The manager handing us the mini arepas for the wonderful teaches at our school!
    Gradiva J.

Sabores generously provided a delicious donation of mini arepas for our school's teachers, and it was truly appreciated. The manager was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the process. Every visit we've had there has been a positive experience. Not only are the managers welcoming, but the entire staff consistently creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

After seeing that Sabores made Yelp top places I had to see for myself. I love going to tapa bars and love Spanish food. I came here during the week. Construction all over Columbia Pike but luckily there's a garage nearby that's free for the 1st hour, plus they will validate. Their menu choices are slim as compared to other Spanish tapa bars in the area. The ambiance was not there. Not romantic or cozy. .. I hoping to hear Flamenco music,or classic Latin music not reggaeton btw, I love reggaeton!! and I frowned when they were playing Bad Bunny and J Blavin . Like would you like to listen to Bad Bunny while your eating paella? I had their lunch menu special pick 3 for $24 which I thought was reasonable. I chose .potato tortilla croquettes Steak. the tortilla de patatas was decent. It was almost cold. I didn't wanna make a fuss but was disappointed at 12:30pm why would it be served cold? The flavors were ok and I like how the potato's were thinly sliced but it would have been more enjoyed if it was served hot. The croquettes which are my favorite tapas and I was looking forward to devouring it ... was mid. It lacked flavor and heavily breaded and seemed that it was deep fried in old oil because the coating of my croquettes were almost dark brown. I barely tasted any chicken. Jaleo/Spanish Diner have better croquettes. The steak.... was meh although I asked for medium rare.. it wasn't served hot. And could use more flavor. Service was impeccable which why I give it 3.5 stars . My waiter was very attentive to me, but I do agree that they try to push dessert too much... besides the choices were pretty slim.. after been disappointed on all 3 dishes of my meal. I declined. For lunch time and it wasn't busy. I dont understand why food was served almost cold. I dont know. Compared to other tapas restaurants in the area fell below my expectations. Boqueria Jaleo and Arrels would be my suggestions. I might give it another shot but they need to improve..

    Gambas Al Ajillo

Our dinner last night at Sabores was one of the best meals we have had in a long long time. Sabores means flavors in English, and I can say to you that the flavors of every dish were great! Service was absolutely fabulous. The best dish of the night was the Gambas Al Ajillo (garlic shrimp). The shrimp arrived in a bowl atop a most exquisite chili oil/sauce. The shrimp came with two large slices of a perfect rustic bread. The chili sauce was perfect for dipping the bread. We really liked how the manager/owner came over and chatted with us for a bit and described how the chili oil was prepared. When we expressed our pleasure he brought us out more bread. Yes!! If you like gazbacho, you'll love Sabores's version of this chilled soup. Topped with bits of crispy Serrano ham and crumbled hard-boiled egg, this dish was excellent. Also, it was served in a hefty quantity. The arepitas were excellent as well. I probably didn't experience the full joy of this dish because I requested that they not include the meat, which can be either shredded beef or chicken. I asked them to hold the meat because they were honest and told me their meats included my old friend cilantro. The Espinacas de Catalina (spinach) was wonderful. The fresh cooked spinach was perfect and came with little raisins and generous bits of apple and walnut. Perhaps this dish could have stood a little less oil. Still, I'll definitely order again. The skirt steak churrasco was perfect, cooked and seasoned just right. The chimichurri sauce that came with the churrasco was tasty. Since we were on a roll with the great dishes, I then ordered the Dátiles con Tocino (bacon-wrapped dates). These little wonders had a pleasant slightly smoky flavor, and perhaps a bit different than bacon-wrapped dates you've had, these were made with a light batter and were fried. Ah, with so many other dishes to explore on the menu, we'll be back. This was actually our second visit, so we know our good fortune here was no fluke.

I am the worlds pickiest eater. I did not try one bad thing. 10/10 recommend their unlimited brunch. It was affordable ($32pp). This is a great way to try different foods from different Latin American countries.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, it was pretty slow. Our server was accommodating and gave us great recommendations, definitely didn't disappoint. The interior is pretty cute, we got offer a few seating options, which was nice. I was looking forward to try the paella, a little disappointed, if it was cooked a little longer it would've been perfect. Other than that, i love the mini arepas, and the chickpeas. I definitely would still come again.

I walked in, from the street where construction was ongoing, and it was still super busy inside. From the bar to the dining area. Staff was friendly and attentive. Good courses came out at a nice soles to prevent getting too full too fast. Their Red sangria was nice, light and tasty. Ended up with the Ceviche Camarones. A little fire with a creamy finish with the side of plantains. Nice. Tapas are delightful. Different options for different tastes. They have a delicious looking dessert menu too. I didn't partake this time because I have to get up early for work tomorrow but... I definitely plan to come back for coffee and dessert!!! The bar is quite lively, so if you want a more quiet area, choose the dining area. They keep the place clean while you are dining. A quiet gentleman was walking around sweeping quickly and heading to the next area. Very chill and nice place to come and feel like you are an important guest. I liked that they were also polishing their drink glasses. They all shine at the bar. No water marks.

The food was good, but nothing crazy or standout. Service started off well; we were seated right away and greeted nicely. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. Our order was messed up twice, and when we asked for a dessert menu, it was forgotten as well. The staff overall was friendly, but the lack of attentiveness took away from the experience. I'm not sure I'd recommend this place.

Service: always super attentive and considerate servers! Food: hands down the best Spanish Tapas restaurant in the DMV. Food is full of flavors and they are always thinking of new dining experiences to try. I went with 2 friends for the all you can eat/bottomless brunch. We were really trying to eat everything on the menu. I love everything!!! Ambience: This restaurant takes me back to my trip to Spain. The beautiful bright walls and openness of the restaurant is so inviting. Tip: parking is behind them in the Giant's lot and you can get it validated if you are dining more than an hour. Follow them on IG - they are very good about posting for Restaurant Week, Paella Nights, special Wine dinner, etc. Definitely a must in the DMV.

My wife took me here for brunch. A really nice experience. They offer tapas and a great variety. All the tapas were fresh and delicious. They came out quickly but were fresh. We opted for the bottomless brunch definitely recommend. The server was amazing so attentive and made sure our orders were in and out timely. Nice decor and a nice bar. They we're showing the game today so definitely a restaurant we will revisit!!

    Seafood Paella (Paella de Mariscos)

Honestly I feel the food was overpriced, and to me it wasn't worth the half hour drive. The ambiance was decent. The establishment wasn't packed at all on a Monday afternoon. I had ordered a seafood paella as I'd been craving it, but the taste was just "okay". I will say the presentation of the dish was really nice but the flavor wasn't anything special. All in all, it was okay but not worth going back in my opinion.

My fiancé made reservations for Valentine's Day. Parking was easy with a validated garage nearby. The restaurant is spacious, the service was excellent, and the food was solid. We each ordered a wine flight and selected dishes from the Valentine's Day menu. I had the ceviche, paella, and heart-shaped shortcake, while my fiancé opted for the ribeye, lobster bisque, and chocolate mousse. The ribeye and ceviche were standouts--both flavorful and well-prepared--though the chocolate mousse was a bit too sweet for our taste. The atmosphere is versatile, making it a great spot for date night, catching a game, or hanging out with friends. Our server was incredibly attentive and even surprised us with a rose at the end of our meal! Great experience.

Sabores has a really good deal for a bottomless brunch. For $33 bottomless, getting to choose from a variety of normal brunch brunch items so you aren't just stuck for different versions of egg Benedict. we tried almost chicken croquettes were very good, black beans with beef was exceptional and slightly smoky, whole chicken dishes were very well done, the chicken was not dry and the plantains or were very good. The highlights were the arapas, in three different versions, all of which are very good. The side zucchini was also crispy and fresh. Staff were great about making certain dishes, celiac, friendly, a bunch of different gluten-free items. The waffles and pancakes were really the only typical brunch food and were fine, but all of the other items on the menu were fantastic. Once we put in our first order, it took a little while for food to come out, but once it did, they were constantly bringing dishes for our table. Would recommend ordering a bunch of different items and a little bit of everything! They have one dollar mimosas and five dollar bloody Mary for those who wanted a beverage with brunch. They had some cute decor and tables for parties of all sizes, they were able to accommodate a party of 14 with no problem.

Ordered two types of ceviche. For the price, the portions were small. The ambiance was tranquil, not too loud. Went there to watch a football (soccer) game. The service was decent. I haven't been back there, unsure that I will.

My first impression of Ser was its ambiance - nice mood lighting, comfy seats, and just the right amount of ambient noise. We had a reservation (recommended!) and were quickly ushered to our seats and given menus. The waiter was courteous, prompt (always re-filling our water glasses), and helpful when we had questions about the menu (e.g., about which wine he preferred). This was our first (but not last) time visiting Ser, and our initial foray into the menu was pretty basic. My wife and I split the jarrete de cordero (lamb shank), three tapas dishes (croquetas, pan Catalana, and berenjenas [fried eggplant]), and two cheeses. My wife's favorite tapas was the pan catalana, which was bright and slightly salty/sweet in flavor with great texture in the balance between the crispness of the bread and the softness of the tomato. I preferred the croquetas, each of which coated my mouth with the warmth of hot cheese and rich meat. The lamb shank consisted of a massive piece of meat on the bone, resting on a bad of mashed potatoes and slices of sweet peppers. The lamb itself was what it should be: thick, tender, and juicy with a rich, slightly gamey flavor. The addition of the mash and peppers made it even better, and I can say that this is the first time that I actually enjoyed peppers - before I just tolerated them, even in my own cooking. These peppers paired perfectly with the mash and lamb, and I relished every bite. I would be tempted to order this same thing again on our next visit, but I have to know what the meat paella is like. Anyway, it all paired perfectly with the Spanish tempranillo (that our waiter helped me select). I would be remiss if I did not talk about our to-go box. The lamb was too much for us (and by "us", I mean my wife, who was not up to the task of eating her share of the main course), and we asked for this to be boxed to take home with us. And I was blown away when the remains of our dinner were brought back to us already deboned (but with the bone included). I found this to be above and beyond, as I was not looking forward to cutting that meat off the bone (to put in my next day's lunch, which was glorious), not the least because I am not very good at doing this. And that we still got the lamb bone meant either stock for a stew or sharing a treat with our four-legged housemate. We really appreciated this!

The restaurant was packed. So for sure get a reservation if you can. First things first, the restaurant is beautiful. The art, the menus, the ambiance. Just a really great hangout spot. Our server was really knowledgeable and friendly. As for the food , unfortunately, i didn't have anything that blew me away. My mini hamburger/Ibérico de bellota mini hamburguesa was actually my favorite item. Very juicy and flavorful. Though $13.00 for one slider was a bit much. My least favorite was the rabbit confit with apricot puree/Conejo en salmorejo con puré de albaricoques. I was excited about this because I can't recall the last time I've ever had rabbit but I think it was the texture of the puree that took away from the dish. Coming in at the middle was the seafood paella. I know it's one of the restaurants headlining menu items but I found the seasoning inconsistent. The rice seemed a bit salty and the shrimp was pretty bland. Combining it to balance it out didn't yield the flavor I was hoping for. Weirdly enough, if I went back and the table ordered it again, I definitely wouldn't mind but probably wouldn't get it myself unless my companions were interested.
