Part of the movie Rushmore was filmed in the parking lot! Of course Del Mar Field house is newer than the old semi circular one in the film.

It was also Orbit's birthday, and the giveaway (an Orbit jersey) was gone within 30 minutes. We missed out. Parking is back to being reasonable. I remember when it was $50 after they won the World Series. We park a few blocks down (a whopping 90 cents per hour) and get a few extra steps in. I will say the best thing that's happened is them allowing you to bring your own food and water bottle. Check the bag requirements and restrictions, but it really helps cut ballpark prices for families. We brought CFA in with us, as well as a variety of snacks. Though pricy, El Tiempo Cantina margs are amazing - as always. Go Stros!

My first impression was total sensory overload in the best possible way. Everywhere you look, there's Astros gear, vendors, and fans proudly decked out in orange and navy. The massive team store alone could keep you occupied for hours. With seating for more than 40,000 fans, the sheer size of the crowd was impressive. As an added bonus, the first 10,000 ticket holders received a free Carlos Correa bobblehead. This visit was part of a girls' weekend packed with fun, including an Astros game and even a bodybuilding competition. It made for a memorable mix of adventures. Food options go far beyond traditional ballpark fare like hot dogs and nachos. Fans can enjoy favorites such as Whataburger, Chick-fil-A, Pluckers, and Blue Bell Ice Cream from nearby Brenham, Texas. It also happened to be Barbie Day, and the Upper Concourse bar got into the spirit with themed drink specials. The Astros faced the Cleveland Guardians, and although the Guardians came away with the win, the game itself was only part of the total experience. Between the electric atmosphere, enthusiastic fans, and nonstop entertainment, Daikin Park delivered a fun and memorable day at the ballpark for our girls trip.

One of the best stadiums in MLS, I'd argue, and the weather here is always wonderful. It's also perfectly located in a sadly gentrified neighbourhood, right next to downtown Houston in EaDo, and really adds to its surroundings, and is nothing short of beautiful inside and out. Would not be out of place as a European Stadium, and is truly magnificent. My other review of this stadium said: Not to be confused with BDSM Stadium, which is something very different, more adult, more painful, more restrictive, for the sub anway. Moving on. Houston has a pretty amazing soccer stadium just to the east of downtown and it's beautiful and perfect for what it does, one of the better ones I've been to. I'd downgrade for the insane cost of everything (a beer is 10 to 20 dollars, yes I'm serious), but then every stadium is like that these days... they should GTFO really. But for the stadium itself.... wow. It's a shame they didn't have the stadium during the days when they were winning everything, this would have been perfect for that, but hopefully one day they will be winning everything again with this great stadium, that is like the Reliant Stadium/NRG Stadium of soccer.. it's amazing. As for the team, it's home to the Houston Dynamo. Not to be confused with a murder plot against an orange-white Clownfish in America's 4th largest city (Houston Die-Nemo). Houston is one of the classic teams in the league, even though they secretly stole San Jose away from San Jose, and changed the Earthquake name to Dynamo, to reflect the industrial energy nature of the Houston economy. I'm a fan of a team and I think they do a good job, and are a main fixture in the sports scene of the city, which isn't really much of a sports city to be honest, and none of the Rockets/Astros/Texans get an immense amount of love compared to other regions, and the Dynamo holds its own to some degree. It had some great success in the past and long may that continue. They need to get back on the wagon and be a top team, and I hope they can get the support they deserve to go with their amazing stadium close to downtown. And yeah this stadium gets hot AF in summer, but it's all good.

It was super fun, and clean. You even have your own private outdoor seating. Suite Details*** Suite #19 felt like one of the prefect suite locations, right on center field. If you like having equal sightings, like me. If you're more of a goal zone type, suite 19, maybe it's a tad bit closer to the goal on our right. Indoor Bar table facing field, sit 4. Center bar table sit 2. Entery table sit 2 Sink, mini bar. Trash it's hidden, in a compactor drawer, for extra spacing, &clearly out the way. Employer's check in on guest needs. It's private access to enter the suite door, unless some open the door to invite you in. Our choice of eats for catering, was the nachos. The nachos was very delicious. They had unlimited toppings of your choice, as well as all the Salsa's you could think of. Salad as well.

They've expanded and have more seating space (parties) and have "breakout rooms" with different games. One of them had Dance Dance Revolution (for 2) which was nice. Made it more private. They also now offer beer (they only used to offer cider) which is a huge plus. The service was also great. The bartenders were friendly. I'll definitely be going again. Quick Tip: download the app. They give free admission for newbies and you can play games (on the app) to get puzzle pieces for free drinks/passes.

I've been there with a group of adults and also with a group of kids, and just note that while it's totally fine (and very fun!) for kids, it's probably better for adults--there's no kid security check-in at the front, and the building is very big, with lots of games. We ordered a pizza from a touchscreen by a food window, and the pizza was actually pretty good, much better than I was expecting at an arcade. The downside was that, in the lunch rush, it took 30-40 minutes for that one pizza to come out, though you could tell they were individually making each item in the big pizza oven. If you want drinks, you separately order those at the front, near where you check in, which is a little odd to have two separate food/drink ordering spots. When we walked in, we paid for a wristband, which gave "free" access to all of the arcade games, except for the claw machines, which required you to buy an extra card.

Some parts of the game were a little confusing, but that's what made it better. You have to rely on team strategy, communication, and logic to get through each round. Otherwise, you're not making it far. For a Sunday, it wasn't crowded at all. The check-in process was very straightforward. Our game started about 30 minutes late because we were waiting for someone in our party, but the host was super gracious and still gave us the full time since no one was scheduled after us. I was confused at first why drinks were even offered, but by round three it got warm, and I absolutely saw the need to hydrate. I loved that they had a tripod so you could record your own footage, and the boomerang they take of your group at the end was a nice touch. One tech hiccup though happened when some of the headbands weren't picking up my friends' movements. The host explained afterwards that it was likely because of their hair. Something to keep in mind for my big hair girlies... Definitely more fun than I expected. Would go back for a date, group hang, or team-building session. Good for all ages.
