I've only been to this stadium once for Taylor Swifts Era's Tour in 2023 and now recently in 2025…read morefor a football game but I liked it. It was weird having the roof closed for the concert. I didn't find the beers too expensive in the East Club where my seats were for Tay Tay, but in the main seating areas they have crappy beers for more. I dunno. I got large Voodoo Ranger IPA cups for around $10 which is great for a stadium but that was in the private East Club . Parking at the stadium is a bit much, but I parked in a private lot across the street for $15 which isn't bad. It was more for football and other events. The sound was great and despite being up a level on the side, I had excellent views of the stage and had so much fun. Only bad part of the experience was taking over 1 hour to get out of the parking lot (despite the exit being less than 50 feet from where I parked).

When we got in, everyone went their way to get food! That's really what we went for, THE FOOD! We danced, we laughed and we danced again! The rides were lit and the people had on their outfits!! If you have never attended Houston Rodeo, you should experience it at least once! Cowboys and cowgirls doing country activities, the concerts, the rides. Don't miss out!

I tend to forget about this venue as it is sandwiched between NRG Stadium and the Astrodome. NRG Arena is definitely old school (it was built in 1974). It actually reminds me of Burger Center in Austin which was also built in the 70s (IYKYK). The capacity is 8K, but it seemed smaller to me. Because it's an older venue, it doesn't have features such as illuminated stairs (like Toyota Center). People were using their cell phone flash lights to go up and down the stairs in the dark. The concourse area is a bit on the small side. The bathrooms weren't great but they weren't a complete disaster. On my last visit, I attended the World AIDS Day concert with Janet Jackson (she was amazing!). The staff was helpful with finding our seats as well as the merch table. We had a row of just 3 chairs which meant we had the entire row to ourselves (my best friend is brilliant lol). The sound quality was better than I was expecting, though at one point the volume of Janet's vocals seemed off. I didn't buy any food or drinks, but I imagine it's overpriced like any other venue. Tip: Check their socials for info on parking, bag policy, etc. Parking for the show was $20 (though it varies by event) and they do take cash and credit. The parking lot is right next to the arena so you don't have to walk terribly far. NRG Arena is okay. It's definitely not my favorite venue in the city, but it's good enough.

Small venue - not what we expected. Not a lot of food stands. Really BAD sound quality. I know a…read morelot of people who are going for Ivan Cornejo and I'm just hoping they fix the sound before that show. You'd rather be in the stands than the floor. Very outdated.

The gameday experience is awesome, and the tailgating is even better. There are a ton of freebies to be had on gameday. One of my favorite tailgating experiences is the Texas Star Grill. Free bbq and beer, you can't go wrong with that! Do tailgate in the blue lot. Most seats in NRG are pretty good. Hey, season ticket holders, stop selling all your seats to the opposing team's fans! We got to support our team! Sorry, I had to get that in there after seeing the Denver Broncos come to town recently. Stadium concessions have been upgraded recently with the arrival of Trill Burgers and Killens BBQ. I love the Crown Royal Bar on the 600 level! DJ spinning tunes during pregame and halftime! Overall The Texans experience is great! Will always make it out when possible!

Among the NFL's current 32 teams, the Houston Texans are one of the worst. At the time of writing…read morethis review, they rank among the bottom five in terms of both regular season and postseason win percentage. However, the Texans are also the NFL's newest team. They joined the league in 2002. Most of the NFL's teams were established in the 1970s or earlier, though there was a small group that joined in the 90s: the Baltimore Ravens (1996), Jacksonville Jaguars (1995), and Carolina Panthers (1995). If you look at the league's four newest teams - Texans, Ravens, Jaguars, Panthers - only the Ravens have won a Super Bowl. Baltimore has won two, in fact: XXXV in 2001 (2000 season) and XLVII in 2013 (2012 season). The Panthers made it to two Super Bowls, but didn't win either of them: XXXVIII in 2004 (2003 season) and 50 in 2016 (2015 season). Both the Texans and Jaguars have zero Super Bowl appearances. They're two of only four teams to have never reached a Super Bowl. On average, the Texans have performed better than than the Jaguars with more division championships (AFC South) and playoff appearances. The Texans had decent success from the 2011 through 2019 seasons with six playoff appearances in nine seasons (67% appearance rate). This approximately decade-long stretch was primarily led by head coaches Gary Kubiak and Bill O'Brien. Kubiak would go on to win the aforementioned Super Bowl 50 as head coach of the Denver Broncos. I'm a fan of O'Brien because he was the offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech when I was a student at Georgia Tech. O'Brien worked at Georgia Tech from 1995 to 2002. Those were some great years for our football team. O'Brien is currently the OC and quarterbacks coach for Nick Saban at Alabama. JJ Watt, one of the greatest defensive linemen of all time, was drafted by the Texans with the 11th pick in the 2011 draft. Watt played for the Texans through the 2020 season -- 10 years a Texan. He racked up three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards (2012, 2014, 2015) while in Houston. Watt's three DPOY awards tie him with two other defensive greats, Aaron Donald and Lawrence Taylor, for most DPOY awards won. Watt left the Texans last year (2021) and now plays for the Arizona Cardinals. He was no doubt a big loss for the franchise and the Greater Houston community. Since Bill O'Brien, the Texans have had a fast-moving coaching carousel with four different head coaches in just the last three seasons: O'Brien and Romeo Crennel in 2020, David Culley in 2021, and now Lovie Smith in 2022.

That is until recently when a group of friends and I wanted to do something out of our norm and check out something new to all of us. Introducing the Houston Sabercats, Houston's major league rugby team. The stadium is located right off 288 south of the loop, and right before entering entering into Pearland city limits. I drive by and see the signs daily coming and going from work, but never saw the stadium up close. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting a crowd but was totally surprised driving up and seeing a packed lot with people tailgating. Let me tell you, the fan base was very diverse from young and old and they supported their team proudly. Excitement was in the air which pumped me up as well. Ticket prices were reasonable considering there really isn't a bad seat in the house. There's all kinds of stuff happening in and around the stadium. They have different vendors selling merch, food, and drinks. Platypus Brewing had their own set up right when you walk in, but they also had little tents popped up around selling different food and drinks. There was also another area selling liquor. Merch was pretty spendy, but people were buying them up. The game itself was very fun to watch. I still have alot to learn as far as the rules goes. I would compare it to football, but alot tougher as these guys are going at it with little to no padding. Rugby is something I think I can get behind and I will for sure be back to check it out again.
