Their prices are unbeatable. The lovely woman who served us last we were there was so warm and kind, walked my partner through the menu options. Tea was SO LOVELY! A literal flower bloomed before us. Just gorgeous and so inexpensive for the amount you get. Their bagel roll is to die for-- hands down my favorite special roll, like, ever. I ordered it with spicy mayo and MMM. Fancy Dream roll was a close second, though the mangoes they're wrapped in aren't always in season-- the underripe flavor profile oddly works for the roll itself. Wasn't a fan of the grilled squid, I recall it used to have a strong crunch on the tentacles that was lost here. Spicy Kani I could eat forever. And ever. SO GOOD. Why the hell is it impossible to find in LA?! Sigh*, I digress.. Ambiance is super casual mom n' pop local shop! Not at all visually stimulating, however.. Community vibes goin' all around. My go to sushi spot in Brooklyn and conveniently located near me. The ambiance is super chill and laid back. Nothing fancy and that's what makes it great in my opinion. You just sit back, enjoy your meal and hot tea maybe a dessert because why not. My usual order is shrimp tempura, salmon, white tuna, red tuna sashimi, spicy salmon avocado roll, jasmine or chamomile tea, mochi dessert ice cream. The fish is always fresh and delicious. It's consistent with them. The shrimp tempura is crunchy. The tea always knows how to soothe my stomach and heart. The mochi vanilla and green tea is always good. I need to try other flavors. The in house service is 10/10. The waitress is kind and attentive. Delivery service is 10/10. This is such a gem ! read more

No frills sushi. This is really a 3.5/5 Stars place. Unfortunately yelp does not have a half the star option. This is a dine in review. Staff: Great, friendly and patient. Did not have to ask for refills of water, done automatically. Good staff is very much welcomed in the cozy restaurant. Nothing really much to improve on here except when food is brought to the table. Sometimes the entree is brought out prior to the appetizer. That's not really what customers expect when planning their dinning experience. Not the biggest complaint in the world. Sushi: Very consistent throughout the years. Tasty but nothing too fancy here, nor should they be. It's meant to keep prices down and for the price and value, it's fine. Regular rolls are between $2.50 to $3.00 which is really a bargain. You really can't mess them up. Ginza, Philadelphia, spicy salmon are some of my personal favorites. The dinner/lunch boxes are really great for the money. However, when ordering a teriyaki option within the box, a lot of sauce is used. It should be a favor not a downed in sauce. I'm sure if knowing this, you could ask for less and they would. Shrimp/beef and white fish teriyaki sit on a bed of onions. All good. Appetizers: This can be hit or miss. The "pizza(salmon)" and yummy shrimp is great. Both very saucy. Do not by any means get the bbq fish balls. Their quality was worse than microwaveable and I'm sure is not a popular menu item. They were rubbery, no crispness. Seating: Never await and when I went Sunday evening no one was inside but plenty of delivery orders. It's a nice beach option. Bathroom: I enjoy a restaurant with a clean bathroom. There is an air freshener, paper towels, always clean. I also dig that purple wall art with the lady on there. I'll continue to come here and like it for what it is. A simple place to grab a quick bite. read more

Why do I come back here?? Service is terrible. The waitress actually gave my friend an attitude when she had the nerve to ask for a fork!! And someone please correct me but all the research that I've done has shown me that it is not an insult to anybody's culture when an American asks for a fork in an Asian restaurant!! The salmon skin roll was super dry even with the sticky sweet sauce they poured on it. The white tuna cucumber roll was surprisingly fresh this time and had a good amount of tuna. If you're looking for a some good affordable sushi this is the place to go! I've been a regular at this spot for the last 4 years and 1 new girlfriend later and I'm still coming to this spot and she loves it too! The boardwalk is near by, that plus the metered parking and a whole bunch of no standing spots because of the bus stops and train station on Brighton beach equals a terrible parking situation, I would say be prepared to circle the block a few times. I love this place. There is no other place in the East Coast with better sushi and I have been looking and there's no place with prices like theirs. It's always the same staff that works there and the dim lighting at night is very warming. They play beautiful music at a low volume so you can enjoy a conversation with people you came with while also appreciating their culture and the atmosphere. If you like spicy things, I highly suggest you order the spicy chicken appetizer. Every time I go, I have to order it twice because it's so good. The only downside of this place is that the water they serve you if you ask for water tastes like tap water, but other then that everything is amazing. read more

Sachiko is exactly what you want and expect in your local southern Brooklyn sushi restaurant. While it is probably mostly a take-out/delivery place, we went there for a quick bite for lunch and found them to be polite, welcoming, accommodating and efficient. We enjoyed the food. The rolls and miso soup were tasty and the portions were the market-appropriate size and quality. They're close by and hopefully reliable, so we'll be back and ordering from them. Tried the sashimi deluxe, the salmon, tuna, white tuna was good, the other were a mistery to me, deffinetly different flavor and texture. the seaweed salad, good. Do yourself a favor, and do not come here unless you want a snarky server, poor light and horrible customer service overall. Went there for a quick lunch, our table was not set up so the snarky "server" stole the utensils from other tables. It took them a while to ask for our order and to also to give us the check at the end. The whole ambiance of this place used to be lively and very welcoming. Chinese-owned sushi joints are very typical when it comes to lack of customer service and hygiene. It's sad to even go somewhere else when you are steps away from these joints but unfortunately for this place, they've lost a loyal customer. read more

We came on a Friday night and ordered two bento boxes and a side roll. After we waited about 25 minutes for the food, we got a bit antsy. The waiter said "The sushi is ready. Do you guys want to eat that first?", well...yeah. So we ate the sushi and waited another 30 minutes for the bento boxes. We had no updates at all from the staff as to why the bento boxes took so long. Literally, at the 30 minute mark, I got up and just asked for the check and to cancel the bento boxes since it took way too long. The waitress said "Its just about to be finished now." and we agreed to wait. I saw her go to the back and finish prepping it. It was mainly a bad experience because of the wait. It was excruciatingly long. I understand that you get a lot of orders coming in, but it's a Friday night. I would expect there to be enough chefs to control demand. One hour to wait for bento boxes is too long. The bento boxes were average. Sushi was eh. I wouldn't really consider coming back due to the timeliness. read more

Okay so the only reason I go to this place( or used to go) is because it's by my job and its easy to get to. Service is usually a bit slow but I didn't mind because prices at the sushi place by where I live are beyond exorbitant for mediocre food. The food isn't spectacular but its on Brighton so I let it pass. HOWEVER, My major qualm, the main reason why I am never stepping foot into that place again is the deal breaker of all deal breakers: sanitary conditions. Last friday my friend and I walk in and order our usuals. Not only do we wait a while but when my friend gets her food she notices a bug on her sashimi. She asked me to look just in case she was acting paranoid....it was indeed a bug. When I check my food, I realize the lettuce on my plate can double as a bug hotel. They weren't full blown cockroaches but the teeny tiny ones. So both of us call over the waitress and ask what the hell is going on. She then incriminates the entire joint by saying that, and I paraphrase, "this happens a few times before we are sorry but we cant find them all the time" This took me some time to take in. Just by what she said I can deduce; 1) THIS HAPPENED BEFORE!!!! 2) They find it difficult keeping their fish and other produce clean. 3) they have fed bug infested food to people unbeknownst to both chefs and patrons. 4)THIS HAPPENED....BEFORE!!! My friend and I throw a huge stink about how people can get seriously ill and the only thing they could say was " if anything happens bring the hospital bill". -_- And when we asked to speak to the manager, it was the guy who prepared the sushi who spoke not a lick of English. NEVER AGAIN am I stepping foot in there...and unless you guys want a side of E.coli with your sashimi I suggest you avoid at all costs. read more

As a local I have been going here for years with friends and family. This is a small joint in brighton so by no means is it a five star resturant but the food is still filling and worth it. I may be bias because I know the staff and chiefs and they know my brother and I but hey they have decent items on the menu. The special rolls are great try the summer, samurai, bagel, dragon, or Hawaii rolls these are favorites. Miso soup, edamame, and desserts like fried cheese cake and mochi ice cream are always on the list of things that are ordered with every meal. This is a place were its easy to go and get cheap good food. The place is comfy! Plus the service is spectacular. So yea it may not be a fancy Japanese resturant like you may find in the city but if your in the area and want some fast filling japanese food come here you won't regret it!
