Mother's day reservations were all booked but they were accepting walk-in's at the high tops. Well one hostess said they weren't but I told her 5 minutes prior I was told this by her colleague so she asked and was told by the manager "yes at a high top"....awkward but that's ok. We sat and were greeted by our server, she was nice and attentive despite being busy. I ordered a glass of the May Rosé special, and my mom got a nonalcoholic rosé. We both liked ours. Then we split the crab cake appetizer which we liked, although small...one piece for almost $20. We also were brought bread which was tasty paired with an olive oil mix. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli. There were only 6 of them but a good size, I opted out of a protein since they were a little pricey. I loved my meal, the sauce was creamy and paired nicely with the filling of the raviolis. My mom ordered the scallops that came with a lobster risotto. She liked hers as well and the scallops were a pretty good size. I will say the food was good and the overall experience was enjoyable despite having a high top even when I expressed to the host and manager it would be uncomfortable for my mother. We did see other moms receive a rose but my mom did not, I think only for the reserved tables and not any paying customer. Pricey but lovely inside and food quality was good just a little on the smaller side for portions. My family and I made a reservation for Christmas Eve night and we had a really enjoyable dinner! We were seated quickly upon arrival and were surprised with how many other families had the same idea as we did. The space was set up beautifully for the holidays and it was lively but not too loud. Our server, Bella, was so lovely! She was patient with my family as they took their time ordering, she made friendly conversation with us, and we could not have asked for better service from her. I had an espresso martini and my mom tried what I believe was called the Tuscan-tini? Regardless, we both loved our drinks. The table shared calamari and we ordered one of their 3-selection charcuterie boards. I had no complaints. Finally, for my entree I ordered the bolognese, and I thought it was yummy! Nothing too crazy but I felt it was worth the price. Overall I loved the ambiance and the service, and the food was worth going back for. Wednesday June 10th sat at the bar with my wife. A half dozen dirty glasses in front of us. Bartender gave us menus but didn't clean up. I pushed the glasses to the side, grabbed some napkins and started cleaning. Bartender left the bar area and we had to flag down the other one to get a drink. My wife got her cosmo, or should I say a half of a cosmo. We called the Copper Door, and made a reservation for dinner. First bartender returned, I held up my CC and asked if he would cash out. He said in a minute, waited on a couple more patrons and left the bar area once again! We will never be back. Terrible service comes from the management down. So I got stuck in New Hampshire during the giant 2026 snow storm. Okay, so maybe I planned appropriately and found a hotel with an attached restaurant ahead of time. I didn't expect much and wow was I surprised! So the food is all genuinely good and well prepared... but let's talk about the kids menu, because it's legit. Most kids menu are an after thought of here's some chicken nuggets. Sure, that works for most kids, I get it. But this menu actually allows the kids to try toned down or smaller versions of what their parents are trying. And I appreciate that. i've been wanting to try the original tuscan kitchen, as i have loved the seaport location for years. the tuscan market is beautiful, stocked with groceries & prepared foods, while tuscan kitchen is inside the market. the inside seating & bar are not too far from the takeout counter & dessert area, it's an interesting setup. they have a beautiful, large patio area i was lucky enough to get a table. olivia provided 5-star excellent service from beginning to end. i started with the meatballs & tried the quattro cheese ravioli. the pomodoro sauce was very good. as expected, but i felt the meatballs could have been more seasoned. the ravioli was a good texture but extremely(!) plain, they definitely could add more flavors to it. i ordered the rosso pizza instead, which was cheesy and spicy, very thin crust, not a lot of sauce or dough, just a lot of spice. they also had limited options for wine, i went with a glass of cabernet and wished i had tried something else. meatballs 7/10 quattro ravioli 2.5/10 rosso pizza 4/10 overall, i wasn't nearly as impressed with this locations food as the one in the seaport, which is a shame seeing as this is the original! i was extremely pleased with the service from olivia and the host, though. the service is excellent, ambiance is beautiful, food left a lot to be desired. ambiance: 4.5/5 food: 2.3/5 drinks: 3/5 service: 5/5 tuscan kitchen salem: 3.5/5 read more

Both of us ordered the Al Forno Pollo Con Pesto with the side salad. Great bread surrounding the very little chicken, very few tomatoes and almost absent goat cheese. Pesto had great flavor. Huge portion of bread but that does not make up for the 24.99 price tag with an additional $6 for a nearly nonexistent salad. It was the worst dining experience we've ever had. From the start, the service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress took forever to even take our order, and we ended up waiting over an hour and a half for our main entrees. When the food finally arrived, it was clearly rushed and of extremely poor quality. My salmon was dry and overcooked, and my husband's pasta was unbearably salty and more like a watery soup than an actual dish. To make matters worse, when we spoke to the manager about our concerns, he still charged us for the entrees we didn't even touch. We only ate the appetizer, but the main courses were completely inedible. We've also shared our frustrations with friends and family, who take our feedback very seriously since we dine out often, and this experience was unacceptable. IF I COULD GIVE IT 0 STARS I WOULD! Menu is different, vibe is different and it just doesn't hit the heart like it used to. I 100% miss the old Tuscan. The hostessses are not friendly. The chairs slide too much- they need to put footers on them or add non slip rugs under the tables. It makes it almost dangerous for kids and even the high chairs slide. read more

I have gone to this restaurant many times and one of the first times that I went here was during COVID. The overall experience every time was amazing. This is the perfect spot for a date night or a nice night out with your friends. The drinks are phenomenal and strong. I love myself the Espresso Martini. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. The last time that my fiancé and i went we got a charcuterie board for an appetizer. It was the perfect size for the both of us. I enjoyed the Filet Mignion. It was flavorful and the presentation was amazing. My fiance went with a pasta dish which he also loved. The pizza was ok at best, and it was easily the best part of our order. The bolognese had a strange flavor to it. Definitely NOT worth the price. The cookies were rock hard. And for $15 dollars, you only get a few. The apple crostada was meh. Again, very small portion for the price. The gelato that comes with it was truthfully the best part of it. Overall, very disappointed with both the price for quantity as well as overall taste. Tuscan Kitchen Salem - $15 stale cookies and $13 cold apple crostada - Italian Near Me - Salem, New Hampshire

First, I would like to say that we have eaten at Tuscan restaurant several times throughout the years but my visit with my husband on Saturday, July 5th was not a good one. My husband and I chose your Salem location to have an early dinner. The waitress asked us for allergies and we emphasized that I have a mushroom allergy and my husband has a tree nut allergy. We both surveyed your menu and carefully picked 2 drinks, Oysters and calamari appetizers and 2 of the Filet with potato and a vegetable entrees. We were assured there were no nuts or mushrooms in any of the order. The waitress even went back to the kitchen to confirm before accepting the order. Appetizers came and went and then the entrees came. The server asked if we wanted the gob of butter on the steak melted and we said yes. I took my first and then 2nd bite of steak enjoying it when I saw a piece of something that looked like a mushroom. My husband called the waitress over that took our order and she took the plate back to the kitchen to confirm. When she came back, she verified that bit was indeed mushrooms that was in the truffle butter "gob" on our steaks that was melted and due to the melting process, they were not readily apparent. She was very apologetic but that did not take away the fact that due to the lack of responsibility of your kitchen and staff, I was up all night with hives, itchy, red, scratchy throat. Thank god I took 2 Benadryl earlier that afternoon for a runny nose. It assisted me in fighting the mushroom allergy. And thank goodness my allergies to mushrooms are not severe enough to cause fatal issues. The waitress offered to have the meal remade without the butter. My husband waited 15 minutes until a new meal came out to me, at which point his meal was now cold so I asked to have it boxed to take home. That evening was filled with more Benadryl, red itchy patches all over my face, throat, neck, chest... I awoke this morning to a swollen left side of my face, some left over hives under my left eye and red rashy neck and chest. This was my experience during our visit to this restaurant and $182.00 meal. I was given a free appetizer worth $9.00 for causing me this distress which I find in insulting and in extremely poor professional taste. Given the liability of this establishment had and their failure to know the menu and its hidden and not specified ingredient allergen contents, this issue could have been so much worse if I had a more severe allergy. I would echo what many are saying about this place. Food is mediocre at best. I saw that someone posted that the salmon was overcooked. That was our experience as well. Do the managers read the reviews? If they had they'd take note, or they don't care. I got the Bolognese which was a small portion and average tasting at best. As far as the service is concerned, it took 2 1/2 hours. We got no mixed drinks. Everyone got sodas and water, which should come out quickly. They did not. The waiter was perturbed when we indicated we needed more time after telling us a main course (butter nut squash ravioli) was out (at noon on a Saturday). The atmosphere is nice, but as others have said, the music is distracting. (Think club music). So for us, this location has started to go downhill... and the experience does not reflect how it started off- or the price we paid for the meal. - We ordered a half dozen oysters but ran into a couple issues. Several of them had shells in it- but one oyster in particular was broken during shucking... we were only given a half bottom shell, filled with broken bits of shell, the meat not taken off the shell, and because the shell was broken in half, all the liquid was gone. When we mentioned/showed this to our bartender after we finished (we were sitting at the bar) she said "oh that's weird" then just took them and walked away. - We ordered the rigatoni with duck... which had great flavor, but the pasta was not drained after being cooked, so the bottom of the plate was thin soup. I had seen others around us who ordered the same, and it came out much different. - We had wanted to order a glass of port after our meal, but when we asked the bartender to taste one before purchasing, she told us the wine list was all by bottle and it was not possible to taste anything. We explained this is dessert wine which is by the glass, she rolled her eyes at us and sent someone else over- who was very helpful. - I ordered a glass of Laphroiag and half way into it, noticed there was old food stuck to the inside bottom of my glass that had not been cleaned off. It was replaced, but again off-putting and not the level of quality we have come to expect. We emailed the address for escalation and resolution of issues, but unfortunately never heard back. I must admit I've never had this happen in a restaurant before, most simply take whatever the celebrant orders and jam a candle in it, but for the time being I was impressed, and thought this must be a Tuscan Kitchen specialty presentation. Mind you our entree plates were still on the table, and some of us were still eating. Plates were cleared, nd immediately the birthday dessert comes out for the celebrant. No one else had placed a dessert order, which caused this poor soul to sit there and eat his dessert alone. We had to flag down a runner, and tell him we wanted to order dessert. Ava finally arrived to take our dessert order, but by the time the desserts arrived, we had already sung happy birthday, and all the presents were opened. Manager walked around in a pair of faded jeans, totally disinterested with what was going on at any of the tables, I never saw her scan the room once. Her strong suit is not "front of the house." One of our party had reservations for 7 for Thanksgiving at Tuscan Kitchen, those have been cancelled, We paid $500 for a Birthday dinner, only to have our server ruin, not only the birthday dinner, but also the reputation of Tuscan Kitchen in our eyes. Staff needs to be trained better, manager needs to be able to"manage". If you're going to serve mediocre food at city prices , at least make an attempt at decent service. I made a reservation for the main dining area last week but was seated in a comfortable high top against the wall in the bar section. The place was packed, and hardcore techno music was blaring the entire evening. How the heck did this place go from Bocelli/Sinatra tunes at the other locale to what I experienced at the newer location? No bueno. And the food? Pricey and average at best. Sellout? Hostess have all the women a rose upon arrival. Very nice touch. Katheryn was our server, she was awesome. Beautiful ambience even with a packed restaurant on Valentine's Day. Cocktails were fantastic. My wife had some type of martini and she was pleasantly happy with it. I had a mezcal with a splash of seltzer and a lime. Waitress asked if I would rather have a big block of ice as opposed to small cubes. That's great attention to detail and customer service. Kudos to Katheryn. Salads, wife half the Caesar. Kathryn asked if she wanted the anchovy in it to which she did not. Again, attention to detail. I had the mixed green salad. Normally I ask for dressing on the side but went with it on the salad. Lightly dressed and flavorful. Perfect. Mains...my wife got the gnocchi with mascarpone and lobster. Very little to no mascarpone. It was mostly broth. Gnocchi were past al dente. I got the scallops with lobster saffron risotto. The entire dish lacked seasoning. Scallops were not seared properly nor seasoned. Risotto was gritty as opposed to a smoother, velvety/creamy texture. Not super pleased with it overall. Wine list was uninspiring, but was able to find a nice northern Italian Kerner. Kathryn walked us through how to properly taste wine. Loved it!! I've been in the wine industry for 22 years. She's was spot on and not pretentious at all. Olive oil cake for the finisher was very good. Overall, the better value is at the market. Happy we tried it. They have all the right people in place. Host station was very professional, attentive and polite during a packed holiday dinner service. Server, at least ours, was very well versed on the menu, Offered suggestions when she saw we were in a toss up between options and exceeded all customer service expectations. Only giving three stars because the manager and other servers around us were odd. We came in at 8, they close at 9. I didn't think an hour before closing was too late because we're quick diners. When we walked in three servers were huddled around a menu confused about some other persons salad and trying to find the ingredient on the menu the guest was complaining about. We had to get their attention. No greeting at all. I said, for two please, to the manager, who didn't acknowledge me at all, didn't say anything, just started walking in the other direction, I wasn't sure if we were supposed to follow him or not so we start following, he seems annoyed looking for a table for us. He grabs menus and we follow him. We proceed to have a great time with Olivia and the food was great. However multiple servers start resetting the dining room around us for the next day which became so overstimulating. Rushing back and forth next to our table and loudly clanking dishes down. I totally understand they want to close and go home but it became so overstimulating it was hard to enjoy the food. Servers started talking about closing tasks way too close to our table and so loudly. There was literally a server rushing, and I do mean rushing by us at least every 10 seconds. Not to be funny or sarcastic but they were creating a breeze with how often and how fast they were rushing by us. I've worked in luxury dining and hotels before and this is just not how you operate. While the concept, building, grounds and interior are visually stunning and exceptionally beautiful, the food ranges from does not cut it to terrible. There is no excuse for this. The menu, I guess, is Nuevo Italian. TK does not hit the mark in any category. The Yelp reviews objectively establish It's well past time to scrap the entire menu and start from scratch. Last night we stayed away from the regular menu and tried the pizza - it made us sick and was over priced. The pizza was so soggy it was like a soup and impossible to eat and the sauce was not that great and the cheese combination was worse. Half went in the trash can. First, its a very beautiful restaurant. Service is amazing, we had Edson. He is above and beyond we were treated very well and very patient. My friend and I had a blast. Thanks Edson! Food; we start we calamari fritti, calamari very juicy and tender. Perfect consistency. My main is bolognese thats a very let down. Its something off with the combination of the sauce n the pasta too? Not sure what but i just cant eat it. Good thing my friend's chicken pretty good so we both eat those. Oh! I also had desert rose cocktail and its very good, smooth and subtle. Dessert; this is our highlight of the food tonight. We had dark chocolate flourless espresso cake. That was smooth, chocolaty, no mistaken if it really made with chocolate. If u r chocolate lover, u need to try this. We also had olive oil cake, my friend loves it. At the end of the meal Edson work so hard to work with my gift card. And we never felt understand appreciate just because we dont dress so fancy or using my gift card n half debit card. Ambiance 3 Stars Service 5 Stars Food 4 Stars Assaggi 1 Star, See Top of their Menu Value. 3 Stars We really wanted to love our dining experience at the new location of the Tuscan Kitchen, which is now located in the Artisan Hotel in the Tuscan Village in Salem but were somewhat disappointed and here's why! The ambiance was nice but reminiscent of the Boston College Hillside Cafe, with rather small tables! It certainly wasn't, a sitting in a cozy booth dining experience, and the noice level was noticeably high! Our waitress was top notch and the rest of the waitstaff was attentive and friendly. We were surprised how busy it was midweek? We started off with the "Assaggi" it's a tasting of various cheeses, meats and vegetables. FYI..You only get to choose 2 items from each selection which I felt was deceptive and should be noted on the menu! We chose the tasting for four persons which was $30 and assumed that it would be a sizable selection of the items offered, we were wrong, just a few pieces of cheese and a few slices, of literally paper thin, Soppressata Salami! It certainly wasn't worth $30! I should've taken a pic when it was served and you would agree that it was underwhelming! Drinks were good, decent size Bombay Sapphire Martini $15 but they do charge a buck and a half for the Blue Cheese Olives. Beer's a little overpriced, average price $10 bucks! Wine by the glass and bottle would've added another Benjamin to the bill so we stuck to mostly beer! Like they say, Restaurants make most of their profit on booze! Our "Secondi" Main Dish choices were Scallops $42, Halibut $36 and Osso Bucco $46. One serving of the Osso Bucco was good but the other very fatty so if you order that dish it's a crap shoot! The food, overall, was good but the, on the small side, portions, except for the Osso Bucco, were in my opinion, not a good value! We would give the Tuscan Kitchen another try but the Ambiance and Food portions were my biggest gripe, it just wasn't up to par for an upscale Italian Restaurant! read more

Came here for a Birthday celebration, had reservations for lunch on a Sunday. Place had plenty of open tables and the decor and ambiance was very nice and inviting. We were seated within minutes then greeted by our friendly server and served with nice cold waters. We ordered drinks shortly after and our server brought some fresh baked bread with some olive oil. I ordered a Red Sangria which was pretty tasty but got watered down pretty quick even thou the restaurant was air conditioned. Ordered some appetizer Fried Calamari & Fried Stuffed Zucchini Flowers with cheese. The zucchini flowers were very tasty but only 2 for $22 and the Calamari was chewy $18. For the main I got their Bolognese $28 which was suggested by our server so that's what I ordered and my husband got the Fusilli with Shrimp and Pesto Sauce. He truly enjoyed his dish and as for mine not so. It was just meh! I've had much better, their sauce was basically a Marinara with some meat in it. So disappointed, Bolognese sauce is supposed to be rich in color which shows it has been simmered and cooked for a long time with Beef. I ate what I could and left more than half to bring home maybe for lunch who knows. So don't get the Bolognese. Again our server was pleasant and made the experience nice therefore 4 stars plus my husband did enjoy his dish. Would I come back sure but would order something else for sure. read more
