Cedric Walker, the Founder provides an incredible free experience for homeless families in each city toured, as well as countless draw dropping performances. I visited the Trae the Truth Day in Houston, TX in 2024 at Butler Stadium. They are performing this weekend 2025 in Houston June 6-8 at Butler Stadium. Zeke, one of the circus ringmasters gets the audience involved with songs, the wave, bringing audience members to the center stage etc. Families of all ages love this absolutely astounding circus that keeps getting better year after year. We had an awesome time at the circus. Everything was so well done. The acts were first class. I loved the traditional and non-traditional way of doing a circus. My grandkids had a ball. People of all ages will enjoy this show, that's what makes it so great! During covid, they are doing the show outdoors in an open air setting and all of the seating is 6ft apart. Plus they enforce masks and have 50% capacity! Our group felt totally safe and comfortable. Sure there aren't as many animals as other circuses, but this is unique because it's more than a circus, it's a cultural experience. They really highlight and honor those of African decent around the world. Music, dancing, tricks, animals, they've got it all. It is certainly worth the trip! I loved it as much as an adult as I did years ago as a child. Seating tip: Most of the acts face directly in front/across from the entrance so I don't recommend sitting on the sides nearest to where the acts enter. read more

Great show. Prices are a bit on the high side in the concessions area. The entire time while the show is on there are some ppl walking around selling things like cotton candy, light sticks, and drinks, also popcorn. My boys seemed pleased with the show. My hubby and I enjoyed it. I'm glad we all were able to experience it! read more

We had a great time at this circus, however because I have a 3 year old here are my joys and woes. Plus Super small event, so when we arrived to get tickets on the last day all the good seats were sold out and I wasn't happy, so all that was left were cheap tickets. For 2 adults and a child it was $75.00 but when we walked in I thanked Jesus the good seats were sold out because the venue is so small that every seat is a great seat. So if you attend this next year go as cheap as possible and you will feel like you are in the front row. Super interactive-They constantly involved the audience and it felt like a non stop party, think Mardi Gras meets Carnival. Food/Merchandise-Really affordable compared to Ringling bros, everything was between $4-7.00 for food and drinks and toys were ranged up too $15.00 Deltas Soooooooo cold, they had jumbo fans under the seats and my poor baby was shivering within an hour, I had to tuck her hands and feet in my clothes so she could watch the show. Animals-They only had Zebras, Elephants, and a tigers...What's circus without Lions? My daughter was not happy. Intermission-So what I thought was cool is that they let the kids from the audience ride the elephants during the intermission on the center stage. Immediately the line was so long and of course me knowing it was intermission I told my daughter by the time we got down there the show would be starting because most intermissions are no more than 20-30min at the most. Soooooo 50 min later kids were still riding the elephants!!! They charged $15.00 for a ride and was determined to let all the kids ride so they could get as much money as possible. For my 3 year old 50 min is an eternity and was way tooooo long. Port a pottys-Say no more Entertainment-Although it was fun and interactive most kids under the age of 10 don't really understand a soul train line or know who Frankie Beverly and Maze is. All in all it was fun and entertaining but I will continue to take my kids to Ringling Bros until they get a little older and can appreciate Universoul, this is a great event for Pre-teens and older. read more

The absolute BEST circus. Like the ringmaster stated, "We do not have spectators. We have PARTICIPANTS!" You feel like you are a part of the show. They will get the crowd involved. All of the acts were breathtaking. Not one was boring or could have been left out. Even my 63 year old mother was dancing and having a great time. Everyone should visit this circus at least once. Young and old, anyone will enjoy this show. Make sure to buy your tickets ahead. The event is a small, intimate show. read more

I've been going to the Universoul Circus since I've moved to Houston. Every time I've gone, I had the time of my life. They always add new acts to keep it fresh and new. It's always a great idea to go whether you're looking for a date night or somewhere to take the family. I love how they incorporate animals into the acts and how well they work with each other. My favorite act however, would be the high fling motorbike stunts, especially because they came in as a surprise towards the end. They have mini acts to entertain you while the performers are setting up so you'll never just be sitting there waiting. They dancers and clowns will interact with the crowd and maintain the high energy of the event with dance competitions and impromptu karaoke with the guests. If you want keepsakes from the day, there are photographers walking around who will take professional pictures of you and your group and also workers who are selling other items to commemorate your day there (Bring cash if you want to purchase from them). Parking is plentiful because they have it at the Sam Houston Raceway. The grounds were very well maintained considering it was an outdoor event. read more

If you are able to, GO TO THIS SHOW! We were lucky to get free tickets because they offered them to foster families, but would have easily paid for it, it's SO totally worth it. When we arrived, I had small expectations. It's a small venue, under a real circus tent. (Which was pretty cool actually) But, my goodness, the small venue made it better than I could have ever imagined. You are up close to all of the action, no matter where you sit. The circus master was hilarious, and very entertaining. The entertainers were beyond talented. We were astounded! I don't know how many times my jaw dropped in amazement. It's the only African American owned circus in the whole world. It was full of soul and talent. I can not even type into words how great this show was, it's better than any "show" type event I have been to.... and that includes Texans games! Haha! (They had some food and drinks etc there to purchase, light up stuff to buy the kids, and it was well ventilated, even in mid June in Houston, we didn't get hot. ) read more
