This has to be the nicest most beautiful firearm store and range I've ever been to, and I've been to quite a few across the country. We drove from Spring on a recommendation and was not disappointed one bit. Laurie welcomed us to the range and explained to us their procedures for the range. The range itself is well air-conditioned and ventilated and the lighting is ample. Everyone was very kind and accommodating. The store has a lot of opportunity to spend lots of money, and quite the selection. I think I found a new home. I really want to give a special thanks to Laurie for being so friendly and showing us all the various programs that the store provides for beginner to expert shooters, as well as the LTC program which I am preparing my wife for at the range. read more

I used a Groupon for archery, which was really worth the price! For two people, the cost was $26. I would highly recommend getting the Groupon because it's significantly cheaper than the actual price. This was a great way to spend an hour, but the shooting area is very small, so don't go with more than 1-2 people. I'm giving it one star just because it would be very cramped with large parties. If there happens to be a lot of people already there, you won't have as good of a time, so try to go during off peak hours. read more

Went to the range with my daughter. We had one of the three ranges to our selves. The facility was neat and clean. The staff was helpful and polite. We did not eat at the 2A cafe on this visit but have eaten there in the past. Very good For a fun twist you can rent a full auto SMG. That is fun. read more

Their customer service is horrible. Doesn't have return policies posted so buyer beware. They tried to screw me out of $350 by making a return within 24 hrs. Plus the ammo was $45 dollars higher per box than academy. It seems it's only about money not the customer. read more

These folks have "built a better mousetrap". Great atmosphere. This is a place that is beautifully decorated with a coffee shop that has great food and wonderful lattes. It is not your typical gun range. The employees are extremely knowledgeable, polite and helpful and welcoming. The gun selection is quite extensive and well priced. I have been twice to Ladies Night and the instructors were incredible. Afterwards you can enjoy a bit of wine and snacks . I highly recommend this gun range. An amazingly nice, well run gun range and gun shop. All the bays are well lit, functional and have an awesome vent system...best I've seen. RSOs are helpful and professional. Several guns to choose from as "rentals" if you don't have your own. One tip, if you do use one of their weapons, be prepared to buy their ammo. It's not overpriced but just something some folks may not be aware of. This place even has a small cafe inside, and a "country club" feel. They also offer a country club like shooting membership and specific reserved lanes for members. If you're an archer, they have a dedicated archery range as well. My son went along with the group and borrowed a few of their bows (even though he has his own) and said it was top notch. The gun store is also attended by some extremely helpful and knowledgeable folks that are happy to answer questions and help with a proper firearms purchase. Great place to shoot!! read more

I submitted a Google review and the owner responded with several lies. I have since corresponded with several other prior customers that have had several problems with this place. The yelp reviews here paint a rosier picture about their business practices. Choose another Gun Range as these people are not reputable. As long as there is no issue you should be okay but if a problem arises beware on how they respond. Also when you write a bad review the final test is how a business responds to it. With the Google review they again failed miserably with their sad response. This is far from over! read more

On the grand scale of all shooting ranges, this place is pretty nice. If you are looking for a place to bring a friend or a date, this place is it. It is clean, fancy, high tech with a nice hand washing machine, has a decent selection of apparel, and really nice bathrooms. If you are familiar with most shooting ranges, this range is definitely above average. Here are my pros and cons. Keep in mind that I gave this place 3 stars because the cons are very important to me. I did not use their archery range so I can't comment. Pros: - the cafe has good food at competitive prices - nice facilities with clean bathrooms - good selection of firearm at competitive prices for a range - nice apparel, mens/womens accessories, and jewelry - nice and helpful staff who will allow you to browse for as long as you want - range is well lit and well ventilated - check-in procedure is straightforward if you sign their forms online prior to getting to the range - the target is put up ahead of time by staff so that the lane is ready to go Cons: - too many forms to fill out online and you have to watch a basic video - too many range and ammo rules (all listed online) - worst rule of all: NO RELOADED AMMO AND NO COLLECTING YOUR OWN BRASS. I understand that there are many ranges that do not allow you to do this but these rules are ridiculous for how much it costs to shoot here. - too expensive for an hour of shooting, even with their 50% off coupon Honestly, for the price you pay, Gander Mountain is better. If you want to bring family and friends to a fancy range then this place is fine. Unfortunately for me, I go to a range for one sole reason - and that is to target practice. Nothing fancy, just give me a good lane, working A/C and ventilation, some ammo rules are OK but reloaded ammo is a must as I purchase reloaded ammo from a reliable source (have done so for the last 10 years). It may be a decent place if you don't have a family. But, I do so I can only give 1 star. Despite their declaration to the contrary, it's not a "family oriented" establishment as they wouldn't let my son shoot. We've never had any problems at Spring Guns & Ammo or Gun Emporium in Conroe. So, if you want to go for a family outing, I'd suggest other options. SRR does have a fancy building and they wear matching uniforms though so there's that. read more

I just moved to Texas from California and couldn't wait to get the California taken out of my guns. First I was blown away with everything that was available. But then I got talking to the people. Gun smith Mac McMeans got me squared away. I thought I would have to leave my rifles but he turned them around while I waited. It was only a 30 min wait but I couldn't help but hit the range with a rental. Grant at the rental counter was great and answered all of our questions. I would give no stars but it doesn't allow that. I went in two weeks ago to get my used bow that I had bought. I wanted to get the bow checked out, tuned, and the draw length adjusted. The Tech said that it really needed a new string and cable. He said that it would be $125.00. I agreed to that and left my bow. after having to sign a paper that I agreed to letting them sell my bow if I didn't pick it up within two weeks after it was ready. I went in to pick my bow up and at first they couldn't find. After about ten minutes of searching they finally found it. They hadn't adjusted anything on the bow. They couldn't have adjusted the draw length because they never measured to see what my draw length was. So I got the tech that was helping me to do that. When we got everything done He informed me that it would be an additional 5 dollars for the adjustment. It wasn't the amount that bothered me it was the fact that I was Quoted a price that was supposed to include that, since I had told the first tech that I wanted that include before he quoted me a price. I think that is a really shitty way to treat a new customer, especially since I had been referred to them from another customer. I promise that I will tell everyone that I would not give them any more business of mine and that you can't trust them to keep there word when the give you a quote. read more

I took a basic handgun class here and was charged $17 for a 50 round box of standard range use 9 mm ammo. Are you joking me? They sell them online for less than half the price and these people are ripping off gun newbies. And the instructor taught with an unstructured plan and after the "class" became a whole-hearted salesman trying to get me to buy anything and everything he could get me to buy. Best range in Houston area. Top notch facilities, staff and equipment. You can make a day out of a visit, shoot your bow then have some lunch at the cafe and then finish with shooting some guns in the premiere shooting range. You can shoot pistols or rifles and calibers up to .50 BMG. Great place for the enthusiast and family. read more

The range was well run and clean. But I'm not impressed with the maintenance of the rental guns. I rented a Glock 34 to try with the thought of buying one. I paid for a range slot and bought a box of ammo, as required. When I was done, I was told that the battery in the sight was dead, and that the sight wasn't working properly. I asked for a replacement box of ammo so I could shoot it with a working sight and was ignored. What's the point of renting an improperly working firearm? read more

Great place. Alittle pricey for a range bay, bays need a table or something instead of everyone having to put their gear on the floor...not to mention a tripping hazard. RO's seemed to be paying attention about safety etc. It was a clean facility and if you needed something then there seemed to be somebody there to help. read more

Living nearby I stopped in with my son (18) and daughter (21) accompanying me to use the range. My first thought was at noon on a Friday the facility seemed very cold and sterile. We first stopped at the closest counter to the door and waited to be assisted. No one greeted us or even acknowledged us. After a couple of minutes we realized we were at the sales counter. There was one salesman working. He was engaged at the far end of the counter with a customer. But agin, not as much as a chin nod much less a smile was directed our way. Realizing we were at the wrong counter we discovered the range check-in desk, hidden around a corner and out of sight from the front entrance. The attendant behind the desk curtly greeted us and informed us that before we could do anything we had to watch a six minute safety video. (None of the ranges own safety policies demonstrated in the video were performed by the range staff during our visit.) We also had to sign an electronic waiver before firing, once again missing any human interaction with the staff except for being pointed to the tablets with the video. By this time the poor girl checking us in had a line of three other people waiting and a ringing phone. No one on staff offered her any assistance. The rest of the Saddle River staff constantly passed by getting coffee and sodas at the cafe, where the person working the cafe had her young child hanging out. Still no hellos, welcomes or conversation from anyone. Finally we got checked in, paid and were pointed to our range lane. So it looks like Saddle River has three individual ranges with there being six lanes in the range and lane we were assigned to. All were empty except for us. So why on earth was a total stranger, who came in a few minutes later, put on the lane right up next to us when there were no less than 15 other lanes he could have been assigned to? The range attendant, who only once left his control both to sweep up brass, also exchanged not one word with us. So we fired our rounds, packed up and left. I was not surprised when no one thanked us for coming or said goodby. For a new range, one that advertises memberships, I would have expected at least one person to offer a tour and proudly show off their facility. And for the price, I'd expect more than one target to be offered. I wonder if Gander's range is up and running? On the other hand, My daughter did return the next day for the LTC class and said the instructor was outstanding and range staff more engaging. Me, I don't know if that's enough to bring me back. read more

This is my favorite range to shoot at. What makes this range my favorite range/store is that the staff is very knowledgeable and they are not what many gun stores and gun ranges have become today. I have experienced and been told stories of new shooters being ridiculed because they are new to the culture and do not know as much as a person who is active in the culture. Everything I have experienced first hand (including introducing my girlfriend to the culture) has impressed me. Everything from the top notch range masters who do not just yell and scream when they see a problem but actually want to help people understand what they are doing and how do do it safely, to the extremely knowledgeable staff who will take the time to converse with new shooters, to the cafe which is pretty darn good, I'm impressed! Everyone from new shooters to people who have shot all their life will appreciate Saddle River Range! read more

On the expensive side (continue reading to reiterate this point), range is clean and ventilation is good, usually have enough employees working so you don't have to wait too long. Different story if you go on a weekend, but that's going to be any retail store. I found out the hard way that they charge a $55 transfer fee. That is ludicrous. I appreciated that Saddle River wasn't price gauging as much as the other stores during this panic buy, but they lost my loyalty after finding out they charge $55 for a transfer. Find a cheaper place if you need to get something shipped to an FFL. read more

This was my first time coming to this range and will also be my last. The range was very clean and up to date. Staff was courteous and seemed knowledgeable (though I did not talk with them at length). My big concern and why I will not be returning to this range is the restriction on brass removal. They will not let you pick up your brass (you know the stuff that you paid for and brought into the range with you) for reloading. This is a major problem for me and until they remedy this I will not be back, nor will I be recommending anyone else to come. I understand that the range sells off the brass, but to not allow me to pick mine up is unacceptable. Shame because they seemed like a good place to go shoot. read more
