It was raining and able to navigate to the theater without getting wet. The venue itself is beautiful, modern, clean, and well-organized. We were able to enter quickly and our tickets were scanned with no wait. From the moment we entered, everything feels organized and easy to navigate, with helpful staff throughout the theater. Our seats were in the Mezzanine section and the view of the stage was partially obstructed by the back of people's heads sitting in front of me, but still had a decent view. The acoustics were excellent and the show was a fun, high-energy experience. Restroom lines during intermission were extremely long but seemed to move quickly. They had a variety of drinks available but I didn't purchase any. The overall experience felt seamless from start to finish. Except for the parking. After the show, was stuck in the parking garage over an hour trying to exit. However, the Hobby Center is a great venue for watching a show. Would absolutely come back to watch another show!

Not too big of a theatre or stage so it feels like a much more intimate experience. The valet service parking is always so convenient but it does get full pretty quickly !

It's a miracle that they're still able to provide high quality, free entertainment in this day and age. The booking process is a bit random - for extremely popular shows, there's a lottery, but otherwise you refresh during the ticket drop and get into a queue and can pick up to four tickets in the covered seating area (which also has huge ceiling fans. Huge plus.) or just hang out on the hill. Digital tickets are a huge upgrade where you don't have to wait at will call anymore. Seating is fantastic - plenty of walking space, seats have cupholders, and pretty much every seat has a clear view of the stage at a different angle for adults of all heights. There is difficulty in seeing ground level acts like the contortionist. (The interpretation of Da Vinci was phenomenal though, you can imagine). I always try to make it to at least one Cirque show every year and it's always a blast. Cheers to what they do here.

I have been to the Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park twice. About a decade or so apart. Both…read moreexperiences have been awesome at this unique event. To start things off, I will say that I have a deep appreciation for the arts. I've been to many museums of fine arts and museums of modern art in one day. This is one way to show appreciation to local and less well known artists who are quite talented. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. with my former boss. He found out that parking is far enough from the festival that they have a shuttle to take you there. We opted to Uber instead. Tickets are $20 per person for adults if you pay cash (and a few dollars extra if you pay by card). From there, there are 100, if not more, artists who have booths set up. They are there selling their art, and you'll see a great variety of different styles and painting techniques. Beyond painting, you'll also see sculptures, photography, furniture, and various knick-knacks. The price range can be anywhere from thousands of dollars to quite affordable. Many of the artists are quite friendly and will tell their stories to you. Once you need a break from the art, there's a good variety of food trucks and food stands to choose from. BBQ, Mexican, Indian, pizza, popular food trucks like The Waffle Bus, and more. I had a brisket quesadilla from the BBQ spot. There are also many beverage options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to quench your thirst. I had a cherry limeade. We spent about 2.5 hours at the festival and I didn't go home empty-handed. I found an artists who does drawings of famous Houston landmarks, restaurants and bars. He was selling three drawings for $50 and I had my choice from 40-50 or so different options. I went with the Houston Rodeo, River Oaks Theatre, and Buc-ee's. I love the opportunity to support local. Bayou City Art Festival takes place over multiple days. Whether you're in the market to buy some art, or you'd just like to appreciate the talent of a collective group of artists, you'll have a great time either way.

I was a little worried that when I would come out my car may have gotten towed but I was very happy that it was still there when I came out as I wasn't sure if I could park where I did. But back to Classic Theatre Company (abbreviated as CTC henceforth). Last night I went to go see the CTC production of A Doll's House. When I was a junior thespian in high school, I remember reading A Doll's House in my theater arts class. It had made such a positive impact on me that I couldn't wait to go see this production. The lead character was Nora (Torvald's wife) and she was played by a young upcoming actress who literally captivated you the entirety of the play. Although the stage was what you would expect from a small community theater, the way it was produced as well as the acting, I was lost in the play the whole time I was there. Upon entrance the counter is directly in front of you, so there is no way that you can miss the ticket booth. We had purchased our tickets online. There is a discount for students and educators as well as senior citizens and those who are in the theatre industry. The stage is akin to a box theater where you are close to the stage. The only negative I would say was the smell of feet which was due to the fact that the lady behind me took her shoes off. P.U. You shameless heathen. During the intermission you can get concessions like any proper theater. They allow you take those inside. By the end of the second act the house started smelling like a bottle of wine had broken. Everyone left very happy. In my opinion this is a great place to bring your friends, dates, parents, everyone! There is boundless talent here from what I saw last night and I cannot wait to come back. P.S. CTC is in the Chelsea Market so parking is an obvious. Just don't park in areas that specifically reserve the spots for other shops or you will get TOWED!

I was surprised at the turn out this place has, I attended both plays within the "Quintero/Black BOx" theater, and the people that attend are from all walks of life. The actors and the setup is so great they really have talented actors from what I can tell. The 2 plays were "At Home At The Zoo" and "Buy 1 get 5 Free". The first one was more of comical drama about married life... the play itself was interesting and the audience is really attentive and respectful. The second one WAS HILARIOUS, I definitely would not mind seeing this even if it wasn't a requirement for my class. The layout and the ticket office is really professional. The plays are in a brand new building with great lighting. Had me saying "IS THIS REALLY IN UH?" then my thoughts turned to..."OHHH...THIS IS WHERE MY TUITION GOES" lol. All in All it was a great experience and the staff are very kind and helpful. It's a little confusing now due to construction. Soon a park area will open and there will be direct access to the front of the theater. Seating is roomy and comfortable.
