I was a big fan of the North End location. I don't know. It didn't super remind me of it but that is OK. It was good. Just not the nostalgia I anticipated. Place is decorated well, good for a romantic dinner. Service was A+. We liked our food but it wouldn't necessarily be a go-to. If friends wanted to go I'd go but I don't know that I'd seek it out. But your mileage may vary.

    Ok Shrimp scampi

Had a chance to try this restaurant. The bartender was very nice and made a great drink. We ordered fried calamari--crispy, but it lacked that soft, fresh flavor. The shrimp scampi and spaghetti with meatballs were just okay, nothing special. The sauce tasted more like canned tomato than homemade. The biggest issue was the bill. Several prices didn't match what was on the menu. For example, the menu listed $29, but the bill showed $29.95. When we asked the bartenders, neither could explain why. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the menu or the bill as proof, but it left us questioning--is that even legal?

I've been going to On the Corner Grill for quite a while, and one of the things that keeps me…read morecoming back is the consistency. For a place that many people jokingly refer to as "the gas station restaurant," the food is surprisingly--and consistently--good. This particular dinner was a great example. We started with the arancini balls, which were crispy on the outside, creamy and cheesy inside, and packed with that rich, savory flavor you want from a good arancini. The Pomodoro Caprese was another standout. The tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, the mozzarella was creamy, and the bright tomato sauce and fresh flavors made it a nice lighter start to the meal. The chicken parmigiana was exactly what you hope for in a classic chicken parm. The chicken was tender with a nicely crisped exterior, topped with plenty of tomato sauce and melted cheese. It had that combination of crispy, cheesy, savory and slightly sweet tomato flavor that makes chicken parm such a comfort-food favorite. The rigatoni alla Bolognese was rich and hearty, with a slow-cooked meat sauce that had plenty of depth without being overly heavy. The rigatoni held onto the sauce really well, making every bite flavorful. The chicken Marsala was another favorite. Tender chicken with a savory Marsala sauce that had that slightly sweet, earthy mushroom flavor you expect from a good Marsala. The sauce was rich enough to make the dish satisfying without overwhelming the chicken. And then there was the salad special with salmon. The salmon was a nice change of pace from the heavier pasta and chicken dishes, and the freshness of the salad balanced out the meal really well. We also started the evening with a couple of Espresso Martinis, which were a great combination of rich coffee flavor and just enough sweetness to get the night started. What I really like about On the Corner is that you can come in regularly and feel pretty confident that the food is going to be good. Restaurants can have a great night here and there, but consistency is what makes a place a regular stop for me. So yes, it may be "the gas station restaurant," but don't let that nickname fool you. There's a real kitchen here putting out some very good food, and this dinner was another reminder of why On the Corner Grill remains one of our go-to spots in Derry.

We had dinner tonight at On the Corner Grill and everything was excellent. I ordered the scallops…read morerisotto and they were delicious. My friends had the salmon, mussels and calamari, and a steak tip salad-everyone loved their meals. For dessert we shared crème brûlée warm donut dessert with ice cream and whipped cream, which were amazing. Our server, Naomi, was the best-attentive, friendly, and sweet, always making sure we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night, which says a lot about how good it is. The two small cons: when I made the reservation on March 7, I included a note asking for a surprise birthday dessert for my friend Anita after the meal (I had planned to order the Swiss Chalet Cake), but it never arrived. Luckily we ordered the crème brûlée donut to share, which was fantastic anyway. I just wish reservation comments were reviewed so special requests like that can be carried out. Additionally, it was also a bit loud for a small restaurant, especially on a Tuesday night. Overall, everything was perfectly cooked and we'll definitely be going back again soon.

Don't get me wrong, our waitress was polite, but every time we mentioned something, there just wasn't any follow-through. I had asked for extra bread and a new napkin and they never arrived. When my boyfriend asked for more water, she responded along the lines of she was about to do it, which came off like it was an inconvenience. I also wasn't offered fresh pepper and had to ask for Parmesan cheese, which made things feel a little off. I ordered the Linguine ai Frutti di Mare with clams, calamari, mussels, scallops, shrimp, and a lobster tail. The seafood itself was cooked pretty well, but the pasta was heavily overcooked, which was such a bummer because we come here at least twice a year and usually look forward to it. Afterward, I asked if the pasta was homemade and was told you have to specifically request that. I feel like that's something that should be mentioned upfront when ordering. Also, I forgot to mention they add radishes to the salad and no one asked about allergies. When I got mine, there was a big radish in it and I just had to hope I removed them all, which wasn't a great feeling. I don't know what changed, but overall this visit just felt a little disappointing compared to what we're used to.

They offer a limited selection of draft beers from Rockingham Brewing Co, bottles/cans beers & wine, and bottled Coke products. The prices are moderate here. I stopped by Buxton's Restaurant for dinner recently and took a seat up at the bar. Staff brought over menus and a cup of tap water to drink. I placed my order for the Antipasto ($8 plus tax) and a Bianca Pizza ($19 plus tax). My food was served together within 8 minutes. Served in a small bowl, the Antipasto had a variety of stuffed Italian hot peppers (prosciutto& cheese), parm cheese, house pickles and marinated olives in an oil dressing. The 12" Bianca was topped with a light cream sauce, garlic, mozzarella, stracciatella spread, basil, truffle on a thin light soft & crisp pizza crust, minimal char from the wood fired oven.  The food I had was very enjoyable and I finished everything. I passed on the dessert and got the check which was presented on a portable electronic payment reader, $29.30 with tax and before tip. The service was very prompt and the owner also stopped to check on things.
