I thought long and hard about whether to write a review. I hardly ever write reviews unless I feel strongly compelled. I felt the need to share my experience at Sabita's today (06/15/2020) for two reasons: #1: I want Sabita and her business to succeed and grow. #2: It is important to learn from your customers on how to provide a better service and an overall excellent experience. First, let me start off by saying Sabita is a lovely woman who is kind, considerate, and very customer-centric. I appreciate Sabita making herself available on her personal phone to speak to customers and schedule appointments during this very scary and strange time. I called Sabita on Thursday (06/11/2020) to see if the shop was open and when I could come in. I called the shop based on the strength of Yelp reviews and convenience of location. I spoke to Sabita who kindly explained that calls are forwarded from her shop to her cell to schedule appointments. Yada....yada...yada....we eventually agreed upon today at 11:30 am. To her credit, Sabita did explain that she has a new employee and she herself will be available on Wednesday. I rolled the dice and gave the new employee a chance. I texted Sabita to let her know I am on my way and will be a few minutes late (bad traffic). I show up 3 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. A young woman walks in. I told the new employee I have an appointment at 11:30 AM. This young woman says she also has an appointment at 11:30 AM. So, we were double-booked?! I let the woman go ahead of me, but it felt she was lying just to get in the chair first. I texted Sabita just to confirm my appointment and also let her know what happened. Mind you....I am a new customer, so this was not a good first impression. After speaking to Sabita (she called me) privately outside for about 7 minutes, I proceeded to go back into the shop. I see two other women coming in to the shop around the same time. I politely let the first arrival know I had an appointment at 11:30 and was currently waiting. I get in the chair. I ask the new employee if she has a list of names of the people who made appointments (date, time, name, etc....you know....an appointment book). She appeared somewhat clueless about this. I tell her please make the eyebrows "natural looking, not thin, and even". One eyebrow is perfect and the other one looks like it is trying to hi-five the other on my face. Plus, the overly happy eyebrow has the tail missing. My brows literally look like punctuation marks. I wasn't aiming for Morse code on my face, but in all fairness, my eyebrows are not easy to do. It is just very disappointing to go out into the world and have people stare at your face wondering why the hell you look surprised all the time. Like Bill Burr says if feel you have a botched procedure, "There is no shirt for your face". I left the shop slightly pissed off and my whole mood was ruined. The brilliant cherry on top of this melting sundae: the cash register didn't have correct change so I had to leave a tip. I left this review hoping Sabita and her new employee do things differently moving forward. This review was not left with malice (although my face looks like I have a weird mix of disappointment, pleasant surprise, and resting bitch face all rolled into one..bravo for helping me discover a new emotion I didn't know existed). I left this review because I sincerely think Sabita and her employee provide a much needed service that would be an amazing business if certain things were done more professionally. I repeat for major emphasis here.....professionally. There is no point having appointments if people can stroll in whenever they want and can lie about their appointment time. You might as well have a sign out saying "First one with cash gets seen". It is rather inconsiderate to those who set aside time in their day to be seen for that time block. Granted, I was 3 minutes late fighting downtown Baltimore traffic. I would have gladly let anyone who had a appointment time near mine be seen first if that was the case. There was no way to know because there was no appointment book and no one bothered to check or ask to confirm their appointment times right in the shop. Also (and this is directed squarely at the new employee), please listen to your customers about their preferences for eyebrow shape. I am sure anyone who comes to the shop for service wants to leave feeling more confident and alluring. We as customers have to leave with the face on which you perform eyebrow threading. We see our faces every day so we have some insight on what makes us look good. Trust that we aren't trying to be difficult, weird, or super picky when we tell you what makes us feel best re: eyebrow shape. I know I just wrote an epic poem/saga and that in the grand scheme of things this isn't the worst thing in the world. I just think with all the great reviews that Sabita and her business can do and be better. read more

I've been getting my full face waxed/threaded since I was a teen and I can honestly say she's one of the best I've come across. Not only is she just the sweetest, but she's incredibly thorough and attentive to what she's doing. I can't believe that I've been in the area for so long and just found this place! Sabita is wonderful. She is very nice, considerate and fast. In addition to being a pleasure to be around, she is wonderful at threading. I have never had such a pleasant experience in 4 years of having my eyebrows threaded. Usually whenever I get my eyebrows threaded there are minor cuts which others have said was just a part of the process, but with Sabita I did not feel any discomfort at all and my eyebrows turned out phenomenal. Whenever I arrived as a first-time walk-in, she had another client in the chair. She was finished and seating me within about 5 minutes. Before getting started she asked about how I would like for my eyebrows to look and after getting started she was done in about 10 minutes. I have been getting my eyebrow's threaded for ~20 years now and she has been my favorite person to go to. She has a very gentle hand and shapes my eyebrows perfectly each time. The set up is excellent, she is a sweetheart! My brows were threaded well. However, I came from another lady who was well versed in threading (In pittsburgh) and so my standards were set pretty high, hence why I came to visit Sabita. My wedding is right around the corner, so I was very particular and wanted to keep them full since I had taken 6+ mo off without threadings. A bit more was taken off than I wanted (again, very particular), and one brow didn't feel as symmetrical, very very subtle but enough for me to notice. It did however clean up brows well & was tasteful all said & done. will def give her another chance because of all the excellent work i've seen her do. read more
