Overall, this place is a decent, typical diner. The food is decent (not amazing, but not bad)! The service was good and our waitress was attentive to our table. We went for breakfast, and I got the Mexican Chilaquiles and overall it was good. What I loved the most was the ambiance! The decorations do have quite a bit going on, but it gives you a lot to look at. I enjoyed the two trains on their tracks around the first main room that you walk into (the trains are pretty close to the ceiling). Even as an adult, it was fun to watch where the two trains would cross paths! read more

We come here all the time the food is amazing. I love seeing their limited edition pancakes. This time they had fruit pebble pancakes with this sort of raspberry sauce and delicious whipped cream. The staff are fast and make a well oiled machine. It's a diner so it's rather loud and always crowded but for good reason! read more

Great food and service. Like the ambiance from the drive in mural and the train that runs along the ceiling.

I grew up on Tops Diner but everytime I've dined here it's always been a home run. Last visit, I came for breakfast. They were crazy busy and the waitress was even a little rude because it was the end of her shift but that a Jersey diner for you! We still got everything we needed and the food was delicious. My boyfriend got a pastrami sandwich and loved it. I got their tomato feta omelette and it was great. Plentiful toppings and fresh eggs. Their disco fries are absolutely fantastic. Tons of gravy, extra cheese and perfectly seasoned fries. Big portion too. No matter the meal, get a side of disco fries. You won't be disappointed! read more

Giving it 3 stars cause it's a good place but the food is average. Not that there's anything wrong with the place. I got the basic 2 eggs with a side of home fries and turkey sausage plus a side of french onion soup. They have one of the best French onion soup and is the star of the meal. Eggs were good (you can't mess that up). Sausage was alright. Didn't have that snap but was inedible. If I rated the home fries alone it would be a 1 star. They were just sad. Had a coffee and orange juice and it's unanimous that all diner coffee sucks. Service was prompt. Sat at the bar and the gentleman there was nice, kind, and took my order as soon as I was ready. Food was out quick too. Ambiance for a busy diner was nice. You get that American diner vibe and you get the peace of mind sitting alone at the bar. Overall I'll still come back here time to time. read more

Amazing variety of food! Great service and the mix fajitas were delicious. We had a burger too and it was very tasty! My son had tenders and it was a nice portion. I ate a portion of my fjitas as it was so much, with rice, salad, and the tortillas nice and warm! I highly recommend! read more

Diners are known for their comfort food and saddle brook diner did not disappoint. The chicken quesadillas were hearty and the pulled pork on Hawaiian roles were good even for picky eaters like my kids. The theme of 50 or 60 with the music is a classic! Service was fast and severe was great and attentive! Overall a great experience and a must for finer enthusiasts! read more

Saddle Brook Diner - What is this. - Diners Near Me - Saddle Brook, New Jersey

If you love Jersey diners then you'll love the Saddle Brook Diner located off of Market Street as it's no small feat to have a thriving diner with all the competition. Upon arrival, one sees the murals of Americana on the walls and model train running across the top of the walls. While their menu is as extensive as any typical NJ establishment, everything on their menu is made well. From breakfast, to burger to dinner entrees one could always count on the food where my partner and I ordered for takeout dinner. We decided on two tonight's specials - Chicken Primavera (Sauteed Chicken and Vegetables in a light cream sauce tossed in a Farfalle Pasta) and Seafood Bruschetta (Scallops,Shrimp,Calamari & Mussels, Sauteed in a White Wine Sauce,Tossed w/Bruschetta & Capellini Pasta). Both included either a soup or salad and house cake. The exceptional food remained hot in its containers with large portions. The orders were accurate because of the friendly and pleasant staff. Annette took the call and made sure we were taken care of. We can recommend this place. read more

My family goes here often. The food is really good. More like a restaurant than a diner. However, the service is not the best. You have one or two servers that are good. We will keep going there however because we like the food. It would be nice if they worked on the service though. They also have a girl there that cleans up the tables. She's to fast. She's literally standing there waiting for your fork to hit the plate lol. read more

Huge portions and such a cute place to eat! Loved to see the train go around the top of the diner. The Vegetable panini was to die for and someone else had the pulled pork sandwich with grilled pineapple. He said he loved the grilled pineapple and the sauce on the panini enhanced the amazing flavor. Great place! read more

Had a wonderful breakfast yesterday at the Diner! Our server Nicole was so lovely! She also went the extra mile for me- the Diner doesn't really have Vegan food, but Nicole found that they do serve Vegan Chicken nuggets- you can get them Buffalo style, too. For some reason, mine didn't come with the sauce, but no matter- I added Chulula sauce. Had mine in a wrap with lettuce, tomato and onion- crazy-good!! And Nicole hooked me up with lightly, deep-fried potatoes. Cute interior, 50's music plays so it adds to the old-time diner feel- clean, generous food portions...totally recommend! read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch the other day. Good diner fare here. Had the cheese burger deluxe with fries. It was perfectly okay. I asked for medium and it was done perfectly medium! Fries were fine too. My partner had chicken soup and chicken salad sandwich on rye bread. She reports a perfectly delicious lunch. Coffee was hot and good, cups were quickly topped off as needed. read more

Ehh I feel like lately the food just hasn't been as good as it used to be. I had a piece of rubbery chicken last week and the waitress pretty much blew off my complaint which want right. I had decent fried clams here a few years ago, so when my wife and I visited relatives in the cemetery, we had lunch at the Saddle Brook Diner. The place is clean, the staff is nice, service was decent. We started off with nice salads that were very fresh and nicely presented;they were the best part of our lunch. My wife ordered grilled cheese with bacon and French fries while I opted for the fried clams I enjoyed on my last visit. My fried clams were tough and greasy as were the onion rings on the top. My wife's grilled cheese was very greasy too. The fries were OK for both of us. All in all, everything but the salads was overly greasy and both of us had indigestion after. read more

I'm usually not a big fan of diner food but the reviews on Google are great so I figured we would try it out! Everything was good! Could use a bit more sauce for the panini and possibly a different side than sour cream for the Pierogis. A diner is a diner is a diner and in NJ they are everywhere. But what sets this apart is the friendliness of the owners and the solid food! Love the decor too. Love this diner! I literally drive past Chit Chat and go here instead for their giant portions, great pricing and awesome customer service! This place is an old reliable spot for whatever you feel like you want to eat. In my opinion they make some of the best matzoh ball soup around. Their soup has vegetables and real chicken chunks. Saddle Brook Diner - Our favorite waitress - Diners Near Me - Saddle Brook, New Jersey

Had lunch clean, nice atmosphere Excellent food great choices at a good price with great service

Atmosphere: The retro Saddle Brook Diner sticks out on the main road. It's a large, retro-looking diner and blast from the past. The inside of the Saddle Brook Diner has plenty of booths, tables, and a large bar section. If you're looking for a picture-perfect diner, the Saddle Brook Diner is it. Coffee: The coffee at the Saddle Brook Diner was good. There was nothing unique or unusual about it, but it was good. Food: The Saddle Brook Diner menu has everything a diner typically has. There are plenty of breakfast options from pancakes to eggs, as well as lunch and dinner options. I was hoping to find a Saddle Brook Diner menu special, but all of the specials were almost pasta and I wasn't in the mood for the pasta. I decided to order the seafood kabob. It came with scallops, shrimp, and grilled vegetables all topped on rice. It also came with a side salad. The side salad was ok. It had greens, as well as a few unique items, including beans. The seafood kabob was unique as that it didn't come on a stick. They removed it already. The seafood tasted good, but I do wish there were more grilled vegetables. It wasn't a lot of food for the price. It was a lot of rice and the quality of the salad wasn't great. Service: The waitress at the Saddle Brook Diner was friendly. The manager put my table directly at the front with the light in our eyes. Whenever the waitress came over, we were all squinting. It always seemed like we were bothering the staff when we asked for something. Overall Thoughts: I probably won't be back. The Saddle Brook Diner is a decent diner, but it's an expensive diner for the amount of food you get. read more

This is probably my dad's favorite place to eat. I am a fan as well because my son loves the trains in one of the rooms. If you are not familiar, one room has a couple circular train tracks elevated around the edges of the room. I typically go for one of the breakfast specials. Some have included eggs with hollandaise sauce on a large English muffin, specialty omelets, and breakfast burritos and wraps. They are flexible when it comes to custom orders as well. For lunch, I recommend the gyro platter. Not surprising in view of my Greek heritage but hey it's good! Basically, I think you can't go wrong with any choice. Be warned though that the diner can fill up fast, particularly after a Sunday church service. read more

Trash service. Ordered to go. Went out there to pick my order and was greeted kindly by who I'm assuming was the male host. Told him my name and he grabbed my food quick. I was ready to pay/go. However, stand by. Some old dude paying his check was flirting with the young female host cashier interrupting the normal flow of customers attempting to pay. There's about 5-6 people around the cashier waiting for whatever it is that they're waiting for. The older woman hostess who was standing right next to the younger one was fiddling with receipt machine and did not acknowledge me. I was legit standing right in front of her. Following the old dude leaving, the young hostess and the old hostess began to have a conversation. I'm standing there like a moron for approximately 15 seconds and I'm not acknowledged until the old hostess lady looks at me. I found the look bizarre so I whipped out my card to pay (I guess I am a mind reader). Handed me my receipt and I left. Yea I get it it's Saturday but you can do a better job of managing the people around the point of sale. Be a little more attentive with everyone around. The business has been there for a while so you'd think they'd be at the top of their game. People are spending THEIR money at YOUR business. read more

******HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! (8/29) GARBAGE ON THE BOTTOM OF COFFEE CUP! Went for breakfast. Waitress was very unfriendly and seemed uninterested in helping us and others. We let that slide. We ordered a coffee and juice. She came back and then took our order. While we waited for our meal my boyfriend was drinking his coffee and to his surprise he found something half way through. THERE WAS GARBAGE IN HIS CUP!!! There was a small plastic dressing cup lodge in the bottom as well as an empty creamer cup!!!!! We immediately got up and left. Called while we were in the parking lot and spoke to the manager who met us outside. It was a calm conversation that got slightly heated at points but no screaming. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A HORRIBLE PANDEMIC AND YOU ARE SERVING CUSTOMERS DIRTY CUPS!! WITH GARBAGE!!! Then all of a sudden another worker came out and started SCREAMING at us. Calling my boyfriend all sorts of names and telling him to invest in anger management classes. When she was the one that came outside SCREAMING. When it wasn't her issue to deal with. All the manager and the other woman could say was it was an accident. And the other woman says you shouldn't have came out and dined if you were so afraid of the virus. Which makes no sense because we weren't afraid until we received a coffee with garbage in it. ****** STAY AWAY!!! read more

There are some good things and some bad things about the Saddle Brook Diner. The biggest problem is the attitude problems with 1/2 the wait staff. You cant sit there and have a meal without one or a group of them -always- complaining about how much money they made or this table left me only that amount, they think about themselves and nothing else. They need to learn have a personality. There one waiter that's cool. First day there, waitress was slow as xxx 20 minutes 6 tables and none of them had their order taken. Later we find out that's the one that complains all the time about anything that enters hair empty blonde head. Complains and then thinks the mirror in the desert refrig. is her personal makeup counter and starts to brush her hair for about 20 minutes in a food prep area, no one says anything! Food is good and well presented but don't expect 99% of the wait staff to know anything about it. They go through their motions and even in 24 hours they don't know you, so that's a big minus. The food well presented and it has good presentation. So best part of the kitchen is the food that comes out. There are some bus boys that work hard and are always attentive. What brought the place down is the attitude of these employee's that most of them seem to care about themselves. They complain about not making the they were making pre-covid and are totally cluessless that customers are paying $15 for something that used to $9. They want to make more money than someone with an education and a job, because they dont want to put the grind in, there's one female exception to this. read more

Moved around the corner from this place and decided to give it another chance. Came for Valentine's Day for drinks and appetizers. Ordered Long Islands and asked the price before I decide to order more than 1 round. Waitress said $10 and when I got my bill they were $15. I brought this up when paying and the older guy at the register basically challenged this and questioned the waitress and yelled at her which so found disrespectful and embarrassed for the waitress. Why would I pay $15 for cheap liquor when I can go to Grand Lux Cafe and pay the same for top shelf. The food was never my favorite either. read more

I am a huge fan of Saddle Brook Diner. The menu is quite varied and I have yet to have an unsatisfactory meal. I especially like breakfast items that, in true diner fashion, are available all day. I like to treat myself to their eggs benedict with hash browns - consistently first rate! My wife is a big fan of their panninis made with a variety of fillings. And I have to mention the baked goods and a big variety of special desserts that are on display as you enter. Yum!! Every server we have ever had is pleasant, courteous, and attentive. The ambiance is "Rock and Roll" which suits us baby boomers just fine. Finding a good diner with great food and pleasant surroundings and service can be challenging. I'm a firm believer in the correlation between a mozzarella's stick's pull and how good a diner's going to be. From the picture attached, you can tell this is some high quality pulling. I usually go late nights which can sometimes bring down the quality of the food but Saddle Brook makes it fresh no matter the time of day. The reuben is my go-to (pastrami over the corned beef but that's just personal preference). Lastly these fries HIT DIFFERENT. What's the secret? read more

This is one of my favorite diners and go to places to eat. The service and food are always excellent, and the prices aren't too bad either. It is usually pretty busy no matter what time you go but everything always moves quickly. I've only had a few different things from the menu, but they each tasted great. My favorite thing to get from here is the BBQ chicken panini. It is the best and most filling panini I have had. I usually get it with curly fries with cheese. These fries are delicious and you get a huge portion. The portion you get for the price you pay is a really good deal. I've also had the happy waitress which is a grilled cheese with bacon. This is also really good once again with a nice sized portion of cheese and bacon. This diner has it all. Good food, good prices, and good service. read more
