Great place to get sushi in Boone and it's right on king street!! They have great prices for their sushi and awesome wontons!! It's small restaurant but has a great staff and even better sushi!! Very unimpressed with this place. Ordered take out and was given my food but it was incomplete with half my order not included, thankfully I noticed 10 mins down the road and called back and was able to turn around and get it. I understand mistakes happen but what aggravated me was that they revealed on the phone when I called that they were aware of the mistake and had my number but didn't bother calling me to let me know. Just tried this place for the first time. They just opened a few weeks ago so they definitely don't have certain things worked out yet. It's very small inside so there aren't many tables. It took us over an hour to sit down and get our food. I ordered the crab rangoons and they were really pretty good. I ordered the Dry pork noodles and it was decent but all of the pork in my bowl was extremely fatty to the point I had to pick most of it out. I feel like I would definitely try this place again but maybe make different food choices. And hopefully they'll get a bit more organized. read more

Seriously, the best college friendly budget restaurant in Boone by far!!! Everything and I mean everything is out of this world! I LOVE the country spicy pork curry entree and this is the only place you can find it!! They also have amazing drunken noodles, curry, pad see ew, soups, and sushi. Basically if you name it it's good. It is a very small place so on the weekends there typically is a wait but trust me it's worth it. The only place I honestly eat out in Boone! What a great place! I hope it breaks the curse of this store front! We had a great lunch! My friend had the beef pho- really good broth and plenty of it! Nicely cooked beef (note that it's not the rare cook, but that was not how it was presented on the menu). I had the Angry Tuna sushi roll, and it was amazing! Really good tuna, not too spicy, some crunch- just lovely! Here's a warning though, the roll (and this may or may not be true of other special rolls) was half the size that I'm used to being served for 8 or 9 dollars. The pork rice soup was really good- a little bit of the least spicy sauce in it and a dab of Hoisin sauce on the pork- mmmm! The pork tasted like it was roasted before putting it into the soup. Some skin on it and a bit of fat, but not much and easily picked out. It would be a treat for some of my friends! Next time I'm going to try the dry pork noodles! read more

We love Sabeing and appreciate their precautions during Covid. It's the perfect menu for a carry out style picnic while the dining room is closed. The items we get with every order are Drunken Noodle with Chicken and Crispy Rolls. We also love the Kow Soi with Tofu, Kow Man Kai with crispy Chicken, the Fresh Roll Appetizer, and the Tomkha Soup is my absolute favorite. Plenty of delicious sushi and vegan options, too. We've tried almost everything on the menu and had a fantastic experience every time. Consistently friendly and helpful service and fresh, well made food makes Sabeing a favorite for our family. We've been there many times in the past year, and have had wonderful food experiences. But yesterday has really affected our feelings about Sabeing. I am gluten free, because of a very intense allergy, and have trusted their menu items that are designated as (G) for gluten free. Last night I ordered something labeled (G), something I had ordered once before and it had come with rice noodles and was fine. This time it came with a different noodle, and when I asked the server about it she said they were gluten free noodles. I ate it, went home, and was already not feeling well. I Googled the noodles in question and they're not gluten free. They are a wheat noodle. When I called Sabeing to bring this to their attention, and let them know that this mistake was going to make me very sick, the person I spoke to said the owner marked that menu item (G) because the sauce is gluten free, and they offered to refund my meal. First, refunding my meal doesn't make up for the two-three days of feeling terrible, not sleeping well, and struggling to work that I have to experience now. Second, when a menu item is marked as free of an allergen, then people with food allergies expect that it's totally free of that allergen. If you mark a menu item as gluten free when only one ingredient is gluten free, you're misleading people with allergies and food concerns, and some of those people could become violently ill. This didn't seem to faze them when I mentioned this on the phone. I love their food, but the total disregard for people's health and safety, and the obvious lack of knowledge about how to handle those issues, is going to make it hard for me to go back. read more

Went to Sabeing last night for the second time. I really like the BYOB thing obviously bc that's just amazing. And the food is pretty decent. The sushi is kinda bad but the drunken noodles are great. But last night we waited and hour and a half in an empty restaurant only to get our food out all at separate times (literally like 30 mins apart) and got multiple wrong things. The appetizer never came out. I have worked in restaurants for years so I get how it is sometimes stuff happens but when I very politely spoke to the manager about our problem he argued with me and got angry and barely acknowledged that we had a terrible terrible experience. My best friend and fellow foodie highly recommended this spot, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'd like to start by saying I have no experience with any of the service here as I just got take-out. After finally finding the tiny restaurant, I went in, and the hostess was very friendly, took my card, I got my food and headed home. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken, a dish I have been eating for years all over the place. This was not Pad Thai. What crack head thinks Pad Thai is made with spaghetti noodles? Further, not a single reputable Asian restaurant would ever even let dried spaghetti enter the kitchen, let alone serve it to customers where the delicious rice noodles belong. The pasta had literally no sauce on it, and had neither the distinctive tamarind red color and tartness, nor the other soy and fish sauce-laced brown Pad Thai you occasionally find, but just looked like bland spaghetti your idiot roommate made stoned at 3 am. The chicken, traditionally sliced very thinly against the grain to cook fast and crisp up when it hits the wok, was cut with the grain in 3 bite pieces (5 of them to be precise) and somehow managed to frighten me into questioning whether or not it was undercooked, but also mealy, rubbery, and dry with no flavor all at the same time. I don't know who this place has in the kitchen, but they have no business being there. This restaurant has potential, but they can't pass off nonsensical choices in the food like that... Good God. May try one more time to give them a second chance, but it better be greatly improved. read more

This place is okay. I'm a big fan of Thai food and sushi, so I ordered Pad Seewe and a dragon roll. The Pad Seewe wasn't great, the chicken was chewy and didn't taste fresh and there were big chunks of both chicken and cilantro, so it didn't taste very balanced. My son ordered shrimp tempura, crab Rangoon, and shrimp in a blanket. He received all of his food before me and was finished eating it before my first dish came out. I also had to wait an additional 15 minutes after I had finished my Pad Seewe before my sushi came out. When we walked in the restaurant it was totally empty so the only orders they had were ours, but somehow my sushi order got pushed behind some other orders of people who came in after us. I might come back and try the pho, but I was definitely disappointed by my first experience. read more

Fantastic Thai food! We've tried every Asian restaurant in Boone and Blowing Rock and generally never return...we will definitely be back at Sabeing. We had the crispy rolls and fresh rolls as appetizers, both were excellent. The fresh rolls were presented so beautifully we didn't want to mess them up by eating them! We had Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Basil Fried Rice as entrees, all were delicious. Warning: we asked for mild on all of our entrees and the basil fried rice and Pad Thai were incredibly spicy- probably the spiciest we've ever had. This is my all time favorite restaurant in boone! Every single dish I have tried has been amazing, but my favorite is the drunken noodle with tofu. The restaurant is usually pretty busy which just shows how good it is. Since it's so busy I like to get takeout. The food is always hot and the host gives you plenty of condiments. 11/10, definitely a must if you like Thai/sushi. read more

Absolutely love this place! Every time my boyfriend is in town we have to eat here! They have the best reasonably priced sushi in town (regular rolls $5-7, specialty rolls $9-12(?)). I've also tried the chicken pad Thai, and the chicken pho (sp?) which were both delicious as well. The service is always friendly and it's a great atmosphere. The only complaint is the size of the restaurant, but I can get over that. read more

This place is amazing. I've been here a few times, and each time I'm thinking to myself that there's no way it can top the previous time, and each time it does. Appetizers are a treat. I love the crab rangoon so much that I sometimes order it by itself for a snack on my lunch break at work. It's flaky, fresh, and has a real filling, and that's impossible to find anywhere else in town. If you went to Sabeing, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try the sushi. It's hands-down the best sushi in town, and it's actually affordable. Its nice to have sushi without a side of bougie. My personal favorites are the King Street roll, the Sabeing roll, and the angry tuna roll. I've had a fairly good spread of entrees. My favorite is the drunken noodle with crispy chicken (don't sleep on the crispy chicken), but I've had the khao soi, pad Thai, and yellow curry as well. All are incredible, and each dish feels like it was hand-crafted for you. The kitchen staff knows their stuff. The best part about this place is that it's actually cheap for the quality. I'd easily pay double the price for my dishes. They're tasty, and you get a great portion. I respect the owners for making amazing food without gouging prices, and it's a clear indicator that you're eating at a local business run by good people. The wait staff is on top of it and personable. It's the perfect place to grab a quick bite with friends, have a family meal, or take a date. It's easily my favorite dining experience in town, and your stomach will thank you for eating here. read more

Unfortunately, the last couple of times we've gotten our favorite spicy pork soup and drunken noodles here, the quality has been down. Are they too busy or has there been a change in the kitchen? The soup has just been a plain broth with some spice thrown in and a few small pieces of fatty pork, and last time, my partner's noodles weren't completely cooked, for example. I hope they figure this out and get back their early mojo, but we won't be back for a long while. read more
