Free 2 hour parking in the parking lot in front of all the businesses. Place was empty at 5PM and only 20% full at 6PM on a Tuesday.  3 gender neutral bathrooms.  Waitress was nice BUT didn't tell us tacos were 20% off because it was Tuesday! Luckily we ordered tacos and I just happened to notice a discount on the bill and asked why we had it.  Water pitcher on the table was nice.  Tried the Ensalada Verde salad to start (share). Dressing was a little too sour for me and the greens were not crisp. 7/10.  I got the Fish tacos - 12/10 wow. Fish was SOOOO big and tasty. Slaw was meh but fish was wow wow.  Friend got the blackened chicken - 6/10, dry chicken, not a lot of great flavor or texture. We also got the Grilled Pina Colada dessert - 4/10. Pineapple had nice grill marks but was just warm, not caramelized like Pampas. Ice cream was good but just vanilla. Pineapple sauce was just thickened pineapple juice. Tiny sprinkle of granola on top. Overall very underwhelmed Especially for the price - WAY overpriced.  Recommending - only come for the fish taco and come on a Tuesday!! read more

If you're looking for a brunch spot with a twist, El Corazon in Keswick is worth a visit. We don't often try new restaurants anymore, but their Mex-inspired brunch menu caught our attention this morning, so we decided to give it a shot. As long-time Phoenix residents, we've had our fair share of great Mexican food, so we were cautious. However, El Corazon exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is modern and stylish, yet warm and inviting. The service was excellent--our waitress was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was the highlight. My wife had the Carne Asada breakfast tacos, and I went with the breakfast burrito. Both were flavourful, with just the right amount of spice. Even the sides--the seasoned potatoes and fresh fruit--were thoughtfully prepared. We'll definitely be back, whether for dinner or drinks at their inviting bar. If you're in the neighbourhood and looking for something new, El Corazon is a solid choice for brunch or a casual evening out. read more

A solid Meh. The restaurant was less than half full and it took a solid 20 min to get drinks. Service sucked, although at least all the mains came out at the same time. The appetizers were good but very small and pricy for what you get. If I am ordering $24 pico and guac I would expect full chips to go with it, not half smashed into pieces that are too small to scoop with. The main tacos were a solid meh. Nothing I couldn't easily make better at home. The beef birra was tough and dry. The fried fish was under seasoned. I've had way better Mexican tacos for less. Won't be back. Just a solid meh. Our family of 8 reserved a seating for brunch at 11:00 on Sunday Nov. 9. There was only a table of 2 ahead of us and appeared to be having coffee. Our waitress was attentive and kept our water and coffee topped up. The orders were all served over an unreasonably long period of time and were cold and poorly plated when delivered. Cold Scrambled eggs were plopped on the plate with two dry pieces of toast - nothing else. No condiments, jam, peanut butter or ketchup. Ketchup had to be requested. Tuna on salad was good but as there was not enough arugula for 3 salads, it was replaced by romaine. Other member of our group had other concerns such as cold under cooked bacon, cold lacy eggs ordered easy over but served sunny side up. The others will submit their reviews. Thanks, but no thanks. Amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect but think great food, service, and ambiance. We sat outside because it was nice out, but they have a lovely decor on the inside as well. A great place to go when the weather isn't so cooperative. Lots of interesting options on the menu. We decided to try a couple of cocktails and some entrees to share. I decided on the Hennessey Paloma to drink and we split the spanish blacked basa, the ancho hot chicken, the pili pili prawns, the ahi tuna salad. For dessert we decided on the plantain sundae and the chocolate atole. So to be clear everything was delicious. However the standouts were the basa and the piri pir prawns. Perfectly cooked and flavourful. The Ancho Chicken was delicous as well and a hearty meat portion. The ahi salad tuna was light and balanced. Desserts weren't a stand out. Cocktail was. We arrived to find the place busy and there wasn't a table for 2 so we sat at the bar. We were going to a concert so we couldn't take our time for dinner and I appreciated the food arrived quickly to us. The bartender wasn't too busy and took our order promptly too. I ordered the Carne Asada Tacos with 2 corn tortillas filled with grilled flank steak ($19) When the food arrived the tacos looked a bit on the small side but they were filled with lots of steak which I would prefer instead of getting 3 tacos where I can barely see the meat. The tacos were flavourful and filling. They came chips which were a bit oily tasting. The music was great and reminded me of Zumba class! I enjoyed my meal and next time will make a reservation to have a table and try more delicious food! read more

I noticed El Corazon while driving by in very hot weather. It struck me that all the outdoor tables had an umbrella So I thought "we can have shade, no matter where we sit". We went the next day in the mid afternoon. There is 2 hour free parking just outside. We sat on the patio and every table had some shade. The service was informed and attentive, contributing to a lovely experience. We were aked if this was our first time and upon saying yes we were offered a tour of the menu which was very helpful. The beverage selection is large, I ordered a glass of reisling, it could have been colder, particularly because it was a very hot day. All the food we tried was very good. This included a Caesar salad, the basa ceviche, a stuffed plantain, and corn fritters concluding with a chocolate atole. I will definitely go back, there are many more things on the menu! read more

Came for a second time for my brother's birthday dinner. was open minded to see if their food had improved since my first visit. Unfortunately - still meh staff: our waitress was fantastic. We had a large group in their private/closed off room. She was friendly, spoke Spanish, was very fast. She did have other waiters/waitresses helping her with the large table! service: food came out very fast. Service was great - always refreshing drinks and clearing plates in a timely manner! establishment: still a cool, modern place, awesome playlist of Latin music. It's a bit loud - so almost gives you a night club vibe - he'd to speak over the loud music. But I felt like dancing the whole evening with great songs blaring the whole time. Maybe turn down the music if it's restaurant style - or maybe convert to a lounge/bar after 10pm to blare the music. food: meh. Sorry but disappointed again. Coming from a Latin person - the food just lacks homey flavour that Latin food is known for. The most flavourful thing I ate was their guacamole dip as a starter. This time I tried the aguachile- more traditional ceviche - but still lacks flavour - but better than their prawn ceviche. Tuna tostones - the fried plantain was too mushy and too green. The topping on the tostones was flavourful. The Cubano - filling and good size - but again bland. And the accompanying fried yuca - was not crispy enough - and could use some salt or seasoning. Our non Latin friends said the menus were too wordy and too much work to read through with too many options to choose from. So they literally would us us what each was. maybe simplify the menu. Beyond happy I finally got to eat here. I had booked reservations on a Tuesday for 7pm for my partners birthday. And for a Tuesday this place was pretty bumping. The weather was warm and the outside patio was packed. Inside the place is modern and super cool and trendy. I loved the atmosphere. We were greeted and seated promptly. No waiting. Our server was super nice and went into details the menus and his recommendations; several waiters stopped by to check in on us during our meal, it wasn't just one. The cocktails were fantastic. I highly recommend the vanilla margarita and the Castro cola. Approx $15 each for a two ounce. The food is great- we started with the Latin 5 spice wings ($18) so juicy and the garlic dip was tasty. For our main course I ordered the Pollo Asado ($28), the portions were generous, I added on the chim chim sauce ($2). My partner for his dish settled on the Spanish Blackened Bass ($27) huge piece of fish with a side of pick de gallo. We had guacamole (OK but whipped rather than chunky) and Mexican corn fritters. Mains carne tacos (steak) and Cubano traditional which was v good. Wow! I liked this place a lot more than I thought I would. I thought it might be a bit overrated, but I really enjoyed myself. I went with a group of people from my gym for a bit of a social gathering. They have really wonderful cocktails - their basil negroni was really amazing. I had the vegetarian tacos and I found them to be delicious! The atmosphere is really trendy and I was suprised by how busy it was. I guess this area is getting quite popular. There are a few new places in that space that I am looking forward to trying. They do have a patio! So, I'll be looking forward to enjoying that over the summer. Will definitely be back! read more

We made a reservation for a party of seven. A lovely rosé (complementary) was offered as we entered and waited for our party. The menu was refreshing, offering dishes you don't often see in the prairies, unless you're seeking them out, like Paella. We shared dishes among ourselves. Everything sampled was good. The Spanish blackened Basa was great! Enjoy an assortment of non-alcoholic cocktails and beverages (customized requests available) For the boozy- There are many unique cocktails. The bartender went out of his way to bring a sample of Bruichladdich Classic Laddie to our inquiring guest. We were on a timeline due to another tables booking. We were notified in advance about the timeline, no time for dessert. Without prompting our server presented each of our tables with complimentary churros to go. Everytime I have walked by this place, it has been bumpin with Latin music and seems high energy. Friday night on our way back from WEM, we decided to hit this place up. At entry, the music was pumping, and it was pretty busy for 9pm. We were greeted and seated right away. A lot of special occasions being held at this place. It had the feel of a Mexican lounge but also had a resort feel. Inside looked well decorated. Our server had a large party, so seemed like he was in a bit of a panic, but the service was decent. The 2 things that were a bummer was our appie came out after our main dishes and the server pulled the sauce away before I was finished my churro... lol The drinks were unique and pretty good if you are into sweeter drinks. The tacos were well stuffed with plenty of meat. I have never seen LAMB tacos so that was a treat. $19 for 2 tacos and side of chips. The mozzarella sticks were nothing to write home about, but the CHURROS!!!! WOWZA... freshly cooked, hot and tasty! The sauce that accompanied the churros was delish too. 10 outta 10 for the churros. We have been meaning to try this for some time. On a whim, we called ahead and asked if they could accommodate us without a reservation. They said absolutely. When we arrived, it wasn't super busy. They asked if we had a reso, and we said no. They sat us at a table as close to the entrance as you can get- and right next to two 'girls night out' groups who were quite loud. It wouldn't have bothered me if the restaurant was full- but there were so many empty tables in the interior area, and I feel like it may have been better ambiance than being stuck right by the entrance. Aaaaanyways, that aside- the menu is large. There is an expansive beverage menu. I opted for a Sangria and it was lovely. We ordered Tequeños as our appetizer, which is mozzarella wrapped in pastry... Lamb Barbacoa Tacos... and Blackened Chicken Tacos. The food was tasty, but they had forgotten our appetizer, so it didn't come out until after we had finished our mains. We finished it all off with the churros which were perfect. All in all, I might consider returning- but probably not with great effort. The experience could have been a little better. I'd probably call this more of a 3.5 star, in my books, so rounded up. read more

The deconstructed burrito bowl had great flavours from the pilaf to the vegetables and the dressed arugula. The plaintain chips were a great crunchy addition on the side. The flank steak was tender and had great flavour from the chimichurri on top. The yuca fries were delicious and a fun alternative to regular fries. The churros were amazing for dessert! It's more high end than other Mexican or Latino restaurants but the prices are reasonable and the food was exceptional. The fish tacos were some of the best I've had (and I've had a lot) so flaky and tender. My only issue was the tortillas themselves could be larger. All the stuff kept falling out and was a bit messy to eat. But otherwise delicious. I'll be bringing the hubby back for dinner. read more

When a group of friends wanted to get together and El Corazon was suggested, I thought great, see friends and try a place I've been wanting to go to. Staff are very friendly and the place has a dark, yet subtle vibe to it. Music was a bit loud, but I hear that's a thing now to have the "Background" music louder. Server was prompt, and attentive. Being with a group of folks, the typical server comes to the table several times while the group chats and doesn't figure out what we want to order. We finally order and our food is served up hot and fresh. I decided to go with the Blackened Chicken Tacos. The Tacos were good and the ingredients were fresh. Although for the price of the plate, and only 2 relatively small tacos and a scattering of 10-12 chips, not great value for money. Overall, Service was good, but when the server came to deliver the meals, they basically got every meal to person match wrong. There were 6 of us, so it shouldn't have been that difficult. The food, while very tasty and fresh, I'm disappointed that there wasn't a bit more for the price per plate. El Corazon is a very trendy place and a cool vibe. We tried 4 appetizers and a variety of tacos and a chicken dish. Of the 4 appetizer, the guacamole and tequenos were my fave. The 5 spice wings were super soggy and I probably should have said something as the menu refers to them as crispy. Flavor was good, just needed to be crisped. Tacos we tried were fish, carne asada, and the veggie ones. Fish ones were well loved as well as the carne asada. The star of the show for me was definitely the desserts. We ordered all 4 for our table and we all had different faves. So pick what you're in the mood for and you won't be disappointed. Free 2 hour parking in the lot or in the public parking garage. Checked out El Corazon for my birthday after having them on my list for so long. It was the perfect ambiance for a small group dinner! Wide selection of wines (but missing anything from Nova Scotia). Excellent level of sophistication, and most people rated their food at least 8/10. The tacos were a big hit. Our server was Angie and she was superb. I took my date out for dinner here about 3 months ago, I was very excited and proud to show my date this place and get her to try on some delicious Mexican food (I'm from Mexico City) The date was going so well, she was so happy with the environment, food and drinks then she decided to come to me and show me affection love and gratitude then she seat down in my lap and give me a couple kisses in my cheeks, so cute and appreciative of her! UNFORTUNATELY the restaurant manager found that action to be out of the restaurant policy so she asked her to get back to her chair immediately, as I see my date smile and joy fade away and turn it to a shame embarrassment and humiliation I asked for the bill immediately, then the manager tried to clear up some items from the table she accidentally knocked a salsa container off the table and splashed me all over, she didn't even offer or get some to help me with something to clean myself up, my wonderful evening turned in to the most humiliating and uncomfortable experience I had. I've been wanting to visit El Corazon for awhile after hearing glowing reviews from friends. I finally got my chance this weekend and overall it was a great experience, with some small hiccups that hopeful can be attributed to it being a new business. If I could give half stars, I would give El Corazon a 3.5 but since I can't, it has a lot of potential so I'm giving it a 4. The atmosphere at El Corazon is very trendy. The décor is cool and modern and I love how much natural light the windows let in. The only issue is that the tables move very easily. More than once during our meal, bumping the table made it slide across the floor. They also have a large patio that they've made as nice as possible considering how close it is to a busy road. I'd read a few reviews complaining about the noise level so I came in expecting it to be loud and it definitely was. The atmosphere almost feels much more like a bar than a restaurant with the pumping music forcing louder conversations. I didn't hate it but I can see why people would be disappointed if they weren't expecting it. When we sat down, we were offered a wine taster by our hostess which was a nice way to get started while we waited for our server. Their drink and food menus are both quite extensive. I started things off with the Mezcal Margarita. While I enjoyed it, the house-made strawberry chili syrup was a bit overpowering and masked the smoker mezcal more than I would have liked. We ended up sharing a number of items amongst our table from the appetizers and tapas lists. They have quite a few vegan and vegetarian options. The vegetarian options aren't clearly labeled so we missed them on a first glance. I got to try the classic guacamole, olive dip, tequeños, and frijoles queso canoa. I enjoyed everything but the frijoles were by far my favourite. The guacamole could use a bit more flavour. If it was up to me, I would have dried their mojito guac instead and I will definitely get that next time. Service was excellent and attentive until the end of the meal. After declining dessert, our server didn't offer the bill and disappeared for 25 minutes before we were able to ask for it. I also didn't appreciate that the tip options are 20, 25, and 30%. While it can be altered, it is pretty outrageous to expect a 30% tip in any situation and wasn't a great way to end the evening. All of that said, I will probably be back to El Corazon, but more likely for appetizers and drinks than for a full meal. read more

Edmonton has authentic Mexican and other Latin American restaurants. This is not one. It is new, and the staff is also very young and new too, so I was not expecting greatness, but the quality of food, drink, and service does not rise to match the elevated prices. The soup, tacos, and dessert I tried were fine. Nothing exceptional. The nachos were nice but not hot, not fresh from the oven. The muchy guacamole was soaked in lime juice so the avocado could not be tasted. The salsa was similar -- all citric acid, probably more lime or lemon. That makes me think the avocado and tomatoes were not in great shape. The margarita options are extensive and unique, but again they are expensive and average. The waitstaff is really nice and trying hard, but they have not been properly prepared. If any member of the waitstaff knows absolutely nothing about wine, including the wine on the wine list, or how to handle a bottle, that reflects poorly on the management. Expect decent $50 bottles for double the market price. read more

I had Lamb Barbacoa Tacos which were tasty but for two small tacos $18! I noticed the couple next to us had a bottle of San Pellegrino a few small appetizers and left. Early growing pains for a new restaurant but would definitely come back to see how things improve as the food choices were interesting and flavourful. Manager service was great and acknowledged food delay and appetizer quality without prompting (providing us with an automatic discount). Ordered bone in steak medium rare but it arrived well-done. Sent it back and came back very fast with a new steak still well-done. We decided not to pursue it further but pleasantly surprised to see this item discounted on our bill as well. Although not the perfect dining experience - the accountability of management here is nice to see and they really are trying to put in a good effort. Thanks! read more

I had a couple of their tacos yesterday at lunch, quite tasty .... a few corn chips thrown in on the plate were OK too. As for value, all I can say is that they were the world's smallest tacos and for $19 there should have been at least one more. A friend and I decided to check out El Corazon after all the buzz since they've opened. We were seated almost immediately by a group of friendly hostesses at the front. There were at least 5 of them (not sure why so many). We were brought to a table with modern banquette style seating. I really enjoyed looking at the decor of the restaurant and the details of light fixtures and various plants hanging. BUT after sitting there for 15 minutes with our menus, and seeing other tables that were seated after us being offered water and greetings, I got a little irritated. We actually didn't know who our server was. I decided to give it another 5 minutes and no one came. I finally walked back to the 5 hostesses at the front and explained that we still have not seen our server yet. One of them apologized and quickly offered me a sample glass of rose. Another one followed me to the table and gave a us 2 water glasses but with no water. I had to ask her to bring the water. We ordered the Prawn Ceviche, Chi Chi Fritas and the Ahi Tuna Beach Salad. The ceviche came on a plate with plantains and tortilla chips on the side. It was hard to dip the chips and pick up the ceviche without using a fork. It would have been much easier if the ceviche was served in a bow. The Fritas were meh and I was expecting panko breading as per the menu but that's not what we got. I thought the garlic dipping sauce would help with the taste but it was also disappointing. The Ahi Tuna Salad looked amazing and I was hoping it would save the whole experience but it didn't. The arugula was soggy and the whole salad was just absolutely underwhelming with little flavors. This place is leaves much to be desired. read more
