My elderly diabetic mom has been a patient of Dr. Mandalawi's for over 20 years. She comes to his office every 3 to 4 months for a check-up. The office staff is always nice. The medical assistants are also very nice. The billing department is super helpful. I have no complaints! Dr. Mandalawi is the only one at this office. Sometimes, the wait can be long, but that's rare. He takes his time. He does a thorough head to toe examination. He listens to all your concerns. He does not rush. He is a kind and compassionate man. He is very knowledgeable. I've had to call him afterhours about my mom's elevated blood sugar. He is very nice about it. Unfortunately, he's cutting his hours and probably heading into retirement. Dr. Mandalawi is an endocrinologist. I really like his personality and his care. Once you get past the front office staff and to your appointment with him, things always go really well.( It takes a long time to get an appointment with him) At this point, I only see him every three months or longer. I am always very grateful for the Conversations with him and The excellent recommendations that he makes to me. Because of him my diabetes is under control and I am slowly starting to lose weight! Dr. is a very happy and personable physician. I cannot recommend him enough if you are looking for a great endocrinologist, and you can get an appointment with him. I love Dr. Mandilawi! I have been to other endocrinologists who were mean to me and didn't listen to me but Dr. M was the first in a decade to listen to me. He ordered a lot of tests to get the big picture of what's going on with my Hashimoto's disease and finally confirmed I am NOT crazy. There's something up and I needed different dosages and another medication. Every time I've gone he's been patient, listened to my concerns, let me cry, helped me understand why tests some tests were necessary because I'm afraid of visiting doctors and having medical stuff done because I have PTSD. When I've told him how scared I am he told me, "Hey. You don't need to be scared. You are my patient so you are my family now. I won't stop until we have you feeling better." And those kinds of doctors are rare. I've seen a whole lot of doctors too! He's a brusque man to be sure but he cares and he knows his stuff. His staff are okay. They're a bit of a mess and have trouble finding stuff or communicating to Dr. M but they're always nice. That means a lot to someone who's fearful of doctor's offices. I have arranged all of my insurance to do whatever it takes year after year to make sure I stay Dr. M's patient and I will until it's impossible. read more

Never coming back to this doctor. He seemed frazzled, unorganized, and all over the place. He needed help finding bloodwork and ultrasound results that were right in front of his face. When he asked for my ultrasound results I showed him the paper and informed him that the results of that ultrasound (along with my bloodwork) were used by my PCP to diagnose me. He then snapped at me for no apparent reason and said "I'm the doctor and you're the patient. I talk, you listen. Okay?" I'm still not sure what exactly set him off and why he reacted that way. Dr. Mandilawi also told me to "forget everything you've been told before coming into my office" and tried to convince me that my diagnosis was actually something completely different. He actually said this to me and expected me to blindly believe him with no tests, no x-rays, and no office previous visits. I suspect this doctor might be going senile due to his old age and I do not trust his ability to care for me as a patient. read more

Dr. Mandilawi is my doctor and he is one who really cares about his patients. I am very thankful of him for referring me to Dr. Brian Constantine a Podiatrist there at at the La Verne Medical Group. I encountered an injury on my left ankle in 2016, and since then I was sent from Doctor to Doctor and no one could do anything to help with the pain I was experiencing. I have been seeing Dr. Mandilawi for about a year. A very thorough Dr, but waiting an hour for my appointment is ridiculous.

I waited a little over 4 months to get an appointment with this doctor, but in that time I was unable to find another endocrinologist willing to accept a new patient. However, once I went in for my appointment, my expectations were not high. But I was completely surprised by my experience. The staff was great and personable. There was no wait time. And the doctor seemed to genuinely care about my concerns and my condition. Glad I stuck it out. read more

Probably the worst doctor I have ever been to! ever since I started going to see this "Dr" Mandilawi, he has always had me waiting at least one hour before he comes into the room! when I was in the waiting room today they asked me to check in on a computer that they did not wipe down, then it didn't work.. there were people in the waiting room sneezing and coughing they finally put me in a room after being in the waiting room for 40 minutes.. then I waited another 45 minutes I asked one of the nurses when am I going to be seen after another 20 minutes I finally left! This doctor has a habit of not being on time to be late 15-20 even 30 minutes late is one thing... but this particular doctor always has us waiting 1.5 hrs plus!! with Covid and everything that's going on in the world maybe he should shorten his lunchtime and see his patients when they have their appointments scheduled!! I now remember why I have not come to see him in over a year!! instead of renewing my allergy medication and another medication for my hot flashes he cut me off cold turkey what doctor is going to cut you off cold turkey from your medication that you've been on for years he is a horrible disgusting doctor I can't stand him he is unprofessional to say the least! maybe spray some air freshener throughout your office because it stinks like some kind of disgusting food read more

Mandilawi was a good doctor five years ago. The last two years not so good. He constantly plays games with telling you about blood tests which one cannot have a copy of until AFTER he goes over them with you. He tells you only what he wants to and then I get my copy and it is not at all like he made it out to be. He completely left out my thyroid problems for three months which is why I have lost 1/3 of my hair, have lesions on my scalp etc. etc. When I called him to ask why he didn't tell me these things, he had his nurse call me instead. This was EIGHT days later and she could not answer my questions and I did not ever get to talk to him. I could go on and on but I won't. I will also say that, recently, he has lost other doctors from his practice. This is not a person one wants as their doctor. If I find a place to report him to, I definitely will. read more

A nurse assistant escorted me to the room where I will be seen at 10:30. It is now 10:55 and the doctor isn't here still. Wtf. I asked the nurse how long am I still supposed to wait. The doctor is a very good doctor and I do not have any issues with him. My issue is with his staff and especially the mad backyard dog who handles the appointments and the phone calls, she is the rudest unprofessional person I've ever encountered in my life. One of the best doctors I've ever been to. Is very thorough and actually explains things to you! He even used the paper sheet on the exam table to draw me a picture so I understood what was going on. Excellent doctor who actually looked in my eyes and showed concern and compassion. Amazing!! Most sit behind S computer and type as they ask questions, right? I didn't think doctors like Dr Mandilawi still existed! He doesn't assume or jump to conclusions but really listens and reasons things out. Dr. Mandilwi is awesome, friendly, and an expert in Diabetes care. I really do feel that he cares about me. He gets a minus star for his long appointment times. Each visit averages about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Do not come early for your appointment because you will never be seen early. In fact it will be at least 30 minutes after your appointment time before the nurse takes your vitals. Then you will wait some more to see the doctor after your initial visit with the nurse. I'm not retired and work over 45 hours a week, not including my commute. Time at a doctors appointment, with an appointment, should not take this long. I like this doctor a lot but my time does not allow it. I will keep him for now but I am looking elsewhere. read more

I have been with La Verne Medical group for 30 + years. My primary care Doctor is Dr Mandilawi. He is a great doctor and knows and understands my conditions. I have referred many friends and family to that practice. The staff is great and understanding. The office is clean and well organized. The great thing about this practice that is like no other is that, there is an ex-ray technician , also an ultra sound technician on site. A lab for blood drawing and urine samples to be sent in. Basically it's a one stop shop . I find it very convenient as a patient . I have piece of mind know my Doctor is very in tune with my issues, he is very soft spoken and helps me understand my conditions. Great Practice with great doctors. read more

This office use to be HORRIBLE. Not necessarily Dr. Mandilawi, because he is a sweetheart and there for his patients 100%, However the staff was RUDE and looked a sloppy mess. Since Dr. Mandilawi made some adjustments to his staff, and I can say the person he has hired to check in and out patients is AMAZING!! She takes her time scheduling patients, will ask our preference (I observed her checking out patients myself) and her uplifting attitude was a plus. She makes you as a patient feel #1 priority, as if we matter. Between his nurse, who is calm and VERY helpful and the new beautiful energetic young lady in the front, the environment is much comforting, even if we have to wait a bit to see him, its not a big deal anymore. Her friendly voice and smile are supreme, It makes a big difference from the young girls that checked out patients before. Hope this office remains the same, LOVE LOVE the change.. read more
