Saf Keep Storage in Jack London Square is "The Bombity Bomb!" Excellent location, convenient hours, extremely safe, and did I mention sparkling clean? There are restrooms, vending machines, a small store that sells locks, and moving supplies. You can receive packages, send faxes, all in one convenient location. The staff is very helpful and friendly, they offer the use of their moving truck for a very nominal fee of $15 for insurance. If you refer a new customer you get a discount in your rental fee for one month. Saf Keep also has customer appreciation BBQ's. I cannot recommend this enough! read more

If you are looking for a place to store your things, this is the place. I was very happy with the special service, fair pricing and attention I received during the 4 moths I rented a space. I would especially like to mention Gabriel for all assistance, going out of way to assist me numerous times. I will definitely recommend this location. read more

We have LOVED Saf Keep for over a decade. It is clean, modern and when I move my late mother's final possessions out, I'll miss the reassuring familiar scent of the shiny concrete halls. I don't know what I would have done without Saf Keep during my mom's move to a senior home, then after her accident, her move to assisted living, then her passing. SafKeep was like sugar helping the medicine of ugly moves of a near century of my mom's archival stuff and art go down. Before we sold her art, Saf Keep met the stringent standards imposed by high end Huntington Block art insurance. It preserved millennium-old native art for many years. Will surely miss them. read more

Couldn't say enough great things about the staff. Edwin and Liz were great with communicating the rules and contract with Saf keep storage. They were friendly and professional and cared about what they were doing. After checking out 6 storage facility companies this is the best hands down cleanest. I'm really happy with the size of the unit and pricing as well. Would highly recommend this company if you're in search of storing your belongings. Thanks! Stephen read more

The location is perfect, but even more important is the great customer service and responsiveness. Exciting to see businesses that understand that great service creates customer loyalty. I would pick Saf Keep over U-Haul storage (or others) any time! -Happy customer (Summer 2016) read more

The storage facility is clean and easily accessible. The unit itself was very clean, with it's own electricity and light. And the price was cheaper than two other places we looked. Mario and Sandy were very friendly and helped us through the paperwork. And the moving truck was very handy. If we ever need more storage, we'll come here first. read more

The best storage unit in the Bay Area!!!! Edwin, the service assistant, was the best!!! He's very professional, knowledgeable, and most of all, very kind!! Thanks Edwin for making my day!! You Rock!!!! read more

Moving on the fly is never easy; but the follow up and kindness that I received with the booking of two (yes two) storage units added much needed kindness during a stressful time. Edwin stayed late to get me set up, and I appreciate his patience while I was wild with stress. read more

If you want first class service, talk to the nicest people, know your personal belongings are safe and secure? Then this is the place for you, although I hate to pass on the secret! Everyone is always kind, extremely helpful and accommodating. Sandy is amazing, I want to clone her, she's leads in excellent customer service! Saf Keep is in a great location, and security-they're right there-you always see them! The place is also really clean and organized, it's the best storage, highly recommend! read more

My recent move to Oakland required storage as I temporarily downsized from house to apartment. Research had to be done on line, and SafKeep proved to be right down the street, within a mile of the apartment. The website was easy to navigate, yet being new to storage, I still called and walked through the process with a real person. I went to the office and got some paperwork out of the way the day before the moving van arrived, and so had the chance to check the place out. I don't know what a previous reviewer is referring to about the free van, as it appears just fine. Note that it MUST be returned by 4:00. There is no negotiating to use it later. While my misunderstanding of the rules created a bit of a problem using it as a shuttle to my apartment, I can understand that the office would not have a way to track the truck were it brought in after they closed. (The 4 p.m. return offers them plenty of time to locate a late truck and get it back before closing for the day). All of the staff I have met is friendly, polite, and helpful. The buildings are bright, and the units have their own lighting a well. The grounds, elevators, hallways and units are clean. There always seem to be flat dollies available at the elevators, and you can drive right up and park near your unit or an elevator. I was worried about the cost of storage, but SafKeep has many deals, beyond 1 month, and the staff will help you find the best deal for their facility, base on YOUR needs. I needed a 10x15 unit, (plus another smaller one in the end), and kind of expected it might cost more than it did, so no complaints there. I'd say, if you have a lot of stuff and don't want to pay for storage, then utilize their e-bay or donation unit services! read more

I was going through a really rough transition moving from place to place and worried about moving my belongings to storage due to previous terrible experiences at other storage companies. But when I went to check out Saf Keep Storage on 3rd St in Oakland near Jack London Square, my worries were no more. Monique and Gabriel took super great care of me in reinsuring me that this would be a safe spot for my belongings while in this transition. No break ins in the last 10+ years, security process and protocol are high, and reasonably priced (I rented a 6x6ft space for $91/month). Thank you Monique and Gabriel, you truly eased all my worry! Professional, kind, empathetic, and efficient. Thank you! read more

The staff is very excellent and thorough about helping me especially Gabrielle he knew that I was stressed and under a lot of pressure when it came to finding the right space for my belongings. read more

Went to rent a storage unit and was impressed in every possible way. I was on a waiting list, but within 2 days I was notified by Liz that a unit was available. They put it on hold for 4 days so I could come in at my convenience. Met with Edwin Anaya on site who showed us a storage unit cleaner than my house will ever be. He had just washed and mopped it top-to-bottom and was going over it a second time. It was pristine! Was able to rent the unit and got a sizable discount for the first two months PLUS $10 off from spinning the wheel! Setting up the account was easy and we had fun doing it. Really happy we chose this facility. 5/2017 I want to add that we have been through an extremely wet winter and I am pleased to report that the drive-up unit remained completely dry. That's huge! read more

I recently moved out of my storage unit and again, I have to say how outstanding the customer service is. It is pricey but you do get what you pay for. The facility is clean and extremely safe! Edwin is always extremely helpful and Sandy goes above and beyond. I got behind on my last bill and she was so kind and understanding. Thank you! read more

We've been loyal customers for years. The facility is clean and secure, but a bit awkward. We had a corner unit and the space was not as big as the the rest outside. People would block are vehicle in all the time because of the way the storage was situated. Management never did anything about it. I shopped around and found a better deal (half the price) at StorQuest. Saf Keep kept raising there rates higher and higher, which forced us out of there. Their maintenance staff were always friendly and helpful. We just had issue with management and how they treat their loyal customers and charge extra fees. read more

BUYERS BEWARE! THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU ON THE PRICE! I booked a 5x10 unit online for $83. They advertised 50% off for 3 months. The usual price around is about $90, so I thought this was a good deal. I get there on the move in date, and start the check in process. The person at the counter just told me to sign a bunch of documents. I asked him "Just to make sure, the price is $83, right? With 50% off for 3 months, right?" and he said "Yes sure sure" very quickly, then asked to fill a bunch of forms on a computer they had there. After a 15 minute form entering process (that I had to do), he prints out a bunch of documents for signing. I ask "Can I see the exact price that I will have to pay?" and he answers "It's okay, you don't have to worry about this" (!?). The computer also mentioned a $9 insurance fee on top of the $83 price, which I was curious about. Once again, he just said "It's okay, don't worry about this, it will be included in the final price." After signing 3 forms, he then shows me a paper that states at the very bottom in very small print: "$83 for 3 months, then $166 after" !!! I was very confused. I asked "Isn't it supposed to be $83 half off for 3 months and THEN $83 dollars, not the other way around?" He told me "No sir, what you agreed on was ALREADY 50% off, $166 is the normal price". I told him that this couldn't be right, since the price for this kind of unit anywhere else is around $90, they even had other bigger units not 50% priced off at a much lower price. He was very adamant on the fact that he would not bulge the price since it was apparently what I agreed upon. I was livid, I told him I wanted to cancel immediately. Renting a 5x10 unit for $166 is robbery, they go for way way less everywhere else. I called for his manager, she didn't even say a work and cancelled all my forms. I wasted 45mns of my time going to this place and filling a bunch of forms for nothing, just to get a price hike surprise at the end. I bet they run this scam everytime, and they just shut down their mouths and want you to go away if you figure it out. AVOID!!!!! read more

I genuinely had no idea a storage place would have great customer service. I just expected some grumpy person to take my money and point me in the right direction. Instead, every single person at Safkeep, especially Sandy, went above and beyond to make sure every single thing was seamless and easy for me. From moving in, to moving out, to constantly having to run over there to just grab one thing from my unit. Everything was seamless. From start to finish, they were fantastic in every single way possible. read more

This is the first time I have ever had to use an off site storage. The set up process was effortless and the price did not change afterward. Just make sure you bring a lock with a key. Such a great sign up experience! I came in with a reservation for a 10x10 unit and Liz and Gabriel were super helpful throughout the whole process. They showed me the unit as well as some other sizes before helping me determine what would be best for my needs. Then they gave price breakdowns to ensure I would get the best rate based off my estimated time frame. Then, they made sure to explain the paperwork and processes as I was reading through it. I even spun the wheel of surprise and got a sweet treat at the end! All in all, it took about 30 minutes in and out. Not to mention how CLEAN the facilities were! I would highly recommend this for all my friends with storage needs! read more

This is a wonderful storage facility - very clean, secure and easy. I had initially rented a 10x20 unit when I was selling my family home in Rockridge. I then downsized from the 10x20 into a small 5x10 unit. The facility is so easy to get in and out of and they provide rolling dollies to make moving easier. I didn't need to use it, but they also provide a free large truck for moving. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A very positive experience!! read more

I can't say enough great things about the staff here. Sandy at the front desk was especially friendly, patient and helpful. Tom was also very nice and helpful. When there are so many options nearby for storage, customer service is the factor that makes this a 5 star experience! read more

TERRIBLE BUSINESS-THE ONLY REASON THEY HAVE GOOD REVIEWS IS THEY GIVE YOU $10 OFF MOVING IN IF YOU WRITE A GOOD REVIEW BEFORE YOU HAVE EVEN BEEN INSIDE...i would not recommend any safkeep's to anyone i know...the office staff are rude and blame their bad behavior and policy's on ownership...they HATE to accommodate their customers...the only good thing i have to say about safkeep is the custodial staff is very nice and helpful... read more

Saf Keep Storage in San Ramon is the best! Immaculate, all the staff is friendly, extremely helpful, loaner truck, safe, I can't say enough good about the entire operation. I strongly recommend this location for anyone who is looking for a first class well run storage facility. read more

This place is awesome!! Edwin was unbelievably nice from the moment I walked in the door. I was given a tour of the place, discounts, and a free lock for my storage unit. It's clean, safe, there's plenty of parking, and they have carts you can use to move your stuff! Best of all, they don't lock you into a long contract. It's just a month to month thing. Perfect for those of us just moving to the area who need something short term! read more

Saf Keep is the way to go! They were friendly and helpful every step of the way, offering to show me the unit, give me details on the site's security and pricing plans and what I needed to get set up - (get a cheaper lock at the hardware store 2 mins down the street). My first month was 50% off and they also receive mail which was super helpful for me, since I shipped all of my things before moving from NYC to Oakland. The whole facility seemed very clean and well run, which is comforting. They also have month-to-month agreements that make it perfect for storage before finding a new apartment, without signing a contract or anything like that. Appreciate the help and kind service! read more

Once again a perfect experience doing business with Saf-Storage....they do need to review their billing process however....

Edwin is the best! He stayed after a bit late to help walk us through everything, and was super attentive to our needs. An all around great guy and an all around great experience. read more

Saf Keep offers competitive pricing & constant offers (ASK for discounts if you do not see any advertised). It's fast and easy to communicate with employees via email or phone. And, as others have mentioned, employees are extremely friendly- especially the individuals at the Jack London Square facility. The entire JLS premises are also well kept. In short, I decided to rent a space b/c of the fair pricing, great customer service, & clean units. read more

The SafKeep staff were always helpful and friendly, and went above and beyond in order to work with movers and grant unit access to help my partner move our items out of our storage unit when I was unable to be there to do it myself. I rented online, it was a very easy and straightforward website. I had to go in to the office with my ID and to set up a gate code. With Sandy's help at the front counter, the process was smooth, fast, and totally seamless. Aribal showed me the unit and the place seemed very secure and was extremely clean. I would highly recommend Saf Keep! read more

This place is fantastic! Look, moving is a pain and generally sticking stuff in storage is too, but somehow they make it all really simple. I don't have a car but it wasn't a problem since they have a van available, and they give you a couple hours of fee help getting your big stuff in. The people working there and incredibly nice and helpful and the location feels very safe and was always accessible. There's really no reason to look anywhere else. read more

Who knew a storage unit place could be amazing!? At the last minute I had to move all my things out of a place in the south bay and Saf Keep in Oakland saved the day... and at a great discounted price. I was able to use the moving truck when I moved in. I saved money and potential headaches with other rental places. The only odd rule was I had to leave a $300 CASH deposit, no exceptions. The entire staff in great too, amazing security, and Larry is the best. I highly recommend this storage place over any other in the east bay. read more
