assaulted by the cigar smoke as I was in Safari. And the drinks were most definitely on the high end, a basic well drink was $11, and pour was on the light side. They do have a great selection of whiskeys and the bar tender was awesome, he was the only male staff, all of the waitresses were cute little things. What's up with that, men can't serve drinks? Will I go back? I have to say no, mostly because of the smoke, I know it's a cigar bar, but dang, don't you have an air cleaner? And the drink prices don't help. read more

Let me start by saying my reason for 3 stars is lack of ventilation. I find myself in cigar bars from time to time due to my husband's love of cigars and Safari, compared to Copacabana, from a ventilation perspective, isn't great. I get they are kind of "landlocked" in the strip in which they are located, but if you are ever here for an event, your eyes will be watering. Beyond ventilation, I have always found the staff to be amazing - they are friendly, accommodating and will go out of their way to give you a nice compliment. This is also a great place to purchase cigars as they have a wide variety and multiple price points within their selection. read more

I have been visiting Safari for a few years now off and on. I enjoy their cigar selection and most of the staff gives great service. For some reason the guy that runs the humidor (John?) seems to see customers as an inconvenience and interruption to him smoking a cigar, but occasionally he is friendly. Their humidor is awesome, I bought two cigars and both were in perfect shape, no cracking or fast burns. The feel itself was really cool, they have an Africa theme like their name suggests. The bourbon options were very good as well and the bartender was super nice. Only issue was with a group at the table next to me. The Army Navy game was on with the last 6 minutes in the 4th quarter and these dudes changed the the channel to girls volleyball. I got it, this is a college town and Nebraska was playing but unless your daughter is playing why the hell would you put that on? I'm a visitor and as a good guest I moved to where the game was on but at least give some warning. read more

Great place to have a smoke! They have a large selection of cigars in their humidor. The gentleman working was very knowledgeable about cigars and directed us to ones we haven't tried before which is what we wanted. The place has very comfortable chairs, clean ash trays and lighters available all over. I loved that they had an older group of guys there hanging out watching westerns! Life Goals! When I get older that's what I plan to do! I can't wait to stop by again next time we are in Omaha. read more

This a fantastic lounge. Allie was attentive and helped make it a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The humidor and bar is well stocked with high ball liquor. Only 3 draft beer choices. My all time favorite cigar shop in Omaha. Seriously is head and shoulders above Havana. I have beef with Havana (look at my previous review there). The crowd is more mature so this isn't the rip shots place. It's perfect to come with a group of friends who don't mind cigar smoke. Drink some good whiskey and have a stogie. Great service. Safari is officially my favorite cigar bar in town. Staff is excellent, selection is excellent, environment is comfortable. John also has a knack for picking a stick for me when I visit. It's great to have staff doing that well in a cigar bar. If you like a cocktail with your drink, the bartenders will take care of you well and properly. If you'd rather a round table or comfortable chair at the front of the shop, you need not step to the bar. You get served either way. It's great. read more

Where do begin to try to encourage you to visit Jeff and his staff at Safari?? I have been a customer, fan and friend of the fine people at Safari long before they were the team. (Previous owners, during the Cigarros days). At one time, I was as regular as regulars come. Well... I took a job a couple of years ago that required me to travel A LOT. Because of this, I have fallen off of the regular roster. It is because of having become an occasional customer, rather than a regular that I feel compelled to write this review. As mentioned, I travel extensively for work. I manage the Western half of the US for a Fortune 75 company, and as such have the opportunity to visit some of the finest cities in The West... Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, Orange County, SanDiego, Phoenix, Denver (to name a few) and all points in between, with frequent visits to Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indy, DC, Philly, NY, Boston, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, etc etc etc... I can HONESTLY tell you; Safari Cigar in Omaha is as good as it gets! Why? Epic cigar selection, tremendous bar, great staff and ownership that gives a @)&(@! Finally made it out to Safari after hearing many good things about it. And I have to say it's probably the nicest cigar bar in town. Heck, it's the nicest cigar bar that I've been to. Don't let the strip mall facade fool you, once you step inside you are greeted by plenty of comfy leather couches and big TVs playing all the sports. It's kind of like of like that one rich friend you know with an epic man cave. Or a very loungey part of a swank men's locker room at the country club. Great cigar selection from what I can tell and each little seating zone is equipped with giant propane torch lighters. Which is fun. The drink menu is super-appropriate for a cigar smoker's palette. Like lots of Scotch and pungent beers. Even a few select rums (though I would've liked to of seen more). Another great feature of Safari is the ventilation system. Sure, it'll be a little smokey, but the ceiling manages to suck up most of the smoke and you don't walk out of there smelling like you just took a nap in pile of tobacco. read more

Safari has provided one of the best atmospheres for smoking in all of Omaha. I tend to visit Copa Cabana more often since I live near them but if I had the choice I think I would go to Safari more. The humidor is stupendous. The selections are amazing and it's well kept. The drinks are great as well. The seating and lounge space are comfortable and gorgeous. The owner reached out to me to let me know my drinks were, in fact, served wrong. They were bottled beer and should have been poured more aggressively to produce copious amounts of frothy head. He did give me a refund of my beer money and for that I have doubled my stars. read more

Omaha is LUCKY to have this WORLD CLASS cigar bar. I've been to quite a number of cigar bars in my life in different large US cities and this one is nothing short of exceptional. If you remember the old "Cigarros" it's in the same space but it's SOOO much better. New furniture, fabulously stocked humidor with a world class selection, huge flat screens. The chairs are way beyond what you'd find in Washington, New Orleans, and many other cities. OK, so I can't rave enough about how good it really is. I was expecting a high class atmosphere like the old cigar club in this spot and found nothing of the kind. The alcohol selections were limited, the bar was way too bright, the waitresses were 20 years older than they should have been and the clientele was OLD. This is now a place for CIGAR NUTS, with all the talk about cigars all the time. If you like inhaling tons of secondhand smoke, not being able to order the drink you want or to enjoy any eye candy, this is the place for you. Also, parking in this little strip mall has gotten terrible. Don't know why; Safari's doesn't seem busy. It must be the restaurant next door & the yogurt shop. read more
