Part of the movie Rushmore was filmed in the parking lot! Of course Del Mar Field house is newer than the old semi circular one in the film.

Daikin Stadium To catch American baseball, at an American…read morestadium live was something at the back of my mind. Couldn't believe that I actually got to do it and Astros won the match that day, and THAT made all the difference. The erstwhile Minute Maid park was brought over by Daikin and Astros get to rule here. Watching on TV gives all the close ups, but the Texan pride songs, the motivation trumpets, the train horn when one hits a home run, that's just such a blast and have to be in person to experience it. ! It is an all natural grass field. Wonder how they maintain it. I thought it was a carpet until I was rectified. It is just soo neat and beautiful. While it is majorly a baseball stadium, during off seasons it is also used for soccer, rugby, or even concerts. The hallway is filled with pictures of legends and Baseball heroes. The floor shines like a new penny and everyone is soo very friendly and in the spirit of the game. Parking was a breeze since it was VIP entrance. But, there is a huge huge parking fitting all pockets, with some walking involved. There is a also a metro station about 15-20 min walk, for those who want to be spared the trouble of parking. Got entrance with the Gallagher club which was right next to the train (the train while hoots and moves at every home run) As soon as the wards outside check ur tickets and let you in, you walk right into a restaurant cum bar kind of a place. Except that all food, and most beverages are free, or, added onto the price of the ticket... The food bar was huge and a lot of them did not speak english, but that did not matter because those who could went out of their way to help me get only vegetarian. I stuck to salads and then loaded myself on desserts- oh the desserts ! I mean their bite size cakes, the mango pudding, cookies....and ice cream....it was just a party ! The game itself It was the first of the three matches of the Astros team. They played against Rookies. The friends' I went with explained the scoring and the rules and stuff, and pretty soon I was oohing and awwing and screaming while rooting for the home team. It was soo much fun !!! Not my first time in a stadium, but definitely my first time watching Astros, or even baseball for that matter in live action. Astros won and the stadium ruptured with screams. Ahhh...THAT ...that is what makes a live action sport all worth it. (U can book driverless cab WAYMO near the stadium The cherry on the top was I also saw my first electric driverless cab. It has a bigger board and runs in the downtown area of Houston for now. As I watched the passengers get into the car, my heart was beating fast with anxiety. THough I am aware that it is where the future is heading, a car with no driver- still gives me the chills ! .....Lol ) A great night overall. Perfect blast of a getaway with friends.

The climate control alone is a huge win, and the retractable roof adds flexibility depending on the weather. The views from just about anywhere in the park are great, and the overall atmosphere is exciting whether you're a die-hard fan or just there for the experience. One of the coolest features is the iconic train in left field--it's a fun touch that gives the stadium its own personality. Amenities are solid across the board. There's a massive jumbotron, plenty of food options (the brisket nachos are a must-try), and the facilities are well-maintained and clean. Parking can be a bit tricky and pricey right near the stadium, so it's worth parking a few blocks away to save some money and enjoy a short walk in. The only downside is the cost of food and drinks - they're definitely on the expensive side and concession lines can get long during peak times. Overall: A fantastic ballpark with great comfort and unique features. Just plan ahead for parking and be ready to spend a little extra on snacks!

One of the best stadiums in MLS, I'd argue, and the weather here is always wonderful. It's also perfectly located in a sadly gentrified neighbourhood, right next to downtown Houston in EaDo, and really adds to its surroundings, and is nothing short of beautiful inside and out. Would not be out of place as a European Stadium, and is truly magnificent. My other review of this stadium said: Not to be confused with BDSM Stadium, which is something very different, more adult, more painful, more restrictive, for the sub anway. Moving on. Houston has a pretty amazing soccer stadium just to the east of downtown and it's beautiful and perfect for what it does, one of the better ones I've been to. I'd downgrade for the insane cost of everything (a beer is 10 to 20 dollars, yes I'm serious), but then every stadium is like that these days... they should GTFO really. But for the stadium itself.... wow. It's a shame they didn't have the stadium during the days when they were winning everything, this would have been perfect for that, but hopefully one day they will be winning everything again with this great stadium, that is like the Reliant Stadium/NRG Stadium of soccer.. it's amazing. As for the team, it's home to the Houston Dynamo. Not to be confused with a murder plot against an orange-white Clownfish in America's 4th largest city (Houston Die-Nemo). Houston is one of the classic teams in the league, even though they secretly stole San Jose away from San Jose, and changed the Earthquake name to Dynamo, to reflect the industrial energy nature of the Houston economy. I'm a fan of a team and I think they do a good job, and are a main fixture in the sports scene of the city, which isn't really much of a sports city to be honest, and none of the Rockets/Astros/Texans get an immense amount of love compared to other regions, and the Dynamo holds its own to some degree. It had some great success in the past and long may that continue. They need to get back on the wagon and be a top team, and I hope they can get the support they deserve to go with their amazing stadium close to downtown. And yeah this stadium gets hot AF in summer, but it's all good.

They had unlimited toppings of your choice, as well as all the Salsa's you could think of. Salad as well.

Some parts of the game were a little confusing, but that's what made it better. You have to rely on team strategy, communication, and logic to get through each round. Otherwise, you're not making it far. For a Sunday, it wasn't crowded at all. The check-in process was very straightforward. Our game started about 30 minutes late because we were waiting for someone in our party, but the host was super gracious and still gave us the full time since no one was scheduled after us. I was confused at first why drinks were even offered, but by round three it got warm, and I absolutely saw the need to hydrate. I loved that they had a tripod so you could record your own footage, and the boomerang they take of your group at the end was a nice touch. One tech hiccup though happened when some of the headbands weren't picking up my friends' movements. The host explained afterwards that it was likely because of their hair. Something to keep in mind for my big hair girlies... Definitely more fun than I expected. Would go back for a date, group hang, or team-building session. Good for all ages.
