Best Thai in NC. Same location as the old Bangkok station which was really good but this is even better.

Bangkok Station - Panang curry lunch special, affordable and yum!

Bangkok Station

This newly opened gem fills a much-needed gap in Mitchell and Yancey counties: an affordable, good…read morequality asian lunch spot, that doubles as a dinner restaurant with Thai and Japanese dishes, including good sushi! I've only been there once, so far, considering they just opened this week. I started with the spicy tuna salad, and it was full of beautiful chunks that I THOUGHT were diced tomatoes at first, the kimchi sauce and accoutrements were very satisfying. Because it was my first time there, I also ordered pad see ew, to try their hot food. The crab Rangoon appetizer was so light, crunchy, and flavorful, I wanted more. The entree was very tasty and satisfying, though the size was a bit modest. But it is an affordable lunch special, right? Wifey tried the California rule, and reported it was perfect, spring roll was excellent, and her panang curry was excellent, I was not offered a nibble! Next time, I will try the seafood sushi...

The food was brought out randomly with some of our table receiving their plates 20 minutes before others. We also never received 2 of our sushi rolls and had to inquire about it. There was a 20 percent gratuity added to our tickets with only 5 people on our ticket. Expensive food and poor service!

Thai Chili Asian Bistro - Ginger Chicken so good!

This is a true hidden gem in Asheville! This restaurant changed hands about a year ago now, and…read morethough I had not tried it prior to the new owners, I can't imagine it getting any better! I love Thai food, and will honestly take any chance I can to have some, but this place is something special! The restaurant is pretty simple, it is in the corner slot on a strip mall, but the inside is very clean and peaceful, it also has an outdoor covered patio that overlooks a beautiful pond which makes for a wonderfully relaxing environment for a quiet meal. Thai chili is a small family owned restaurant, like all the best spots are, the servers are some of the nicest people I've met in a long time, and the quality of the food is unmatched in Asheville! The red curry has a wonderful thick sauce and perfect flavor, ingredients are always fresh, and I highly recommend the spring rolls, ginger stir-fry, and the pad-kee-mao. If you like spicy food, make sure to ask for the fried chili oil, they make it fresh in house and it is far better than I have had anywhere else. They also have fresh Thai birds-eye chilis which make for a wonderful side or topping to any meal. All in all, if you're in the area, make a stop here. It is well worth going a bit out of the way if you're in the mood for Thai food. The prices are good, the people and atmosphere are wonderful, and the food can't be matched! I can't say enough good things about this place!

Long wait for food, which was pretty much all onions. A lovely shade of gray. Food did not look…read morelike its picture nor was it hot when served.
