I was very disappointed and I'm sure I will not return. How do you give ONE piece of bread for a fish sandwich? They need to do some housecleaning that's for sure. I didn't expect a to-go place to be spotless but even the card reader was nasty! I'm thinking to myself "come on now". They need to clean up the sitting area and turn the darn music down or put the speaker towards the street. My fish was over cooked and I swear they were the smallest pieces of fish that I e probably ever seen, the collard green spring rolls were so soft and greasy that I didn't even bother eating them and I swear the ginger beer (supposed homemade) had pineapple in it (it was yellow and I've never seen it that color as many times as I've drank it) and I haven't felt well since (I'm allergic to pineapples). I've called at least three times to confirm but no one answered. My friend purchased a fish dinner, the corn on the cob was so small it looked as if it was cut in three's! I've tried to come to this restaurant multiple times but they've always been closed. I finally got the chance to stop by and got a Mega Mango smoothie and a piece of the Vegan Carrot Cake. The smoothie was just ok. It tasted kind of watered down. The cake was really good for it to be vegan. I will be back to try other menu items. read more

I have been to this establishment twice already and I will be honest I was quite skeptical the first time but having my 2nd meal here I was happy to see that it wasn't a fluke the first time around. I have had the collared greens, the chicken bowl with mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, black beans and black rice. I will be honest I didn't love it, so I won't be ordering that again but I did really enjoy the Kale salad I will definitely get that again... I also had the salmon burger and that was good too.. for Dessert I ordered the coconut cake and the banana pudding. The coconut cake was ok but it had a weird consistency but that banana pudding was very good. I could have gotten 2 portions of that... all in all I had a good experience here, they just have weird summer days that are a but of a turnoff.. they aren't open Monday through Wednesday.. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant. When I walked in, I didn't realize it was a vegan spot. I was familiar with the location because it used to be an art gallery. The music was excellent, and they were playing ​music videos on the tv. Parking is a bit limited in the back but I came in on a weekday. I had the Smoked Salmon Burger with Black Beans and Black Rice. I enjoyed the burger and beans. I didn't enjoy the rice so much. The service here was great along with the staff. I always love finding great food in my community. Sadiq's Bistro is at the top of the list. I've passed it several times not knowing it was a vegan spot. It sits on the corner of Cambelton Road and Fairburn. There is limited parking in the back and you can miss it so if you are going North on Fairburn, turn into the parking lot on your left before you reach the light. Once you walk inside you see a great area of seating, TVs and a nice bar. It's very clean and it looks like they have or can have events there to the right. There is a raised platform and a mic so it is not far fetched to have an open mic or a band. The decor is cherry wine wood high boy tables and regular 4 seaters. The walls are beautiful with Egyptian textured murals. Their menu is very good and reasonable. Not overwhelming at all. You can get a wrap or bowl for $12 and can 5 items. Kind of like chipotle but better fresher food. I had a bowl with Jackfruit and it was amazing!! I wanted something different and I am glad I did. The African yam from the grill was nice and sweet which was unexpected since it looked like a red potato. The bowl itself was a nice portion and spicy which I didn't care for but I couldn't stop eating the food! I will be back again. The staff is very nice. Try their vegan banana pudding! read more

First time going and it was a nice experience. Cashier was very friendly and recommended a chicken & rib combo so that I could try several things. I got Mac & Cheese and collard greens as the sides. The food was very good however, only constructive feedback is that they should put let sauce on the items. My plate was drowned in sauce as you can see in my picture listed. Wait time was very quick. I've passed by this restaurant @ least 20x. It's very close to my home. I'm upset that I haven't ate here before. Shame on me! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but their food is so flavorful. I ordered a bowl w/ Jackfruit, black beans, black rice, mushroom, and tomatoes. The seasoning on the table is salt and cayenne pepper. My beverage choice was the homemade sorrel in a bottle, poured half into a cup of ice. It was AMAZING! I'm going to visit again and probably switch up the items until I cover half the menu. *sigh* Maybe today was an off day. Sadiq's is a very attractive space, aesthetically. The food was a different story. I ordered the "smoked" salmon burger meal. The salmon did not taste smoked, it was dry and looked like it was made from a frozen patty. The produce was skimpy and the sandwich was topped with an American cheese slice. We discovered they have added a barbecue area in the back of the restaurant. What a nice addition they smoke the meats and seafood in hickory and it is a delicious addition to their already enjoyable menumy wife and I tried the smoked wings and the salmon ; both were excellently prepared and were perfectly seasoned not salty but full of that outstanding smoke flavor. We also ordered and devoured the baked beans and collards once again well seasoned but not salty! So, the bistro also doubles as a venue for parties, hosts live music events, has a dance floor and a DJ was spinning while I was there, so consequently it was pretty loud. There was a BIG party going on when I was there, so I don't know if that affected the speed of service (I'm giving them a mulligan)or if that is the typical service speed, but our waitress was SUPER STELLAR!!! The food was ridiculous and by "ridiculous", I mean expletive AWESOME!!! Visiting from Los Angeles I had no clue this was a vegan spot. I simply stopped because I saw a huge bbq pit in the back. THIS IS THE BEST BBQ I HAVE HAD SO FAR IN MY LIFE!! No lie! The real smoky flavor throughout every piece of meat gosh I almost didn't want to put sauce on it .it was so damn good. I got 1/2 chicken w macaroni and and greens. Now they were out of a lot! Out of wings, I got the last of the macaroni. They gave me a chicken sausage instead I never had it and WOW it was good taste kinda like gumbo rolled up in a smoked sausage! Being a native of Atlanta and the Ben Hill area I've seen restaurants come and go on this corner store but Sadiq's Bistro definitely a landmark to stay. Great food, the smoothies are so delicious!! The food was amazing! I'm vegetarian but my fiance isn't so I'm always on the lookout for compromise restaurants. This was a godsend for us. He had a chicken bowl and I had a jackfruit bowl. Both were so flavorful and generously portioned. We both have enough to eat on again. The sorrel was a huge surprise as well. It was delicious on its own but sipped after eating a bowl and BAM!!! I absolutely adore the food here and come in from time to time. It's different than anything else around and that's a good thing. I usually get a bowl with rice and lamb, plus other choices they have to choose from to go with it. The sauce they give you for the top is great. I've also had the salmon burger which is awesome. The only thing I don't like is when I'm dining in, the young ladies always have an attitude as if they are annoyed by my presence. They appear to be young teens or maybe a bit older, but I can't tell. Maybe they are related to the owners and don't want to be there?? I eat here anyway because the food is that good. But it'd be way better if I was treated as though I'm not bothering them. So hopefully someone sees this review and addresses that one issue. read more

The food was absolutely wonderful!! From preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the in-house made juices, the smoked wings and lamb bowl was great (even took photos so we could try to replicate at home). I found their prices extremely reasonable considering the quality and taste of the cuisine: For three meals and three juices (I had the ginger beer which is made from pressed, delicious 'Real' ginger) came up to $49 with tax. Happy I located this on Yelp. The place is very nice and has beautiful African murals. It gives me a NY vibe. Anywho, I ordered the spicy black bean & mushroom wrap! It is delicious and filling. We came here because Milk&Honey was a bust. A family of seven in town to celebrate my brothers Masters Graduation from GA Tech. We weren't sure what we would find, but figured we could be seated together and eat quickly. First, the decor is banging; the menu is healthy soul filled fare! We were pumped at what we could get and hopeful it wouldn't take long since the restaurant was virtually empty. We had to sit across two booths, but we didn't mind so much; a fair trade-off. The food was great and now I see why there were folks coming in to carry-out. One star is removed because service was really bad. I'm not rating lower because its black-owned. However, it took no time to take our orders, but 20 minutes to get our drinks; we waited so long I asked for quick food we could eat now because my grandmother's blood sugar was dropping. Now, I know they aren't fast food; I just wasn't expecting to be kept waiting so long. It took about 45-60 minutes for our food to come out. There were also minor issues like our drink orders weren't right; mixing up who got cheese grits vs. plain; I ordered an item that never made it to the table, my brother had the same issue. We didn't complain because there was only ONE waitress working the front. So, we def tipped and understood the issue. However after a two and a half hour ordeal I was ready to split. It also took a while to get the checks. Normally this issue would be enough for a negative review, but honestly, I'd go back with a few tweaks: I recommend not taking a large party (we tried to call ahead but didn't get anyone on the phone); take the food to go.
