Absolutely terrible business with no integrity. We were given a wrong order. Due to an allergy and they refused to refund our order or remake our food for another day. We are 20 minutes away which means we would need to drive 40 minutes to rectify their mistake. Our only option was to drive back right away. I highly advise you check your order as soon as you receive it or before you pay. They would rather keep 25 bucks, get bad reviews and lose customers for life than to make good on their mistake. Alright, here we go.... So I am new to Boone and was looking for a good japanese/thai place to eat. I have heard of Osaka as a chain in other places so decided to try it out. Worst mistake of my life.... I was looking for a meal that would fill me up but no, instead I am starving still. Why you might ask? Well take a look at the chicken to rice ratio in the Teriyaki Chicken w Veggies combo. And on a side note... there was no teriyaki sauce on my chicken. I had to pour the little amount of white sauce I was given for this meal to add some flavor. When I asked for more white sauce they wanted to charge me a dollar for taste testing size cup. I originally ordered a teriyaki entree but instead got a rice entree with a side of 8 chicken nuggets. Complete rip off, go to any other asian restaurant but here. If the owner wants to respond and give me my money back id be happy to take those hard earned dollars from ya. read more

Very mediocre. We went around 6 on a Saturday and it wasn't very busy. They had advertisements for specials on the windows and they seem to do a better lunch crowd. It's extremely cheap. I got like 24 pieces of sushi for around 12 bucks and it included soup or salad. They had a hibachi chicken deal for $5 with rice and an egg roll. Pretty solid deal, especially for dinner. Our group had a little bit of everything and it's an interesting concept to have Japanese and Chinese together. Everyone left satisfied I'd say and our waitress was good. I love Osaka! They are my favorite Japanese place in Boone, and they also have Chinese options on the menu for those who aren't crazy over Japanese. They have great portions for the price (which is great for a college student), and they include fried noodles and soup/egg roll with your order. By far my favorite place for sushi, BUT it is only available Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 4:30! They have speciality rolls but also a great 2 rolls for $6.99 and they're really good sized rolls. The sanitation rating is very high and you can tell when you look around the restaurant. When we first entered we were greeted nicely by the waitress and she immediately began to answer questions we had. The lunch menu was very nice and not too expensive, which is great because we got hot tea and an appetizer and it was still very affordable. The food was amazing! From the presentation to the taste everything was great! The waitress continued to check in on us and fill any of our needs. She had great recommendations for what tasted good and she was absolutely right. I plan to come back again over the weekend to try the sushi. The hibachi is really great! read more

I have eaten here several times before and never had a complaint. Recently though I went here with a friend and left unsatisfied. Our food tasted as if it had been siting out for hours and our waitress had no knowledge of what she was serving us. She brought us a sushi platter saying it was crab rangoons and kept putting her headphones in while serving us. I would not recommend sitting in the front booths. In town with my husband and 8 year old daughter for Christmas. After the movies my daughter wanted sushi , we arrived 9:40pm. The hostess who was sitting down when we arrived asked if we were dinning in or taking out, we stated we would like to eat in. After the hostess rolled her eyes she said " well we close at 10. You can sit anywhere." We were aware of the closing time. We sat down at a booth. She then comes up to us and asks us to move because they are about to mop around that table. My husband has a bad hip which the hostess saw him struggling to walk to the table. We moved to the other side of the restaurant. A few moments later she came back and said we can not be served and they can only choose take out. We walked out very upset. We ordered through Boone Deliveries, who was fantastic btw, and Osaka messed up our order. Deliveries tried to resolve the issue but the restaurant was skeptical, and sent the driver a box with an egg and cold crunchy rice. No point in name calling but we will never step foot in this restaurant again and we will be sure to tell our friends the same. It's understandable to save money from people that try to cheat the system, but when you put everyone in the same category you can end up losing more money. As someone that has worked with customers a long time and looking at the other reviews, you may be in a panic situation to capitalize on every customer that comes in. But as a word of advice don't forget that the customer writes the check with reoccurring business. Hopefully you are checking the review of all your customers and if not, if may help to improve your experience for customers and profit as well. read more

Had late lunch there on Saturday, 28th December. Place was kind of quiet and we seated ourselves. Service was very good. Hot and sour soup was tasty and hot enough to bring on a few sniffles. My companion and I shared sushi, which was very fresh. I had crab Rangoon appetizer, which consisted of 2 Rangoon with the absolute best duck sauce I have ever eaten. I couldn't tell if I was tasting 'peach' or 'plum' flavours. I asked chef, who confirmed they make their duck sauce fresh daily, but couldn't really understand the rest of my question. . The Thai spring roll was served hot but not greasy like some other places I've been. My 'General Tso's Chicken' was superb. My companion had Chicken and Cashews, and we each ate the entire meals rather than taking home any. The sweet iced tea was a bit too sweet for my palette, but it was decent. Ok. I know that there are not many places open on Christmas Day but I don't agree with price gouging . They had made a "special " menu for Christmas Day. One item went from $6.95 to $12.00. Another jumped from $9.95 to $18.00. Another from $ 9.45 to $12.00. Another from $9.25 to $12.00 and the last item from $3.95 to $6.00. We were told that the wait time would be 20 minutes but it was 40 minutes. The hibachi Yaki was the most over priced jumping from $9.94 to $18.00 and the meat was practically burnt.
