Ok anyone knocking this place doesn't know anything about sushi! We've had it in Hawaii, San Diego, Florida, Long Island, and in Las Vegas. I will put this sushi up against them all! FRESH FRESH FRESH...did I say FRESH?! I definitely had my doubts but the presentation, sauces, originality, and freshness is all there at the top! No two rolls were alike! Sounds hyperbolic, but it's the truth! Oh yeah the drinks are amazing too! Too bad we live 6 hours away or we'd be regulars! -- Cory & Angee celebrating our 20th anniversary!

My two sushi rolls were absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh and they're special ginger habanero sauce. Hate everything perfect. The restaurant was with people, tourist, and locals alike and the service very friendly.

The delicate arch roll - refreshing and full of fresh seafood and a tasty sauce

Amazing sushi in Moab! We walked up and we're seated promptly at the bar. From there we were able to watch the magic happen as each sushi chef concentrated on their specialty - sashimi, rolls, nigiri and other amazing looking foods. We ordered the cucumber salad, half dozen oysters, a couple of their specialty rolls and their large sashimi, a Sapporo and their non alcoholic coco loco cocktail. Everything was super fresh, with new combinations of fish and added sauces or additions that enhanced the flavor of the seafood. For the quality we felt it was a good value, the prices were very reasonable for what we got. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and nice interior. This is a place I would definitely come back to!

I will give 5. So this is not Japanese make Japanese sushi restaurant. They have sushi bar with fish case. It's middle of continent. I don't expect many different fish here. As I expected. But they do great job out of limited fish collection. Very hip chill cool sushi restaurant. Ambience is more stylish than typical many Japanese sushi restaurant. It is very popular place to eat for sure. It was great to experience elk sushi We ordered spicy tuna roll, spider roll and elk sushi first. Spicy tuna is simple one just like Japanese tekka-maki, but spicy. And we saw my neighbor was eating chef's special so we ordered that. I will order chef's special again to see wha is up to him that day We needed sushi ! Thank you

I didn't think sushi and Moab went together but I was wrong! Don't skip this for dinner. Service and ambiance were nice. Prices are more than fair considering that everything else in the area has similar prices. Sushi is fresh and tasty. Drinks are good too. You can't go wrong going here!

The Service was quick, and our table was ready 30 minutes before the reservation time. There's always a line out front. 50% of the tables are reserved for walk-ins. www.sabakusushi.com Only open 5-9pm! Reservations are a must.

Cost versus quality is not what we expected. The seafood in the sushi rolls was bland and tasteless. Not at all what we are used. Meh..

It was an easy walk from our hotel, which was perfect because it was late, we were tired, and we were hungry. From the outside, it's connected to the Ramada and doesn't necessarily look like a fancy steakhouse. But once you walk in, it has a nice Japanese-style vibe. They also have an outdoor patio with market lights that would probably be great in warmer weather. It was mid-March and cold, so nobody was sitting outside. The young man who greeted us at the front was fantastic -- very friendly and super helpful. We grabbed menus and sat near the bar for a few minutes while deciding what to order. Inside, it's set up like a traditional hibachi steakhouse with several tables where chefs cook right in front of you. There were four hibachi stations and three of them were already full when we arrived, which tells you the place is pretty popular. I only saw one chef at the time, though, and a couple more groups came in while we were waiting for our food, so hopefully they had more chefs coming on -- otherwise that could turn into a long wait. I ordered the hibachi ribeye, which came with vegetables, fried rice, and a salad. The ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. The vegetables (carrots, mushrooms, and zucchini) were really good. The fried rice was decent but could have used a little more seasoning. The salad looked pretty basic at first -- mostly iceberg lettuce with half a cherry tomato hiding at the bottom -- but I wanted to try the ginger dressing. That dressing was actually delicious and tasted homemade, and I ended up eating the whole thing. My husband ordered one of their combo bowls with chicken and fried rice, which he said was very good. He chose the miso soup instead of salad, and that was the only miss of the meal. It didn't really taste like the traditional miso soup we're used to. Overall, the food was very good and the service from the host made a great first impression. If we pass through Grand Junction again, we'd definitely consider stopping here again.

Our server didn't really seem to know what the menu was which was kind of odd. The sushi was quite good. The tempura was a little bland, and the unadon eel donburi was ok. We were seated in a back room, so it was actually pretty nice and quiet. Overall decent food, nothing special.

Service was great- even though I stopped by close to closing, staff was so friendly and the food was still served steaming hot. There's some lovely open wooden architecture here that make it a great place for conversations of any kind- dates, family outings, a quiet personal meal, or more!

Do NOT get any pork dish here. The server informed me they mainly serve beef or chicken - which…read moremeans the pork stays in the freezer much longer. I got the pork pad thai and it was below average. The pork tasted stale, rancid, and gamey. The dish noodles themselves were just ok. Ambiance was calm, servers were sweet. They only had one chef, didn't have sushi and a number of other dishes when I went in a Friday afternoon, though. Not sure if it was poor timing or if it is usually like that. Bottom line: This may be a historically local favorite, but it is certainly not up to par with other places. Apparently the quality has gone down over the last couple years, unsure what changed. If you're visiting from out of town and are craving Thai food, go to Arches Thai in Moab, UT - WAY better food for similar price. It is worth the extra drive, trust me.
