Sabo's Subs is conveniently located next to a convenience store with gas, a breakfast/lunch/coffee shop and a Ramen joint plus they have parking spots. It also helps that it's close to the beach. The name is a bit off because your really getting a pita wrap not a roll, but I saw pics on yelp beforehand so I had a heads up. They have a walk up window for all orders. I stopped for lunch and my wait wasn't too long. I tried an Italian - Provolone Cheese, Ham, Genoa Salami, Red Pepper Relish at $10.99. They also come with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and Sabo's Famous Seasoning by default. My family wanted to split a Turkey. They reported it to be OK. The wrap was fresh, light and a big serving. Mine was wrapped poorly, but still held together well. The red pepper relish gave it a nice little kick and the pickles were a nice touch. It was a good wrap/sub, I've had much better, but considering the area it was simple and got the job done. I think the price was pretty fair, but they could have wrapped it tighter. I'll go 3.5 stars. read more

They consistently have yummy sandwiches. What I don't like about it, every sandwich comes with a standard set of ingredients. You can see at the bottom where the menu is you get everything on your sandwich unless you tell them what you don't want. For example if you want an Italian with only lettuce and tomato, you have to tell them you don't want mayonnaise you don't want American cheese you don't want pickles. It's a little backwards instead of saying what you do you want you have to tell them what you don't want. Super nice people. And they posted the phone number because the one that's listed on Google is not correct. So if you can place your order over the phone, picking up your sandwich will be a lot easier because of the parking situation. read more

I have been a customer here for over 20 years and have seen the different ownership changes it has gone through. It has always been part of our beach routine to have a Sabo's roll-up while at Hampton Beach. Last week was my last time ever. Amidst rising prices like everywhere else, it was around $23 for two wraps and nothing else. The part that closed the deal was that the wraps were Stale!!!! They were literally falling apart as we were eating them and didn't make it to the end. The end of a longtime Sabo's run for me. read more

If you were from the North East, Hampton Beach is where your family vacationed. For me it was 3 weeks in August. It's kind of like in MN, you go to the North Shore. So walking on the boardwalk after breakfast and laying on the beach this is where you'd want lunch. You could bring it back to the beach but I don't know if I ever waited that long. I always got a ham and cheese with mayo and extra oil. Once I tried to sneak one and when I got back everyone knew where I'd been because I reeked of the onions. I gave it the nickname Slobo's cause I would tend to get it all over me. The name stuck with my family. I even went there on vacation with my first husband. Thank God for some of the seafood places for lunch because I would eat here everyday otherwise. I remember it being a very thin Syrian bread which I prefer over the thick pita. I loved the pickles in it too. I somehow duplicated it in MN as best I could when I am reminiscing. This was the pioneer of the wrap. read more

Subs are actually wraps in Syrian bread. Pretty large over 12". All the ingredients were fresh. Eat in area is clean and cute. Friendly employees. Good place to eat if walking the strip. Owner came out to talk to us, said meats are cut fresh every morning. read more

Food is good for the price. Food actualy gets 4 to 5 stars. But the owners, while friendly, were talking to all the customers and not allowing them to eat in peace! Sheesh! Leave me alone already!! Paid by credit card...they FORCE you to leave a tip! I believe that is illeagl. I was not able to complete the transaction without leaving a tip. The tip about wasn't much, it was more of the principle. The nerve of them requiring me to leave a tip. That's just not right!!! For that, I would leave zero stars if I could. Doubt I'll come here again. If I do, I'll be sure to pay by cash. No way for them to force me to leave a tip that way!! read more

Yesterday it was raining so I walked up to this place to get a couple of wraps to eat on the porch with our friends at their cottage . You order outside and wait for the order . It was raining and I was the only one in line . I ordered 2 BLT wraps with lettuce , tomato, and may . I also ordered a turkey , roast beef wrap also with mayo . With 2 soda cans it was 38.50$ which is pricey but ok . I told the lady I was going to walk down to a place that has fries and come back . She told me my wraps would be ready when I came back . They were . She handed them when I came back . There was still no one in line . My wife and I had our Blt and Turkey/ roast beef wraps on the porch . There was hardly any meet in them . Today for lunch at work I opened the other BLT wrap . It was a turkey wrap with mustard , no mayo and barely any turkey in it . I don't understand why she did this . Your choices are limited, no sides, the "wraps" are skinny without much filling, nor actually wrapped- more like tubes. We got a grilled chicken wrap and a meatball. The chicken was not grilled- its what you would expect to find in a hot pocket (most likely microwaved/frozen). The meatball sandwich, one of their only "hot" subs, was cold and contained about 4 small meatballs, a super thin layer of cheese stuck to the wrap, and some tomato sauce obviously out of a can. It was so salty that I had to throw half out. read more

Sabo's has reopened! The entire restaurant was remodeled by the new owners and they are serving the same "subs" that have been a Hampton Beach staple since 1968. The wraps are perfect for eating at the beach and they are delicious! I've tried most of them! During lunch time they open up the dining room where you can get out of the sun and sit to enjoy your meal. They have old beach movies playing in there all the time, it's a really nice spot to relax. If you haven't been to Sabo's in awhile I encourage you to come back and see what they have done with the place while you enjoy the great subs you remember. Sabo's is a good place to go for a bite to eat. They offer various wraps, but we prefer to go with the Italian, plus chips and a soda. Sometimes long lines, but the price is good. The dining rooms is great for getting out of the sun, but you must clean your own table, which some customers fail to do. Sabo's has recently fallen under new ownership and we feel that the quality of the food has dropped a bit, yet that still doesn't stop us from eating here every year. read more

This is my favorite place to eat at Hampton! These subs are by far the best in the area. They had been around for decades and a few years ago the quality was slipping. Then the business was sold to new owners and WOW have they done an amazing job! They improved the quality and kept the recipes the exact same which means they are just as delicious as always. My favorite place to go at Hampton Beach. I've been going for of 25 years and was sad when they closed a three summers ago. It was a joyful reunion a couple of years ago when the new owner rejuvenated Sabos. Each morning at the beach, I narrow down the choices for the wrap I will have that day; Italian, Turkey, Turkey and Ham, Tuna...The new owners truly love their second career. Good wrap subs that are easy to walk around with and semi-healthy. Another season and another new owner but they have done some much needed renovations and the place seems headed in the right direction. I would never drive out of my way to go here as the posted hours are still just a vague guideline ( been burned this year). 7 bucks for a wrap that won't fill you on its own is a little steep but it is very unique and tasty.
