World AIDS Day Janet Jackson concert
    Smith Family O.

Great event for AIDS awareness and information before the concert. Great performance by Janet Jackson if I must say. This was my first time ever coming to a concert here at the arena. Everything ran smoothly, clean, plenty of vendors, free stuff, friendly staff for the most part except for one staff member who didn't want to let us out to where we had parked our car in the VIP section. She wanted us to go out and walk around the building even though they were letting others out. Other staff members intervened in our favor and she walked us out. Other than that everything was good. We enjoyed the concert very much. Would recommend if thinking about coming here but I guess it depends on the staff working it.

It's a small arena. Event parking was $25. Only one concession open for the entire show so the line wrapped around half the arena. They need hawkers. Or more stands.

We went to our sons graduation class of 900 people. Since there were so many graduating classes from HISD it was confusing to know where to park for the handicapped. We kept asking and was directed to the correct place. The venue was of course delightful because when our son is graduating and it cannot be helped that tears come to mind. The acoustics were loud, however for the occasion it all wenquite well.

I saw Katt Williams and was also happy to see the opening acts. They were all funny. I always wanted to see Lunell live and she was there as well. I was surprised to see Mark Curry from hanging with Mr. Cooper. He was funny too. It was hosted by Red and he had a set as well he was real funny. The NRG Arena needs to step its game up though. The food options were horrific and small quantities. Self parking ‍ Metal Detectors Gut Wrenching Food

We attended a globetrotter show at the NRG arena and it was an amazing event. It was very well organized. Parking was paid upfront upon entering the lot and then there were guided lanes and turns on where to park. Once parked, we went to the ticketing booth area and found a line to enter the arena. We had pre game passes and were fortunate to skip the longer line and enter the arena from a "special entrance line". Once inside, the lobby area was packed with vendors trying to sell globetrotter merchandise, food items, drinks, sports memorabilia etc. We entered the actual court and saw some of the globetrotters taking pictures with fans, autograph signing and other challenges. I happened to snap a few pic with them. Once seated, it was just a matter of time. National anthem, player introduction and bam! showtime!!! It was a spectacular show and worth every minute. I remember growing up watching the globetrotters on TV and this was memorable. A great event hosted at the NRG arena.

Our section and Row. The row in front of us was completely cracked out and rolling blunts.

Worst venue to host anything! I went to the Katt Williams concert last night Sept. 30 to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with my husband just to get to an arena that could not take control of the crowd. It is a non smoking venue that had Marijuana being smoking all throughout and I witnessed people even rolling blunts in seats directly in front of me and then lighting it up. After complaining to the section guide in section 203 and then even speaking to Muanda the security supervisor absolutely nothing was done. Muanda is shorter than me, very timid looking with not of bite for this type of arena. Several guests left this night without even seeing the event due to it being transferred to a weed fest and drug show. Very disappointed and will not return to this unmanaged arena. One honorable mention is Shamicka who is extremely sympathetic employees who felt bad for our experience but her hands were tied due to an incompetent manager. Good luck if you ever step foot in the venue. Shut it down and call the authorities.

Spacious venue compared to others. Speakers are loud and full of bass. Although, this arena could use some renovation. The colors on the walls look faded and the floors look like a rundown cafeteria, but other than that I love seeing some of my favorite artists here at NRG!

Oh dear. This places needs to be torn down ASAP. I went here last night for the "So You Think You Can Dance" touring show. I had bought tickets on-line and had gotten what I thought would be good seats on the floor. We arrived and parking was ok, even though it was $10. Walking into the building brought me back to my childhood. The building is OLD. The entrances are small and I wonder if the place is a big fire hazard. Inside, nothing clearly marks the entrance to the floor seats, so we wandered around until we had to ask someone. The place is seriously run down and old looking. It wouldn't matter too much, but even the AC wasn't working well. Everyone around us was fanning themselves with their $25 souvenir programs all night. It was HOT inside, and it wasn't even at full capacity. In addition, the seating is old and uncomfortable. The permanent seats on the sides and hard plastic with no cushion. The seats on the floor are very close together but more comfy. My biggest problem with this place is that the stage is too low and you can't see anything from the floor seats. It was AWFUL. I don't know if that's a problem with the venue or the touring company, but it was wrong. Many people around us complained and left. Overall, the show was good, but the venue was a disappointment with AC problems, bad seating, and an overall run down feeling. It'll take a very special show to get me back in that building again.

In terms of food and drink, I was really impressed with the number of options. They have two full service food counters on either side of the arena. While I personally did not get anything, I saw people passing by with nachos and popcorn. If you want something a little more substantial Antones Poboys and Chick-fil-a were both set up for grab and go. They also had lots of alcoholic beverage options from tall boy beers, liquor for cocktails and even a spiked fresh lemonade stand. The arena has a fan shop onsite, some historical displays and a kid coloring zone. The game itself was well played (they won!) and executed from the announcer to the lights and entertainment. Great experience overall.

At the time of writing…read morethis review, they rank among the bottom five in terms of both regular season and postseason win percentage. However, the Texans are also the NFL's newest team. They joined the league in 2002. Most of the NFL's teams were established in the 1970s or earlier, though there was a small group that joined in the 90s: the Baltimore Ravens (1996), Jacksonville Jaguars (1995), and Carolina Panthers (1995). If you look at the league's four newest teams - Texans, Ravens, Jaguars, Panthers - only the Ravens have won a Super Bowl. Baltimore has won two, in fact: XXXV in 2001 (2000 season) and XLVII in 2013 (2012 season). The Panthers made it to two Super Bowls, but didn't win either of them: XXXVIII in 2004 (2003 season) and 50 in 2016 (2015 season). Both the Texans and Jaguars have zero Super Bowl appearances. They're two of only four teams to have never reached a Super Bowl. On average, the Texans have performed better than than the Jaguars with more division championships (AFC South) and playoff appearances. The Texans had decent success from the 2011 through 2019 seasons with six playoff appearances in nine seasons (67% appearance rate). This approximately decade-long stretch was primarily led by head coaches Gary Kubiak and Bill O'Brien. Kubiak would go on to win the aforementioned Super Bowl 50 as head coach of the Denver Broncos. I'm a fan of O'Brien because he was the offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech when I was a student at Georgia Tech. O'Brien worked at Georgia Tech from 1995 to 2002. Those were some great years for our football team. O'Brien is currently the OC and quarterbacks coach for Nick Saban at Alabama. JJ Watt, one of the greatest defensive linemen of all time, was drafted by the Texans with the 11th pick in the 2011 draft. Watt played for the Texans through the 2020 season -- 10 years a Texan. He racked up three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards (2012, 2014, 2015) while in Houston. Watt's three DPOY awards tie him with two other defensive greats, Aaron Donald and Lawrence Taylor, for most DPOY awards won. Watt left the Texans last year (2021) and now plays for the Arizona Cardinals. He was no doubt a big loss for the franchise and the Greater Houston community. Since Bill O'Brien, the Texans have had a fast-moving coaching carousel with four different head coaches in just the last three seasons: O'Brien and Romeo Crennel in 2020, David Culley in 2021, and now Lovie Smith in 2022.

I have been to rodeos prior in Fort Worth, but definitely on a much smaller scale. Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, albeit with some pre-planning as it was a bit difficult to navigate. When we initially arrived via Uber, we were dropped off at the rideshare drop off/pick up area, and it was a little walk to the stadium, where we were able to pretty quickly and seamlessly go through security and make our way into the grounds. Once inside, we did have some trouble navigating where/what we were going to since we are new to the event, but we were able to find our way to the livestock show after some trial and error. Once in the stadium, we immediately decided to grab some drinks before we found our seats. Unfortunately our experience was not the best, and when we ordered drinks we felt disregarded and the staff member helping us was rude and short with us. After we received our drinks, we were making our way to our seats and the $14 Mr Pibbs were completely flat, but we were anxious to go back after our experience with the staff. However, the staff who directed us to our seats were amazing! Not only were they super helpful, but after the concert they took photos for me and my best friend which was so kind and I will cherish forever, since we live states away from each other and rarely get photos together. The livestock show and rodeo was so fun and interactive, and we had the best time watching all of the events and hearing the commentary. The concert was also awesome, and the setup was perfect for all angles to enjoy seeing the act. We saw the Red Clay Strays and it was such an amazing experience. Afterwards, we made our way to the carnival just for some after concert snacks and to see the ambiance, and it was great! We grabbed some esquites and there was plentiful seating to people watch and enjoy the carnival energy. Afterwards however, we weren't able to order our Uber to the same drop off zone for some reason, so we were hesitant but had to order to a sushi restaurant a short walk nearby. It was definitely scary walking as two girls over there, and we did our best to stick around other rodeo-goers, but the shady taxi drivers and men carrying phones flashing their driver options were very insistent and invasive of us, heckling us with constant questions after we politely declined. One driver even circled us blasting music, and it was nerve-wracking since we aren't from Houston and are young women. I would hope that in the future these "drivers" can be deterred from the area or the rideshare zone can be better advertised or organized to prevent instances like these. Otherwise, we did make it out safely and in the future will be better prepared to get in and out of the rodeo!
