We brought my brother and sister in law here on a Friday night to cherish them and to celebrate with them. It was a big success! We made reservations in advance and the restaurant accommodated our being 15 minutes late. The restaurant was very busy and bustling. It had a nice cozy, warming atmosphere. Most people were a little dressed up so you definitely get the sense you're out somewhere a little nicer. We ordered various appetizers and two entrees to share between the four of us. Everything was good but the bruschetta and the mixed paella stood out. We ordered a couple bottles of wine too - one wasn't great but the other was fantastic. I will definitely visit Sabor again. We've been to their sister restaurant Bodega as well. The quality of food at both restaurants is exceptionally high. I highly recommend Sabor if you're looking for somewhere with a classy atmosphere and ambiance as well as quality, tasty food.

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for ages and so glad I finally did! The restaurant is beautiful. The service was impeccable. All of the food I ate was spectacular. If you've never been, go! I'll definitely be visiting again.

Everything was cooked to perfection, the flavours were amazing. I am in prep for a bodybuilding competition and the waitress was very accommodating to my special meal requests. The mushrooms are a must for any side dish. My boyfriend really enjoyed the pasta, he said the best noodles he has had. The flavour of the lobster and shrimp paired very nicely with the sauce

Sabor has been around for a long time (since 2008) and has generally solidified itself as the best (and only?) name in Spanish, Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine in Edmonton. If you're craving this type of food, this is where you go. And Sabor knows how to give it to you good. In fact, their name means "flavour" in Portuguese. VUE Weekly voted Sabor #1 Best Portuguese 2018 and the Edmonton Journal names them repeatedly; Best Seafood Restaurant 2020, Best Fine Dining 2021 and Best Seafood Restaurant 2021. Known for their seafood, Sabor will take you on an Iberian coastal journey that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Located in the heart of Downtown (difficult parking is the only problem) on the boardwalk block known for its restaurants, the space itself is massive in size. They're so big that they were even able to turn their lower street-facing area into a secondary restaurant called Bodega that serves much of the same food as the main restaurant but in a more casual and laid-back environment. Meanwhile, Sabor itself is presented as a high-end fine dining experience and you can feel it from the moment that you walk though the door. The building is full of history, one of those places that doesn't need to pretend to be old because it actually is. Huge wooden pillars support the towering ceiling above, while the exposed brick feels like it can tell a story. The rest of the decor is simple because the building itself does so much on its own. Tasteful chandeliers hang throughout and the restaurant is known for its live music atmosphere. (Unfortunately I did not get to experience this as my visit was on a Tuesday evening, when they don't feature live music.) The space does a surprisingly good job of transporting you away to somewhere that feels quite a bit more like Europe. I had made a reservation but because my visit occurred in the middle of the week the restaurant didn't get too busy (although for a Tuesday night they still filled most tables). Seated at a cozy table for two in the vast dining room, there was never a shortage of things to see and surroundings to take in. Our server was an expert at his craft and made sure that we were always well looked after. Starting with the beverage menu I knew that I wanted to drink cava (a Spanish sparkling wine). At first I assumed that I would simply order a glass but why stop there? There were options for cocktails made with cava, including a Cava Sangria (Sparkling wine, brandy, triple sec, juices - $14.00 for a glass) which sounded like the most ideal summer beverage. They've taken the classic Spanish wine cocktail of sangria and have somehow made it even more Spanish by making it with cava. Perfecto! Refreshing and just sweet enough, this sangria was easy to drink and complimented the meal well. I liked the orange slice and green grapes floating within. Sabor also offers two other types of sangria and I should probably try them all. The menu at Sabor is very large and there are many options and types of food journeys that can be taken. Maybe you want drinks and tapas. Maybe you want a family style meal or Sabor's special three course seafood family dinner (I'm totally going to try this next time!). Or maybe you want to create your own perfect feast like I did. The ability to tailor your dining experience to your exact mood is easily achieved at Sabor. For me, I was looking for nostalgia. I have been to Spain and Portugal once each, respectively. As such, my goal was to locate some of the dishes that I'd loved the most on my travels and to taste those delicious flavours once again. We began by building an appetizer round reminiscent of our time in Barcelona. I was very pleased to find Jamon Iberico de Bellota ($32.00) on the menu, because it wouldn't be Spanish food without Iberico. It's expensive but deliciously worthwhile to treat yourself to some of the best ham in the world. Building on this, it made sense to select the world's most famous Spanish cheese; Manchego ($9.00). Both of the aforementioned items are served with bread. To accompany the bread I had to try the Chicken and Smoked Duck Pâté ($5.50). And lastly, from the Tapas section I selected the Grilled Sardine Fillets ($12.00). It was such a delight to luxuriate over a beautiful spread of foods. I excitedly got into the Iberico ham, made from 36+ months of aged black Iberian pork. The thin slices melted in my mouth and I loved the salty cured orchestra of flavours. The quality of this meat is so high, and while it didn't taste as fresh as when it is shaved directly off of the leg in front of you, this exclusive ham experience was very special. It's the best. (And not so readily available in Edmonton). The Manchego, a 12 month aged hard sheep milk cheese, is a classic. Just tender enough, this buttery cheese boasts a subtle sweet and fruity flavour. It went well with everything and was a great way to round out the appetizer course. I was super pleased with the addition of the pâté, ultra

Best seafood dishes!!! Friendly service. Love the piano player on weekends. Classy but casual. I enjoy sabor divino. Dined here by myself, with a significant other, as a large group and every time service is fantastic. Service is quite exceptional. Paced perfectly but not rushed with the privacy to hold a good conversation without being rudely interupted. I prefer the fish dishes as they are seasoned perfectly and are so fresh. The accompaniments are always perfect and have so much flavour. Its definitly farm to table like quality. The steak is great too but I find with large groups the steak is kinda inconsistent. some pieces drastically overcooked and some rare. But when ordered individually they are always perfect. I love how the desserts come in taster sizes too. I find the meals are large but I could never finish an entire dessert so the taster size is just right. I especially fancy the passionfruit cheesecake or the creme brulee. Both are outstanding. If you want to try this place out without breaking the bank...lunch specials are awesome. My fave is the Lobster risotto with black cod!!! Most specials are $21 and come with a choice of soup or salad. The specials change daily and are posted on their website. It sells out quick so best to get there before 1230.

Well how can I start. This place was absolutely amazing. The food was so good and so fast and fresh, we went there for my girlfriend birthday and to start they gave her a nice birthday card, the service was amazing and very quick. They pared us with a nice wine as we got the 3 course meal from the chef which as amazing. The seafood was so good and so fresh and the desserts were amazing! I hope to go back there again and enjoy this again

Every time they never fail to blow my mind away! I've had several work Christmas parties here in the private dining room at the back and have recently dropped in as a regular customer, and both times the quality of the service and the FOOD (especially the food) never cease to amaze me! The interior décor is delightful and slightly reminiscent of its Portuguese/Spanish origins with its gorgeous stained wooden tables, red brick walls, dim mood lighting, and close seating arrangements. Plus lots of cool plaques and designations as a top tier restaurant! I don't know where to start regarding the food - just flippin amazing! The quality and freshness of the ingredients and incredible cooking methods made these smaller portions even more delightful and delectable! Everything was cooked, seasoned and presented to perfection :D The virgin Sangria with passonfruit was refreshing, the meat & cheese on the crispy toasted baguette was savory-luscious, and the butternut squash soup was divine! I found taking my time really gave me the chance to savor and enjoy every bite, and contemplate the beautiful mix of flavors :P And lastly the customer service was great- being greeted at the door, helping me find my friend in the restaurant, great suggestions for drinks and menu items, very personable and delightful to be served :) I'm going back for more! (need to try me some seafood)

The hubs and I decided to go here for our wedding anniversary and this restaurant is well suited for the occasion. We reserved seating in advanced because my husband said it books up quickly. It's dim, intimate and classy. There was even a musician playing that evening. There's also a private dining area for larger group reservations too. Food-wise there's a decent selection & includes a couple local sourced options with cheeses. Lobster risotto seems to be the fan fave here. We ordered a 3 boars meal and lobster risotto, and a cheese & bread platter to start. It was quite delicious but a lot of food, which made it good for sharing and we did pack leftovers as did many other patrons here. So I definitely feel like my meal was worth it. Service was polite & attentive, and the pace here is unhurried which is a nice atmosphere for chatting...perfect for a date night.

It is a great place to share a bunch of items with friends. Two of my favourite things are the boar cheeks and the piri piri prawns. I also love the sardines but our friends weren't so eagar to have them. So what we ordered was a wonderful bottle of Portuguese wine, boar cheeks braised in red wine, topped with crispy onions, patatas bravas -fried potatoes, spicy aioli, piri piri prawns with piri piri aioli, robalo -European seabass fillet with olive oil, sea salt and lemon, and Spanish pork sausages with puttanesca mustard, baked Portuguese baguette and butter, and smoked duck carpaccio with truffle oil, arugula. Everything was delicous but the standout for sure was the seabass and the smoked duck carpaccio. I think that I should try a few new dishes each time I go. You will never know what will be your new favourites.

For dessert, we couldn't resist and ordered the whole menu--every bite was delicious. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine that paired perfectly. Most people in the city are familiar with Sabor, Edmonton's legendary Spanish and Portuguese restaurant. But have you ever wished that there was a more casual, more low-key version of Sabor? Maybe with multiple conveniently located spots around town? Well you're in luck because that's exactly what Bodega is! You'll find Bodega's flagship restaurant in the lower street level part of Sabor itself, however there are now five other locations. It's almost a guarantee that there is a Bodega near you, no matter where you are. People have loved this place for years. Voted as #1 Best Tapas 2018, #1 Best Spanish 2018, and #1 Best Wine Bar 2018 in VUE Weekly. CBC Edmonton's Best Restaurants 2019 listed them as Best of Downtown. And you'll find them as a Favourite Communal (Sharing) spot on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2022 list. It turns out that the people of Edmonton love a laid-back tapas moment and getting some sangria into the mix doesn't hurt either. I was excited to visit Bodega's original location in the heart of Downtown on a Saturday evening and to finally experience their flavours. The first thing to note about the OG Bodega restaurant is that they don't take reservations, however all of the other ones do. As previously mentioned, you will find the flagship location right inside of Sabor. Parking can sometimes be tricky in this area and that's the only downside. If you've been to Sabor before you already know how impressive the space is. The huge building is one of those places that doesn't need to pretend to be old because it actually is. Instead of heading up the stairs into Sabor's dining space, Bodega is found to the left of the entrance in the lower street-facing area. It's actually a wonderful use of space which otherwise might not have served much of a purpose. Less dressed up and grand than Sabor (but still bearing a similar decor), Bodega harnesses the Spanish modern-day watering hole vibe by featuring a simple but beautiful bar area and bistro-style al fresco dining in the warmer months. The dining space is small and because there are no reservations taken it might be necessary to prepare for a wait. When my group arrived it took about 15 minutes to be seated which seemed entirely reasonable. We were pleased to be situated at a beautiful little table outdoors, in the warm summer breeze. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bugs flying around that kept landing on our table and we had to ask to be moved to one of the more interior tables. Thankfully the staff was able to accommodate this! We really didn't want the bugs to land in our food. The servers who visited our table were all extraordinarily friendly and gracious. Of course there were going to be drinks! The wine list is plentiful and extensive. However, I was more drawn to the interesting Iberico gin & tonics, caipirinhas, sangria, and the signature cocktails. These are the types of drinks that I picture myself holding on a patio in the summer. From the cocktail list, the De Puta Madre (Mezcal, dry Sherry, pineapple, lemon, orgeat, cocoa powder - $16) sounded like the most special one to me. Out of curiosity, I put the name of this drink into a Spanish to English translator and had a pretty good laugh when I learned that it means Fucking Awesome. Well. Sounds like I made the correct beverage choice! And I really did enjoy sipping on this perfectly crafted cocktail. I was slightly worried that the mezcal would be very strong and boozy, but the balance of the ingredients was lovely. I felt that I was able to taste and appreciate the flavour of the mezcal without it being too overpowering. The fruity and sweet flavours from the pineapple, lemon, and almond syrup made the drink fun, but again it wasn't too sweet either. I loved this cocktail and it paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. The food menu is packed full of options and every single thing sounds enticing. The good news is that the plates are small and part of the experience is to order a lot of them. There's a whole long list of tapas, but also breads, spreads, charcutaria, and cheese if you are in the mood to create an exciting board (I always am!). There are also some larger plates if you are truly looking for one big meal of food. On this visit I was aiming to remain in the tapas realm since that is what this restaurant is actually all about. As such, we proceeded to barrage our server with a long list of items, eager to sample as many dishes as reasonably possible. We were asked if we would prefer to have every dish all at once, but opted for a slow and staggered method. No need to hurry though! It wasn't long before our parade of plates began to arrive. First was the Brushchetta (Grape tomato and fromage blanc - $14.00). I wouldn't have chosen this dish on my own accord but I saw it pass by on its way to a different table and it caught my eye. The tomatoes looked
