The stadium was great. It's located in the outskirts of Houston suburbs and close to the beginning of Pearland. I came to SaberCats Stadium to attend a tailgate party and the rugby game. I had so much fun during the game. It's a fully-packed entertainment. They did a great job on the audience participation. It was my first time watching rugby and I have been bragging about it. The most exciting part of the game was the post-game social. I got to mingle with the players and take photos. I didn't prepare anything for autographs this time. Perhaps next time. I met with the ticket salesperson Mike during the tailgate party. I told him how much I loved the game. He introduced me to buy season pass for next year. Yay, I'm definitely coming back on June 8. Oh a friend warned me about rugby game being dangerous. I told him, "yeah I almost got hit by the ball landing on my head. Twice." Hahaha.

For years we have discussed coming out to a game. I have never been to a rugby game before, and I am always down to support The H in whatever sport. No, I'm not from here, and no, I haven't always been exclusive to Houston sports. But since the retirement of the GOAT, I have brought 99% of my support over to Houston sports. I was NOT expecting the crowd. We have dedication. Not in the form of numbers, and tailgating. The stands were pretty packed. They had quite a few tables and pop-up tents selling stuff out on the side so there was a plethora of things you could get versus your standard concession fare. They also had liquor tables, and beer tables. Bread throughout. Lines were not that bad. $30 for second row seats midfield, not a bad deal. The view was great. It also helped that the weather was very kind that evening. Overall, a fantastic experience at a new place. It also helps that it's 5 minutes from my house. Parking is 15 bucks and a pretty big lot. As you might expect. There's quite the traffic jam to get out. I would suggest bringing chairs and hanging out for a bit after the game to let the traffic situation die down.

First time checking out a live rugby game, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! It's great to see MLR gaining traction, especially as it's still a relatively new league. Our stadium is on the smaller side though (4,000?). I was able to walk around fairly easily and explored various concessions and activities. It had a vibrant and energetic atmosphere and I really hope this sport continues to grow! The stadium is located on the outskirts almost on the way to Pearland. Reasonable ticket prices for such a close-up view (really no bad seats in the whole stadium), but the parking is a bit of a hassle at $15 and getting out at the same time can be bit of a bottleneck but also understandable given the size and location. Overall, it was fun family-friendly entertainment, I had a good time with a group of fellow yelpers. Definitely would come back.

I didn't find the beers too expensive in the East Club where my seats were for Tay Tay, but in the main seating areas they have crappy beers for more. I dunno. I got large Voodoo Ranger IPA cups for around $10 which is great for a stadium but that was in the private East Club . Parking at the stadium is a bit much, but I parked in a private lot across the street for $15 which isn't bad. It was more for football and other events. The sound was great and despite being up a level on the side, I had excellent views of the stage and had so much fun. The center is modern, clean, organized and has all the amenities. I came prepared with a clear bag but entry was still a breeze. In terms of food and drink, I was really impressed with the number of options. They have two full service food counters on either side of the arena. While I personally did not get anything, I saw people passing by with nachos and popcorn. If you want something a little more substantial Antones Poboys and Chick-fil-a were both set up for grab and go. They also had lots of alcoholic beverage options from tall boy beers, liquor for cocktails and even a spiked fresh lemonade stand. The arena has a fan shop onsite, some historical displays and a kid coloring zone. The game itself was well played (they won!) and executed from the announcer to the lights and entertainment. Great experience overall.

The stadium itself is about as fancy as they come. It honestly felt like something out of the movie Drumline. There is a massive amount of seating across multiple levels, plenty of concession stands, and parking options all around the venue. Parking is not free and can be expensive. I would recommend using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi if possible, since parking fills up quickly for events. During halftime, concession lines were long as expected, but they moved fairly fast. We had great seats and were able to see the fireworks clearly, which was a nice bonus. That said, the seating is fairly tight, so personal space can be limited. One important heads up is to be mindful of seat placement. The sun was beaming directly down on us, and it was extremely hot. Overall, visiting this stadium was an enjoyable experience, even for someone who does not care much for football.

I tend to forget about this venue as it is sandwiched between NRG Stadium and the Astrodome. NRG Arena is definitely old school (it was built in 1974). It actually reminds me of Burger Center in Austin which was also built in the 70s (IYKYK). The capacity is 8K, but it seemed smaller to me. Because it's an older venue, it doesn't have features such as illuminated stairs (like Toyota Center). People were using their cell phone flash lights to go up and down the stairs in the dark. The concourse area is a bit on the small side. The bathrooms weren't great but they weren't a complete disaster. On my last visit, I attended the World AIDS Day concert with Janet Jackson (she was amazing!). The staff was helpful with finding our seats as well as the merch table. We had a row of just 3 chairs which meant we had the entire row to ourselves (my best friend is brilliant lol). The sound quality was better than I was expecting, though at one point the volume of Janet's vocals seemed off. I didn't buy any food or drinks, but I imagine it's overpriced like any other venue. Tip: Check their socials for info on parking, bag policy, etc. Parking for the show was $20 (though it varies by event) and they do take cash and credit. The parking lot is right next to the arena so you don't have to walk terribly far. NRG Arena is okay. It's definitely not my favorite venue in the city, but it's good enough.
