Took my daughter and son in law both 20 years old to teach them handgun safety. First guy that helped us was very nice and asked if we had hearing protection and glasses, they had never been to the range before so they didn't have any, this is the first range I have been to that doesn't have loaners so we bought 2 ear muffs @ $16.50 each and safety glasses at $6 each. They asked if I would like to pay before or after and I said I won't need more than an hour so I would like to pay up front. So I went ahead and paid my range fee and for the safety gear then headed over to sign the waiver and watch the video. Once that was complete I asked which lane to go to and another guy said you need to pay $26 for the 2 minors. I said I told the other guy I wanted to pay everything up front so why do I need to pay again? Anyway they charged me again $26 on top of everything else I already paid. They should have charged me everything at once when I told them I wanted to pay upfront. The guy was really excited to collect that $26 on top of the $115 I already paid. So enjoy the $26 it's the last of my money that will be spent here. I can get over the no loaner glasses and ear muffs which cost me $50 to buy, but to stop me after I already paid to collect another $26 is ridiculous. If they wanted the extra $26 they should have charged that the first time. read more

Terrible customer service! I bought over $1000 dollars of pistols 45 days ago. The Stoeger 9mm they sold me will not load any ammo without a special magazine speed loader. The gun is brand new and has never been used. The manager offered to buy it back for half the price! Now I have a useless 9mm that will only hand load 5 bullets at a time. I will never do business with this place and will not recommend to any of my Marine Corps brothers or veteran community. read more

Place is overpriced on everything and only seems to be going up. I've been in quite a few times, enough times to know to call ahead to see who is in so I can avoid certain people and see others. Clayton is one such person I try and see every time I go in. He's a knowledgeable person, but doesn't force it on you. Walks you through different guns and features without a sales pitch or forcing you in different directions. He helped me out with my edc gun and didn't let me down either. Same with Toby in the archery department. He could open his own archery shop and I would drive twice the distance just to see him and get his know how. Such a great attitude and person. Clayton and Toby are small time gun and archery store people working at the big gun store which is a shame because their hard work is drowned out by poor management and sales of big gun stores trying to gouge the customer. They want to help you get what's best for your budget and have fun doing it. If you're looking to buy gun related products, TX ARSENAL or even Renaissance Shooting Club are the best places to look imo. Small time places with knowledgeable people not trying to kill you with markup. They offer great bulk buys for ammo and the shooting club is all outdoor far superior to the indoor at Saddle River for just $420 for the year and offers so much. Especially being able to draw from holster, shooting competitions, discounts, run n gun, tac trainers, etc. If you're looking to try a gun or want some info, come to saddle river to rent and talk to Clayton. If you're ready to buy or shoot regularly, there are better places. Love guns and gun shops but not how they're run sometimes unfortunately. read more

Been here a couple times. Ammo is crazy expensive, all there services are super expensive, and the shooting range prices is absolutely rediculous. $22hr for pistols and $30hr for rifles. I won't give any names but just do a Google search and you will see that there are many places around for half that price and for unlimited indoor or outdoor range time. Don't bother getting knives sharpened here either because that's $20 per knife. Just get a $20 knife sharpener and do it yourself, first time I went there I walked around for 20 minutes without anyone even saying hi to me or asking if I needed help. First of all, I have to separate my experience of getting my CHL from the actual range. When I came to my CHL experience, it's a 5-star. The instructor was informative, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Now for the actual range and store. The Range: It is by far the nicest range in The Woodlands area. It's very much like Athena or Frisco Gun Club as it is a "higher-end" indoor gun range. Yeah, the lines are long on the weekends, but the facility is top notch. Prices are a little steep for non-members, but it's nothing out of the ordinary for indoor range time. The Store: The real con and the only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating. Some of the products (including the firearms) are "price--y." I get it, it's convenient and the demographics they are catering to those who can afford convenience...but it is not what I'm use to. I get it, they have to make money but "ouch." Maybe members get discounts or something, but just as as store, they could be more reasonable. Lack of information and price pushed me towards an online purchase for my AR-pistol and my concealed carry. Snack Bar and Service: Great, convenient, and serve up a decent pizza for being in a gun range. The service was great in my experience. From the sign in for the range to the food area. This all being said, it's an excellent venue for shooting and getting in some range time. read more

Went in at 7:23, supposed to be open til 8, there were 3-4 cars in the lot, the kids behind the counter said they were closed, then they said they were full. I read the response to my complaint and the owner said I cursed on the way out, a blatant lie, I was wearing my work shirt with the company I work for so I said nothing and walked out straight to my car and left the review. I'm flabbergasted they said I cursed on the way out, I would sue this place for slander if I could, I will go out of way to make sure people know this place is the worst. Simply put.. Experience 1. Tried to buy a gun with valid TX license (previous address but temp paper license also) and Gov issued Car title certificate with new address - refused told its a felony .. please review Brady law on legal requirements for legal purchase. Experience 2. Tried to buy wife concealed gun with wife with me - cited "straw" law and declined again! Went to 2 different gun stores after and legally purchased 2 firearms legally as I'm 1) legally allowed 2) not felon (never even had a ticket!) 3) have all appropriate paperwork. I'm A US citizen with Impeccable legal record and several guns but for some reason this store and one member of staff in particular doesn't understand firearm possession law. I've been here a few times now and have had wonderful experience every time. SRR is the perfect combination of Firearm sales, Archery, Cafe and Lounge blended into a comfortable inviting little piece of shooters heaven. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I've had the privilege to meet Shooting Instructor Mike and "pick his brain." With his knowledge and direction, I was able to correct how I focused on my sights, adjust the way I held my Firearm and and successfully tighten my group. Thanks Mike! I have yet to purchase any firearms or experience archery. However... The Cafe food is excellent! The bacon grilled cheese sandwich is AMAZING! The more bites I took the younger I felt. LOL. The perfect lunch. The club sandwich and bacon cheeseburger with their uniquely curled fries are also highly recommended. However, you may need a quick nap afterwards. This past week my PSA KS47 was delivered. Lauren called me that day but I could not get in until the next morning. Got there and they were busy. Lauren pulled the gun and help me complete and process the paperwork. In the meantime I had given Miller a list of things to help with. He pulled the ambi-safety and mounts for my ATN scope, (2) clips, soft case ..... once I was done with Lauren, Miller walked me over to the Gunsmith shop where John (& Noah) helped me and Rod processed me out. Told them I needed back early this to take hunting. That was Thursday - Saturday AM the gun was ready. They had called Friday to let me know the one piece quick release would not fit and they would do a credit and recharge. Got there Saturday AM and the headman, Jeremiah was there. He and John loved the gun (which made me feel good). He pointed out that with the ATN scoped mounted it was difficult to function the extractor but not impossible. He brought out (4) options, we went thru and I picked the one I felt was best. He mounted there and walked me thru the process. I haven't used all the products enough to comment - but the service to date - is as good as anywhere I've been in a long time. Makes you feel good to do business there. read more

I'm a member, senior and a vet and when I asked if I could get a discount they said no, we want to encourage you to buy the firearm from us. Well I told them that certainly didn't motivate me to purchase from you, especially when I called you first to see if you had what I wanted and was told no. My first visit! Great facility, but had some concerns with the staff. Remember this is my first time to even walk in. My Sister and I wanted some range time. While waiting for lanes to open I walked over to long Guns and ask the person behind the counter where the gunsmith was. He looked in the direction and said, "where the sign says gunsmith". In my opinion that's not how you treat anyone, much less a newbie to your facility. I just felt it was rude and he could have been a little more friendly. The second concern was I stood at the sign in front of the range desk and was ignored for about 5 minutes even though there was nobody else in line for assistance. Finally was helped and nobody said anything about watching the short video and electronically signing the waiver, etc. until our lane was ready. Poor customer service. The range was nice, but it sure would help if you have table up against the glass wall to put gear on instead of on the floor.
