Just an hour away from the city, with plenty of parking, Cider Hill Farm was a great time! They have lots of small bites and also a food truck for proper food. They have a farm store and a cider bar. Their cider flights were very creative, you can try 4 for $26. We got half a dozen of apple cider donuts for $6 and hot cider for $3! Amazing prices compared to the farms closer to the city. The lines at the farm shop were very very long, so plan ahead. They have plenty of porta-potties but in the afternoon they had run out of soap. Something that they can keep an eye on for their busy season. They have some farm animals, lots of chickens. They also had pumpkins and other picking items, which we didn't indulge in. We ended up getting burgers from the food truck $19 with the fries. Overall I'm very impressed at how much space and how fast the service is as well as how adult and kid friendly they are. Come with your family or with friends, you'll have a great time!

I got to the checkout and realized my purse was missing. I absolutely freaked out as I thought it was stolen, and with all of the funeral arrangements we had to make, and my lack of sleep, I couldn't even IMAGINE having to replace all of my ID's, credit cards and keys!!! As I frantically looked around for my purse, the woman in back of me asked if everything was ok.....I burst into tears and said, "My purse was stolen and my Father just died"- I proceeded to lose it right there in the middle of Hannaford's in Hampton NH!!! What happened next was amazing. The woman behind me grabbed the manager, who was absolutely lovely. She was a younger woman with long dark hair and her eyes filled with tears and she gave me a big hug. The entire store proceeded to look for my purse and the woman behind me was incredibly kind and paid for all of my groceries. Another woman insisted she take me to my car to see if my purse was in there....I have never left my purse in the car, but she insisted we check. Sure enough, the purse was sitting in my car. I couldn't believe it! I am usually so organized and put together, but with all that happened with my Father, I clearly was not in a good frame of mind. The response I received from the Hannaford's manager, cashier and the patrons of the store was absolutely AMAZING. I have told this story many times over, as times are tough and we sometimes forget that there are really great people out there who will step up and help when others are in need. A big THANK-YOU to everyone for helping a distressed customer. The compassion and kindness is something I look to pay forward.

First, I was surprised to find that they no longer serve their lobster rolls on the grilled hot-dog-style roll they used to use. The lobster roll is offered either cold with mayonnaise or hot with butter. I don't like mayonnaise, but I also didn't want my lobster heated. I asked if I could have the cold lobster with butter instead, and the woman at the counter said that would be fine. When I received my receipt, I noticed I had been charged an additional $1 on a nearly $30 lobster roll simply to have hot butter put on the cold lobster. I was honestly flabbergasted. All I wanted was cold lobster with melted butter poured over it. What bothered me almost as much was the way the situation was handled. The customer behind me ordered a lobster roll, and the woman at the counter specifically asked if she was okay with having it on a sub roll. She had never mentioned that to me. After overhearing that conversation, I went back and asked why I hadn't been told that the lobster rolls were no longer served on the traditional roll. The response was quite abrupt, and the manager was called over. Unfortunately, the manager was also angry and rude about the situation. I simply explained that, to me, a traditional New England lobster roll includes the grilled, buttered roll -- and that is exactly what I had ordered at Al's earlier this summer and loved. In the end, I was refunded the $1 butter charge and also received a refund for the entire lobster roll, which was around $34. I'm very disappointed because I have always loved Al's and have recommended them in the past. But after this experience, I won't be going back to Al's for a lobster roll. It's not just the change in the lobster roll itself; it was the lack of communication regarding the change and, most importantly, the way I was treated when I politely asked about it.
